Memories matter

Chapter 1 -

"Hey Carter." He walked through the entrance of her lab like he owned the place.

"Good afternoon, sir."

"Whatcha doing?" He moved up beside her and looked over her shoulder.

"This is the new mini naquada reactor Dr. Myles has been developing. I am testing its efficiency." As he looked down at the reactor his arm wrapped around her waist. She looked down at his hand, surprised he would make such a move. "Sir?"

"Yes?"

"Ummmmm, what are you doing?"

"Looking at your toy."

She moved to the side trying to dislodge his hand, but he moved with her. "Sir, this isn't appropriate."

"Oh please. We both know you're interested."

"Sir! This is against regulations."

Jack rolled his eyes. "We've broken those many times."

"To save the World."

Jack shrugged as he scooted a little closer. "This is worth it too."

Sam glanced up at the camera as she again tried to escape his grasp. The light was off. "You turned off the cameras."

"Seemed like the right thing to do." He leaned in and kissed her. She pulled back so he grabbed the back of her head and held her still. She squeezed her hands between them and pushed him back, breaking his lips from hers and giving her some room to move.

"Stop sir."

He lunged forward and grabbed her upper arms, pulling her against him again. "Why are you fighting this Sam?"

"This isn't like you, sir. You need to go to the infirmary."

"That's a cop out. There's nothing wrong with me."

As he moved in to kiss her again, he kneed him in the groin and followed it with an elbow to the back of his neck as he fell forward. As she moved to get around him and escape her lab he grabbed her and wrapped his arm around her neck, cutting off her flow of air. She threw her head back, but he avoided the blow and kept pressure on her neck. She threw her elbow into his side, but he maintained his hold.

When she came to the left side of her face was colder than the right side and her chest hurt. She grunted as something hit her chest. She heard another grunt from behind her as pain ripped through her again. She opened her eyes and looked back towards the sound. She realized her pants were around her ankles at the same time she figured out Jack was raping her. It took her brain a moment to really process what was happening to her.

"Stop." He kept pounding into her. "STOP! STOP!" He ignored her shouts.

Sam tried to lift her face and chest off the lab table as she kept screaming but he slammed her head back down. "HELP! HELP ME!"

She twisted under him, but he kept one hand on her head and the other in the middle of her back. His grunts were making her nauseous. Tears welled up in her eyes as he pushed into her and stilled. He pulled out and took his body weight off her.

"Damn but you're hot."

Sam listened as he buckled his belt and closed the door behind him. Once he was gone, she slid to the floor and held herself as she cried.

"O'Neill."

Jack's eyes instantly opened. "T?"

"I am unable to awaken Major Carter for her shift."

Jack sat up and threw his legs over the edge of the bed. He loved it when they were visiting a planet that was industrialized and had a few of the comforts of home. That didn't mean they stopped taking shifts though. No way was the whole team going to be asleep at the same time while off world.

"That's unlike Carter."

"Indeed."

The four of them were sharing a suite with six bedrooms, so they each had their own room, and the person on duty could stay in the main living area. Jack followed Teal'c into the bedroom that had been assigned to Sam. Jack stepped around Teal'c, who had stopped in the open doorway.

"Carter, wakey wakey." She didn't move. Jack leaned over and gave her arm a shake. "Come on Carter." The lack of response put his nerves on edge. Carter was a light sleeper.

"T, turn on the light." The bright overhead light did not rouse her either. Jack sat down on the edge of the bed. He put his hands on both of her shoulders and gave her a strong shake. "Major, wake up."

Jack moved his right hand to her neck. Her pulse was steady but slow. Jack pulled his hand back and made a fist. He used his knuckles to rub her chest over her sternum, knowing it was painful and should elicit a response. When she still didn't move he looked back at Teal'c.

"Wake up Daniel. We've got to get her back to the SGC."
