Welcome to The Fixing Anthem! This story is season 3. Now don't get me wrong, season 3 wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the best either. So I have decided to put the plot line into my own words and add in my own characters. I bet Half of you won't even read this part, well keep reading, this is of importance. This series will cover seasons: 3, 7, 8,9 and possibly 10, but don't count on it. I bet nobody is going to read this to the end, that means I can say whatever I want! Whispers* The Techno Blades don't exist in the fic. And thank you nobody for reading this to the very end. ;3
"Ahh recess, my favorite time." Cole released a sigh, letting his body relax up against the desk.
"Why does Lloyd get to fly around town accepting awards while we're stuck here being teachers?" Kai mumbled under his breath, running his free hand through his hair.
"Guys! I got great news!" Nya declared, crashing through the doors into the breakroom.
"Trouble?"
"Danger?"
"A new menace?" The ninja blurted out their individual guesses.
"N-no, we got clearance for a field trip." A synchronized groan permeated the room. "To Borg Industries." Nya promptly added on.
"Not The Borg Industries?" Jay gasped, "As in home to super genius reclusive savant Cyrus Borg? Inventor of the hover car and anything else cool in this world-" Zane kicked him to make him shut up.
"Why can't we take the ultra dragon? Or The Ultrasonic Radar?" The students complained vociferously.
"Because they don't have one of these!" Cole proclaimed blatantly, holding up the microphone.
"Get a move on Nya!" Sensei Wu commanded enthusiastically.
"Aye-aye sensei!" Nya smiled, putting the bus into gear. Driving down the roads of New Ninjago City, the ninja analyzed the many differences since they were here last.
"Wow, the city's really changed." Jay observed.
"Yeah." Kai conceded, "Look out!" He called out as the bus swerved left and right before crashing into the post-man's car, causing it to land on top of the bus.
"Don't worry, I'll free this up." Cole guaranteed everyone, walking out and around to the crash scene.
"Step aside pedestrian."
"Who are you calling pedestrian?" Cole glared at the street A.I.
"Pedestrian: a person walking along a road or in a developed area." Zane defined for them.
"I prefer the old-fashioned way of transportation" Sensei Wu explained as he stepped down the stairs and out of the bus, "Walking."
"Welcome to Borg Industries, I'm P.I.X.A.L, Cyrus Borg's Primary Interactive X-ternal Assistant Life-form." A female A.I. greeted them at the door. "I'm sorry to hear about the traffic accident."
"Wow, news travels fast!"
"Everything in New Ninjago City is fully automated and interconnected." She explained, "Your antiquated bus should be ready shortly." She turned to the white ninja, "You are Zane, a droid like me, what does Zane stand for?"
"I stand for peace, freedom and courage in the face of all who threaten Ninjago-"
"She means your name, tin head." Jay interpreted.
"Mr. Borg would like to see the ninja on the 100th floor, if the others would follow me for the rest of the tour."
"Hey Zane, you with us?" Cole called to Zane, who was still staring off into space.
"Red ninja, blue ninja, black ninja, white ninja-"
"That's racist" Jay criticized.
The elevator made a buzzing sound, "Golden ninja not identified, wait for action."
"Mr. Borg believes technology is the key to making our dreams come true." P.I.X.A.L. elucidated.
"Woah! Cool, beyond cool!" the students clamored, gaping at the machines.
"Oh! They have a Perfect Match console!" One of Nya's female students' said with admiration.
"What's Perfect Match?" Nya inquired.
"It's the latest craze. It finds your perfect partner with flawless results. You should try it, Miss Nya!" The child suggested.
"I doubt a machine could know someone's-" She inaugurated, stepping onto the platform.
"Hello Nya, you are an independent, self-confident young woman who refuses to be in a boys' club. Analyzing match now." The machine lit up as little hearts appeared onto the screen.
"Of course it's gonna be Mr. Jay." One of the girls said confidently.
Collective gasps filled the room as the result came up.
"Who is that?" The hologram picture wasn't of anyone she recognized. He had dark hair with blue streaks in it, his eyes were brown and he had a confident winning smile. He was kinda handsome.
"I would have guessed ninja to sneak in a window, not use the elevator." Cyrus Borg greeted them.
"Oh my gosh! Are you-? Are you-?" The blue ninja gasped.
"Cyrus Borg? Yes. Unfortunately, when my parents gave me a name like that, my future in technology was predetermined." Borg clarified as he walked around his computer. "Ah yes, these." he gestured to his robotic spider legs, "Sadly, I've been disabled all my life, but it's nothing my mind couldn't fix. "Speaking of which, my deepest condolences, Zane. I heard about your father. Oh, he was a brilliant mind. He would have fit right in."
"Thank you, but loss is inevitable."
"Today maybe, but not tomorrow. Technology is making the impossible possible. The only limit to our potential is in that which we don't dream."
"Isn't this the same place the overlord was destroyed?" Kai observed. "Who dreamed up the idea of building a corporate headquarters here?"
"Ah, what better way to send a message to evil that we won't cower to anyone." He glanced around, "I see. Or better yet, I don't see the golden ninja."
"Oh, his hands are a bit full." Cole elucidated, "But we can tell him to stop by when we see him-"
"No, no, no. I-I'm glad it's just you four. I wanted to give you a gift!"
"A gift? Won't say no to that. It wouldn't happen to be cake, would it?"
"The future is what we make it!" the golden statue of Cyrus Borg proclaimed.
"Ah, so no cake." Cole made a disappointed face.
"Oh, wow. A statue. Of yourself-"
"I know! How cool is that?" Jay's excitement masked the other's sarcasm.
Borg grabbed Kai's arm and whispered, "Please, protect them with your life. All of ninjago depends on it, they're the only things that can stop him."
"Protect? Protect what?"
"You were right, I never should have built here. You must go, he is listening."
"The future is what we make it!" The statue kept repeating annoyingly as the ninja dragged it into the elevator.
"Guys, something weird is up with Borg."
"They're called artificial limbs, Kai. I know you hate machines, but you don't have to be rude. We're his guests."
"I mean he was acting suspicious." Kai corrected, "Like he was scared. He said we had to protect them with our lives."
"Them? Who?" Cole inquired
"Ah!" The ninja wobbled and fought to retain balance as the statue hit the floor, bursting to a billion pieces.
"Oh, great, now look what you've done!" Jay sighed
"It's hollow. There's something inside." Zane observed, bending down for a closer look.
Cole examined it, "Huh, why would he give us new ninja outfits? Guys, I hate to admit it, but maybe Kai is onto something."
"And what exactly is this?" Kai asked, holding up a map.
The computer in the elevator began beeping, "Assailants stand down and drop everything."
"First we're pedestrians and now we're assailants?"
"Nothing works" Zane reported as he promptly tried to hack into the computer. "Perhaps a malfunction?"
"Guys, this map must be important." Kai stated the obvious, "We have to protect them with our lives."
"Who is THEM?" Jay demanded, shouting over the blaring alarm.
"Have it your way," the elevator said creepily, "Goodbye." it then said all-too-cheerfully. All of the sudden, the elevator sped up, racing towards the ground at about 1080 miles an hour.
"Let the elevator have the map, Kai! I think it's made its point!" Jay shouted
"We have to get off this thing!"
"Going up?" Kai kicked out the emergency hatch on the top of the elevator, allowing everyone to spinjitzu out onto the roof of the elevator.
"Look!" Zane pointed to another elevator, coming up towards them. "Ready? Now!" The ninja made a synchronized leap onto the roof of the other elevator, causing the people inside to stare at he roof in horror and confusion.
"Looks like we just quit our day jobs." Cole observed, handing the others' their ninja suits from inside the statue.
"Oh my gosh our students!" Jay realized.
"And this our factory line where-" P.I.X.A.L. hesitated as alarms went off all throughout the building, "This will be the end of your tour." Her eyes turning red with evilness. Suddenly, all the machinery in the room jumped to life, menacingly coming towards the visitors.
"Stay back and stay together!" Nya instructed the students.
"This way! There's a way out!" One student observed, pointing towards a window across the room.
"No! Do not break formation!" Nya advised them, "Why don't boys ever listen to me?" She wondered.
"Gotta say, I love the new threads." Jay commented as the ninja broke through the doors into the factory line room.
"Alright, let's do this." Kai said, slipping the map into the pocket that he doesn't have.
"May I remind you that we are in a room full of evil robots, and don't even have weapons!" Jay screamed
One of the A.I. aimed, pointing his laser towards Jay. The blue ninja ducked out of the way just as the laser bullet left the barrel, causing it to crack the window behind them.
"Oh, snap." the ninja guessed what was about to happen, as the window shattered, causing gravity to suction them out the window.
"Grab on!" Cole called to the others, throwing the hose that was conveniently by the window. "Ready to crash the party boys?" He asked as the hose swung them down, and right into a thick, unbreakable window. Their fingers slipping and letting go, they fell down a few stories and onto an automatic window cleaning lift.
"Ow!"
"You fool," The overlord's ominous voice criticized Cyrus Borg "You tried to give them the only thing that could stop me, that could defeat me. And you thought I wouldn't notice? I'd get rid of you if I didn't still need you. Don't think to ever betray me again."
"Of course not! I promise! I promise!" Borg assured him.
"A promise isn't good enough."
"No! Please don't, no more!" He pleaded.
"That's when Borg said he was listening." Kai explained as they made their way slowly down on the window cleaning lift.
"Do you really think it's the overlord?" Jay asked.
"But how? We all saw Lloyd defeat him!" Cole reminded
"Defeat? Yes, but can he be destroyed?" Zane let them ponder.
"Need a ride?" Nya asked, sitting behind the wheel of a fighter jet.
"Yeah, thanks little sis!"
"Where'd you get this?" Jay wondered.
"Um, let's just say I collectively borrowed it."
"Hey, can you take us here?" Kai pointed to the small red X on the map.
"Uh…."
"What's wrong?"
She shot a confusing look at her brother, "You're pointing to The Island of Darkness."
