When Havoc announced he wanted everyone to head over to a karaoke bar tonight in celebration of his birthday everyone was on board, thinking it would just be some harmless fun. But the booze told a different story.

Since they doubted they would be coming home sober most of the team decided to take a taxi into the city centre that night however since Riza didn't plan on drinking she had offered Roy a ride there. She looked at her watch - 7:14, he was late as expected. She figured he'd probably left it all to the last minute again so she began to recline her chair expecting a long wait. However then he rounded the corner, his glitter suit shining in the moonlight. Riza did a double take then shouted out "Colonel is that you?". As he got closer she could clearly recognize him as he responded "Here I am my Dear Lieutenant - sorry for being late but it took me forever to find this fabulous outfit of mine". Riza couldn't help but roll her eyes as he got into the seat next to her. She had long since learned there was no predictability to his antics she thought to himself as she gazed at him with a warm smile. Roy then hurriedly spoke "Let's get there quickly I don't want them thinking I was that late this time!" and so they set off to the bar.

By the time they had arrived at the Karaoke bar the rest of the team was already there and Havoc was slightly drunk. As Roy got out the car Havoc gave a whistle as he saw the splendor that was the glitter suit. "What the hell is that Sir?" Asked Feury as a patch of light from the overhead sign reflected off of it. Mustang just grinned and headed inside, the others in tow.

Riza took a seat by the bar and ordered a glass of cider however the others just looked at her incredulously before Breda spoke up "Hawkeye c'mon one drink won't hurt - Havoc wanted us all to have some fun tonight!" and all the others backed him up to which she curtly replied "One only. And it's all your faults if I get drunk and you can't complain the next day". They all knew how little it took Hawkeye to get drunk and how much of a mess she became, but one drink couldn't hurt right? In the end she ordered a Maragrita and sipped at it whilst she looked at Roy and Havoc singing along to the radio on the stage. She tried to focus on the songs but kept having her gaze drift over to Mustangs face - and his absurdly stupid dance movements as well. So drawn in by Roy one drink quickly became two, then three and before she knew it she was heading up to the stage.

Her speech slurring she murmured "Birthday Boy get off the stage but glitter boy karaoke Now." As she shoved Havoc aside and took her place beside a tipsy Roy. For the next few hours the rest of Team Mustang looked on at them from the bar and laughed as the pair of them gradually got more tipsy and watching them flail their arms around trying to dance. If anyone else was there then they probably would have been booted off the stage but considering how quiet it was the owner didn't mind. It eventually all ended when Riza ended up vomiting all over the stage after Roy had spun her round then they were roughly booted out.

As they all stood on the sidewalk they pondered what to do next as both Roy and Riza were far too drunk for a taxi or even driving and none of them knew where Riza lived. Uncomfortable with the idea of a drunk Hawkeye crashing at one of their places eventually they gave into the Colonels assurances that he could get them both home fine. The rest of the team one by one got into taxis as Roy began to walk Riza home.

As they both stumbled along the sidewalk back to Rizas place, Roy's arm supporting Riza as she had lost her sense of balance several hours ago she spoke "Colonoooool" she said, before bursting into laughter at her own voice and needing to compose herself. Roy looked down at her grinning at him like a madman and couldn't help but give a lopsided smile at her "Yes Lieutenant?" he inquired. She remained silent for several streets until they were nearing her apartment when she spoke again, the smile gone from her face she whispered "I'm just so useless to you Sir..." and her sudden change in demeanour sobered Roy up as he looked down at her with a confused look on his face "What on earth do you mean my Dear Lieutenant? I don't know where I'd be without you." By this point they were at the door to her apartment and he propped her up against the wall whilst he fished under the plant pot for a spare key. Having unlocked the door he turned back to Riza to see tears streaming down her face.

Having gotten her inside and locked the door he began to boil some water on the stove and plopped some chicken down in the pan. This wasn't his first time caring for a drunk and sad Riza and he knew better than trying to carry her to her bed when she was in a state like she was. Once everything was done he made up some steaming chicken soup for her and sat down next to her, wrapping a blanket around her shoulders and cocooning in warmth. After the tears had stopped a bit he dared to ask what was bothering her to which she snapped "Colonel I was supposed to drive us home!" as tears began to reappear on her face "If I can't even do that for you how can I be there when you need me... I can't even be useful with the simplest of things". Roy waited for a moment then spoke, as he gently wiped a tear from her eye "Are you kidding? Just because you had a good night out doesn't make you useless, if that was the case I'd have fired the entire team long ago! And anyway... I love you too much for you to be useless" and as he said this he kissed her on the cheek and held her closely.

After she fell asleep he gently carried her over to her bed, struggling to avoid hitting her head on the door frame as he did so and carefully removed her shoes before tucking her tightly into her covers. He barely made it back to the couch before he too fell into the blissful realm of sleep.

As the sunlight streaming through her shutters hit her face Riza awoke from her slumber and as she stumbled out of bed she looked down to see that the dress she had worn to last night was still on her, but her shoes had been placed to one side. Feeling thankful for whoever removed her footwear and helped her avoid a morning or aching feet she hurriedly changed for work, noting that she was behind schedule. When she passed through the living room and saw Mustang fast asleep and half hanging off the couch she couldn't help but smile at how kind he had been to her last night. As she hurried by on her way out the door she paused to quickly kiss his on the head. Let him rest she thought He really deserves it.
