It was fast, it happened so fast that I barely had time to understand or process and I was already dead. "Welcome, your previous life ended, you among were one the selected to be sent to a new life in another world. Your selected world is Rise of shield hero, you will replace the one known as the shield hero. You can choose from the list two abilities and an inventory with 50 slots worth items. You will also receive a random protective. Good luck."
After finishing reading it, like a normal person I lost my shit, I screamed, I cried, in cursed, I kicked the chair, tried to talk with the screen, begged to it, and even cursed or cried until I sleep, but nothing changed.
I don't know how much time passed but now, I finally recovered my goddamn mind and after accepting it I started to think, I knew the world I was going, I read the novel, the manga and saw the animation, I had a good memory and if I tried I could remember pretty much everything about it, which was a good thing.
Now finally calm he slowly passed through the options available while he considered each option, despite me having a bar and going to parties, I was a huge geek and almost fanatical fan of fiction, novel, hqs, and mangas, so using the knowledge I had about fictions, HQ and novels.
I finally choose my two abilities, the first was upgrade, an ability from a novel he read, this ability can upgrade Equipment To become Stronger and have additional effects, he chose this ability because he could use it to make his future shields stronger and turn common items into useful or valuable items.
The second ability was, Nen, Nen was a form of aura energy from the hunterxhunter anime, nen had unlimited uses and applications, it could be used to heal, enhance one strength, control people, create elements and even grant wishes, it was divided into six categories and by selecting it he would have a 100 percent affinity with all categories.
With the two abilities taken he started to select the items he would bring with him, first, he went through all the powerful items he could remember, the infinity jewels, adamantium and uru, all these impossible to choose or required too many slots, a kg of steel needed 1 slot, but a tiny piece of adamantium or vibranium of the size of a nail costed 45 slots.
So after a few consideration he went to more common items, from the one piece world he picked some dial shell, pop green bags, and a few other items for 20 slots, then he used more 5 into a bag of seed from Toriko world, then more 15 slots into the hunterxhunter world, 1 slot in pokémon world, and the rest from different games, anime, and novels.
After filling all 50 slots, another screen appeared, this time for him customize his appearance and name, he decided to go with a 6,1 feet tall, black hair, green eyes and a body that resembled a young Arnold Schwarzenegger when he finished another message appeared.
For the name, he chose Marcus Kane, since it sounded good to him.
"Customization over. Bonus skill – Mental Immunity - Received. Name Marcus Kane, registered, starting the sending protocol, good luck on your journey."
After reading the message I was blinded by a shining blue light that surrounded me, the next moment I opened my eyes, I was in a different and unfamiliar place, with a small shield in my arm.

Alone in the room, he started to study the legendary shield options, because of novels and fanfics, he had a pretty decent knowledge about the shield, but reading about it and actually seeing it were completely different things.
He studied the shield for a while and when he was satisfied, he started to look through the items he brought with him, the first item he took was a white glowing orb, this orb was known as cure materia an item needed to use healing magic and put into the shield and a message appeared, showing a new shield.
It was pure white with a ball emitting rays of light.

"As promised yesterday, I have recruited companions who will accompany you on your journey. Apparently, everyone gathered has already decided which hero they wish to follow."
In the king's words the people divided and just as expected they approached the other heroes leaving him alone. Ren had 5 people, Motoyasu had 4 women, including the princess and Itsuki, had 3 people.
So far it was just like the novels and his expectations, during this time he decided to remain in silence and let things flow. Malty the bitch princess joined Naofumi after he complaining about being not chosen by anyone.
To him being alone was the best route.
"Now then, future champions. Please set forth with the Hero to whom you shall swear your allegiance." The king proclaimed.
Everything was going just fine until the sword hero raised his voice.
"King wait, the shield hero doesn't have any party members. Should he not have at least one?"
When the king was about to speak, I quickly cut him speaking with a high and clear tone. "You don't have to speak for me. If I need help, I can find it alone. If it was everything, I will take my leave."
With that he bowed to the king, turned and walked to the exit, luckily no one tried to stop him and he left the castle. Outside the castle he walked fast through the street, but not fast enough to bring unnecessary attention, casually asking around he quickly found the magic shop and Elhart's blacksmith shop.
Entering the little overweight middle-aged woman dressed like a witch, when she saw him, she opened a small smile.
"Welcome dear client, how can I help you?" she asked with a gentle voice.
"I want a book to learn how to read, some magic books, a recipe book and a blank book, if possible, a map." he politely asked, receiving a smile of the woman.
she started to walk through the shop and gathered a pile of books and showed him every book while she commented about them, in the end, he bought some books and a detailed map for 5 gold coin, he used a small gold ingot to pay and received 45 gold coin back.
He thanked the lady and left the shop with a smile, the gold bar was one of the items he chose to bring since money was needed for expenses and other things, he only used it to pay because he knew by the novel that the lady was a good person and he needed to know how much one worth.
His second stop was the blacksmith shop, and when he entered, he was received with a welcome shouted by the owner. He approached the man and put a small pile of gold coins in the counter.
"I want to have a look in all shields you have, some good quality weapon and a decent armor."
He seemed surprised for a minute them he opened a smile.
"Sure, thing kid, you will see that my work in top quality." He told happily.
He spent the next hour or so copying the shields inside the shop while Elhart was crafting a armor for him when Elhart finished he showed a beautiful piece of work, it was a brigandine armor made of magic steel and magic iron with monster skin, the metal parts covered all the trunk and shoulders, the waist and the legs were protected by a metal belt with chain mail skirt, metal armguards, and boots covered with magic iron plates.

After leaving the last shop he went to the slave shop, he used some time to learn the location of the shopping, but thanks to the casual small talking someone told him where to find the slave shop.
Following the instructions, he walked to the poor part of the city, ducked into a dark, hidden side street, and came across what looked like a circus tent. When he entered a strong, beastly smell, assaulted his nose, the place was dark and filled with cages.
"Ara, a new customer, how unusual, how can I help you?"
A short, creepy-looking little man wearing a circus ringmaster's tuxedo, glasses, and a long top hat, appeared in front of him with a large smile in the face.
"I'm the actual shield hero, I came here to buy some slaves."
Deciding not to waste any time he introduced himself and went straight to the point of his visit.
"So, you came to the right place them, please allow me to show my goods." The man's said politely as his smile became larger.
The short man guided Marcus through the shop to a cage, inside the cage a figure that partially resembled a human with fur, fangs, and claws. This was the werewolf that appeared in the novel and anime, unfortunately, the original shield hero never picked him.
"This one is the best good in my store, for the modest price of 15 gold coins you can have it."
Looking to beastman he briefly considered it, and then he nodded to the short man.
"I will take him. I need at least two more slaves capable of fighting, one blacksmith and some cheap and not crippled slaves."
The smile of the man got larger and he started to move around collecting the slaves and presenting them. In the end, Marcus Bought, the werewolf, a level 25 Boarman and minotaur gladiators, a level 10 blacksmith sharkman, a level 6 alchemist vampire, and 8 others low-level demi-humans.
He also bought Raphtalia, now she was just a sick and scared, but had the potential to grow into a vassal hero, so it was a waste to just leave her here, plus she was very cheap.
After paying 56 gold coins to the man, they performed the slave ritual, after the ritual he got some of the ink used in the ritual along with a bit of blood and hair of each slave and gave them to the shield, unlocking the Slaver's Shield 1,2,3,4 & 5, the Beastman trainer Shield 1,2 & 3, and other Shields.
Leaving the tent, Marcus followed by the slaves left the city, outside the city walls he took the weapons out the holding shield and distributed between the slaves before going to the monster fields.
With the high levels of the werewolf, the Boarman and the minotaur, no monster posed a treat. While the slaves were hunting monsters or collecting all kinds of materials, Marcus was sat in the ground while he trained his nen ability.
By the end of the day, Marcus reached the level 5, and every slave besides the werewolf killed at least 3 monsters, some hesitate or didn't want to fight like Raphtalia and the Rabbitman, but the pain caused by the slave seal, they quickly started to fight.
During the entire night, Raphitalia had numerous panic attacks, and Marcus and some slaves had to calm her down, while some of the slaves took shifts to fight during the night to hunt monsters.
The second day passed the same way, however this time the werewolf used the day to give swordsmanship lessons to the other slaves. During all this time, Marcus was concentrated in training and developing his ability.
Finally, a few hours before the sunrise he finished his training and went to sleep.
When he woke up, it was past midday and all slaves besides the werewolf were hunting, next to him small piles of herbs, monster parts, and other materials, were on the ground waiting for him.
Checking on his level, he saw that he was very close to reach level 10. With a satisfied smile, he looked to the werewolf.
"Go and tell to everyone to bring all monsters they can here. Start with the weak ones first."
The beastman looked surprised but followed the orders without doing any question. Ten minutes later the slaves appeared holding a group of rabbit-like called usapils. When they approached enough, they threw the monster next to him and retreated.
The group of ten animals looked to him and attacked, the shield in his hand shinned and changed to a round spiral light red shield with holes. One of the usapils jumped and tried to bite him. Smiling Marcus charged and hit the rabbit creature with the shield, when hit the creature, a bang resonated and the rabbit creature was smashed.
Impact Dial shield

This shield was unlocked by giving a taming bell to the shield, the bell was an item from a game, used by tamers to tame monsters. When the beastman was in his front, the shield in Marcus' hand to a square light green shield with a silver angel woman, with large wings.
Pointing the shield to the beastman, the eyes of the angel in the shield shinned and the figure of a translucid angel appeared and breathed a green wind in the werewolf, the breath covered the werewolf healing the diseases and wounds returning him to his peak.
Everyone that saw this scene was dumbfounded, but no one was more surprised than the werewolf himself, he knew how bad his injuries were, because the years of fighting and being constantly hurt, he was almost crippled by the injuries he had, and despite his high level he only could barely fight a level 40 with difficult, and now all his injuries were gone, and he was in his peak again.
"Hey feeling better?" Marcus asked with a smile.
Without trusting in his voice, the werewolf could just nod.
"Nice. Now, how about you capture our hide friend?"

"Welcome again dear customer, how can I help you today?" Beloukas asked with is usual large smile.
"I need ten more slaves, I don't care about their state just grab me the ten cheapest you have, with that said I heard that you sell monster eggs, I came to buy some." Marcus responded with the same cordial tone.
Despite all mannerisms and suspicious appearance, Beloukas was not a person with bad intentions towards him, so he treated the man with the same cordiality and education that he was received.
Beloukas' smile became larger and glasses seemed to shine for an instant. "You heard completely right, for 100 silver coins you can choose any monster egg, if you have luck you can receive the prize and take a dragon that worth's at least 20 gold coins, otherwise you are guaranteed to receive at least a filorial, that you can sell back to me for twice the price if you raise it well." As he finished speaking, he pointed to a box with 16 eggs.
Smiling he pointed his shield to the box holding the eggs and the shield changed, Markus remained in silence for a bit and then he grabbed all the box containing the eggs and put a bunch of gold coins in the place.

Leading a small slave group by a dirt road, Marcus was immersed in his plan to the future, behind him per his orders the entire group remained in silence while they walked, their destination was the Riyute village and they started to travel right after leaving Beloukas shop.
According to what he remembered this village is an important place, the mine where the original shield hero fought the twin-headed-dog was there, and it was where the second wave will occur.
And according to the information he got from the shadow, the mines there were filled with monsters of the first wave, including the wave boss Cerberus. It was a good chance to gain some level and get new materials and shields.
With him were the werewolf Kellam, the wereboar Berkeas, the minotaur Westin and Raphtalia, each one of them with new armors and new weapons. All other slaves were being carried inside the holding shield, so the weak ones would not slow them down.
The visit to the slaver trader was much better than he expected, he got the slave he wanted for a cheap price, he got the monster he wanted and with paying a few more coins he had the levels of the werewolf, wereboar and minotaur reset to level 1, got some Holy Water flasks and out of his expectations even the dragon hourglass sand that he needed to unlock the portal shield.

Chose to reset their levels, because the growths corrections given by the Slaver shield, Slave Trainer Shield and the Shield of the Beast King, because Raphtalia was since level 1 under the effects of those shields their stats at level 19 were equal to adventurers at level 30 or so, so resetting their levels back was an idea full of merits.
Besides even with their levels reset their skills and experience remained and during these short two days travel the beastman trio already raised their levels to 20, and their stats were far better than before.
The three were so happy that despite their status as slaves their kneeled in front of him and swore their loyalty to him.
The travel to the Riyute village was a three days long travel on foot, and one day with a filorial, fortunately, the monster in the way that helped them to raise their levels made it worth it. His thoughts were interrupted by a crack sound coming from his arms.
Looking down he saw the egg he carried in the arms was about to hatch, he stopped, put it on the ground and waited for the creature inside to break the egg, around him, Raphtalia, Kellam, Westin, Berkeas made a circle around him and started to watch.
The egg shacked a few times, until the shell was break and a beautiful red-scaled Tyrella came from the inside, the small animal looked to him with his golden eyes, before approaching a start rubbing on him.
With a smile, Marcus took it in the arms and started to scratch its neck for the pleasure of the creature.
Tyrella was sub-species of dragons that do not possess wings or the ability to fly and are generally used as transport vehicles similar to horses, however, their dragon blood makes them excellent fighters if raised well. Their appearance resembled a slightly bigger velociraptor with three horns on each side of the head.
Smiling he held the small dragon in the arms and talked. "Kellam, Westin, Berkeas, go search for monsters, bring them alive but wounded enough to not react or defend themselves."
"Yes, my lord of the shield." The three exclaimed and scattered in different directions.
While they waited for the monster, Marcus let Raphtalia play with the newborn dragon, taking one of the items he chose to brought he put it on the shield and a message appeared, Dragon Fang shield unlocked.

The slaves marked by tattoo had to obey or feel pain and die if they disobey, the slaves enslaved by this shield didn't have the option to disobey.
He pointed the shield to the small dragon and enslaved itwith the shield, now this small dragon would receive growth bonus from all shields.
The next fell hours passed with the three beastmen bringing severely wounded or weak monsters for the Tyrella kill them, they repeated this process during all day and part of the night, raising the small dragon's level to 10. Before they sleep, Marcus named the newborn Tyrella, Trifling or Trif for short.

Riyute is a small village with only one Inn very few shops and houses. The area is mostly surrounded by farmland, and it is close to many trade routes which makes it a convenient location. The village is rich in resources such as monsters, medical herbs, lumber, and ore that can easily be collected in the area surrounding the town.
The village lacked a medicinal shop, so they ordered it from the castle town's pharmacies, which made it necessary to sell cheaper medicine directly to the villagers in order to compete and make a profit.
In the future, after the second wave, this village would be given to the spear hero as a gift.
Marcus along with Kellam, Raphtalia, Westin, and Berkeas, passed by the village and went straight to the mines. Outside the mine was an abandoned shed, where the miners used to store pickaxes, rope, and maps of the mine.
He used the pickaxe and rope to unlock the Pickax Shield and the Rope Shield, the maps served to the Radar Map Shield that now showed all the extension of the mines, all the tunnels, the monsters, and the ore locations.
He changed the shield and released all the slaves inside. "Take those pickaxes, the miner's cart and follow me."
Without resisting all they followed his orders and picked the tools before entering the mine.
While the other slaves were mining, Marcus took Kellam and Raphtalia, to hunt monsters, while Westin and Berkeas, stayed to watch and protect the slaves.
Behind the trio Trifling followed them, in just two days the newborn Tyrella had quickly grown from a small cub to an adult Tyrella, now he strong enough to carry a fully armored adult and very menacing with razor-sharp claws and fangs.
It didn't take to long and they found the first monster inside the mine, a two-headed dog with bright red eyes and black fur. In the sight of the monster Raphtalia froze and started to shake, Kellam entered in fighting stance while he looked to the little girl shaking with concern, Trifling showed her teeth's and started to growl.
The dog barked and jumped in their direction, Kellam jumped in the animal with his shield and sword raised, he blocked the dog claws with the shield and with a fast strike he cut the dog's leg with a clean cut.

Energy for Reinforcement: is indicated as proficiency and displayed as a fraction which indicates the ability of the user with that weapon. If a weapon is used repeatedly the user gains proficiency and can later choose to turn proficiency into skill points using "Energy Grant" when the proficiency reaches the max.
Energy Grant: is a hidden power that can be unlocked by using energy granted from resetting the weapon's skill proficiency. Additionally, items absorbed into the weapon can be converted into energy.
Rarity: By using energy, it is possible to increase the weapon's rarity. With an increased rarity the weapons' overall ability will improve. Rarity levels include Common (C), Uncommon (UC), Rare (R), Super Rare (SR), Super Rare+ (SR+), and Artifact (AF).
Skill Points: are points used to change the rarity of the item or to awaken the real power of the weapon. Using the "Energy grant" some items can be turned into energy and skill points.
Tempering: is the strengthening of equipment through reforging it using ore.
Spirit Enchantment: is simply giving a weapon the fragment of a demon's soul to absorb (absorbing defeated monsters) through which special powers can be granted.
Status Enchant: Stats can be increased.
Reinforcing: is increasing the weapon's power by applying a specific type of ore.
Body Modification: Using energy stored up beside EXP, the user can add additional points to your Stats. Like in some RPGs, how certain seeds and other items can permanently raise a stat. It seems plain at first, but the amount of points you can distribute is high. Its main advantage is that the user can get an additional bonus on top of those for the weapon you have equipped.
Weapon Synthesis: Allows the user to transfer special abilities from one weapon to another. new weapons can be unlocked using it. The amount of syntheses that can be performed depends on the weapon.
Skill Enhancement: User can distribute skill points into Skills to increase their output.
Magic Enhancement: User can distribute skill points into Magic to increase their
output.
Magic and Skill Proficiency Level: By using the same skill again and again, a point value is stored up, and the output and ease of use increases.
Growth Elevation: While it may increase the innate amount of stats gained during a level without affecting weapons, it decreases the level of the person it's used on in proportion. That person will have to level up all over again.
Strengthening by Money: By expanding your wealth, you increase the bonuses brought by other weapons (the other forms of strengthening).
Item Encyclopedia Bonus: Increases stats based on how much of a certain type of item has been placed into the weapon.
