Hi everyone! This is my second fanfiction and I can't wait for you to read it! I know this is WAY overused, but it's been on my mind a lot. I will make short author notes at the top so you can already read my story. Constructive criticism please!
I am not Veronica Roth, I do not own anything from Divergent (sadly).
Tris's POV when Eric is going around and asking their job choices.
I passed initiation.
I am Dauntless.
I stand with Will and Christina, Chris biting her nails and Will rubbing her back. I know if I ask Chris what job she wants, she'll freak out even more. But curiosity gets the best of me.
"So, what job do you want, Christina?" I ask her innocently.
She glares at me and says, "What did I say! Don't ask me?" she shrieks.
Will chuckles and walks over to me. "She's just nervous because she didn't get in the top names. But, I'm not freaking out. Want to ask me what job I want, Tris?"
I roll my eyes. "Fine. What job do you want, Will?"
"Wall guard. What job do you have in mind, Tris?"
"Initiation instructor." Will grins at me. "With Four?" I blush. "Maybe."
Marlene, Lynn, and Uriah walk up to us. Lynn asks us, "What jobs do you want, transfers?"
Chris glares at everyone. "Can you all just shut up?"
Uriah whistles. "How about no?"
"Why, you son-" Eric walks to us and rolls his eyes. "Job time."
"Tris?"
"Initiation Instructor." This lifts a huge weight off my shoulders, but when Eric raises his eyebrows at me, I don't want to blush, but I can't help it when Tobias wraps his arms around me. "Hey," he whispers in my ear.
"Get a room!" Uriah yells.
"Uriah! What job?"
"Oh. Initiation Instructor."
"Copycat!" I yell at him.
"Lynn?"
"Wall guard."
"Will?"
"Wall guard!" We all smile at his enthusiasm.
"Marlene?"
"Nurse."
"And Christina."
"Control room technician."
Eric scribbles on his notebook. Then he looks up in disgust and rolls his eyes. "Oh, report to your new jobs tomorrow at 8:00. Now go away."
We all laugh as Eric walks away. Zeke and Shauna come by us. "Candor or Dauntless at my apartment tonight!" They leave as quickly as they came.
"Tris, I know you might want to hang out with Tobias-" Christina winks at him, "But you're going to need to come with me."
I turn to Tobias. "What's Candor or Dauntless?"
He smiles at my ignorance. "Truth or dare… except dirtier." He didn't elaborate.
"Mmm kay. Why do I need to come with Christina?"
He grins. "Can't say." Chris takes this as a yes. She grabs my arm. "Come on, Tris! We're going shopping!"
"NO!" I frantically grab Tobias's arm, but he shrugs it off, laughing at my horror. "Pick some good clothes, Tris," he says and winks at me. "Tobias!" I yell. "Help me!"
"Have fun shopping!"
Next thing I know is being dragged from store to store, Christina holding multiple bags and driving me crazy.
"Come on, Tris. You'll love it! It looks good on you!" Chris says, trying to coax me into buying a black crop top that barely comes down to my midriff. "Tobias will love it!"
I groan. "Fine. But not the ripped jeans!"
Chris scoffs. "But you have to get the black ones. And the shirt. And the dress. And the-"
"Okay! I get it. I'll get everything you want, but-" Chris interrupted me. "But what?" I glared at her. "Let me finish an entire thought?" She nods. "But, you can't say anything about my 6th fear. Got it?"
She snickers. "Fine."
I nod. "Let's go." We pay for our things, and I walk back to my apartment. I find Tobias sitting on my couch in my new home. "How did you get in…" he holds up a key.
"Right." I gave Tobias a key in case something would ever happen, especially with Peter still around. "Hi."
"Hello, Tris," he says flirtatiously. "Tobias, what are you-" He surges forward and crashes his lips to mine. He wraps his arms around me and crawls up my back.
"Tobias," I whisper. "We have to get ready."
He unwillingly stops and looks me clearly in the eyes. "We'll continue this later, Tris. See you soon." He walks out the door and winks at me.
I collapse on the couch. How was I ever going to get enough of him?
