A/N: Hey everyone, I know I've been gone a while, but I went online and got a new laptop, grabbed some motivation and decided to not go crazy during this Covid-19 stuff. Distance is an odd thing.

Something so insignificant and irrelevant—until it isn't.

Just one insignificant change and the aftermath can cause your life to be thrown into sheer chaos or transform it into a calming storm. After all, even something as simple as pebbles at the bottom of the ocean is proof that chaos can leave things safe from the gravest of destruction.

All that is needed is protection from the storm.

And perhaps, that was where the problem began. It wasn't supposed to happen. It had been a day that had been followed strictly based on routine.

Wake up. Study. Work. Get through the day. Go to bed. Repeat.

The hum of kettle preparing the tea had ensured that the day was supposed to be nothing short of calming. Hell, even the weather and gentle tapping of raindrops against the open window had contributed to the relaxing mood. It was as if the universe had decided that such a day should be nothing short of the perfect combination of tranquility.

Yet, somehow, the routine had been disrupted.

The message that had appeared on the screen was nothing unique. If anything, it did not differ from any of the other greetings that she had received on the app. Yet, she had responded without a second thought.

Just like that, the similarities had begun.
