What up? *stuck my tongue out and sprouts multiple arms* As I watch Fear, can't help but feel sorry for him during the movie, especially when he tries to be Joy. Let me try to experiment with a little Fear/Disgust, since I think they'd be a cute pair. Enjoy!

~Snarky and Fearful~

The horrifying ordeal was finally over. Fear breathed a sigh of relief at the return of Joy and Sadness, surprised and equally happy at the end result where Sadness was able to reverse the depressing and gloomy apathy that plagued Riley's mind. The child he's grown to love and swore to protect back at home, in the comforting embrace of her parents and finally able to accept the move brought a tear to the emotion's eye.

Sniffling, Fear shed a couple tears watching the wholesome moment, blowing into a tissue. He was always on the jumpy side, but now, a special kind of warmth radiated throughout Headquarters and it felt nice. Joy and Sadness were leaning on one another at the console, the powers of happiness and sadness coming together in this one tender moment.

"You did it, Joy. You brought the old Riley back." whispered Fear, a tender genuine smile on his face.

Sadness's role was revealed, to induce empathy in others, prompting them to reach out to Riley when she's emotionally overwhelmed and needs help. The shimmering blue core memory was back and he watched as the memory helped fuel the restored Family Island alongside the other restored islands of personality.

"It's a little too mushy for my tastes, but it's better than staying on that gross bus. I think we ended up stepping in gum when we got on." shuddered Disgust, sticking her tongue out at the thought.

Even now, despite the fact she's Disgust, she couldn't fool the other emotions. They knew she was happy that Riley was back and the stupid idea Anger put into her mind was out and taking a nice little fall down into the Memory Dumps.

"At least it's better than running away, back in the arms of mom and dad and back home." replied Fear, looking down at all the memories scattered around, picking up a purple one and sighing, before dropping it back on the floor.

"House still smells like something crawled up inside and died in it." remarked Disgust, turning away for a moment.

These days were really something truly revolting to say the least. Trying to make Riley happy with Anger and Fear was such a drag, between Fear's gross nerves being shot and Anger's stupid violent outbursts and idiotic ideas, Disgust was worried about possibly having some bags under her eyes from stress.

"Hope we can at least get a goodnight's rest without the rageaholic caveman over there doing something stupid." replied Disgust, pointing over to Anger, who shot her a glare as she merely smirked at him. "What's the matter? You kinda look like a caveman, just need a club to complete that drab look."

"Don't provoke him, Disgust." whispered Fear, pointing over to the simmering red emotion.

It was brilliant to use Anger's flame as a makeshift torch to break the window and grab Joy and Sadness, but Fear doesn't want to be on the receiving end of his red friend's fiery temper. He's had to have his rear extinguished countless times and Disgust, to her horror, had to the one to put the flames out.

"Relax, now that Joy's back, I don't have to put your whinny butt out anymore." came Disgust, though she didn't mean it in any kind of hurtful way. Fear knew that.

There was something about the sarcastic and cynical green emotion who always seemed to be more annoyed about things, mainly concerned about keeping Riley from being poisoned physically and socially, though she had a heart underneath all that sarcasm and keeping with her high standards. Fear often found himself blushing when near her, though he was far too jumpy to say anything to her in a more intimate matter.

Disgust was able to give in some ways, her own brand of comfort towards Fear when he felt like he was failing Riley by not being the emotion he needed to be. She'd just give him a smack to the face and tell him to stop doubting himself, he's got a job to do and if he doesn't want Riley crushed by a meteor, then shut up and stop hyperventilating.

"And I don't have to be on stupid Dream Duty anymore." stated Fear, sounding relived to be free of that task.

"Dream Duty? You're kidding? I think you'd be so used to anything that it put you to sleep easy." scoffed Disgust, rolling her eyes. "Unless it's something where Riley's wearing something from last season, or worse, mom and dad embarrass her."

Fear just chuckled to himself. Disgust always made a jab or two at the outfit he wears, but perhaps dying of embarrassment was a possibility. He'd have to keep that in mind when it comes down to going through every possible scenario that could happen from Riley failing a math test, to all of San Francisco being swallowed by an earthquake.

"Believe me, it's all the same junk. Nothing original, nothing even worth getting scared. Riley comes to school without pants and her teeth fall out. So scary..." remarked Fear, a hint of sarcasm in his voice, folding his arms out as he scoffs.

If Fear wasn't an emotion, he'd be a very cynical and critical movie critic. For Disgust, Riley getting laughed at by the entire class by not wearing pants would be social suicide and she shuddered at the thought of that.

"Riley would never get in with the cool kids if that happened. Be even worse than the gross broccoli pizza, which that will be the single grossest thing to date for me." remarked Disgust, before smirking as he looks right at Fear. "Whatever nightmare she had when the moron decided to runaway sure got you shaken up."

Fear only nodded to her in response. He didn't like talking about stuff that got him way too frightened and left him unable to even speak when he's spooked that severely. It went from just another stupid and formulaic dream to a horrifying heart stopping nightmare that made Fear want to curl up into a ball and cry himself to sleep.

Half a dog chasing the other half, then a random appearance by Bing Bong and the dream's climax of having Jangles the Clown show up with that hammer was too much for the jumpy purple emotion. He cried to himself and kept saying that it was only a dream and that a demonic clown wasn't about to smash him into oblivion.

"Shaken up would be the understatement of the year, Disgust. It was Jangles and I think his hammer got even bigger." winced Fear, his eyes widening as he remembered that oh, so scary hammer wielded by the scary clown.

Jangles the Clown was something all the emotions were unnerved by, particularly Fear. Disgust winced at the thought of seeing such a scary creature. The makeup and ugly hairstyle was one thing, but this clown was full blown psychotic and insane bringer of chaos.

It was odd yet strangely mystifying seeing both emotions having a mutual understanding of a particular fear. They each tried to take on Joy's role and failed miserably. Disgust was right, they couldn't be Joy and Fear was mentally kicking himself for even coming up with such a stupid idea. Disgust took notice of Fear's distress and slowly walked over to him. She was too proud to offer any kind of traditional comfort.

"You really are afraid of everything, aren't you?" mocked Disgust, playfully.

"Hey, I'm not afraid of everything!" snapped Fear.

Vastly different yet also on the same side, both of them there for Riley. Even if both of them ended up causing more harm than good for the girl they love, they weren't nearly as stupid as Anger.

"You're afraid of Anger's violent temper." came Disgust, rolling her eyes. "Honestly, I'm surprised you're even able to sit down after all the times he's burned your hide."

Fear despised the fact he didn't oppose Anger's plan, didn't really do anything to try to stop it until Riley was too far gone. But what could he have done? He wasn't one for confrontations and he really didn't want to get burned again.

"You really do have a funny way about trying to make me feel better, you know?" remarked Fear, rolling his eyes almost in annoyance.

"If you want a hug, go see Joy. If you're looking to me for talk, you get what you get with me." replied Disgust, walking closer towards the purple emotion.

Knowing Fear, him getting hugged might freak him out. Still, he was honestly a very charming emotion in his own right, better to deal with than Anger and someone who doesn't start thinking that knocking somebody's teeth out is the first course of action when Riley's upset about something.

"What a mistake it was for me to suggest you to be Joy." shrugged Fear, thinking back to the sarcastic response the green emotion had Riley say to mom.

"At least I didn't have her shaking in fear that she sounded like she was gonna be murdered in school." spat Disgust, groaning as she rubbed her temples. "You're better than the moron, but not by much."

Perhaps the closest thing to a compliment the purple emotion would ever get from Disgust. Them in a relationship would be something else, possibly even create some memories of their own, hopefully not just ones based on fear and disgust.

Fear cringed as he remembered his rather humiliating attempt at being Joy. He failed miserably and his disappointment and sorrow was immeasurable, his eyes widened and seemed to get glazed as if he were about to cry and the frown was even sadder than Sadness's own downer expressions.

"You know, that might've been the saddest thing I ever saw." revealed Disgust, even she was surprised and even somewhat sympathetic towards the purple emotion in that one moment.

Fear's single purple hair perked up when Disgust spoke of it. He hated himself for failing so horribly in that moment, he wasn't Joy, he knew that, but he hoped that perhaps, he could have made Riley feel some feeling of happiness, despite Joy's absence and the islands down.

"Now don't get to crying over that, Fear. You did better than Anger over there." spat Disgust, her own snarky personality at the very least alleviating some of Fear's own negative doubts.

"I still was a pretty terrible Joy." sighed Fear, as Disgust half-heartedly placed a hand on his back and rubbed it, not even looking at him. She could at least give him this one little bit of kindness.

"But you kept us alive and made sure Riley didn't get hit by a bus or anything." remarked Disgust, comforting Fear as a way of cheering him up. "You're thankfully not a brainless moron."

Fear smiled a bit at that. He might've been breathing into a paper bag and getting hysterical, but he was still sticking to Riley like glue. Disgust's apathetic back rub was calming him down, looking back at her for a moment and smiling.

"Remember, genius, emotions can't quit. You're stuck here and so far, you've done your job well, Fear." added Disgust.

"Thanks." smiled Fear.

"Don't mention it." came Disgust, turning away as she stopped rubbing his back. "Just don't spit another one of my memory orbs out. Too gross."

Nodding, Fear looked back at Disgust and smiled warmly at her, she just groaned and rolled her eyes, heading back over to the others, but not before giving a smile genuine smile back to the purple emotion.

The end.

Male/female pairings are where I'm a rookie at, though I do like the idea of Fear and Disgust. Anyway, hope you guys like my second story in this fandom, and please do review, favorite, and follow! Always appreciate the feedback! RandallBeast19, taking flight!
