A ship was leaving a planet.
"It's finished Jaga," Panthro said.
"Yes it is," Jaga said.
"Shall I awaken Lion-o?" Tygra asked.
"No, he just lost his mother last month, so why upset the child even more Tygra?" Cheetara said.
"Wake him if he is to rule he must take the bad with good," Jaga said.
"What about Liosia his friend?" Tygra asked.
"Yes, bring her too," Jaga said.
Cheetara came into Lion-o's room where he was sleeping and his pet was curled up in bed with him. "Lion-o," Cheetara said shaking him.
"Oh Cheetara," Lion-o said.
"I am sorry to wake you but Jaga bids me bring you to him," Cheetara said.
"Okay, Snarf come on," Lion-o said.
Snarf woke up stretched and ran after Lion-o and Cheetara.
"What's going on Lion-o?" Liosia asked.
"I don't know," Lion-o said.
They made it to the command room. "What's up Jaga," Lion-o asked.
"Look at the screen," Jaga said.
"That planet what's happening to it?" Lion-o asked.
"Yes what is going on?' Liosia asked.
The planet blew up.
"Whoa what was that?" Lion-o asked.
"That was Thundera the planet we called home," Jaga said.
"Thundera?" Lion-o asked.
"Yes Lion-o Thundera is gone but as lord of the Thundercats with the code of Thundera living in your heart it will help us," Jaga said. "it's quite a task for one who is not yet a man, but the nobles gathered here are here to help you, Panthro, Panella, Tygra, Cheetara, even Panthea, Bobcat, Wilykat and Wilykit," he said. "I can trust that the code will be followed and be spread," he said.
"I will do that Jaga, I swear it, I mean I'll try," Lion-o said.
"Yes we will all try," Liosia said.
"Look at you two, two flowers of romance about to bloom even in a time of such hardship, with you two being betrothed," Jaga said.
"What?" Lion-o and Liosia asked.
"You know intended," Tygra said.
"Affianced," Panthro said.
"Engaged," Cheetara said.
"Meaning?" Liosia asked.
"When you two grow up you're going to be married," Jaga said.
"Yuck!" Liosia said.
"Gross!" Lion-o said. "I can't marry her she's my best friend," he said.
"Well Lion-o the oracle knows who we will fall in love with and marry when we get older so it matches us with them at birth. The oracle told Liosia's parents and your parents that you two will fall in love one day and get married. So you two became betrothed. That is the way it works," Jaga said.
"The oracle matched Tygra and I up together and we have been happily married ever since," Cheetara said.
"Yes and it did the same for Panella and me," Panthro said.
"Okay," Lion-o and Liosia said.
"Come on Lion-o there is something you must see," Jaga said.
They went into a chamber saw a sword. "This is the sword of omens. In the hilt is the mystic eye of Thundera," Jaga said.
Lion-o picked up the sword. The roar and got bigger. "Jaga the sword is alive!" Lion-o said. "I don't see an eye and what's with the holes in the hilt?" he asked.
"The eye sleeps until needed, and those aren't just holes looking through them gives you sight beyond sight." Jaga said.
"If I need the how do I wake it up and let it know?" Lion-o asked.
"The eye will know before you do," Jaga said.
"I can't lift it Jaga," Lion-o said.
"You don't have the strength yet," Jaga said. "Liosia get the other Thundercats," he said.
"Okay," Liosia said.
The other Thundercats came in and Jaga explained that they needed to find new ways and wear special clothes and need special weapons because they didn't know what awaited them in their new home.
The mutants attacked Lion-o, Liosia and Snarf stayed in the sword chamber the mutants came in and attacked. The sword helped Lion-o fend off the mutants. The ship was damaged and they couldn't see the other ships so they figured they were all destroyed.
They had to find a new place instead of the place they originally intended. They had to go into the suspension capsules. Jaga decided to stay out and pilot the ship. The other Thundercats went into their capsules and Snarf went into his one meant for pets.
Jaga died of old age and the ship crashed on the planet they were headed for.
Snarf came out of his capsule and began to sniff around. Lion-o and Liosia came out their capsules and realized they were smaller and they saw they were bigger. "Like we're grown," Lion-o said.
"I'll say," Liosia said.
Lion-o found the sword of omens and freed the Thundercats from suspension. They fought off the mutants. They began to tend to their wrecked ship.
The Mutants landed in front of a black pyramid and met Mumm-Ra the ever living. He was an evil un-dead sorcerer. He went to go get the eye of Thundera.
Lion-o was exploring and encountered Mumm-Ra. "Who are you?" Lion-o asked.
"I am Mumm-Ra the ever Living," Mumm-Ra said.
Lion-o and Mumm-Ra began to fight. The other Thundercats heard the fight and went to find out what was happening. Lion-o used the claw shield to protect himself and when Mumm-Ra saw his reflection in the claw shield he retreated.
The Thundercats came up wondering what happened.
"What is that thing?' Wilykit asked.
"He is Mumm-Ra the ever living, it's own reflection drove it off and yet it feared nothing," Lion-o said.
"Except the evil in it's own image," Tygra said.
"That was awfully rash taking that thing on by yourself Lion-o," Panthro said.
"But very courageous," Cheetara said.
"We better be prepared just in case he comes back," Lion-o said.
Snarf meowed in agreement.
