This is the only time I'm saying this, I own nothing.

Summary: Gaara tries a forbidden jutsu, portal jutsu, trying to get away from leaf village after the chunin exams. But him and a random girl get sucked into another world. Oh, and they're clan cats. `\_(-w-)_/`

Gaara POV, random forest

I wanted to leave. I wanted to go somewhere. Somewhere far away from the shinobi world. Heck, I just wanted a real friend. So I did some research, and I found a forbidden jutsu. One that would take me far away. I was debating using it. Why not. It wasn't too complicated.

The hand signs are: dragon, dog, boar, dragon, ram. I did them, pumping chakra in front of me like the scroll says to. A black shining hole of darkness appears in front of me, sucking everything not attached to the ground into it. As I was falling in, I noticed a leaf shinobi with a mask on falling with me. My vision suddenly was all blurry. Then, it's all black.

"Where am I…" I hear a voice say. A black cat that was as tall as me ran toward me. "Where are we!? What did you do to that portal! My brother is gonna kill me." she said. I noticed that she had a white star shape on her head. Then I noticed that I was a cat.

I had sandy-blonde fur and ginger ears, according to the other cat.

"What's your name?" I asked the black cat in front of me.

"Naruki Uzumaki." she said.

"Oh, I'm Gaara Kazekage." I said. Okay, meowed. It makes me sound weird, so I'm sticking with 'said.'

"Who are you!?" a grey cat with blue eyes walked up and asked. Next to him, a young gold-furred cat with gold eyes stared at us. I was about to answer, but Naruki stepped forward.

"It's rude to ask someone's name without giving your own." she growled.

The grey cat stiffened. Then grunted. "I'm Ashfur and this is Lionpaw."

"Better. I'm Naruki and this is Gaara." she said, her glare challenging. His was, too.

"Listen, just get off of our territory and we'll leave you alone."

"What if we don't want to go?"

"Then we'll make you." Lionpaw said. I smirked. If my control of sand still works, they can't lay a claw on me.

Naruki smiled. "RASENGAN!" She yelled. A weak-ish spiral of chakra came into her paw. She ran unnaturally fast, and hit the tree next to Ashfur. It left a huge hole in the trunk, with sap all over. Lionpaw stared at her, then looked at Ashfur.

"Can we bring her to Firestar? He'll want a warrior as strong as that." Lionpaw said.

"She's only 7 moons, probably. And the other one looks weak-" I cut him off with sand closing his jaw, while Naruki used something cold and dark to chain him to the ground. The two cats looked like they saw a ghost.

"Oh my StarClan…" They mumbled, Ashfur motioning us with his head to follow.

After a long walk through the woods, we came to a small camp in a ravine. There were 5 dens, 1 with she-cats and kits, 1 with two cats, one the same age as Lionpaw but grey, and 2 empty ones, and 1 with old cats.

"Firestar?" Ashfur called, walking into a den in the side of the ravine that I didn't notice.

"What do you want, Ashfur, Lionpaw?" Firestar asked.

"We found these cats in the forest while hunting and they're really strong!" Lionpaw blurted, then he looked ashamed.

"Okay, are you kittypets, loners, or rouges? What are your names?" Firestar asked. I looked at Naruki. She shrugged, which is incredibly hard for a cat.

"I'm Naruki, and this is Gaara. We're… loners?" Naruki guessed.

"Okay, I want to see how strong you are." Firestar said. I used some sand to chain him to the floor. Naruki used solid darkness to close his muzzle while holding the rasengan at his throat. Firestar blinked. We let him go and the rasengan disappeared from Naruki's paw. He blinked once. Then a light brown tabby came bounding toward the den.

"Firestar! I've had a prophecy!" The she-cat exclaimed.

"Please tell us, Leafpool." Firestar said, unannoyed.

"'Sand and darkness with power untold, defeats the bad darkness when it unfolds. Welcome them, shelter them, make them fight, on the most unwelcome night. Along with the 3, makes five, make them warriors, thunder shall thrive.' What do you think it means?" Leafpool asked.

"We're thunder, what is 'darkness and sand?' And 'power untold?' What does it mean?" Firestar exclaimed. I was resisting the urge to face-paw(?).

"Well, I think it means, since Gaara has power over sand and I have power over darkness, we both have chakra, basically raw power, I assume there was another prophecy about 3 cats, together will defeat bad darkness. I mean, it's obvious." Naruki said. Ashfur and Lionpaw were standing there awkwardly.

"You are dismissed. Gaara, Naruki, stay." Firestar said. He is obviously the leader, no doubt. "I would like you to join ThunderClan." He said. "It's your choice, would you like to change your names?" Firestar asked.

"Yes, okay." I said.

"To heck with it, why not." Naruki exclaimed. The 3 of us walked out, and Firestar went onto the tall rock in the middle of the ravine.

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather around highledge for a clan meeting." Naruki and I stepped back. "Ashfur and Lionpaw have found some loners on our territory. I have decided to take them into the clan." 'Because of the prophecy. Have a nice life.' Were Firestar's unspoken words.

Shouts of protests echoed through the ravine. Naruki slunk back, and I looked to the ground. Firestar ignored the protests and called us up.

"Naruki, Gaara, please come to the front and receive your names." We walked to the front of the crowd(AKA mob). "From this day until you're a warrior, Naruki, you shall be known as Onyxpaw. Your mentor will be Whitewing." A white she-cat with green eyes came toward her. She put her nose down and whispered 'Touch my nose.' Naruki… no, Onyxpaw did so. "Gaara, from this day on until you're a warrior, you are known as Sandpaw. Your mentor is Squirrelflight." A dark ginger she-cat came toward me. We touched noses.

A few yowls of 'Sandpaw' and 'Onyxpaw' rang out from the crowd.

"You will begin your training immediately. Listen to your mentors." Firestar demanded. The crowd slowly dissipated.

"Would you like to train with your sister?" Squirrelflight asked, tilting her head toward Onyxpaw.

"Sister? Oh, Onyxpaw? She's not my sister. I just met her yesterday." I explained. I just met her today, actually. Squirrelflight doesn't need to know that, though.

We walked out into the forest. My nose was working overtime. I smelled a vole in and heard it scurrying around by a tree root. I stalked it and caught it in a swift bite to the spine. Squirrelflight looked surprised.

"H-how did you smell or hear that? Even I couldn't smell that! And I'm your mentor… Nevermind that, you did great!" She praised. I smiled. I'm glad I got such a nice mentor, I thought happily.

Meanwhile, Onyxpaw's POV

I caught a mouse. Whitewing frowned at me.

"That couldn't feed a kit." She hissed. I looked down. My brother, Naruto Uzumaki, would always cheer me up. But now all I have is a 'stranger' and a scrawny mouse. It smelled oddly delicious. Whitewing looked at the sky. A bird was perched on a twig. Whitewing smiled evilly.

"Catch that starling. If you don't, you have to check the elders for ticks for a week." I gulped. Then nodded. "Wait, I was kidding…" Whitewing said, eyes wide.

"Well, I have a point to prove." I said, climbing up the tree silently. The twig was too brittle. I scratched the bark a bit, making the bird fly up to a sturdier branch. I smiled. Fun.

"Come down! I don't want you to get hurt!" I don't want Firestar to yell at me.

"Shut up!" I have to prove a point!

I climbed up slowly. I heard that if you climb up too fast, the blood will go to your feet and you'll faint. I don't want to test that. The starling was pecking at something. I climbed onto the branch. Whitewing looked at me in fear, too worried to do anything but watch. I smirked. The black bird was about a paw-length in front of me. I unsheathed a claw and quickly snapped its neck before it could fly away.

But no moment lasts forever. I heard a crack, and was falling. I had no choice. I twitched my paw, squeezing my eyes shut. I felt something soft on my paws. Darkness. It was supposed to be small, just a few little particles on my paw, but it was the size of a leaf. I cursed.

"What does f*ck mean?" Whitewing asked. "And why are you floating on floating darkness? And why didn't you listen to me!? I knew you would fall! I don't want you hurt!" She said, eyes wide. I knew she never wanted me as an apprentice. But she did. I decided to tell her that I could control darkness. Her eyes widened. I honestly thought she would explode if I told her about Sandpaw. Well, who cares. I did anyway. She didn't explode, but she made me check the elders for ticks while she 'soaked in that information.' I would like to soak my claws into her pelt, if nothing else.

"Get mouse bile from Leafpool. Then dab it where the ticks are." She explained. I nodded and did as she said.

I guess Sandpaw was done with hunting, because he was in the elders den, dabbing at a blind elder with moss. I went up to a brown she-cat napping.

"What is that horrible smell!" Said the elder, waking up.

"Mouse bile. For ticks." I said. "Have any?"

"You woke me from my nap!" the cat growled.

"You woke yourself." I growled louder. "Do you have. Any. Ticks?" The brown cat said that her name is Mousefur and she has a tick on her tail and shoulder.

I dabbed the ticks.

"Better. Now get something from the fresh-kill pile. I haven't met a cat who actually put up a fight." Mousefur turned to the blind cat. "Longtail, I like her." I looked down in embarrassment. Sandpaw looked surprised.

"You too, 'un. Go get some food." Longtail said to Sandpaw. We walked to the fresh-kill pile. My mouth watered, even though I hated the thought of eating dead animals. I found a pigeon. I wasn't that hungry, so...

"W-wanna share?" I asked Sandpaw, my face hot. He looked like he just saw a flying vole, then nodded. We sat next to each other and brutally ate the poor pigeon. We saw Lionpaw bury the bones of something. I did the same.

"Erm... thanks. F-for the pigeon." Sandpaw said shyly. I nodded. We walked together in silence to the stuffed apprentice's den. We squeezed in and fell asleep. Coincidentally, we were squeezed together.

StarClan, Sandpaw POV

I was in a lush forest with prey everywhere. Cats of all ages wandered around, eating and talking to each other. A black cat with yellow eyes came toward me.

"I know what you did, Sandpaw, how you got here. I want to say..." I waited nervously.

"She totally likes yah!" The black cat said with a wink.

"Wait, what! Who? Who are you!?" I asked, confused.

"I'm Yellowfang. Why didn't you notice her following you into the forest? Trying to save you from the portal?"

"Wait, Onyxpaw? But we've never talked before! Well, we have, but..."

"Listen, I'm only saying what she told me."

"She's here?! Now!?"

"No, she was never here and I'm trying to lead you into depression. Yes, she's here! Also, you're a twoleg right now." I looked at my hand. Yes, hand! I was never more glad to see my own fingers! That sounds weird. But still. ( `\_(=w=)_/` )

"Wake up. Not like you'll do much good here." Yellowfang muttered.

I blinked my eyes open. I was awake, next to Onyxpaw. I walked to the medicine den.

"Leafpool?" I called.

"Hmm? Need herbs?" She asked. I shook my head.

"Do you know who Yellowfang is?" I asked. Leafpool looked surprised.

"Yes, actually, she was my mentor. She died in a fire. Why?"

"Just... curious." I said, confused. I was gossiping with a dead cat! I thought.

I woke up Onyxpaw. "I have a question." I told her. She blinked. "Did you talk to Yellowfang?" I whispered into her ear.

"Ugh, she told you, didn't she." Onyxpaw groaned. I nodded. My thoughts were going a mile a minute. My heart raced. That's what it was like when I was around her. Is that what it was? Probably, seeing as I for some reason enjoyed the feeling.

"Don't worry." I said. "I agree."

Just an idea I had. Please leave reviews, I do read them UwU
