Chapter 1:

We see the planet Coruscant. The entire planet is one big city with over a trillion people that live on the planet.

Down on the planet in the morning was a young human male who was twenty-two years old with dark-colored, normal medium hair length.

He was walking the street beside a large college skyscraper.

"Hey, Ken!" A young human male with dirty blonde hair said running up to him.

"Hey, Hide." Ken said.

"Guess the semester is going to be a pain this year, I couldn't keep up with my classes yesterday." Hide said.

They walked and chatted and Ken noticed his father and stepmother standing near the entrance.

"I wonder what my parents are doing here?" Ken questioned.

The two walked up to them.

Ken's father's name is Zayne and his stepmothers name is Jarael.

"Hey mister and misses Carrick!" Hide said smiling with a wave.

"Hide." Zayne said with a nod and looked to Ken.

"We just came here to tell you that we are going to be gone to district ninety-two for a couple of weeks." Zayne said.

"More business?" Ken asked.

"I'm afraid it is." Zayne said.

"Don't worry we aren't going into anything dangerous." Jarael assured.

"You two can't discuss you two are-" Hide began to say.

"Journalists." Ken quickly said.

Hide then understood that his parents couldn't exactly say their line of work and just nodded.

"Yeah, good luck journaling people." Hide said.

"Ken, you got a place to stay?" Zayne asked.

"He can stay with me like always mister Carrick, no problem at all." Hide said.

"Me and Hide will be fine. He has an extra sleeping bag and I can just sleep on the floor at his dorm." Ken said.

"Very well, be safe okay Ken?" Zayne said hugging Ken.

Jarael walked up next and hugged Ken.

"Contact me every night please?" Ken asked.

"As always." Jarael said with a small wave.

"Can I get a hug?" Hide asked with his arms out.

Jarael just stared him down and so did Zayne before Zayne looked at Ken.

"Don't go using your powers to open another soda machine." Zayne chuckled.

"Hey, thirty credits is a lot." Ken said with a grin.

Zayne and Jarael waved and got into the speeder taxi that was waiting on them and it headed off into the sky traffic above.

"Cool, two weeks you get to hang out with me and that way we can study together." Hide said.

Hide noticed two females walk by, an Asari and a Twi'lek and was checking them out.

Ken just rolled his eyes.

"Come on Ken we can't be bachelors forever." Hide said.

"Can't we focus on getting through college first before we go searching for possible romance?" Ken asked.

"You can't keep love waiting." Hide said punching his shoulder lightly with a laugh.

Ken smirked and the two walked into the building going into the elevator and waiting.

The elevator stopped letting in a young woman the same age as Ken.

The young human female had very long messy green hair and ragged looking clothing as if she just threw stuff on.

Ken and Hide were standing behind her.

Hide had a grin on his face and gently pushed Ken forward and gently bumped himself into the young woman.

The young woman turned her head looking back at them and gave a smile and wave.

"Lost your footing?" She asked Ken.

"I uh, I'm so sorry." Ken said blushing.

"It's alright I get a bit clumsy myself from time to time." She said.

"Heh, Ken here is a total clumsy guy!" Hide said.

"Who knows Hide, you might trip and fall on your face." Ken said giving a glare to Hide who just smirked back at Ken.

"My name's Eto." Eto told them.

"Hello Eto, and sorry again for the clumsiness." Ken said.

The elevator door opened and Eto looked back and stepped out.

"Ken right?" Eto asked.

"Yes." Ken said.

"I hope I see you again Ken." Eto said.

The elevator door then shut and proceeded up.

Ken stood there blushing and Hide was grinning wide looking at him.

"I hate you." Ken said punching his chest.

"Ow, hey I did you a favor possibly!" Hide said chuckling.

Ken shook his head.

The elevator door opened and the two stepped out and headed to their first class.

"We can discuss this later, for now we got to concentrate on our courses. One more month you know." Ken reminded Hide.

"Right don't worry." Hide said with a serious look on his face and a nod.

The two walked into their class.

Meanwhile down a few floors, Eto was walking into a library checking out one of the electronic books and took a quick read of it before putting it back and finding another.

"Can I help you miss?" A librarian asked.

"I am just looking for something good to read about mysteries." Eto said.

"Say aren't you a novelist here at campus?" The librarian asked.

"I am, I made three novels since I was seventeen." Eto said.

"Well, I will let you go back to looking. Just come up to me if you need help to find what you are looking for." The librarian said and walked away.

Eto went back to what she was doing and found what she was looking for and right as she found it she immediately broke it with her bare hand showing she was quite stronger than what she seemed.

Eto let the pieces fall to the floor.

"Don't want anyone reading about the Kagune." Eto said to herself.

Eto checked a few more places in the library before walking out and back to the elevator.

Right as the elevator opened two people and Ken was waiting.

Ken looked at Eto and gave a small wave and she did the same as she entered.

"We have to stop meeting like this." Eto said with a slight smirk.

"I'm not stalking you if that's what you are thinking." Ken said.

"Who knows it could be me stalking you." Eto said.

Ken didn't know what to say and Eto realized she made him speechless.

"Ken was it?" Eto asked.

"Yes." Ken said.

"I haven't seen you around campus before and I've been going here for four years." Eto said.

"Same, I haven't seen you before either." Ken said.

"I guess our courses must have kept us from seeing one another." Eto said.

Eto looked Ken over and sniffed and her eyes slightly narrowed.

The two people walked out of the elevator and it continued going down.

Eto pushed two buttons in the elevator to make it stop briefly.

"What are you-" Ken began to say.

Eto suddenly summoned her Kagune which looked like grotesque appendages that sprung out of her back and with superhuman speed she immediately grabbed his neck.

Ken summoned his own Kagune which looked like four tentacles that were a red-violet mixture of color and clashed against her stomach.

Eto grunted but pushed herself against his attack showing strong durability.

"A one-eyed Kagune user. Just like me." Eto said.

Eto's right eye was black and her iris' was red, the same went for Ken but on his left eye.

The two went into hand to hand combat until the elevator continued.

The two immediately returned to normal.

"Why." Ken asked.

"I should ask you the same question." Eto said having a fake smile.

The elevator door opened and Ken quickly stepped out.

Ken thought for a moment and turned around putting his hand out to stop the elevator from closing.

"Can we meet at three o'clock out front on the street?" Ken asked.

Eto was shocked but hid it with a plain expression.

"Of course, that way we have a chance to explain ourselves." Eto said.

The two gave one another a nod and Ken walked off while Eto kept a fake smile as the elevator door shut.

"To think those that have the Kagune died out except me would be him. I have to get rid of him or he could be a threat to my plans." Eto thought to herself and made a fist.

Ken walked to his next class and sat down with a sigh.

"What the hell does she want from me, is my life in danger now and how does she possess the Kagune, I thought I was the only one who had such ability." Ken thought to himself.

The two thought about one another until their concentration was broken. For Ken by the teacher and for Eto by the elevator door opening.
