Part 1
Vader had just stepped through another wormhole. In fact, this was the third universe in a short string of wormholes since he initially departed from his original universe. Supposedly this one is to be the universe that the blue creature came from.
So far, it appeared that he had stepped out into a forested area. Off in the distance, sounds could be heard, possibly of a fight. The Force pulled him in the direction of the outbreak.
It did not take him long to arrive at a clearing. From here, he held back behind some cover to analyze the situation at hand. A battle between man and machine was raging. Multiple humanoid machines lay broken and scattered across the ground.
They were fighting against four individuals. Two appeared to be Force-users, with the ability to levitate. One was a young woman, the other an elderly man in a metal suit. Their companions did not display any Force based capabilities. Vader decided to peer into their minds.
The first one, a little short and stocky, had leapt towards a machine. Three metal blades extended from each hand, which he used ferociously to tear into his target. His mind was a chaotic mess, with random memories that appeared to come from different time periods. Although the more recent ones showed Vader that this individual could heal himself from virtually all injuries within seconds.
The second one wore a mostly blue uniform, brandishing a shield with concentric red and white circles. Having flung the shield, it bounced between three machines that descended upon him. Temporarily stunned, the machines continued to attack him after his shield returned to his hand. His memories were more typical. Resulting from a super soldier experiment during a time of global crisis, this was to be Vader's main target for today.
Third, the young woman had deflected an energy blast coming from one of five machines who had focused on her. They all unleashed a barrage of energy blasts, only to be blocked by the woman with one hand, while she thrust her other hand forward to telekinetically rip the machines at their mid-sections. Her memories were partially blocked. Inside the block was a deep seated power and terrifying rage, yearning for freedom.
Finally, the older gentleman, wearing a metal suit and helmet. With two raised hands slammed downwards in front of him, six opposing machines are crushed on the ground. Vader was unable to search his mind for the slightest trace of consciousness. Somehow this man was able to protect his mind with ease.
After having destroyed his opponents, the elder man psychically removed the heads from the three machines attacking the super soldier. Rising up his target, the bladed one walked over in an aggressive stance facing the old man, just as the young woman landed on the ground next to the super soldier. Having landed on the ground himself, the elderly individual faced off against the three of them, appearing ready to fight his cohorts.
"What are you doing here Magneto?" The soldier asked confidently.
"Why the same reason you are." The older man replied. "To figure out what happened with Mr. Wagner. Rumours of his disappearance have been circulating, interesting ones at that."
"Yeah, well how do we know that you had nothing to do with it?" The bladed one snarled while raising his right fist with the blades still showing.
"Logan, do you honestly believe that I would return here if I had anything to do with it." Magneto said assured of himself.
"We just got finished with one fight." The woman said, placing her hand on Logan's shoulder in an attempt to calm him down.
"Jean's right," the super soldier said as he placed his shield on his back. "We came here to find Kurt. If we have to, then I say we work with him."
Logan now faced the super soldier. "Too bad you're not in charge and just along for the ride Cap." Logan said gruffly, having slightly lowered his fist.
"But I do believe that the issue at hand has been sett-" Magneto was immediately cut off as his helmet instantaneously crushed his head. The three companions were left looking around to notice Vader step out from behind his spot with a raised and clenched fist. He released his grip and Magneto fell to the ground.
Jean levitated off the ground and flew towards Vader, while Logan ferociously charged forward and the super soldier ran forward with a drawn shield. As Jean closed in first she raised her hands, but she was cut short as the Sith forcefully extended his hand to rip her heart out through her back. She died instantly as her body flew backwards and slid across the field
"JEAN!" Logan yelled, continuing his sprint towards their unknown assailant. As Logan closed in, Vader lined his left arm across his chest and then flung it outward. The force of energy lifted Logan off the ground and sent him flying over the trees and into the forest.
Vader turned to face the soldier, who had stopped running and had drawn both his shield and handgun. One shot was fired, only to be deflected by the Force-sphere now surrounding Vader. The nine remaining bullets in his magazine had emptied and only a clicking sound remained with each pull of the trigger. All bullets had been deflected, allowing Vader to lower his shield.
The soldier flung his own shield. It flew silently through the air until Vader's skills in the Force knocked it to the ground. Now with his weapon empty and his shield so far off, the soldier was deeply concerned about the situation, trying to determine the best tactical move.
All of a sudden, a tight grip from an invisible hand encircled his throat, cutting off his air supply. His vision had become blurry, it became difficult to think straight. He collapsed on the ground, passed out, as Vader released his signature Force choke.
All of a sudden, an Imperial Transport Ship had flown by and landed next to Vader. The bay doors opened to unloose a dozen Stormtroopers. This was the first ship that carried a new prototype device to protect the occupants by creating a pseudo-Force signature in the ship's shield generator. Vader knew it would be ready before he stepped through the wormhole on the DeathStar, but he did not care to wait for a mere handful of Stormtroopers.
Vader lifted his hand, facing upward, to raise the super soldier off the ground and carry him into the ship. As Vader walked up, the lead Stormtrooper addressed him.
"Is everything alright your Highness?" The trooper asked after he inspected the immediate surroundings
"Everything is fine," Vader replied, "There is however, another individual in the forest." He pointed in Logan's general direction. "Find him and bring him back to me. Use any force necessary, even if you have to kill him." It was not worth his time right now to explain the full situation. "I will ensure this one is secured."
The lead trooper turned his head to address his men. "You heard the Emperor, let's move out." As they walked off, Vader carried the soldier into the ship.
Part 2
Logan had just awoken after having hit the forest floor. His neck was a little sore, he probably broke it again. But it had healed now, not even leaving a single trace of an injury. Standing up on his feet, he didn't know where he should go to find the man in black. All he knew was that he had to die by his blades for killing Jean.
His sharper sense of hearing told him that multiple individuals were approaching. Logan turned his head left just as a white armor clad soldier first an energy blast and hit the tree on the other side of his target.
"He's over here!" The white soldier announced as even more appeared out of the trees.
Weapons were drawn and pointed at Logan as he raised his hands to cross his chest. His blades unsheathed as they shot out of his knuckles. Logan dropped his arms and charged at the soldiers, filled with rage.
"Fire!" Yelled the first soldier, causing all of them to unleash a barrage of energy shots at Logan. Speed and agility allowed him to dodge most of the attacks, except for two, which severely burned him and the searing pain forced him to come to a stop and fall to his knees.
Crying out in pain, Logan could only take the unending fire from the soldiers. Luckily enough, or perhaps unfortunately, his body was able to quickly heal after each shot. Yes he was in pain, but it only served to enrage him further to the point where he would no longer act on thought, but instinct, and ignore the pain.
Before Logan had the chance to arrive at his more animalistic state, a beam of energy came from the sky and struck one of the soldiers. Everyone looked up to see a flying metal man, colored red and yellow.
"Open fire!" The lead soldier shouted and they retrained their weapons to shoot the metal fighter.
On the metal man's shoulder opened up a compartment full of tiny projectiles. Eleven launched from the compartment, each one targeted and pierced the chest plate of every single soldier. Weapons dropped as they crumpled to the ground.
Logan got back up to his feet as the metal figure landed next to him. His faceplate retreated and revealed his mustachioed face.
"What's up Logan?" He asked in a slightly elated tone.
"I had it under control Stark." Logan gruffed as he walked towards the dead soldiers.
"Why you're very welcome Logan." Stark replied facetiously, "Oh no," he continued, "I don't know what I would have done without you." Now he started walking over to Logan. "Seriously man, you've got to learn some people skills."
Logan looked back at Stark with a nasty expression
"So, any idea who these guys are?" Stark asked.
"Not a clue," Logan turned his face back towards the bodies. "But their boss killed Magneto and Jean."
"Well it wouldn't be the first time either of them have died." Stark remarked. Logan merely glared at the comment. "Seriously, how many people do we know that have been dead before?"
Part 3
Back at the ship, Vader and the two remaining pilots watch the monitor as the internal life sign sensors for the departed troopers shut off.
"Lord Vader, the squad appears to have fallen. What are your orders?" The pilot said.
Vader gave it a quick thought. "We shall return to the DeathStar at once." He ordered.
"Roger that, preparing for take off."
Part 4
Logan and Stark had arrived at a spot in the forest after having passed the clearing and sending out a message to alert allies to the situation. Stark was using his sensors to search for an anomaly in the area.
"What are we doing here Stark?" Logan asked.
"I told you, the Professor sent me here to help with the investigation." Stark replied.
"Anomaly identified," a male, computer voice stated.
"Thanks Jarvis" Stark replied. "We're in the right spot." He said, addressing Logan. Stark then pulled a small red ball, with a yellow circle, out of his suit of armor.
"What's that supposed to be?" Logan asked.
"This," Stark began, raising the sphere up to eye level. "This is what I have created to find Kurt. I have been studying the anomaly for a few weeks now and believe that he fell into it."
"Fell?" Logan stated questioningly.
"Long story, physics mumbo-jumbo, not really something you'd pay attention to." Stark added with a hint of derision. He lowered the device to level with his midsection. "Now this is just a prototype, but it should be able to transport it's wearer through the anomaly. It also has a mapping system to help orient a person to retrace their path."
"So what are you still doing here?" Logan asked.
"The only problem is that the anomaly produces a dangerous energy to an unprotected traveler. I haven't figured out yet how to compensate for it." Stark said, a little annoyed at his inability to solve a problem before him.
"So you need me to go through." Logan understood what was being implied.
"Well someone with a healing factor, but I guess you'll do for now." Stark jested
"Wait, are you saying that Kurt might be dead on the other side of this thing?" Logan asked
"It's possible, you should be able to confirm that by landing on his clothes after he turned into a giant puddle of goo." Stark replied. Logan didn't like the sound of that.
"Alright so how do we do this?" Logan asked. Stark pushed the yellow circle, causing it to light up, and immediately tossed it at Logan. The ball opened up at the middle of his chest and created four thin arms that went around Logan in an X-shape to reconnect behind his back.
"That flashing light means you're near an anomaly. Push it once to activate the mapping feature and twice to transport yourself through." Stark finished.
"Alright, see you on the other side." Logan stated right before he pushed the button twice and immediately disappeared.
