It's been three hundred years...
Three hundred years since he'd had a falling out with the one person who he never wished to fight with.
The one person who he thought would never leave his side, had left him.
Sesshoumaru walked down the busy, dimly lit streets of Tokyo to clear his head of the past, trying to focus more on the beautiful revsions of his city so that he wouldn't reminisce about the past.
Tokyo had become more modernized since the feudal era had ended.
Kimonos and Yukatas were now only to be worn during special events, there were more bright and bustling cities added, and handfuls of huge buildings towered over everything in sight.
He could care less about them.
He'd been walking around for a while when he heard soft crying coming from a nearby alley.
Normally, he would've completely ignored that and deemed it as annoying but he felt oddly obligated to investigate.
'That is a child's voice.' Sesshoumaru thought to himself as he moved closer to the source of the noise.
In the darkest corner of the alley, he could see a small child with medium length, gray unkempt hair sobbing into his knees, seemingly trying to hide from something.
Sesshoumaru didn't say anything as he walked over to the little kid, amber eyes full of curiosity.
The child seemed to notice his presence and looked up at him with wet cerulean eyes.
Sesshoumaru just looked back at him, not really doing much else.
After a while of studying the kid, Sesshoumaru came to the conclusion that the child was a little boy.
The little boy wiped his eyes and glared at the older male.
"Is thewe a weason that you'we stawing at me siw?" He asked, still upset.
Sesshoumaru only blinked.
"Go 'way." The boy mumbled before laying his head on the wall behind him.
The older male sat on his knees and stared at the boy, trying to analyze the cause of his distress.
He had no idea why he was even bothering with this kid.
He didn't even like kids, but his gut was telling him not to leave this child's side.
"Why do you cry this way?" He asked, genuinely curious.
The boy narrowed his eyes at him again.
"Is thewe a cewtain way I should cwy?" The child asked, folding his arms over his tiny chest.
Sesshoumaru strangely found that adorable.
'This child can't be older than three our four. What is he doing out here all by himself this late at night?'
