Us Against the World

Chapter One

Jack was heading down the path to see his best friend Hiccup. He and Hiccup have grown up doing everything together and shared every little secret.

"Hey man." Jack said approaching the house.

"Hey Jack. What's up? Asrid's inside." Hiccup said.

"I wanted to come down and see you man. And to tell you, I'm officially on the Dream Committee team. I get to decide on the future of our world." Jack smiled.

"Dude! That's fantastic! Congrats. I'm happy for you." Hiccup hugged Jack.

"I know. You said Astrid is inside?" Jack asked.

"I was. Now I'm at the door hearing that your all and powerful." She teased.

"Well, I don't know about that but still, I guess I don't have to follow all of them. I can bend a few for my best friends." Jack said jokingly.

"Of course." Hiccup chuckled. He looked at his watch and started running. "Look you two, I have somewhere to be really quick, I'll catch up with you two tonight at the club? Same time as always?" Hiccup asked.

"Yeah man. Celebration!" Jack shouted.

"Yes. See you there." Astrid said.

And Hiccup went on running on.

"Well, I better get home and tell my-"

"Hold on." Astrid said grabbing his arms.

"What's up Astrid?" Jack asked a little concerned.

The look on her face said something was bugging her or that she was going to be dragging him down into some big mess.

"I think Hiccup is hiding something. And he's not telling me, or anyone else close to him for that matter. I have talked with everyone Jack. If you don't know what he's up to at this time every day, than we need to find out. And it works out that your on the committee." She said.

Jack sighed. This wasn't what he had in mind for his first day on the committee.

"Astrid. Your asking something VERY big. Not just as someone on the committee. But as a friend to Hiccup. You should know-"

"I do know that. And I have asked but he still won't tell me. I'm just worried." Astrid said.

Jack sighed. "Fine. But I'm blaming you for all this if we get caught." Jack said.

Astrid smiled. "Come on. I know how to track him." She said leading the way.

Jack followed her as they kept up with Hiccup. A few times it was close and they've nearly lost him.

But in the end, they got close.

"How much further?" Jack asked.

"You'll have to ask Hiccup." Astrid rolled her eyes and scoffed.

Jack scrunched up his nose but kept quiet.

Then suddenly, there was more than one voice.

"Hey! Hiccup's here!"

"He was meeting people?" Astrid questioned.

"Hey Hiccup. Glad you could make it."

"First one was a man, but that second voice was a girls. This is super far from town, even the city. Just on the edge of the border..." Then Jack stopped.

"What?" Astrid didn't like the look on Jack's face.

But he got closer to where the voices were coming from.

And as Astrid followed, Jack saw what Hiccup's secret was.

"Hiccup. It's great your here." A blonde girl hugged him.

"Thanks. And there she is. The Queen!" He shouted.

A tall girl with white-blonde hair walked up to him. "You just can't stop calling me that can you?"

"Sorry Elsa. But I love calling you that. Better than the "Snow Queen." Jack would have hated it if he was called "King of Frost" or something like it." Hiccup chuckled.

Jack's mouth was dropped. "He's hanging out with Disney." He said.

"What?! That's the Disney crew? Why is Hiccup hanging out with them?! It doesn't make sense."

Jack held his breath watching Hiccup hanging out with these people like they were all friends.

"So what's up with your sister?"

"Anna is perfect." Elsa said with a smile.

"Man. I wish my friends could hang out with you guys like I do. Get to know you."

"You know the rules." A taller boy spoke.

"Tadashi's right."

"Oh shut up Rapunzel." Elsa said cheerfully. "Who cares about rules? This is great! Breaking everything ever known. Being free from all these walls. It feels great." Elsa was speaking like a child. Jack didn't understand her. And that's what made him come forward.

"Well. I guess it's nothing but a blur to all of you then."

"Jack." Astrid shouted.

"Jack?! What on earth- Did you follow me here?! You Too Astrid?!" Hiccup was yelling.

"This is Jack Frost?" Rapunzel spoke. "He's cute."

"Don't start this." Elsa scoffed. "It's a pleasure to meet Hiccup's best friend. I'm Queen Elsa Snow. One of the highest on the Disney council." She spoke like she had any authority in this land. "You know this is against the law for ALL lands." Jack said.

"Wow. Hiccup said you would be like this. But I thought you'd be someone fun. But I guess not." Elsa shrugged.

"Are you kidding me Hiccup?! I thought you were cheating on me." Astrid said.

"What? Astrid. I would never do that." Hiccup said scoffing. "I can't believe either of you would do this. And this is why I didn't tell you." He said.

"Why on earth did you think this would be a good thing?!" Jack yelled.

Hiccup shook his head and started walking away.

"Hiccup."

"Don't talk to me." He snapped at Astrid.

"Everyone. Clear." Elsa said in a hush voice.

Everyone started leaving as Jack and Astrid watched their closest friend just walk away from them crushed and betrayed.

Astrid then left.

Leaving Elsa and Jack alone.

"Why is a Queen even breaking the rules?" Jack asked.

Elsa shrugged. "If you knew me, then you would know. But I'm going to tell you this, Hiccup has been alone for a long time and needed someone to talk to. I followed a friend here and found them talking. They both opened up their hearts. Something which we call, "magic" at the moment. Hiccup was feeling...something. And he couldn't face himself or even you two to talk about it. If you were a great best friend as he always tells us. Me. Then you should be there for him. Listen to him. See what he says, and don't take away something he feels so connected to." Elsa told him.

Jack watched Elsa leave to her side of the border.

As she vanished, he headed back to Hiccup's house.

Astrid was crying on the steps of the front door when he returned. Jack sighed and flew up and climbed in the chimney.

He wasn't Nick, but he was skinny enough for it.

He found Hiccup on the couch staring at a blank black TV screen.

"Look man, I don't know what is going on with you, and I really would like to know." Jack said.

"If you seeing them keeps you happy, I'm not going to stop it. But it has to be more secret then what your trying. If Astrid and I could find you, think of how everyone else could figure it all out." Jack felt like he was breaking everything he just took an oath for. So much for the Guardian's committee.

"If you really need help, I'm here for you. I am your best friend here. And you are mine. I'm sorry if I was never there for you and all but...Hiccup please talk to me. I want to help. I'll keep this secret." He said.

"Promise?" Hiccup asked turning to face Jack.

Looking at Hiccup's face, Jack nodded. "I swear on my own life." He said.

Hiccup then smiled. "Then help me convince Astrid, and help us, me and those people, break this rule. The law about lands. I want this law to be turned to ashes." Hiccup said.

Jack didn't know what he was getting into, but something told him that this was going to be a huge mess and he couldn't keep this promise at all.

"Alright. Whatever you say." But he promised. And he had to try and keep it. If he knew however what he would do in the future, he couldn't have ever followed Hiccup and made this promise. It was a breaking point

At Disney...

"Hello Elsa. How was your walk?"

"Perfect. I met a cool guy. I think he is anyway." Elsa smiled.

"Really? Who could this mystery man be?"

Elsa blushed a little. "Someone...like me." She felt her heart beating like it was about to explode. This is what true love feels like.
