Chapter 1
"It's me, Theodore "The Beaver" Cleaver. Except for a short time when I was married, I've always lived in Mayfield. Times sure have changed. My son, Oliver lives in Upstate New York with his wife and two daughters. My oldest son, Kipp also still lives in Mayfield, now divorced. Kip's son, my grandson, Kyle, is 26-years-old and also lives in Mayfield with his two children, my great-grandchildren, 10-year-old Kevin and 7-year-old Kylie. I'm still living in my childhood home, which I inherited when my mother passed away. This is the story of "The Cleavers".
Beaver excitedly packed the car. Kipp, Kyle, Kevin, and Kylie walked over with their packed suitcases.
"Are you all ready to go to Shadow Lake?" Beaver asked.
Everybody moaned.
"What's wrong?" Beaver asked.
"We don't want to go to stupid Shadow stupid Lake!" Kyle shouted. "You're literally the only one of us who likes to go there!"
"You all love Shadow Lake," Beaver said.
"Dad," Kipp said. "I'm 50. We've been going there since I was a kid. We want to go somewhere else."
"Like where?" Beaver asked.
"Glad you asked," Kyle replied, getting out his phone and pulling up a website and showing it to Beaver.
"An aquarium?" Beaver asked.
"An aquarium/amusement park," Kyle replied. "It's called Super Sea Land, and it has a racing rollercoaster with 8 loops. Well, technically 16, because after going through it, it goes backwards!"
"And it has several types of penguins and sharks," Kipp said.
"And a snack bar," Kevin said.
"And it's educational," Kylie said.
"We're going to Shadow Lake," Beaver said. "Now get in the car."
"But rollercoaster!" Kyle whined.
"Penguins and sharks!" Kipp whined.
"Snack bar!" Kevin whined.
"Educational!" Kylie whined.
"Get in the car," Beaver said sternly.
Everyone got in the car. Kyle sat up front while Beaver drove. As they stopped at the first stop sign, Kyle noticed Neddie sitting on a bench. Kyle rolled down the window.
"Hey, Neddie," Kyle said.
"Hey," Neddie said. "Where are you off to?"
"Shadow Lake," Kyle replied.
"Oh," Neddie said. "You're going to Shadow Lake?"
"Yeah," Kyle replied.
"Oh," Neddie said. "That's cool."
"Do you want to…" Kyle started to ask before Beaver sped off.
Kyle looked at Beaver.
"Grandpa!" Kyle shouted.
"Sorry," Beaver said. "There's no room for him in the car."
Kyle pointed at the seatbelt in the middle, front seat.
"There's literally a third seat!" Kyle shouted.
"Let's listen to some music," Beaver said, turning on the radio.
