"I can't believe we actually did that. It's such a rush that we actually managed to get away with that." The pink haired girl with wings on her back said excitedly as she, along with her two best friends stood on an island in the North Blue after leaving an abandoned Sky Island. The three had been sent there by their parents to kill each other after they'd found out about their friendship, minus the father of the white haired boy. While he didn't exactly support this he knew it wouldn't stop his son.
What the titans hadn't realized is that this was what the trio had been planning all along. They had planned to break off from the trio in order to make names of their own. The fight they did have, both to convince their watchers and make it look like they were dead, was to decide who among them would be captain. After over a week it was decided that Lance would be in charge. Lance inherited his mother's white hair and grey eyes.
"It was absolutely necessary Swiss. Of course we can't exactly keep our intentions a secret completely but at the same time it's not like they'll bother leaving the New World to chase us down. They know that we'll eventually come back to the New World, but until that day we have all the freedom we want. Isn't that right Sun?" He turned towards the unofficial crew's first mate Sun who had dark skin and long spiky black hair (imagine Rob Lucci with that description but muscular and twice as tall).
"Agreed." He gave a short reply but they were both used to his at times blunt way of speaking.
"Alright then, the first order of business is to find some crew members. Using beri I stole from my father by tricking him into a gambling game I manage to get us a ship. It's on the other side of the island at the port. Let's meet there in half an hour after going around town getting some supplies and whatever you guys may feel we might need before taking off." The duo nodded and they each separated. Lance headed back to the ship since he already had everything he needed, what they weren't aware of is that they would make their first member much sooner than they thought.
"I never thought I'd say this, but the country of Wano certainly has some interesting tastes." Swiss says a couple hours after they'd set off from the port town of Sarisk. They had each changed and were wearing outfits traditionally worn by the citizens of the isolated country of Wano.
Swiss' was (Nami's outfit but pink), Sun wore (Luffy's), and Lance (Law's outfit but the Jolly Roger design is of a smiling Moon). Swiss had a strap which held a six shot pistol which she stole from a merchant from the South Blue. Sun had a large red and gold polearm which was strapped to his back. Lance had two katanas strapped to his right hip.
"Captain where are we headed to first?"
"No idea, don't care either. Let's just drift around until we find something, if anything interesting happens then it does. Wake me up when that comes around." With that said, plus knowing that he was serious and wasn't about to do more Sun went to the helm to make sure they didn't drift into a storm or something and Swiss prepared lunch. Lance, being lazier than sand under a rock when there wasn't someone to fight, placed his father's prized hat over his eyes and took a nap on the deck.
"Wake up." It wasn't so much the voice, but the haki infused slap to the face that woke the napping rookie captain.
"I know I said to wake me up but did you have to use haki Swiss?" Lance says as he sits back up from his reclined position, to see that they had a new passenger. "What I miss?"
"A fat cow was raiding a marine ship which we happened to pass about 2 days ago." Lance wasn't too surprised he slept that long, he did go all out in his fight against Sun, plus all the effort that went into planning our escape from our families I was exhausted. "Apparently she was holding him captive for 2 years until we kicked her ass. She's probably still flying around somewhere." Lance had to resist the urge to roll around his ship laughing at that mental image.
"Ok so now explain to me why he's on our ship."
"He said that it's his dream to become a marine, plus he has decent navigational skills so he can get us to the next town quickly which will take about another day. Rumor is there's a monster that's being held by the marines there." The grin on her face said all.
"Fine but don't go overboard, remember the purpose is to stay on the dl." He knew his words fell on deaf ears but it had to at least be said.
As predicted the small group of four managed to reach Shells Town early the next day. They were surprised by how seemingly empty it was. They kept the ship out of sight of the town so as not to scare the villagers, but the whole place just seemed off.
"So remind me who we're looking for again?"
"Bounty Hunter, supposed to be real famous in the East Blue, his name is-" Sun's sentence was cut off by a loud and highly annoying voice. They turned to see an idiotic blonde with a bowl shaped head and wearing a purple suit. He was followed by two marines serving as guards.
"I'm so excited. Today's the day I finally wipe that annoying stain from existence. I can't believe that bitch was actually stupid enough to believe we were gonna let her go, as soon as we get back to the base she'll be executed immediately." Without really knowing why, the blonde extremely pissed him off. Without hesitation he punches him dead in his face and sent him flying into the wooden wall.
"Helmeppo!" The two marines yell out in surprise and worry, knowing that if the marine charge found out they were dead for sure. Not wanting to deal with them Lance knocked them both out with a burst of Conqueror's Haki.
Coby, if he remembered correctly was gaping in shock at his new friend assaulting them like that. Although he was against what they had been boasting about he didn't think he'd attack them without a second thought like that.
"Time to get some information." Coby nearly fainted at the complete 180 of his personality. First he looked like he was going to murder the first person to sneeze, now he was calm and collected.
"So let me get this straight. The moronic blonde I knocked out earlier, Boppo," everyone who heard him sweat dropped, especially Swiss and Sun who knew that he did that on purpose, "arrested this swordswoman who showed up a few days ago and tortured her because she killed his pet."
"Yes. I feel bad because if it weren't for her, Helmeppo's vile pet would've surely killed me." The little girl who was the daughter of the owner of the restaurant they were currently eating in. After asking around, and getting hushed lips as a response. The little girl had approached them, understandable cautious as they were total outsiders.
"This is unbelievable. The marines are supposed to be honorable, and yet they're willing going along with horrible things like this and even encouraging it." Out of all of them Coby was the most upset and shocked, understandable since they knew how much becoming a notable marine had been his job, and the only thing to keep him sane during his two years of hell. To see such brutish display by those he so much admired had to be harsh.
"Stay here Coby." He broke out of his pity party and turned towards Lance as he and the others got up to leave. "We'll be back soon." He said with complete serious, making no move to hide his anger.
Not even bothering to see if it was locked Lance drew his black sword (Enma), and sliced the gates in half. They were surprised to see that there weren't any guards around but sensed a large presence of people up on the roof so it somewhat explained things. Using this opportunity they headed towards the execution grounds. When they arrived they saw a dark haired woman wearing a blue jacket and gloves with broken glasses. Having Swiss keep watch Sun and Lance approached her.
A few inches away from her she started to stir. "What do you want." The fact that she was badly beaten, looked like she hadn't eaten in forever, and probably hasn't slept either, yet still managed to glare at them was mildly impressive. "Can't you see I'm busy, go away."
"We wanna help. We came to this town to drop off a friend of ours but once we heard what happened we wanted to help."
"I don't need any help, if I stay like this for just a few more days then I can go."
"That idiot lied to you." Her mask broke for a clear second as his words reached her. "We heard him and his buddies bragging about it when we entered town, he's planning to execute you today. We spoke to the little girl you saved, he has no intention whatsoever of upholding his end of the deal." The woman wanted to believe that was true, but after thinking it over for a minute she realized that they were right, it definitely sounded like something that the dumbass would do. "Let's make a deal. We'll get you out of your bindings and save you if you agree to join my crew.
It was clear from the look on her face that she'd rather commit suicide than say yes but as she thought about it she realized that she didn't really have any other option and they seemed like decent people for pirates.
"Fine. But that stupid brat Helmeppo took my sword and is keeping it as a trophy, if you get it back for me then I'll agree." Nodding his agreement Lance looked around for something that could be used as a distraction when he remembered the large amount of presences on the roof. He looked up and saw them trying to lift a statue and saw his chance.
"Razor" He disappeared from where he was standing using a combination of Shave and Moon Walk and appeared on the roof. The sudden weight shift caught the marines off guard and caused them to lose their grip for a second. That second was all that was needed as they lost their grip and the statue ended up falling and smashing into the side of the building, breaking the head and sending the pieces to the ground below.
He looked around the roof for a familiar face as he sat on the ruined upper half of the statue when he heard an annoyingly girly voice yell out. "That's him daddy, that's the one who hit me earlier." Smirking he used Shave to appear in front of him.
"You're coming with me." Then he dragged him by the leg, purposefully bumping his head into every corner he could find and ran out, with the marines in pursuit.
"Damn it, kill that insolent brat for daring to defy me!"
"Captain Morgan sir," a marine grunt said, shaking in his boots as he knew that the report he was about to give could cost him his life.
"What!" The ax handed man barked out angrily at the poor marine with a glare.
"There's some people in the execution yard, it looks like they managed to free the prisoner."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY!" His shout of anger so strong they could actually hear the capital letters.
"Are you sure this is the right room. Oh he passed out." While he inherited his father's strength, his mother's temper was also included in that. The blonde whom he'd dragged all around the base was laying battered and bruised on the floor in front of him. Deciding that he was probably in the right spot he kicked down the door, and immediately threw up. The room was too girly to be human. In the corner of the room was a katana with a green hand and a four petal design.
Grabbing it he prepares to leave when he heard a commotion from outside. Seeing Coby lying on the ground clutching his shoulder, and the other marines holding guns at his crew he knew that they would be okay but decided to be theatric either way. Taking out Enma again he made a quick slash before sheathing it slowly just as he heard loud sounds of fighting from outside. As he fully sheathed the blade the whole wall of the base he was facing fell down, purposefully not burying anyone.
Things were looking like it'd be fun. Right now me, Swiss, Coby, and the swordswoman whose name I couldn't remember were surrounded by the arrogant captain who ran the base and his grunts. Giving a nod to Swiss after they shot Coby, and I could sense that Lance was nearby so this would be quick I grab my weapon from my back as Swiss grabbed her gun.
"Thunder." She ate the Ammo Ammo fruit which let her makes bullets out of whatever she wanted. Shooting three bullets from her gun they flew towards the confused marines. As they neared them they stopped in mid air and suddenly started glowing a bright blue. Five seconds later lightning started shooting out and electrocuted most of them. As the ax guy tried to act I appeared in front of him and hit him across the face with the staff. He was sent back several feet but was still conscious as my goal was to distract him for now. Although I was a bit impressed as I could see that the blow was really heavy on him.
Just as I was about to see how much more I could smack him around we both had to quickly dodge out of the way as part of the building almost came down on us. I didn't need to look up to know that the boss was smirking at us.
Using the the opportunity to get past the stunned marines Lance hopped down from where he was standing on what was left of the fourth floor and used Shave to get over to where the others were.
"I believe this is yours." He says as he hands his sword over to the numb girl. She'd trained with a blade all her life yet never thought what she had just seen could be done with a sword alone, she thought only Devil Fruit users could, and from what she'd seen he didn't have any.
"How, how, on earth did-" She cut herself off as she saw something behind him and drew her sword to cut down Morgan who had recovered from his surprise and had attempted to cut them down. "Iai." She said as she disappeared and reappeared behind him and similar to Lance earlier, resheathing her blade as Morgan's ax broke and he collapsed to the ground, bleeding slightly from his wound.
Readjusting her glasses she turns around to her new leader. "I thank you for returning my sword and freeing me. I am a woman of my word and will join your crew. But just know that if you get in the way of my dream I will cut you down."
"That's fine. Yours dream is yours to follow. Out of curiosity what is your dream." He said genuinely curious, plus all the goons were unconscious or too stunned at the defeat of their boss to do anything right now.
"I will surpass the strongest swordsman in the world and take his place. I swore on the life of a dear friend that I would become the world's strongest." She said as she solemnly looked at her sword which was a memento from him.
"Perfect, the King of the Pirates would expect nothing less. Now let's go to the bar, all that running made me hungry." The female swordsman just stared a bit confused at his bluntness. She looked around and saw that the remaining marines had been tied up by ropes from who knows where and the other male was standing over the idiot blonde from earlier who had several bumps on his head.
As she walked to the restaurant with the group she couldn't help but wonder 'What did I just get myself into?'
"So let me make sure I understand everything correctly. The three of you are from the Grand Line, which you left because each of your respective parents don't get along with each other and you wanted to be independent of them." She said summing up the half hour explanation after they ate their food. Since they'd saved the town the gracious mother gave it free of charge.
"Pretty much. There's more to be said which will be explained after we get a few more crew members. But for now our identities are being kept quiet otherwise things will get dangerous." She understand, she was very confused but understood. "Oh yeah I forgot I still haven't properly introduced myself yet. My name is Tashigi, for awhile I was a bounty hunter and you know the rest." Just as Lance was about to dig into his ninth plate the door opened and a platoon of marines walked in.
"While we're grateful for you saving us from Captain Morgan I'm afraid we can't allow the four of you to stay here." That got a very negative reaction from the marines but the now quartet got up to leave without a fight.
"Isn't he with you?" Commander Ripper asked referring to Coby.
"Nah, he's just some stranger who happened to arrive at the same time as we did." Lance walked out with a smirk on his and the others' faces as Coby asked the commander to let him enlist.
"Where to now captain?" Tashigi asked her boss. Since she had the most knowledge on it she was dubbed the temporary navigator.
"Don't care. Just set a course towards the nearest island or whatever." His lax attitude was beginning to grow on her. As they started to shove off Coby appeared at the docks in a salute.
"Thank you guys for everything. I promise to become a lot stronger by the time we see each other again." Behind him were the rest of the marines joining him in a salute send off.
"Well would you look at that." Lance said as he waved them off with a small smile on his face.
"Who would've thought would ever salute pirates." Sun said jokingly as he grabbed some sake bottles. As the island got smaller and smaller they each wondered what the future would hold.
In case you didn't know this is a redo of a story I briefly had out a few weeks ago. This will be based off an idea I've been trying for months to develop so it'll go a bit slow
