Chapter One: A Brave New World.
"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."
The entrance to the hellish dimension gave one simple warning to those who found themselves unfortunate enough to wind up there. The ever-expansive realm of fire and brimstone slowly but surely turned even the purest of souls into recognizable mindless demons. There was no escape, no purpose to its existence besides to keep them trapped in its grasp for all of eternity.
One such unlucky soul was Uzumaki Naruto.
Naruto trudged tirelessly across the red rocks of this unknown world that he had dubbed as some sort of Purgatory. There was no food here, no life besides demonic entities that feasted upon their kind for sustenance and power.
How long had he been here?
He couldn't tell, time moved differently in this place almost as if it moved at a snail's pace, it felt like head had been here a week, but he knew that not to be true. The events that had brought him here were still somewhat hazy, the only thing that he was certain about was that they had not won, at least not in the way that they would have liked.
Naruto came to a stop upon a hilltop, his gaze fell upon the rock engraved with the leaf insignia and his lips tightened in anger. Kaguya had sent him and Sasuke spiralling into one of her dimensions, but not before leaving them a parting gift.
All-Killing-Ash-Bones.
The darkness of her void made it impossible to detect, and surely as she had promised to make them suffer, Kaguya kept her word. Purple spiralling eyes stared softly at the grave of his rival and friend. Sasuke Uchiha died that day, in a world completely and utterly unfamiliar to them.
So here he was…alone, trapped in this blasted place with no hope of escape or reprieve from its illusionary nightmares and curses. He had tried everything, even destroyed this place a few times, only to find himself once more at its gates confronted by those haunting words time and time again.
"Waah Waah"
Naruto's musings were cut short by a shrieking cry, he rushed across the hilltop to try and see what was causing all that commotion and to his surprise in the middle of the red rock lay a blonde boy. Naruto landed gracefully, his RinneSharingan narrowed slightly wondering if this was one of the many illusions that this place cast.
"Hello…" Naruto said.
The young child spun around; hands stretched outwards in a fashion that looked comical but nonetheless proved to show that he was far from helpless. Naruto's truth-seeking balls instantly wrapped around his body as powerful rays of energy shot out from the heavens and zoomed towards him with impossible accuracy. They blew his shield apart; he was forced to substitute himself with a rock to get out of the blast zone.
What is Kami's name was this boy?
Naruto raised his hand in surrender before he could be assaulted once more, "Hey, hey…I'm not here to hurt you." He heard the boy sniffle slightly and Naruto made his way cautiously to him, "Are you okay?"
"H-home, I want to go home." He said softly. "Can you take me home, Mister…"
"Naruto…I'm Naruto." He gave the boy his outstretched hand, which he took gratefully. "What's your name?"
"Franklin. Franklin Richards." He whimpered out
"How did you get here, Franklin?" Naruto asked.
"I-I was just trying to show I could control my powers." Naruto sighed, so he ended up here by accident and now he couldn't escape as well.
"Come on…" Naruto relented, "It's too dangerous out here." Franklin snorted, completely affronted by the comment that there was anything more powerful than he was.
"I'm the strongest." Franklin huffed. "No one can…" Naruto immediately grabbed Franklin as the earth below the shattered, fire rose from the ground like a geyser and a deep guttural roar echoed from the depths below.
Great, the kid just jinxed them. Naruto and Franklin landed some clicks away from the large crater, steam and smoke obscured their vision, but they could still feel its presence.
Clap Clap
"Imagine my surprise when I sensed a reality warper in my dimension." A pale green-haired man dressed in a cape; his face permanently twisted in a sort of sickening smile. "And a young child, nonetheless. I couldn't possibly resist." He laughed maniacally, green fire danced around his body as he raised one of his bony hands and the world shifted. The entity immediately appeared in front of them, Naruto's tried to kick him, but his body just phased through.
Franklin murmured, "Nightmares…You're not real."
"Oh, but I am very much real." The apparition cackled. "And you are going to be mine." Franklin felt his body freeze as the man's eyes glowed with power, he could feel the entity enter his mind, he tried his up best to fight but to no avail. Franklin's body had been consumed by the ethereal flame of the apparition like entity.
The entity in Franklin's body stretched the limbs of his new body, "Yes. This body will do quite nicely." He turned towards Naruto, a mocking smile played on his lips, "And you failed once more, Uzumaki. I'm not surprised really, after all this time, you had yet to truly understand what this place is."
Naruto growled, "I don't care." His chakra exploded outwards as he took on RIkodo Form, "Get out of the kid."
Franklin sneered, "Such power, it's quite sad that you already have that infernal fox inside your stomach, otherwise you would have made a great host." He raised his hand, the Rasenshuriken heading towards were simply willed out of my existence.
Time froze.
Franklin approached Naruto's prone form, "It's unfortunate that you must die." He conjured one of his blades and stabbed straight into Naruto's heart before he allowed to time to resume once more.
Blood pooled out of Naruto's mouth as he gasped in surprise, runes spread out from the blade and across his body. He felt his body begin to shut down, his healing factor was useless against the possessed Franklin's warping powers. He grinned bloodily as his eyes began to dim and his body crumbled to the ground, dead.
Franklin drew his blade from Naruto's chest, he gave the Uzumaki one castaway look. Nothing could defeat him in this body, the other lords would not stand a chance against him. Soon, Nightmare would rule the underworld.
"Where are you going?" Franklin heard the softest of whisper's behind him, he spun around to see him staring at the hateful gaze of Uzumaki Naruto. He couldn't possibly react in time as Naruto's palm slammed straight into his stomach, chakra pulsed into his body and Naruto activated the Yang seal, the possessed Franklin screamed in pain.
"H-How?"
Naruto grinned foxily, "Your first mistake was taking a corporal form, your second mistake, well that was underestimating me." Nightmare screamed in anguish as Naruto's yang seal forcefully excavated him from Franklin's body. Naruto's RinneSharingan spun wildly, the apparition turned towards Franklin's unconscious body and fly towards it, intent on possessing him once more.
"Fuinjutsu: Uchūkusari Tessou." Naruto slammed his hand's together as he completed the technique. Nightmare felt a powerful tug as dozens of ethereal blue chains shot out from beneath Naruto's feet, he tried to cut them down but they kept multiplying, attaching themselves to his body.
Nightmare felt himself being dragged by adamantine like chains, Naruto grabbed the large scroll strapped to his back and unwound it, revealing a dense and complicated seal array.
"You will pay for this, Uzumaki! I will return." The entity screamed as he was swallowed into the seal in the scroll, Naruto had no doubt that the being would escape eventually but his primary concern was Franklin.
Franklin looked at Naruto with wonder, "Can you teach me how to do that when we get back home." Naruto shook his head in amusement at how quickly the boy had just shaken off being possessed.
The world began to shake rapidly, Franklin let out a cry as he fell to the ground once more, he knew this feeling well, it was the beginning of a dimensional shift. The realm was beginning to break apart without its ruler and soon both Franklin and Naruto found themselves blinded by a powerful white light.
Franklin closed his eyes and used all of his willpower to wish that he was back with his parents.
Doctor Strange prided himself in being the master of all that was arcane, it was after all his duty as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme to ensure that the mystical never interfered with the mundane. His power and expertise were sought all over the planet, if there was ever anything magical going on, he was the guy to call.
"What do you mean, you can't find him." Susan Storm shouted angrily, "Whatever took him was mystical in nature."
Doctor Strange sighed, "It is impossible to detect a reality warper, Susan. Your son vanished off his own accord."
Reed Richards hummed, "And what of your magical instruments, do they not give you the whereabouts of our son."
The Sorcerer Supreme sighed, "Such rituals take time, we must have patience." Susan wasn't having any of it, her son could be lost in the middle of nowhere and they weren't doing anything.
Johnny Storm gently held his sister and whispered words of encouragement, "He's going to be fine, Sue."
The Sanctum chimed, Doctor Strange felt a powerful wave of demonic magic erupt from the Orb of Agammatto. This wasn't good, it could only mean that something major had happened in one of the dimensions belonging to the Hell Lords.
"By Hoggoth, how is such a thing possible?" He questioned. The Dream Dimension had been shattered which meant that someone had managed to defeat Nightmare in his dimension.
And they were coming straight here.
A multicoloured rift blew apart in the middle of the room, a blinding light spread throughout the room forcing them all to cover their eyes. Doctor Strange raised a barrier in time as he felt a sudden spike in energy, two figures were spat out of the rift at high velocity, he heard them groan in pain as they collided against the invisible barrier.
The light eventually died down revealing who the two intruders were, Susan Storm was the first to notice Franklin who has currently bundled in the arms of a teen. "Franklin!" She shouted and rushed towards her son.
Franklin opened up his eyes at the unforgettable voice of his mother, he smiled brightly, "Yes, Yes…I did it, Naruto." He exclaimed.
Susan Storm scooped him up from Naruto's arms, smiling and hugging her son. "Oh, thank god, Franklin. You had us worried." She stared at him sternly, "Don't ever do that again."
Franklin nodded tearily. "Is Mister Naruto okay, mommy." He asked. Susan peeked over her son's shoulder to see the unconscious form of the teen, "He saved me."
Gasp
Naruto let out a strangled gasp for air, his mind spun wildly from the spiralling effect of inter-dimensional travel. "Son of a bitch…Never again. I'm never doing that again." As he came to, he found himself in the presence of four bizarrely dressed humans and an orange rocklike being.
"Who are you people and where am I?" He demanded, his chakra flexed outwards in an intimidating fashion.
It was moments like this that made Doctor Strange hate his job.
Naruto frowned intensely as he sat comfortably in the presence of one sorcerer supreme and the Fantastic Four. He had told them everything, or at least as much as he was comfortable with revealing, he told them where he had come from, how he had been trapped in that hellhole for more than a lifetime and how Franklin and he had escaped. "So, you're telling me, I can't go home."
Reed Richards said, "Travelling between different universes is very risky, especially without knowing where you are going, it's like a rolling a dice, only the amount of universes in the multiverse are infinite, so the chances of you landing in your universe is almost zero." Reed thought it was better to keep quiet about how even if Naruto landed back home, it was more than likely that he would end up in the distant future rather than at the time that he had left it.
Naruto buried his face in his hand and let out a tired and weary sigh, "Than it was all for nothing."
Reed nodded. "I'm sorry I can't be off more help." Susan nudged her husband and Reed quickly added, "Whilst I cannot give you what you seek, all I can give you is a place to stay until you become more accustomed to life on this world."
Johnny Storm nodded. "It's totally cool with me, anybody who saves my nephew is good in my book."
Franklin jumped up and down excitedly, "And you can show me how you did that thing with your eyes." Susan Storm looked at her son with amusement, she had never seen him so excited to learn something.
Doctor Strange sat silently, judging the boy in front of him with intense scrutiny. Barely older than 17, Naruto Uzumaki had been through enough suffering to last a hundred lifetimes. The fact that he had not gone insane from it all was a miracle in itself, Strange couldn't imagine anybody lasting in the Dream Dimension for that long without losing themselves to Nightmare's games.
A part of him feared that he was letting someone who could potentially pose a huge threat to them into their world, the boy was reluctant to give them any historical context of his land beside a brief rundown, he had come from a place called the Elemental Nations. The dimension was run-down with war and strife, it was primitive and militaristic as a posed to this world. From what little information that he had been given, it was easy to surmise that Naruto had been trained from a very young age, a weaponized child soldier that knew nothing besides to fight.
Naruto's eyes flickered towards the prone and silent sorcerer, he knew that look well, he had seen all the time on the old man Tsuchikage's face. "I know what you're thinking," Naruto said.
"You're wondering if I am a threat to your world?" He made no indication to answer but Naruto could surmise by the Sorcerer's grimace. "I don't blame you or anything, I'd probably do the same if I was Hokage. The answer is no, I'm not a threat to you or your world."
Doctor Strange merely nodded, his magic sensed no deception from him.
Johnny Storm slapped his hands together, "Good, great. Let's get going then, I'm bored, and all of these artefacts give me the creeps." He shuddered as he stared at the skull on the desk that had green mist billowing out of its mouth.
The Fantastic Four and Franklin began to make their way out of the room. Doctor Strange said, "I will continue to research how you ended up in the Dream Dimension. Perhaps it may lead to a way you can get back home."
Naruto gave the Sorcerer a thankful nod and headed out of the room. "Oh, before I forget." He threw a scroll towards Doctor Strange, "You can start by asking the demon." Doctor Strange looked stupefied at the prospect that an entity like Nightmare could be sealed in a flimsy piece of paper. He wondered how the world would react to the presence of a new superpower, once the young Uzumaki stepped out of the Sanctum, there would be no stopping the world from sensing his presence.
Naruto stepped outside into the bustling streets of New York City, he was amazed by the sheer amount of people and the large buildings that surrounded him.
Johnny Storm wrapped his arm around Naruto's shoulder, "Welcome to Earth, you're going to love it here."
Author's Note: Hey guys, I hope wherever you are life is treating you well and you're keeping safe. This is my new story; some of you asked for a marvel crossover where Naruto travels to the Marvel Universe, well, here it is. I am going to draw inspiration from the comics, MCU and the cartoons like X-Men Evolution, Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Spectacular Spider-man. Since I'm more familiar with the X-men and Avengers more than any other group, I'll primarily focus on those story arcs.
Naruto is more powerful than his normal self, blessing of having a pair of RinneSharingan's and having an eternity to train in the Dream Dimension. But he won't be so powerful that he could curbstomp planetary level characters like Doctor Strange and Thor.
So what did you guys think? Leave a review, I really enjoy appreciate your feedback.
Thanks for reading and hopefully, I will be able to update in the coming week, though if I don't it's probably because med school has us really busy.
