MOMENTS
CHAPTER 1 - The Pride Lands Need Help
JASIRI:
A lot has happened since the final battle against Scar and his army. Kion left with his friends to the Tree of Life and I became leader of the Outlands, where some enemies became friends. Janja and I have been close and I think he loves me. I don't know how to say that I don't like him the same way. I'm afraid of hurt him.
Not so long ago, Janja invited me to spend the day with him.
"And who will lead in my place?", I asked him.
"Well... How about Madoa?"
At first, I didn't want to give my sister so much responsibility, but then I remembered how brave she was in the past to defend me and help me fight alongside Kion. So, I decided to accept Janja's suggestion.
"Madoa. You'll lead the Outlands while I'm out. I totally trust you."
"You can count on me, Jasiri."
Then Janja and I left and let my sister Madoa to lead the Outlands for a day.
That morning, we went to the Pride Lands to relax for a while and have fun chasing gazelles. Always respecting the circle of life, of course. However, we hear a lot of noise. Something was going on. But we wanted to take the day to relax and we didn't pay much attention to what was going on around us.
At lunchtime, Janja and I shared our hunting memories. But Janja's memories always ended with him and his clan getting kicked by the Lion Guard. I have to admit: Kion was always strong, even when he was younger.
"I still feel the body stepped on, after so long."
"Hahaha! Oh, Janja.", I just laughed at the thought and blushed at Kion's moves and blows. He was always a good fighter.
Between the laughs, I realized that Janja was also blushing, but I didn't care.
We continued to enjoy the day, but, at the middle of the afternoon, we heard more noise and decided to get away from the Pride Lands.
A little further away, we took the opportunity to stroll and talk. I don't remember how, but Janja ended up talking about the motto "Sisi Ni Sawa" and how I managed to change him. First, I didn't change him. I just gave him a little help. He was never mean. He just needed a push to the right side. Second: "Sisi Ni Sawa" just reminds me of Kion.
At that moment, my mind traveled to the day I met Kion. He and I were suspicious of each other, but we quickly realized that we had a lot in common: "Sisi Ni Sawa". Even today I feel a slight shiver in my body when I remember that day.
I had blushed again, but I disguised it quickly, not wanting Janja to notice.
The night was approaching and we decided to go back home, before it got dark. On the way to the Outlands, crossing the Pride Lands, we realized that there was no sign of animals around us. It was when we looked at the Pride Rock that we saw a huge group of animals that looked revolted. (About to sing "Not One of Us".)
"Something's wrong, Janja. We'd better go see if they need help.", I started to run, but Janja quickly stopped me.
"We better not, Jasiri. Simba is the king. Let him handle that. Besides, we took the day to relax, remember?"
"You're right. Let's go.", I gave in, despite my concern.
When we returned to the Outlands, we were well received by the other hyenas. While Cheezi and Chungu jumped on Janja, Wema and Tunu came running to hug me. But my sister didn't seem very happy.
"Finally you're back, Jasiri."
"Is something wrong, Madoa?"
"I'm not sure. Mzingo told me that his parliament observed a clash between lions in an area further from the Outlands." (When Nuka dies.)
"Did Zira come back?"
"It's possible. But we're not sure."
"Something is definitely wrong."
"Why do you say that?"
"The Pride Lands have been very agitated today. And when we were coming here, we saw a group of revolted animals, next to the Pride Rock."
"What can we do?"
"I know what you can do."
A familiar voice made my sister and I look back.
"Kiara?!"
"Jasiri. I need your help."
"What's going on, Kiara?"
"We're being attacked by a group of lionesses, led by Zira."
"I knew she was up to something."
"You... You know her?!"
"It's a long story. But... how can I help you?"
"I need you to get Kion back."
"Kion?!", my sister and I were amazed by the suggestion.
"But I don't even know where he is." I warned.
"Kion is at the Tree Of Life. According to Rafiki's instructions, you have to cross the Back Lands, the Snow Mountains, the Marsh Of Mystery, the Desert and the Big Lake, until you reach a Rocky Gorge that is the entrance to the Tree Of Life."
"What?! Kiara! That will take days!"
"We have no choice. Only Kion and the Guard can help us. Only the roar can save us from Zira and her allies."
"So maybe it's better to take someone with me."
"I will.", Janja suddenly appeared.
"Great. Thank you, Jasiri. Now I will look for a... uh... friend.", Kiara seemed happy when talking about that "friend". (When Kiara went looking for Kovu, before Love Will Find A Way.)
"Well, Madoa. It looks like you're going to lead more than one day."
"Don't worry, Jasiri. They really need help as soon as possible."
"Sure, Madoa. Janja. You better go rest. We left before dawn. We have a long journey ahead of us."
"Sure, jasiri. Hum... Where are we supposed to go?!"
"We have to find Kion at the Tree Of Life."
"Oh no."
