In the Human World, the world is a lot more advanced than it was when the last battle took place. The human world is very futuristic now. There are flying cars, human-like robots, and all type of advanced technology now.
There's this 16 year old teenage human girl named "Yua Nakamura". She lives at home with her parents and goes to school. Yua's father is a cop. She has a older brother named "Aimoto Nakamura" who graduated and moved out 2 years ago. Her parents also own a robot named "30-X". 30-X helps the family out a lot by cooking and doing chores.
Yua is very intelligent and gets good grades at school, but she is very shy and so she doesn't have that many friends. But all of that is going to change when she meets Lis.
When Lis enters the Human World with her book, the first place she lands at is on a beach. She doesn't notice anything different at first until she sees how human live and behave. She is weirded out, but also amazed at the same time. So she starts looking for a book owner. She has terrible luck finding a book owner at the beach, so she decides to wonder off in the city.
Yua's father (while on job) sees a little girl wondering off in the city, and so he decides to talk to her. When she tells him she's looking for someone, he decides to take her to the police station. At the police station, Lis tells Mr. Nakamura that she doesn't have any family that lives around here and she tells him she doesn't want to go back to a orphanage. Feeling bad, he decides to take her and have her live at his house for a while until her real family comes and finds her.
Later in the day, Mr. Nakamura tells his family about the news, which Mrs. Nakamura is perfectly fine about having a random kid live in their house for a while, but Yua doesn't since she thinks the kid is going to interfere with her studies. Yua warns Lis that she better not interfere with her studies or else, in which Lis replies, "you can count on me to do that". Yua sees Lis's book and asks her if she can see that, in which Lis gives it to her.
Yua is outside on a hammock looking at the book, she sees that the book is very strange and can't read most of it, but then she sees one part that she can read. However, Lis goes outside to tell Yua dinner is ready, but when she gets to Yua, Yua reads the spell, and then a blast of lighting comes from Lis's body. This scares Yua and makes her realize that Yua is not a normal kid, and then asks Lis "what is she?"
Lis then tells Yua the truth about who she is and why she's here, and asks Yua if she can be her book partner. In which, Yua yells "no" and then tells her she doesn't want anything to do with her. This makes Lis upset and then she runs away with her book, in which Yua starts to feel bad and starts looking for her.
When Lis starts wondering around at a park, there's this one boy named "Ratchet" and his book owner who starts attacking Lis with his metal spells. They are trying to destroy Lis's book.
When Yua goes to the park and finds Lis is badly hurt, she feels horrible and apologizes to her and tells her she will be her book owner, and then she tells her to give her the book, in which Lis hesitantly does.
When Yua reads a spell from the book, a big electric attack comes from Lis's body and then hits Ratchet. This causes Ratchet's book to burn, and after that, his book owner runs off.
At this moment, Yua finally sees a purpose in her life and then promises Lis that she will make her Queen of the Demon World. And at this moment, the two form a bond.
