So here we go, the story that I actually wanted to write. The whole Voice of the Fire Dragon thing was basically me dipping my toes into the whole writing thing to see how I'd do, but this is the story I really wanted to do. If any of you read read that story and like it, don't worry I still plan on making new chapters for it as well. I just always wondered what a crossover between the Loud House and Seven Deadly Sins would look like, and I noticed that there aren't any, so I decided to take a crack at it myself. And since we're in the middle of a quarantine, I figured I'd have the time to write a few chapters. So here it is: The Loud House: Royal Knights. I wrote this chapter in basically one sitting so I definitely rushed it a little and it's not the most refined thing, and I'm not really a fan of how I write dialogue. I'm still gonna have to work on that. I'm working under the assumption that most of you reading this are Loud House fans, so the first bit of this chapter is an extremely overly simplified summary of the Seven Deadly Sins. If you're familiar with it you can just skip it. If you don't want spoilers, and you haven't read it or are anime-only... you have been warned (I still highly recommend it if you're not familiar with it). I'm starting this with NSL, since while yes it's cliche as hell, it is a really good catalyst for the rest of the story. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Loud House is owned by Nickelodeon and Chris Savino. Nanatsu no Taizai is owned by Nakaba Suzuki.
Chapter 1: Dawn of a New Era
In ancient times, the land of Britannia was inhabited by the great clans of the Humans, Fairies, Giants, Demons, Goddesses, and the many races of Beastfolk. Throughout history the various races had lived either in harmony, or waged war with one another. Even in times of peace, the races and various kingdoms still got into feuds, and scuffles, but overall, they were tolerant of one another. However, eventually the animosity between the Demon and Goddess clans boiled over, and thus began the First Holy War.
Initially, the two sides proved to be about evenly matched. The Demon Clans armies were led by the Demon King's very own elite group of hand picked warriors, the Ten Commandments. Each member was not only an exceptionally powerful demon, but were also gifted with a Commandment, or curse that amplified their already great power and gave them a unique curse that could be placed upon others should certain conditions be met. Among those in the unit included both the Demon King's own sons. There was the younger of the two, Zeldris, the Commandment of 'Piety' who was renowned for his near peerless swordsmanship. And then there was the Demon King's firstborn son, and heir apparent. The leader of the Ten Commandments, and Commandment of 'Love', Meliodas. His power was said to be second only to the Demon King himself, and was known for his cruelty, and bloodlust. His command over the power of darkness was legendary, with even the mightiest of demons cowering before his very presence.
To answer the power of the Ten Commandments, the Supreme Deity created her own elite group of warriors to fight in her stead, the Four Archangels. They too were the greatest warriors of the Goddess Clan, and were each granted a divine Grace, which imbued them with a special ability. Sariel and Tarmiel were granted the graces of 'Tornado' and 'Ocean' respectively, which effectively gave them control over wind and water. They formed something of a dynamic duo as they could combine the powers of their graces for devastating results. However, above them was the leader of the Four Archangels, Ludociel. Given the Grace of 'Flash', which allowed him to move at nearly the speed of light, he led the effort to purge the world of the Demons in what was his eyes a just and glorious crusade. He pursued this goal with extreme prejudice, taking no prisoners. However, even his power paled in comparison to that of his younger brother Mael. Bestowed with the Grace known as 'Sunshine' Mael's power would rise with the sun, and would reach its peak at noon, during which time he became a nigh invincible being, whose power even rivalled the Gods themselves before his power would eventually wane with the setting of the sun. Aside from the Four Archangels, there was also the Supreme Deity's own daughter, Elizabeth. While she was initially known as 'Blood Stained Ellie' for her merciless slaughter of countless Demons, she eventually came to see that the Holy War was only causing suffering for both sides, and that they, in fact weren't too different from one another. She would from then on become known for her deep rooted compassion for all life, and would try to settle conflict peacefully wherever it arose.
Ironically, it would be her to turn the cold-hearted Meliodas over to the side of peace as well. Having fought each other numerous times, the two eventually began trying to see each other more and more often, eventually falling in love. Having seen the error of his ways, Meliodas abandoned the Demon Clan, and worked with Elizabeth to stop the Holy War. The Archangel's however, took advantage of the Demon clan's newfound vulnerability, rallied the Human, Giant, and Fairy clans into the alliance known as Stigma to crush the Demons once and for all. However, thanks to the interference of Meliodas and Elizabeth, whole scale slaughter on either side was avoided, though both the Fairy King and Giant King went on to join the Ten Commandments. Eventually, the Commandment of 'Selflessness', Gowther, who had been kept a prisoner by the Demon King devised a plan to end the Holy War himself. Using all of his magic and life energy, he manipulated the memories of everyone who knew Mael into believing he was killed by someone who didn't even exist, the Demon King's middle son, Estarossa. At the same time, Mael had his own memories changed into believing that he was Estarossa. Stripped of his Grace, and given Meliodas' Commandment, Mael, now Estarossa became one of the Ten Commandments. With their most powerful member gone, the Goddess Clan felt they had lost all chance of defeating the Demon Clan, at least not without grave sacrifices. In order to stop the Demons, the Goddess clan sacrificed their corporeal forms and sealed the Demons away in the 'Coffin of Eternal Darkness'. At the same time, Meliodas and Elizabeth were confronted by their parent's who cursed them for their forbidden love, and interference in the Holy War. Meliodas was cursed with Immortality. He would not age, and should he be killed he would inevitably come back to life, albeit with his emotions being devoured more with each resurrection, which could eventually turn him back to his old ways. Elizabeth was cursed with perpetual reincarnation. SHe would be reborn as a human with none of her memories intact, but she would always end up finding and falling in love with Meliodas. Over time, she would regain her Goddess powers, and eventually her memories. However, each time she does, she will inevitably die three days later, only to be reborn again.
Fast forward 3,000 years and the land now comprises multiple kingdoms. Protected by the Holy Knights, kingdoms such as Camelot and Liones prospered, while others like Edinburgh and Danafor were unfortunately destroyed. Liones rose to become the most powerful of the kingdoms, and with it the most powerful and notorious squad of Holy Knights, the Seven Deadly Sins. Led by none other than Meliodas, now the Sin of Wrath himself, the sins also comprised Merlin, Sin of Gluttony, the greatest mage in all of Britannia and an old friend of Meliodas and Elizabeth. Gowther, Sin of Lust, a doll given sentience and was a creation of the original Gowther. Ban, Sin of Greed, a human thief who drank from the Fountain of Youth to gain immortality albeit at the cost of the Fairy King's Forest and the life of his love, Elaine. Diane, Sin of Envy, a giant girl who unlike the rest of her clan didn't relish in violence and wished to have Meliodas' affections, King, Sin of Sloth, the rather neglectful Fairy King, older brother to Elaine and future lover to Diane, and Escanor, Sin of Pride, the disowned prince of the now destroyed Castelio kingdom who has somehow inherited the Grace 'Sunshine' after it left Mael, waiting for a new host. Together the Sins alongside one of Elizabeth's reincarnations, now a princess of Liones, worked together to foil a plot by the Demon Fraudrin to instigate a coup against the Kingdom by manipulating the Holy knights all in an attempt to revive the Demon Clan, despite having been framed for the murder of the chief Holy Knight, Zaratros ten years prior. Though they won the day, Fraudrin succeeded in reviving the Demon Clan, and freeing the Ten Commandments. The two sides would wage war against one another as the Demons sought to conquer Britannia once and for all. Eventually, Meliodas was killed by Estarossa and though Liones was liberated and Meliodas came back, the Demons still held onto Camelot and Meliodas was beginning to regress to his old self. Diane and King were successful in turning their predecessors away from the Ten Commandments, and the Sins made their way to Camelot. There they stopped Melascula the Faith, and destroyed the barrier around Camelot. Unfortunately, in the fighting Meliodas had completely reverted back to his old self and Cusack and Chandler, the two highest ranking Demons after the Demon King himself were revived. Meliodas decided that the only way to break the curse on him and Elizabeth was to absorb the Ten Commandments, and become the next Demon King. To stop Meliodas, The Seven Deadly Sins teamed up with the revived Archangels, other Holy Knights, Fairies, and Giants to recreate Stigma, and stop the Demons. Thus the Second Holy War began. Meanwhile, King Arthur of Camelot had tried to stop Meliodas himself, but was killed, and Ban went into Purgatory to retrieve Meliodas' emotions from the Demon King. Meliodas recruited Chandler, Cusack, Zeldris, and Estarossa to help him, but Estarossa had planned on taking the Commandments for himself, killing several surviving members in the process to become the Demon King and have Elizabeth to himself. During the conflict, Gowther's spell over everyone who knew Mael had worn off, and the truth about Estarossa was revealed. The now reawakened Mael still attempted to take the Commandments anyway, having been corrupted by them, and even killed Sariel and Tarmiel in the process. Gowther, with the help of King, Diane, and Elizabeth was able to get through to Mael and have him expel the Commandments. Mael joined the Seven Deadly Sins to stop the Holy War, and prevent Meliodas from becoming the Demon King. While that was happening Ludociel, Merlin, and Escanor had gone to confront Zeldris, Cusack, and Chandler who were guarding Meliodas whilst he absorbed the Commandments. The two traded blows for some time, but neither side could gain a definitive edge, so Cusack and Chandler remerged into their original form to become the Original Demon. Escanor and Merlin attempted to stop him, but were powerless against him. Merlin attempted to freeze time around Meliodas, while Escanor and King, who was fighting at long range, held the Demons off. Escanor was blown away, but saved by Mael. Ludociel tried to hold back the Original Demon, but his power kept on growing thanks to his 'Crisis' ability. The two were saved by the timely arrival of Mael and the other reinforcements who quickly dispatched the Original Demon and Zeldris. Unfortunately, Meliodas succeeded in absorbing the Commandments, but instead of him becoming the new Demon King, his body had in fact become a vessel for the Demon King to inhabit. Through the efforts of Ban, Meliodas' consciousness, and even Zeldris, the Demon King and Commandments were expelled. Meliodas used his newfound power to break the curse on him and Elizabeth, and the Holy War ended… But not before the Demon King had a chance to take over Zeldris' body and try to take over the world, only to be stopped by the Seven Deadly Sins and Gelda, Zeldris' vampire lover once and for all. Meliodas sacrificed his divine power to destroy the Commandments and prevent the Demon King from returning again. Sadly, the battle would cost Escanor his life, who fought with all his prideful might for the sake of his comrades. Merlin would revive Arthur as the King of Chaos, and the Sins would go on to become Kings and Queens in their own right, with children of their own, but that's another story for another time.
Many centuries later and the world has changed dramatically. Many of the tales of King Arthur and his exploits had faded into legend. Those before him, being even more obscure. The Giants and Fairies had seemingly disappeared, and magic was now considered a myth. Still, the ancient power had never truly disappeared, it simply went into hiding. Waiting for the next era to rise again. It seems a new darkness may plague the world, and with it a new generation of heroes to combat the threat.
That brings us to the dainty town of Royal Woods, Michigan. The town is normal enough. It's got 3 schools for each level, an arcade, a mall, multiple restaurants, and a gas station owned by a sleazy, old, opportunistic, cheapskate. However, the most notable thing about the town would have to be the notorious Loud family. Comprising the two Parents Lynn Sr. and his wife Rita and their 11 kids. 10 daughters and 1 son to be exact.
Lori, 17, is the oldest of the loud children. Known for bossing around her younger siblings and taking advantage of their inability to drive places to get them to do what she wants. She's also known for constantly being on her phone, taking selfies, and texting her Boyfriend Bobby. She also has a habit of blowing her siblings off and telling them to stay out of her room, or she'll turn them into a 'human pretzel'. Still, underneath her admittedly bitchy exterior, she does genuinely care for her siblings, and takes her job as caretaker to them seriously. She's practically a second mother to some of the younger ones.
Leni, 16, is known for being the ditzy blonde. She's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she makes up that with her heart of gold. She cares deeply for her siblings, and will do anything for them. She's known as being both the nicest and arguably prettiest of the Loud sisters. She's also surprisingly skilled at fashion. You could give her an old curtain, and a sewing kit, and chances are she'll make something fashionable out of it.
Luna, 15, is the musician in the family. A punk rocker through and through, she likes to spend her time shredding on her guitar, though she can still play just about any instrument under the sun. Despite looking like a delinquent punk, she's surprisingly shill and really likes hanging with her siblings, friends, and just having a good time… even if she can go a little overboard sometimes. She's also in a band with her friend and secret crush, Sam Sharp.
Luan, 14, is the family comedian. You'll often find her pulling pranks, making really bad puns, or practicing her ventriloquism with her puppet Mr. Coconuts. She was also known for basically turning April Fool's Day into a G-rated version of SAW. Despite her multiple poor attempts at comedy, and slightly sadistic tendencies, all she really wants is to make people happy, and nothing pleases her more when she makes her family laugh. She also runs her own business called 'Funny Business' on the side, doing birthday parties and such.
Lynn Jr., or just Lynn, 13, is the athlete in the family. Pick whatever sport. If you can name it, she's probably played it at least once. She's a rather intense individual, with an ego to match. She's known for performing her good-luck rituals both on and off the field. Despite her great athleticism, her sportsmanship comes up lacking. She can't stand losing, and is often too stubborn to admit her faults, choosing to blame others. She also has a tendency to be overbearing, which has impacted her ability to get along with her teammates, save for some of her closest friends like Margo.
Lucy, 8, is the eldest of the younger 5 sisters. She's a goth who is all about vampires, spiritual rituals, bats, and darkness in general. She has a pet bat named fangs, and a bust of her favorite character Edwin, from her favorite show, Vampires of Melancholia. She's also an aspiring poet, who prefers to spend her time in the air ducts, writing new material.
Lana, 6, is the eldest of the two twins. She's a tomboy through and through. She enjoys playing in the mud, and loves animals, especially reptiles. She even keeps a collection of pets in her room, including her frog/best friend, Hops. She's also the handywoman in the family, responsible for taking care of the plumbing, Vanzilla, and basically keeping the house together. She also enjoys tinkering with Lola's miniature car.
Lola, 6, is the younger of the two twins and is the exact opposite of Lana. Unlike her tomboy sister, she is about as girly as you can get. Known for acting like a princess, and taking part in multiple pageants, Lola is known for her bratty, manipulative behavior. She'll often blackmail her siblings to get what she wants, and is known for her quick temper. God help anyone who stands in her way because she will take you down. She's also quite vain and obsessed with beauty. Despite all that, she is still a sweet 6 year old kid underneath who will let her vulnerable side show through once in a while, and she can't imagine life without her siblings.
Lisa, 4, is the family prodigy. At only 4 years old she already has multiple PhDs and inventions under her belt, even if most of them end in massive explosions. She's known for speaking primarily in scientific terminologies which tends to confuse those around her, and she also has a lisp. Her intellect has given her quite the ego as well and she prefers to disregard both her own and others emotions, but deep down she does care for her family, and even she needs to let loose her emotions once in a while and just be a kid.
Lily, 15 months, is the baby of the family. Not much can be said about her save that she's the little ray of sunshine for the whole family. Despite having a vocabulary that's mainly limited to her saying "Poo-poo" she's quite a bit smarter than she lets on. There's no telling what her talent will be when she grows up, but the whole family knows that she has plenty of potential.
Lastly, we get to the sole boy and middle child in the Loud House. Lincoln, 11, is your average 5th grader. He enjoys comic books, video games, watching the show ARGGH!, and hanging out with his friends. Unlike his sisters, who all have their own special talent, Lincoln has always been the Jack-of-all-trades in the family. He doesn't necessarily excel in any particular category, but he is a very flexible individual who has picked up a number of skills over the years, allowing him to work with and complement each of his family members. These include coaching Lola for her pageants, having some skills at the drums and bass for when Luna wants to jam, and helping Leni with designing outfits among other things. While his lack of a specific talent has given way to some internal conflict about his place in the family, and if he's just meant to be a crutch for his sisters' success he hasn't let that get to him. He knows he has time to figure things out. After all, he's the 'man with a plan'. Lincoln's greatest skill is his ability to formulate strategies to surviving the turmoil in the house, and coming out on top. Sure, they end up backfiring more often than not, but he usually ends up learning a valuable lesson from which he can improve himself, and his plans have at times gotten the family out of a bind. Overall, Lincoln may be the glue that holds the family together.
Too bad he was having a hard time understanding the lesson in all this right now…
"What's your deal Lynn?" complained Lincoln who was currently out in the backyard with Lynn at about 6:30 am, still wearing his pajamas.
"My deal, Stinkoln, is that you're still giving us bad luck without the squirrel suit." Said Lynn who was giving him a venomous glare, also still wearing her PJs.
Lincoln then turns to the audience.
"*Sigh* You're probably wondering right now what I'm doing out here with Lynn so early in the morning, arguing over wearing a squirrel suit. Well the short of it is that Lynn made me attend one of her games that I didn't want to go to, since I was the only one of us who hadn't gone to one. I had already attended so many of my other sisters' activities that I felt worn out and just wanted some time to myself, but Lynn was quite insistent that I attend her baseball game." The word insistent being grit through his teeth. "So I went to it, she ended up losing, blaming the whole thing on me cuz I was "bad luck" she said, and spreading that rumor to everyone else. To be fair, I am partially to blame for my predicament since I helped propagate said rumor, but that was only so I could finally get some time to myself, I had no idea my family would take it so seriously. It started with them excluding me from having breakfast with the rest of them, to being left out on family events such as movie night, to even them barricading my room and forcing me to sleep outside." Lincoln teared up a little at that, but maintained his composure. "And that was after I had told them I made everything up, so I figured the only way to get things back to normal was to show them that I wasn't bad, so I disguised myself as the Squirrels mascot at Lynn's championship game, and after she won while I was there, I came clean and proved to them that I wasn't bad luck… Unfortunately, they interpreted it as me wearing the squirrel costume equals good luck, so I was forced to wear it at the beach where I got heat rash, the mall where I got laughed at and made fun of, and even the high school football game, where I got beaten up. After that my parents finally realized what they were doing, and let me take the costume off and come back inside. They apologized profusely for the whole thing, and asked me how they could make it up for what they did. I told them I just wanted to let it go, and forget about the whole thing, but they were insistent they earn my forgiveness. I really didn't want to make this go any further, so I told them it was water under the bridge, and I was still kinda responsible for it anyway. They told me that none of it was my fault, and that it was both selfish and stupid of them to do that to their child." 'understatement of the year' "They were proud of me for being so forgiving about the whole thing, and Dad insisted that he make me some of his special Belgian waffles for breakfast the next day. I couldn't say no to that. So the next day my parents told my sisters that I won't be wearing the squirrel costume anymore, and that the whole bad luck nonsense is to never be spoken of again. Some of my sisters, especially Lynn and Lola were upset about it, but Mom and Dad were really firm in their decision, and silenced any complaints. They seemed skeptical of me at first, but as the day went on they all seemed to forget about it as well. Well, most of them anyway. Lynn gave me the cold shoulder after that, but they all eventually got a talk from Mom and Dad about what their actions have done. They all got really broken up afterwards, and did everything they could to express how sorry they were. I told them it was okay, and it's best to move on from this dark episode, and make sure it never happens again. That only made them feel worse about the whole thing. Even Lynn seemed a little moved by it. I hugged them all, gave them each a kiss on the forehead, told them it was fine and that was that. They wanted to do stuff for me the next couple days afterwards, but by that point I was too drained to even take them up on their offers. Now here we are, four days later and Lynn dragging me out of my room first thing in the morning, squirrel suit in hand, telling me that I'm still bad luck, and that I have to put it back on." Lincoln turned back to Lynn.
"I'm not putting that dumb thing back on. And what do you mean I'm still bad luck? What happened this time?" He asked, now really annoyed.
By this point the sun was starting to come out.
"Yesterday! I lost my field hockey game by 1 point yesterday despite performing all my rituals. You were there, and there's no way I could've just lost like that!" Lynn yelled accusingly, pointing her finger at him.
Lincoln stood there unimpressed. He simply held his hand up to his mouth and yawned. Normally, he'd be mad but it was way too early for him to be dealing with this shit.
"Is that it? You lost a game, a mock up one at that, by one point against guys who were your virtual equals, and all of a sudden you claim it was my doing? Sure I was there. We all went to the park together, but do you honestly think that your loss can be blamed on some dumb superstition." He really just wanted to go back inside. It was obvious she was grasping at straws here. What was she trying to prove?
"I know it was you. And it's not dumb… I-It's the only way I could've lost." Lynn said with slightly less confidence.
'Is that what this is about? I could be sympathetic and break it to her gently… but Lynn's the type of person that can only be reached through cold hard facts.' Lincoln braced himself for what he was about to do.
"You know what I think Lynn." Lynn perked up. "I think you're a sore loser." She was taken aback by his words. "I think you're so desperate to prove that I'm bad luck because you can't seem to justify your loss in any other way. You refuse to take responsibility for your own failures and try to pin them on others, because in your mind you're the greatest there ever was and you can do no wrong on the field. You're literally incapable of comprehending the fact that you, the great 'Lynnsanity' can actually lose once in a while, and instead of taking that loss to heart and using it as motivation to improve your game or address your faults, you rationalize it as something as abstract and non-existent as bad luck. You blamed me, your little brother, for screwing up your game with my presence alone because your massive ego won't let you admit that maybe, just maybe, you were partially to blame for your own loss, or that the other team simply outperformed you." Lincoln spoke in the most even tone he possibly could. He even made Lynn flinch a little. "Maybe you're just too proud to admit that your loss was your own fault… or maybe you're scared."
"Scared of what?" Lynn said threateningly. She was starting to get really angry at Lincoln, but she was also a bit curious about where he was going.
"You're scared of being wrong. That everything you did to me, everything you convinced the family to do was built on a lie, and if you're wrong then you know you've done something horrible to your own family. And rather than acknowledge that unpleasant truth, you choose to go back to that comforting lie. You're so desperate to vindicate yourself, that you're grasping at straws if even that to prove your point. If you're wrong then that means you've put me through a world of hell for nothing, and all your stupid rituals are just a bunch of bullshit." Lynn winced at that. "So instead of having to admit that you were wrong, and that you have shortcomings like any normal person would, you continue to push this bad luck narrative because continuing to punish me under it is preferable to admitting that you did all that for nothing. You lost, you blamed me for it, I get punished, and you get off scott-free. And you can't stand that. The truth hurts… doesn't it." Lincoln finished. He honestly had no idea where that came from. Standing up to Lynn like that. For some reason he just felt like he had been given the courage to give her a piece of his mind. It made him feel good. It made him feel… proud.
Lynn on the other hand was fuming. How dare he. HOW DARE HE! Normally Lynn might've been proud of her brother sticking up for himself, but right now she was too angry to think straight. That little shit just tried to call her out like that. No way was she going to stand for it.
"Take it back." She said threateningly.
"No." Lincoln said nonchalantly.
I said. Take. It. Back." She narrowed her eyes, and clenched her fists.
"Or what? You're gonna beat me up? Bring out the bat again?" He said mockingly. "I'm not scared of you Lynn. Frankly, I'm sick of you, and if you so much as try to put that costume on me, there will be consequences." This time his tone came off more threatening. He wasn't sure where this self confidence was coming from, but it felt good. "If you do that, all you're proving is that you're both a sore loser, and a bully." He got up in her face.
That was the last straw. If there was one thing Lynn hated more than anything, it was a bully, and to be called one by her own brother to her face. At that point all she could see was red. A better part of her conscience told her to just drop the whole thing and admit he was right, but between her stubbornness and raging hormones her body moved on its own and she screamed.
"You're dead!" She lashed out, tackling Lincoln to the ground.
At that moment, all the previous courage Lincoln had felt melted away and was replaced with unbridled fear. 'This is not how I planned on things going.' he thought to himself before he put his arms up to defend himself. Lincoln knew he wasn't a fighter and Lynn was so much stronger and athletic than him, so he was doing everything in his power to stop her from striking him too hard. He tried yelling for help, hoping his parents, or other sisters could hear him, but it was hard with the beating he was currently receiving.
A few minutes earlier
The other Louds were currently asleep in their rooms. All but one. It seems Lucy had heard Lynn sneaking out of their room. She saw her go into Lincoln's room to wake him up, and bring him outside. She wanted to ask them what was going on, but she wasn't the confrontational type, so she opted to observe what was happening from outside the window.
A bit into the conversation, and Lynn's yelling had woken up Luna and Luan.
"Ugh, what's that racket brah?" The rocker wondered as she sat up still half asleep.
"I dunno, but it sounds like it's coming from the backyard." Said Luan, rubbing her eyes.
The two sisters got up, and made their way to the window. They were surprised by what they saw.
"What are those two doing?" Luna wondered.
"It seems they're arguing about something. From the looks of it Lynn's accusing Lincoln of something." remarked Luan.
"At this hour? What could she be-" the words died in her throat when she noticed what Lynn was holding.
"Uh-oh." was all Luna could say.
"What? What uh-oh?" Luan asked. Luna simply pointed to Lynn's hand, and Luan's face paled. 'She wouldn't'.
"What do we do?" Luan asked.
"Open the window and keep an ear out for what they're saying. I'll go wake Lori." Luna left to get the oldest sister. She would've gone to her parent's, but they had gone out to a really late dinner last night and would be out cold for at least another 3 hours. It was up to Lori to help fix this. 'What is that idiot thinking.'
Steeling her nerves, Luna knocked on Lori and Leni's door. "Lori, Lori!" she whisper-shouted. No answer. This time she knocked harder and began calling her name more. Eventually, Lori came out in a rather grumpy mood.
"Okay, what do you need that could be so important that you have to wake me up at 6:30?" as usual, Lori was not happy that someone had interrupted her sleep.
"Yeah, like, what's going on?" Apparently, Luna's knocking had woken up Leni as well. Along with the twins and Lisa.
"What is the meaning of this Luna? You know I need at least 8 hours of beauty sleep, and you know what happens when I don;t get my beauty sleep?" said a cranky Lola.
"Yeah, what's the deal? Why are you all worked up?" said Lana, rubbing her eyes.
"I must concur with my elder sisters here. For what reason have you disturbed our much needed slumber, 3rd eldest sibling?" yawned Lisa. "You're lucky you didn't wake up Lily."
"Look dudes, I'm sorry for waking you all, but Lincoln and Lynn are out back fighting over the bunny costume and-" Luna was cut off as all the loud sisters sprinted to her and Luan's room.
"Lemme see."
"Move over."
"Everyone shush, I'm trying to hear."
They all settled at the window to hear what was going on.
They heard Lynn demanding him to put the squirrel costume back on.
"You've gotta be kidding me." said Lana.
"Is she literally insane. She's still convinced that he's bad luck after all this time?" Lori said, very displeased with Lynn's behavior.
"How long has this been going on for?" Lola wondered out loud.
"About 10 minutes." Lucy said from behind them.
The other sisters jumped and had to hold their mouths just to stop themselves from giving them away to the two outside.
"Jesus Lucy. We really need to put a bell on you." Luan remarked, holding her hand to her chest as her heart rate went back to normal.
"Sigh, as always I'm the shadow of this family. Anyway, I heard Lynn get up a little while back and take Lincoln outside. It seems she still hasn't learned her folly." the goth in her usual depressed tone.
"The sisters all turned back to the argument happening outside. Lori was ready to sprint down out the back door to stop them if things went south, but for now they wanted to see how Lincoln handled this. He was usually good at handling these sorts of things. They continued listening, and were all surprised when Lincoln told Lynn out.
"Wow." said Lana.
"I knew he had a way with words, but this is some next level articulation right here." remarked Lisa.
"Damn, he's really leaning into her." Luan said.
"Heh, more like tearing her a new one." replied Luna. She was actually enjoying watching Lynn get chewed out. It was about time the jock got her comeuppance, and Lincoln was giving her one of the most eloquent verbal lashings she had ever seen.
"Tearing her a new what?"
"Uh, nothing Leni."
"I have to write that one down." Lucy got out her journal, and began writing.
"Ah, I have to admit, this is definitely worth waking up early for." Lola rested her chin on her hands, enjoying the show.
"Kinda makes ya wonder what he would have to say about the rest of us though." Lana asked out loud. The others paused for a moment before going back to the argument outside. They didn't need to think about that right now.
"Gotta hand it to him. I didn't think the twerp had it in him." Lori said, rather proud of her brother for sticking it to Lynn.
The sisters did feel bad when he brought up the parts about how Lynn got the whole family to go along with the bad luck stuff, but they knew he was more than justified. But the part he brought up about there being consequences if Lynn put him back in the costume raised some serious red flags for Lori, Luna, Luan, and Lisa. Yes they all were aware that what they did was very wrong, and almost certainly illegal. Looking back on it, they were disgusted with themselves. Barring up his room, selling his furniture, making him sleep outside like some animal, and humiliating him on top of that. It was a shock to them that Lincoln even forgave them after all that. It was times like that when they questioned whether they really deserved a brother as good as him. However, Lincoln's not known as the 'man with a plan' for no reason. He's arguably the second most intelligent of all the loud siblings behind Lisa, and is without a doubt more resourceful than even her. He made it clear to them, and their parents that he knew what they did was illegal, and if they ever pulled a stunt like that again, be it to him or another one of their siblings he would get the authorities involved. He didn't want to have to resort to that. He couldn't put himself, or his family through all that pain, so he let the first one slide. They were grateful, but knew their stupidity had nearly destroyed their family, and vowed to do better from then on. But it seems Lynn didn't quite get the memo.
Lincoln finished his rant, and his sisters looked like they wanted to stand up in applause for his stellar performance.
"Wow… he really stuck it to her." was all Luan could say, not even bothering to make a pun.
"Yeah brah. Little man's one hell of a speaker." Luna remarked.
"Ahh, that was amazing~." said Lola with dreamy eyes. She enjoyed the show a lot.
"That was so cool! Lincoln's a straight savage." Lana exclaimed in admiration. The other sisters all voiced their agreement.
"Okay everyone, settle down. Yes, Lincoln gave Lynn the verbal beat down of the century, but we have to see what happens next." Lori calmed them down, and they went back to observing.
They saw Lynn get red in the face, and she was getting more confrontational. But to their surprise, Lincoln held his ground, and it gave them a weird feeling.
However, they were broken out of their musings when they heard Lynn scream and lunge at him. The sisters looked on in horror as Lynn held him to the ground and started beating the shit out of him.
"LINKY!" Came from both Leni and Lola, tears forming in their eyes as it looked like Lynn was out for blood. Despite yelling through the open window, it seems neither one had registered their words.
Lori and Luna both raced as fast as they could down the stairs to break up the fight. 'This isn't good.' 'Please let me make it there in time.' was all they could think.
Back outside, Lincoln was getting the thrashing of his life right now. He didn't expect this to happen. He couldn't even resist anymore since Lynn pinned his arms under her knees leaving him face wide open. With each punch he was becoming a bruised, bloody mess. He simply laid there wondering if this was what he deserved. He deserved to be punished for not being a good enough brother. All the times he formulated those plans, to make life easier. To go behind his sisters' backs or take advantage of them. Perhaps this was God's way of punishing him for his transgressions. He knew he wouldn't get out of this, he knew he deserved this. He was so pathetic. To think he had a place in this family, where everyone was so much more talented and unique than him. The only thing special about him was his hair, and the fact that he was the only boy out of 11 kids… the odd man out. Tears began to fall from his eyes as he wallowed in self pity, barely even registering the pain he was receiving from Lynn's punches.
Lynn kept battering her brother, her fists starting to get covered in his blood. She stopped for a moment when she realized he was crying. She could see the hurt in his eyes. The pain, the betrayal, the lack of life in them. As if he had given up. For a second her eyes widened in shock and horror at what she was doing. She was beating her baby brother to a pulp. The one she always looked out for, the one she had promised to protect no matter what, and now here she was being the very thing she swore to keep him safe from. He was right. She was a bully.
"Lincoln, I-."
But as she continued to stare down at him, something came over her. Her brother couldn't possibly be this pathetic. He was such a wimp to just let himself take a beating like that. She could see it in his eyes. He was pitying himself, he wanted her to do this. This was no brother of hers. Her real brother would be way tougher than this. She always did say that Lincoln could use some lumps to toughen up, and if he was basically asking for it. Who was she to deny him. Her face frowned in anger, and with that she got back to beating him.
The other sisters were looking from upstairs openly crying by this point. The twins buried themselves in Leni's stomach trying to block out the sight and sounds of their brother getting beaten red. Leni in turn buried her face between their heads. She couldn't stand watch, but unfortunately she could still hear each punch and whimper over their own sobbing. Luan, Lisa, and Lucy were having an easier time keeping it together, but not by much.
"We have to get Mom and Dad." Lucy said in an unusually emotional voice.
"I'm afraid that won't do us much good at the moment. Right now we just have to let Lori and Luna put a stop to this barbarism." Lisa replied in frustration.
"Well how long are they gonna take?" Luan said frantically. It had barely been 30 seconds, but it felt like hours from where they were.
Lynn continued to beat down on Lincoln with tears falling out of her eyes by this point. Whether it was out of regret, sadness, or anger it's hard to say, but it seems even she doesn't understand why she's doing this. She just can't stop. With each punch, she also threw insults at him.
"Look at you, always crying when things don't go your way. Trying to butt in when it's none of your business only to make things worse. Always walking around in your underwear reading your stupid comics, you little nerd. Trying to humiliate us to get a place in the trophy case, and in the end you got a Goddamn pity trophy, which is rather fitting if you ask me. Not to mention all the times you screw things up, and make things worse for us. You may talk big, but when the going gets tough you cower like some snivelling little girl. You're a disgrace to this family. You're worthless, and we'd all be better off without you."
Little did she know that her insults had begun stirring a different feeling in Lincoln, and she didn't seem to notice the air around her getting warmer.
She grabbed Lincoln by the collar of his blood stained shirt, and leaned into his ear.
"I wish you were never born." she whispered to him before pulling her fist back and launched it, but before it could hit the mark Lori and Luna had burst out of the back door.
"STOP IT RIGHT NOW LYNN!" Lori screamed at the top of her lungs.
"GET OFF OF HIM YOU LITTLE PSYCHO!" Screamed Luna.
But by the time she heard them, and turned to face them her face had collided with Lincoln's face and a bone crushing sound could be heard. She had nearly smashed his jawbone, and she even knocked out his signature shipped tooth. Lincoln fell to the ground with a thud, blood pooling out of his mouth as he laid there seemingly unconscious, possibly even dead. All the sisters, even Lynn stood there for a good 5 seconds before they all shouted Lincoln's name. Lori and Luna saw the state Lincoln was in and looked like they wanted to vomit. His face was beaten into a bloody pulp. But that feeling was soon replaced with unbridled fury.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" Luna shouted. It was virtually a miracle that they hadn't woken up the whole neighborhood by now, but when you live around the Loud House you learn to tune things out.
"Do you have any idea what you've done Lynn?!" Lori yelled at the jock.
"I… I…" Lynn couldn't come up with the words to justify what she had just done. What did she just do? She was beginning to wonder that herself as she came back to her senses.
"Get the hell off of him!" Luan yelled from the second floor. Lynn finally turned to see her sisters looking out from the window.
"Umm… how much did you-"
"All of it."
"... Oh."
"Is that all you have to say?! Look at what you did to Linky!" Surprisingly it was Leni that yelled next. It was unusual to see the normally chipper, and sweet blonde so angry, but in this case it was easy to see why.
"I'll make you pay for this Lynn!" Lola yelled, she tried her best to sound angry, but she was partially failing due to her previous crying, and seeing her brother's beaten face only made her break down again as she buried herself in Leni again.
While this was happening, the air around Lynn was beginning to get hotter and hotter. Lincoln was also lost in his own thoughts. 'You're worthless, you always mess everything up, I wish you were never born.' 'I'm pathetic, I'm weak, I don't deserve to be a part of this family.' "No." he said to himself, though no one could hear him. 'I'm not worthless. I'm not weak. I don't deserve this. They're the ones who should be pitied. They're the ones who must be punished for their sins.'
"Get off him Lynn, we need to get him to a hospital. And you need to see a shrink, cuz you've got some issues." Lori began making her way toward Lynn intent to pry her off of Lincoln. Luna looked ready to make a mad dash for Lincoln and get her as far away from Lynn as possible.
Lynn took one look at Lori and knew she was in for it, but with the last shred of her overinflated ego, she tried to defend herself.
"Hey! What do you mean I have issues?" Everyone just glared at her. 'Ok, that was dumb.' By this point she had also noticed she was starting to sweat, and her breathing became more laborious. 'Huh, when did it get so hot all of a sudden.' She pushed those thoughts back for now.
By this point Lincoln had begun to stir. Everyone paused at the sight. Knocking herself out of her stupor, Luna made a beeline for her brother.
"Linc!"
"See. He's fine. No need to get your jimmies ruffled, heheheh." Lynn pathetically tried to diffuse the situation, but the two kept advancing, not even bothering to answer her. She didn't know why she even bothered, but it just wasn't in her to concede, even when all the cards had been laid out right in front of her. She hoped to get any sort of vindication, but her hopes were basically dashed by now. She felt pretty shitty at that. Caring more about her own self-satisfaction than her brothers… well… being. 'Oh my God...' She was about to get off of him and give him some space, but then she felt something grab her arm. She turned to see it was Lincoln's now freed hand grasping it. "Hey, Linc. Are you oka-" But then she felt his grip tighten. "Hey, what's the big idea?" She tried freeing her arm, but Lincoln's grip only seemed to tighten. Almost immediately she felt her arm being practically crushed in his hand "Oww Oww! Linc stop, I'm sorry! What are you doing?!" She yelped in pain. Lincoln should not be this strong, and now he was somehow holding her in place. The other sisters noticed what was happening and paused again. They all looked to see Lincoln clutching onto Lynn's arm. What happened next would be burned into their memories for the rest of their lives.
"How dare you." Lincoln said under his breath.
"Huh?" Lynn asked as she bit back the pain.
"How dare you strike me!" Lincoln's blue eyes opened in an instant, looking at her in sheer rage.
Lynn panicked and tried to get away, but Lincoln wouldn't let go. "Let go of me bro!"
Lori and Luna stood there confused, but tried to stop Lincoln from doing anything rash.
"Lincoln, bro! Stop it, you're already hurt!" Luna yelled over.
"C'mon Lincoln, we need to get you to the hospital." Lori, who was just a few feet away was about to separate them, but then she felt herself be pushed back by a wave of heat. She had to shield her face from it. When she looked back she watched her brother change before her very eyes.
Lincoln picked himself up as Lynn was still struggling to free her arm. Then, just as she was about to strike him again to free herself, Lincoln yelled "Enough!" and easily snapped her arm. A sick cracking sound could be heard as Lynn screamed in agony. Lincoln finally let go, and she reeled her arm back, surprised to also see it with first degree burns.
Lincoln took a couple steps back and panted a couple times before yelling "Raaggh!" Before his body rapidly expanded and turned into a mass of pure muscle.
His sisters looked on in pure astonishment. Where once stood the young 4' 11'' boy who was all skin and bones now stood a nearly 8 foot behemoth of a human being. Complete with the body of a greek god. Lincoln panted a few more times before standing tall over his sisters. His face had begun healing as well. His bruises were fading, his cheek and jawbone were completely fixed, the blood on his face began drying up, and even his tooth seemed to start growing back, albeit without its signature chip. His shirt was gone now, revealing his beyond perfect new body, his pants now barely covered his extremities, also showing off his ridiculously muscled and toned legs, his jawline became more pronounced, and his face overall seemed a bit more mature. His skin also grew slightly more tan. He also carried a great presence to him. As if he was someone to be praised, and despite the horror his sisters were feeling, they couldn't help but be in awe of his magnificent aura. Lincoln then looked down at Lynn who was on the ground, clutching her arm, looking up at… whatever that thing that used to be her brother was in sheer terror.
"Linky?" Leni was the only one who could even utter a word at what they're witnessing.
"You." Lincoln spoke in an extremely deep and masculine voice befitting his new physique. "You have allowed your arrogance to cloud your judgement, and tried to bring harm to me. Such a sin shall not go unpunished." Lincoln pointed at Lynn, and made his way towards her. Lynn tried to crawl away, but she was too afraid, hurt, and mesmerized to get away. Lincoln grabbed her by her good arm, and held her up to his face. Lincoln looked at her with sheer apathy, as if he was bored with his newest plaything. Lynn on the other hand was a sobbing mess. She had no idea what was going on, and was absolutely terrified. She looked into her brother's eyes, and saw the sheer power they now held, the confidence he held. She couldn't even describe how small and insignificant she felt compared to him right now. It didn't help that she was dangling several feet off the ground, and his now massive grip was just a fraction from turning her other arm to paste.
Lincoln just seemed to hold her in suspension, looking at her as if examining something before he gained a smile so condescending it put even Lori, Lola, and Lisa to shame. He pulled Lynn in a little closer, his face a few inches above hers.
"You've greatly fouled my mood… Lynn Loud." Lincoln raised his right hand to strike Lynn. Lynn shut her eyes tightly waiting for the inevitable, but before Lincoln could deliver the final blow, he heard someone call his name.
"Lincoln!" Lincoln turned to see it was Lori who had yelled at him.
Lori, Luna, and the others from the window simply stared at the sight in front of them. Unable to even comprehend what was even going on. They saw their brother go from the meek little kid they once knew, to this titan of a man in a near instant. For a while they were all too dumbfounded to move, to even make a sound. They watched as Lincoln picked Lynn up as if she were a paper weight, and held her up to face. They observed him looking at her as if she were an insect. However, when Lori saw her brother, or whoever that was raising his hand she knew she had to do something to stop him from killing Lynn. Mustering every bit of courage she had, she called his name. That seemed to do the trick since he paused and turned to look down at her. Too bad she hadn't planned on what to do after.
Lincoln looked down at Lori in pure boredom. It was as if she were some sort of minor annoyance. His face so overbearingly condescending, it made Lori sink back. Never once in her life had she felt so small and insignificant, like she wasn't even worthy of walking on the same earth as this man. She wondered if this is how her siblings felt when she used her classic arrogant tone. Nah, this was a thousand times worse. To think it would be the little twerp to do this to her...
"Speak up." Lincoln broke her out of her thoughts with his booming voice. "Why have you interrupted me?"
"O-oh, umm… I… W-Well I…" Lori couldn't even find the words. She was so overwhelmed right now that she just wanted to crawl into her bed and cry. And it appears Lincoln is only getting more annoyed.
"If you're going to have me sitting on your sputtering until you can find the proper words then-"
"Put her down Lincoln." Lincoln turned to see Luna walking up towards him.
"Hmm." Lincoln grew a slight tick mark at being so rudely interrupted, but this one at least had the courage to speak up. He decided he would hear her out.
"Put Lynn down. You don't want to do something you're gonna regret." While she seemed calm on the outside, on the inside she was shaking in her boots, and doing everything she could to not piss herself. She had no idea what was going on, why Lincoln looks like this, but that could be solved later. Right now she needed to stop him from hurting, or even killing their sister, and then find a way to fix this.
"And who are you to demand such a thing from me?" Lincoln's voice was laced with pure arrogance. Luna was at a loss for words, so he turned back to Lynn. "This one needs to learn the consequences of her impudence. If words will not get through to her, then perhaps a more direct approach is needed."
"Lincoln, I know you're upset, and what Lynn did to you was wrong, but this is not the way you're supposed to do things." Luna gained a bit more confidence and took a couple steps closer. "C'mon bro. You're not like that anyway. You're Lincoln Loud. You're a sweet, gentle kid who enjoys comic books, video games, TV, and jamming out with your favorite sister." Luna spoke in a soothing yet playful tone. Lincoln appeared to ponder her words for a moment before huffing.
"If you're referring to my old self, then you can save your honeyed words for him later. Right now I must teach this one what it means to know her place." Lincoln turned back to the sniveling Lynn. Lincoln couldn't help but feel some pity for the pathetic girl in front of him, still he had to do what he had to do.
"You can't!" Lori shouted.
"What now." By this point Lincoln was getting tired of this banter and just wanted it to be over with.
"You can't hurt her!"
"And why can't I? Who's going to stop me? You?" Lincoln nearly laughed at the last bit.
"I… well, maybe not physically, but you still can't!" Lori tripped a bit at his words. "God, this is hard.'
"And pray tell why can't I?" He raised an eyebrow in both amusement and annoyance.
"Because she's your sister." Lincoln's eyes slightly widened at that. Both girls noticed that they managed to crack his shell, they just needed to dig a little.
"Lincoln. That is your name isn't it?" Luna asked trying to see if he knew who he even was since he seemed to regard himself as an entirely different person up until this point.
"Yes… Lincoln. I am Lincoln Loud. I-I'm 11 years old, my parent's names are Rita and Lynn Sr., I attend Royal Woods Elementary, my best friend's name is Clyde, and I have 10 sisters…" Lincoln slowly recalled his memories. He looked down in concentration.
"Good. And what can you tell us about your sisters?" Luna urged him.
"Well… Luan has a passion for comedy… her puns aren't very good, even rather annoying, but she's passionate about her act… and seeing her laughing and spreading joy has always brought a smile to my face. Leni is a fashionista… she's quite ditzy, but I can't think of a single soul more pure than hers… she always puts others before herself, and her smile can brighten even the grimmest of days. Lola and Lana are twins, and yet they couldn't be further apart. One is a pageant princess, and the other is a tomboy, and they've fought more times than I can count. Still they manage to be each other's best friends, and can't live without the other, and they're quite adorable on top of that. Lucy is obsessed with all things dark… she can be spooky at times, but she's not afraid to be herself even when others mock her for it… and I can respect that." Lincoln began recalling each of his sisters one by one. "Lisa… is a child prodigy. She's known for her wacky experiments, and using me and others as her test subjects." He said that last bit with some disdain. "But I can't deny her genius, or the fact that she genuinely wants to do good in the world… and do right by her family. Lily is my little ray of sunshine. The one constant bright spot in my life." He looked up in delight, reminiscing his times with each of his sisters.
The other sisters teared up at his descriptions of them. While he did talk about their faults, he placed more emphasis on their qualities, and it was obvious he held a lot of love and admiration in his words, even if he didn't look like he would admit it. They also couldn't help but be drawn to his voice. It was powerful yet smooth like butter, even if you can still kind of tell he is a kid. There was also a sense of familiarity. When he talked in such an assuring way, they felt so… safe. Like he could do anything, and with the way he spoke it was obvious he would, and probably could move mountains more them.
"That's good Lincoln. Now do you remember us?" Lori spoke up, careful not to provoke him.
"... You're Lori… you're the eldest. You're bossy, condescending, and dismissive of us. You're obsessed with social media and texting… Bobby-boo-boo-bear?" Lori blushed in indignation at his words, but she couldn't deny any of his words. Luna on the other hand was covering her mouth with both hands trying her best not to laugh. "But despite that… you're the most dependable person I know. And there's no way this house would be kept in line without you. In the end your heart is in the right place, and you'll always choose your family first." Lori perked up at his compliment. It felt like a tremendous honor hearing it from Lincoln, especially as he is now. She almost felt unworthy of his praise, but she also felt her heart soar at it.
"And you're Luna. You're the rockstar of the family. You're obsessed with Mick Swagger, and making it big… You're definitely embodiment of the name Loud. You've brought down the roof, quite literally more often than once. Not to mention ruined more than a few concerts." Luna scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. She definitely could get carried away with her rock and roll attitude. Maybe she could turn down the volume a little. "But you're definitely a blast to be around, and there are few who are more talented or passionate in music than you. I always find myself having the most fun when I'm with you… you even managed to make my first SMOOCH concert one to remember for the ages." Lincoln gave her a genuine smile. "You've always looked out for me, and you've always been so understanding. You're the most rockin' sister a guy could ask for." Luna now held her mouth closed again, but this time to hold in her sobs of pure bliss. She didn't know why his words were making her so emotional, but she chocked it up to having an overload of morning craziness. She wanted so much to run up and give her brother a hug, but she knew now wasn't the time, so she resisted the urge.
"You all have your quirks, and you all manage to get on my nerves more times than I can count, but I can't imagine my life without any of you. I wouldn't trade you for the world." The dam broke as the two sisters broke down in tears, albeit ones of joy. Lincoln simply let them be. Though he hated to see a girl cry, especially one of his sisters he knew they were just letting their feelings out. It's a natural thing for beings of lesser stature.
"You do remember us." Luna wiped her remaining tears away.
"I do." He nodded.
"Then you'll also remember who she is." She pointed to the girl in Lincoln's hand.
"Hmm. Oh yes… she is Lynn. Star athlete, though less than stellar sportsman. Competitive to fault, known for her silly rituals during sports events… She's arrogant, stubborn, a little mean spirited, and likes to make me her target practice." His voice dripping with both nostalgia and annoyance. "She's not very good at expressing herself outside of through her fists or on the field, she has an obsession with winning, and she has a habit of bragging about every little one of her accomplishments… and passing gas at every opportune moment." He said that last bit with clear disgust.
It was obvious that Lincoln had more than a few complaints about Lynn. Not that the others could blame him. They always did have a more rocky relationship compared to some of the others, and this whole bad luck fiasco has created a big rift between the two.
Lincoln looked at the pitiful athlete in front of him. She was still crying, but now she was sweating all over, and was on the verge of passing out from both the heat his body's emitting, and the pain she's in. Still, she was conscious.
"Until recently however, I had always looked up to her." He recognized the sheer irony of his statement. "She was the strongest girl I knew, and I could always depend on her to get me out of a rough spot. She's stood up for me more times than I can count, back when I was still a weak little thing. I always admired her strength. I thought that there wasn't a single obstacle she couldn't overcome. Whenever I knew she had my back, I felt like nothing could touch me… because I always had her to keep me safe." For the first time since transforming Lincoln actually showed a hint of vulnerability. Lynn actually looked up in surprise at his words, and Lori and Luna were touched by them as well, but his nostalgic look vanished as soon as it came, replaced with his usual arrogant look. It almost seemed stronger than before too. "It's a shame how far she has fallen. If only she could comprehend that she might not be as great as she thinks." Ok, that was a little harsh they had to admit, but he wasn't necessarily wrong. "Still, she is… family… she's my… she's my sister… and I'm…" Lincoln's eyes widened like dinner plates as he seemed to temporarily snap out of his prideful demeanor, and saw what he was doing to his own sister.
"Oh my God, Lynn!" Lincoln carefully set her down on the ground while Lori went to check on her. For the first time Lincoln seemed to truly comprehend what was going on, and his current state.
"Lynn. I'm so sor-" His words died in his throat as he looked into Lynn's eyes. They held pure terror, and she was cowering before him. He reached out to her and she scurried away behind Lori.
"Get away from me you freak!" Lynn was delusional by this point. Between her hurt arms, practical heatstroke, and everything that has happened this morning, she just wanted to get away. "You're not my brother, you're a monster!" Lincoln flinched at her words. He shouldn't care what others think of him, but this was his sister, and if she was calling him a monster. Lori did her best to comfort Lynn and keep her quiet, but she kept on crying trying to get away from Lincoln.
Lincoln then finally assessed his current form, and looked down at his hands, and at his body. He then turned to Luna, fear becoming apparent in his voice. "Luna… What's happening to me?"
Luna heard the distress in her brother's voice and tried to keep him calm, she dreaded what would happen if he lost it. "Shh shh, it's okay Lincoln we'll figure this out, just keep calm, okay?" She did her best to soothe him, but she was a nervous wreck herself.
Lincoln could only nod in turn.
"Okay, we need to figure something out-." Lori started but was cut off.
"Linky!" They turned to see the other sisters sans Lily make their way outside and to their remaining siblings. On there way out they sent some dirty looks at Lynn, but that was it, they knew she had had enough. Not that she noticed them anyway. Leni wanted to run up and hug him and tell him everything was alright, but was held back by Luan. They didn't know if it was safe to be around him at this point. Even from upstairs they could feel the heat radiating off of him. Not to mention they didn't know how much control he had over his new strength. At least he didn't seem offended. The twins and Lucy were in awe of their brother's new appearance, though they were also more than a little apprehensive. Lisa on the other hand observed him analytically.
"Interesting. This is unlike anything I have ever seen." The genius remarked in a thinking pose.
"Lisa, this wasn't one of your experiments was it?!" Lori demanded to know.
"Of course not… I still have yet to test my super soldier serum, and even then I doubt it would've been this effective." She said the last bit sheepishly. The others just stared at her for a moment before turning back to Lincoln.
"Lincoln… are you okay?" Lucy asked.
"I… I think so… this is just so weird." He responded slightly unsure of himself. This was definitely new to him, and he wasn't sure how to take it.
"I think you look really cool! All big and buff and stuff." Lana said with sparkles in her eyes.
"While I personally could do without you looking like the Hulk, I must say you do have the poise and confidence of a true prince now. I'm impressed." Lola concurred.
Lincoln smiled fondly at the two before he went back into prideful mode. "Hmm. Yes, I suppose I am quite the spectacle now." He placed his hands on his hips in a pose. The twins giggled in response.
"Well... I always did say you'd hit your growth spurt soon, but I figured I'd get to call you little bro for at least a little while longer." Luan walked up to him, trying to lighten the mood. Lincoln just smiled confidently at her.
"Are you sure you're okay Linky? Like, I saw what Lynn did to you, doesn't it hurt?" Leni asked in her usual caring tone. Lincoln let out a chuckle at her acting so concerned.
"Of course I'm alright Leni. I seriously doubt there's anything that can hurt me now, so there's no need to worry." He placed a hand on his chest, his tone prideful but also quite tender given that it was Leni he was talking to.
His words seemed to placate her concerns mostly, but she still felt the need to tell him "But I'm always going to be worried about you Linky. Even if you're all big and strong now, you're still my little brother." She gave him a motherly smile. Lincoln gave as good an appreciative look as he could. Lincoln maintained his prideful smile, but you could see the appreciation in his eyes.
"Lisa… you think you can fix him?" Luna asked her prodigious sister.
"Hmm. Hard to say. I'll still have to perform a multitude of tests to discover the cause of this anomaly, then find a way to reverse the effects. I'll require some…"
Lincoln tuned his sisters out as he looked out towards the horizon. Surprisingly, it had only been about 25 minutes since he was out with Lynn. He saw the sun rising from the east, just now past dawn. He never really paid attention to how beautiful the sun was until now. It seemed to fill him with wonder, a sense of purpose. It felt like he was being vitalized by it. That's when he felt something strange, something building up inside him, and it made him feel good, but also nervous.
He was broken out of his musings when he heard his parent's calling from the back porch. Apparently their banter had actually managed to awaken them just before 7 a.m.
"Kids, what's going on out here." Rita Loud called out to the children. She then looked to see Lori helping Lynn inside and she noticed the injuries done to her arms.
"Oh my goodness, Lynn sweetie. What happened?" Lynn couldn't even respond. She simply stared back in a cold sweat. Her father traced his line of sight to where she was looking,
"Honey what are you looking at…" The words died in Lynn Sr's throat as he gazed upon the biggest man he had ever seen. Rita had also looked over to find her daughters surrounding him, albeit cautiously. They hadn't registered that it was Lincoln. He was standing right in the rays of the sun, so his white hair was difficult to make out. The fact that he was practically naked was not doing him any favors. They assumed it was some stranger who attacked Lynn, and the other girls were making sure he didn't do anything. The parents had a million questions in their heads, but they immediately assumed the worst, and started making threats.
"You! Get away from our daughters!" Rita was the first to yell at him. The kids all looked back at their parents in confusion.
"Girl's get away from that man this instant!" Lynn Sr. yelled to his daughters.
"Huh… wait no Dad, you've got the wrong idea it's-" Luna tried to explain, but her father cut her off.
"I don't care what's going on, but right now I want you out of here! Honey, get ready to call the police." Lynn Sr. told his wife and kids.
Lincoln just stood there almost impassively, but it was clear that there was some hurt and confusion in his eyes for his parents looking at him like some kind of monster. Just then the feeling inside him got even more intense as he felt the sun rise even more.
Luna, sensing that there was some inner turmoil with Lincoln, told her sisters to back away from Lincoln while she tried to calm him down.
"Hey, Lincoln, buddy. Look at me." She got his attention. "It's okay." He simply nodded and crossed his arms.
Luna turned to try and placate her parents before she heard Lincoln grunt from behind her grabbing his head, and falling to a single knee. Luna immediately turned back around to see Lincoln in a great amount of pain, and she was getting scared.
"Lincoln. Talk to me bro." Luna tried to get closer, but realized that the heat coming from him was getting more intense, and she had to shield herself from his aura.
"Luna get away from him RIGHT NOW!" Lynn Sr. ushered his wife and kids inside, but not before Lynn got one last look at him, and seeing the look in his eyes made her hysterical again, and she started crying to make him go away. Between both Lynn's heckling, and the power rapidly growing within him, Lincoln felt himself losing control. He thought he could hold it, but it was obvious this new mysterious power was too much for him. He was able to look up at Luna with tears forming in his eyes, and uttered a single phrase: "Kill me."
Just then Lincoln stood straight up and howled in pain as the pressure he was exerting knocked Luna on her rear. Lynn Sr. was about to go in and save her before he, Luna, and the girls watching from the kitchen window saw Lincoln's transformation progress even further. Now he had grown almost another foot in height, and he had grown even more muscular to the point of approaching absurdity. But that wasn't the only thing. The ground beneath him was catching fire, and flames began to burst into life around him. The others could only look in astonishment at what they were witnessing, but that astonishment soon turned to fear as the twins held each other, and Luan placed her hands on Lucy, and Lisa's shoulders. From upstairs they heard Lily crying. It seemed the commotion had gotten to her as well. Leni went upstairs to check on her while Rita and Lori tended to Lynn.
"Okay, girls. Who is that man, and what is he doing here?" Rita demanded.
"He's a freak, he's not…" Lynn broke down again. Rita asked Luan to get her some water.
"Lori who is that? What's going on?"
"Mom, I don't know how to tell you this but… That's literally Lincoln."

Rita could barely comprehend the words she had heard as she looked back outside to the scene that was unfolding. That man. That… thing was her son. "Lincoln?" was all she said before she fainted.
"Mom!"
Back outside Lincoln's control was further deteriorating, as the ground around him was being burned to a crisp, and the atmosphere was becoming so hot it was suffocating. The very air around his was almost turning crimson as if he were in the middle of a raging inferno. The fence behind him had burst into flames, which in the background only added to his frightening appearance. Lynn Sr. was completely baffled and terrified by what he was witnessing. Just what the hell is this, one of Lisa's experiments gone really wrong? He could barely breathe, or see by this point, but he knew he had to get Luna out of there so he slowly but surely made his way to his daughter despite the intense heat and threat this man posed.
Luna stared up at Lincoln who by this point completely dwarfed her. His eyes now had a mad look to them, and he had a crazy ear to ear grin. His eyes also seemed to glow a little with power, and there were fiery sparks surrounding his body.
"Heheheheheheheh" Lincoln laughed in a low, almost demonic voice. Luna was now scared shitless. This was not how she imagined her day starting. She started scooting away, ignoring the searing pain in her legs caused by Lincoln's overwhelming presence.
Inside the house the girls were trying to tend to their passed out mother and wounded sister, while still observing what was happening inside.
"Everyone. Get away from the windows." Lori instructed her sisters. It was too dangerous, and she didn't want them to see what may happen next. The twins made their way over to her, tears pouring out of their eyes.
"Lori *sniffle* *hiccup* is Linky gonna be okay?" Lola looked up at her eldest sister expectantly.
"Yeah, and what about Dad and Luna?" Lana added.
Lori wanted to tell them that everything was going to be alright, but she knew that with the way things are heading… the Loud House may not be as loud tomorrow.
"I don't know. We just have to have faith in him, Dad, and Luna." That was all she could say as she hugged them tightly. While she seemed to be holding up, it was a front. On the inside she was a total wreck. Never in her wildest dream did she imagine something like this happening, and there was nothing she could do about it. That was the single worst thing she could ever think of. Not being able to help her family in need. Lori had always prided herself on being the eldest, and by extension the one responsible for the well-being of her siblings. The very thought that she couldn't be there for any one of them made her sick to her stomach, and sadly that was one mistake she already have to live with, but for it to happen again so soon. It took everything in her power to not have a nervous breakdown, but she had to be strong for her little sisters. She wanted to go out there herself, and help her father, brother, and sister but she knew there was nothing she could do, plus she still had to watch over the younger ones. The thought to call the police ran through her head, but she knew they wouldn't make it in time, and even if they did what were they going to do? They would either kill Lincoln, or if this crazy transformation of his was too strong for bullets, then they would just provoke him more, and she didn't even want to think what would happen if that were the case. For the first time Lori felt completely helpless. Powerless to do anything to help her siblings, one of whom was undergoing some science fiction-esque mutation, and the other was likely going to be seriously hurt, or even killed. She began shedding her own tears by this point. All she could do was pray and hope that her sister and father could calm Lincoln down in time.
Lisa, who was tending to her mother and sister in the living room simply removed her glasses, and tried to stop the tears from falling. Lynn was given some water and pain medication and was out like a light.
Lucy held Luan's hand tightly. She dug into her pocket and pulled out an old necklace that belonged to her Great-grandmother Harriet. Lincoln had actually given it to her for her 6th birthday. He told her that if she was ever in doubt, or in trouble, just hold onto the amulet and her Great-grandmother would be right there with her. She never went anywhere without it.
Luan stared out the back window from a distance, fearing for the lives of her father, and sister and roommate. But above all else, she was concerned about what would become of her only brother.
While Lily didn't know what was going on exactly, she could sense the dreadful atmosphere, and knew that there was something very wrong right now. She particularly knew it had something to do with her brother. That was enough to cause her to erupt into tears. "Wincoln!" Lily continued to cry, and all Leni could do was shake her gently, and try and soothe her. "Shh it's okay Lily. Linky will be just fine." 'Oh Lincoln, please be alright.'
Lincoln began to observe his surroundings before his gaze landed on the downed rocker in front of him, trying to get away from him.
"Oh, and what do we have here? A little worm who doesn't seem to understand when she's supposed to be in awe of a presence as glorious as my own." He taunted. "Though I suppose crawling about is quite befitting of a worm such as yourself." He let out an evil laugh. Luna just kept on trying to get away from him, tears falling down her cheeks. Lincoln's face morphed to one of pity. "How truly sad, to have to live such a pathetic miserable existence. Allow me to free you from your wretched fate." He began to slowly make his way towards his sister, each step scorching the ground beneath him. Luna's eyes widened when she noticed him advancing toward her, she tried to get up, but the pain in her legs was too great, and the pain was only getting worse as Lincoln got closer.
It was obvious the normally kind and gentle boy had lost his sense of self, and whatever was happening to him was consuming his mind. He seemed to have no memory of her either. If she didn't figure out a way to stop him soon then she, her entire family and many others will end up as nothing more than blood stains and scorch marks, and who knows what will happen to Lincoln. Lincoln stopped just a few feet in front of her, his aura on the cusp of incinerating her legs. "Fret not, little worm. For I shall make your death a quick one." Lincoln's insane grin returned as he raised his right index finger, and flames began to dance around it. "You should consider it a great privilege. For me to go out of my way to put a being as lowly as yourself out of your misery."
Luna knew if she didn't do something now she was as good as dead. So she did what she always did when she needed to calm Lincoln down. She sang to him.
"Born on… The wrong side of the ocean… With all the tides against you~" Luna began singing one of her personal favorites to him. She always did this when he was angry, or sad, or scared. Especially when they were younger. He didn't seem to register her words at first as he continued to charge his attack, but she fought through the pain and kept going. "You never thought… You'd be much good for anyone… but that's so far from the truth~." Suddenly, the fire around Lincoln's finger began dying down. "Hmm." He looked down at her in curiosity. "I know there's pain in your heart… and you're covered in scars~" Luna was on the verge of passing out, but she saw her words were having an effect on him, so she pressed on. "Wish you could see what I do… 'Cause baby, everything you are… is everything I need… You're everything to me~" Lincoln began to slowly come back to his senses, and his aura was receding. "Baby, every single part… is who you're meant to be… 'Cause you were meant for me… and you're everything I need~." Luna stopped singing to see Lincoln taking a few steps back and his face returning to normal, the heat he was emitting beginning to dissipate. Lincoln held his head again in pain before he returned to his senses.
He looked around in confusion, observing his surroundings which were being set ablaze. He quickly made out that it was his doing, before looking down and seeing a sight that horrified him. There at his feet was his sister Luna, her legs completely covered in horrific burns, lying on the ground in front of him, crying in pain. "Luna." He did this. He did this to his sister. Or rather sisters. Who knows who else he may have hurt. He lost control, and he ended up hurting his family. Lynn was right… he was a monster. He needed to leave now, before he lost control again. He could already feel himself slipping as the power inside him only grew. He looked down at his sister one last time to see that she was giving him a reassuring smile. Despite the world of agony she must be in because of him, she still did what she could to make him feel better, to make him feel safe and loved. To let him know that everything was okay. But everything was not okay. He couldn't stay here, he didn't deserve to stay here after what he did, and even if he thought he did he was a clear and present danger to his family. To society. He had to go. With a heavy heart Lincoln uttered "I'm sorry" to his sister, who looked confused at first before realization dawned upon her. Lincoln turned and began sprinting away at lightning fast speeds smashing through multiple yard fences as if they were paper mache.
Luna tried to call out to Lincoln to come back, but by the time she realized what he was doing he had already begun running away. "No!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, trying to reach out to him. Moments later her Dad made it to her where he scooped her up in his arms and started to carry her inside. He did his best to calm her down, and reassure her that it was over. He had to admit he was scared to death, and he still had no idea who, or rather what that was, but he could worry about that later. Right now his family needed him, and he needed to get his daughters to the hospital.
"Shshshh it's okay baby girl. I've got you. It's okay. It's over now."
"No! No, it's not okay!" Luna started crying into her father's chest.
"Don't worry Luna, he's gone now. Whatever he was he can't hurt you anymore." Lynn Sr. ran his hand through his daughter's hair trying to calm her down. Luna looked into his eyes.
"No, Dad you don't understand, that wasn't some bad guy that was-" She was cut off when she heard a sonic boom behind her, and looked back to see an object flying away. It was too small to make out from their distance, but she knew what, or rather who it was. "LINCOLN!"
"Huh? Lincoln?"
Lincoln ran and ran as fast as he could. He needed to get away from Royal Woods now. He had a hard time controlling his speed and direction, so he ended up crashing into a lot of things. Fortunately, it was still too early for most people to be out yet so he hadn't run into anyone. However, he soon made his way out of the neighborhood and into the middle of the street. The place was about to be swarmed with traffic, and he couldn't let himself be spotted, but he also needed to get out of here as quickly as he could. An idea quickly popped into his head, and he crouched down before putting all the power in his legs into a single leap. It worked a lot better than he expected since he practically sent himself flying. With just a few more leaps he had made his way out of civilization, and crash landed in the wilderness. He wasn't sure where exactly he landed, but he didn't really care at the moment. He also didn't bother foraging for food or water for the rest of the day. He simply scoured the nearby mountains for a suitable cave to make shelter in. When he did, he simply laid down and did his best to fall asleep, it seemed to be the only way to keep himself under control.
"What is happening to me?" He said to himself as he let a few tears fall.
Meanwhile, high above the clouds in the Sky Temple, a lone man was meditating on one of the cliffs before opening his eyes, and standing up.
"So it has found a new host. It appears that the new era has finally dawned."
So that was chapter 1. Feel free to leave a review on how trash a writer I am lol.
I had a few pitches for how this story was gonna start out. One of my original ideas was to have the sisters becoming the new 10 Commandments, and they would actually kinda be the villains of the series, before reforming later on. Lincoln, and 3 other guys (Bobby and Clyde were likely candidates) would've become the new 4 Archangels to fight them. I thought it was a little too corny, kinda dumb, and I wasn't sure how to write it so I opted to go a different route, but I always planned on giving Lincoln Sunshine, it just seemed so fitting. I will be taking some ideas from my original concept through. Also I think the title is lame, but I couldn't come up with anything decent (Not calling it Seven Loudest Sins), and I wanted to get this out. If you guys have a better name then let me know.
I didn't originally intend for the scene of Lincoln getting beaten to be as long as it was, and Lincoln was going to stop Lynn while she was beating him, but I didn't want a straight repeat of Escanor's story, so having Lincoln act a little vengeful and giving more character interactions was my way of making it more unique. Considering the way Escanor acted before he mastered his power, I thought the way Lincoln struggles for self control, and becomes consumed by his own power and pride as the day goes on was fairly accurate. The way he regenerated his tooth, I'm not sure if Sunshine is capable of that. It does give him a healing factor, but idk. It's more of a one time thing anyway, and it's not like he lost an arm or something.
Some stuff to address: If you're wondering how Lori and Luna didn't get to Lincoln and Lynn sooner, or why they didn't immediately dash to them the moment they saw Lynn knock him out. 1. Let's just say while backyard has the same layout in this story, it's a little bigger than in canon. 2. plot demanded it, and I was a little lazy lol. The parent's freaking out at Lincoln without listening to the girls was a little plot induced, but I thought it made sense. I mean if you saw a half naked, 8 foot behemoth standing in your backyard at not even 7am with your daughters around him, and one of them was hurt by him, you'd probably have a similar reaction. Kind of a Murphy's Law thing going on. I should let it be known that Lynn is my least favorite loud sister, and NSL did her no favors, but there is a reason for why she did what she did, which will come into play later, it wasn't just because I want to bash her. Yes there will be some bashing of her character throughout this story, but I don't believe in tearing down a character for the sake of it when I can be productive and improve upon them, because she does have some redeeming point. She will get her redemption later on, but for now she's basically the family Judas. Also, I know the whole being drawn to his voice bit is cheesy af, but I'm keeping it cuz I like a little cheese.
Next chapter we'll see Lincoln discovering the truth about his power, and the untold history of the Holy War. The family will deal with the fallout of what occurred as well.
Other characters will get powers as the series goes on.
I haven't decided any of the pairings, or if I'll even make it a harem just for the hell of it. I usually leave that to the reviewers. Have fun with that~
In all seriousness though, I hope you guys enjoyed it, and support this story. If it does well, and I get positive feedback then I'll be motivated to do more chapters... Unless you hate it, in which case feel free to wish the plague upon me, whatever floats your boat. Constructive criticism works too. If you have any suggestions for adding stuff to the story let me know. Anyway, I hope y'all are staying safe out there and I'll see you later.
