Chapter 1: Planet Namek

(Goku POV)

Goku sat in an uncomfortable silence as they flew towards Namek. It just felt wrong to him conquering another planet. He hoped he wouldn't have to do it for much longer, he hoped his newfound friends would see how wrong this was. But they didn't stop, they just continued the path to Planet Namek. After what felt like years for Goku, they made it to Namek. He got out of his pod and looked around.

It had blue grass, water, trees and even people. It reminded Goku so much of Earth. The other Saiyans, however, were keen on killing all the people who lived there. Good sighed and flew over to the other Saiyans. They seemed to be planning something. They turned to Goku as soon as he arrived.

"Look who just decided to show up," Rozumari said with a laugh. Vegeta shot her a stone cold glare. "Okay, so here's what we were thinking. You and I can go conquer the villages on the left. Bardock and Raditz, the right. And Vegeta gets a free for all, because he wants to. We all will meet back here in thirty minutes, so don't get too carried away. Let's go!"

Goku and the others nodded and went their separate ways. Leaving Goku and Rozumari to stare at each other. Rozumari looked to the villages on the left side of the planet. Goku looked to Rozumari. She looked like she enjoyed doing this. Goku didn't know why. It was cruel and inhuman. It wasn't right. But as he had decided, he would just go with the flow. If there were children, he hoped that the Saiyans would at least have some humility there.

Rozumari looked at Goku and let out a harsh sigh as she realized that he wasn't paying attention. Goku continued to stare out at the serene landscape. Goku truly did like Rozumari, but this whole conquering the planet thing was making him swerve more towards Bulma or Chi Chi. Goku sighed and powered up to his maximum, as a warning to the Namekians that they were foes, not friends and they were coming for them.

"I never thought of that! Nice job! Now, let's get to those villages! You'll get to be a full Saiyan Elite in no time. Cause there is something I noticed, you are a little bit stronger than my brother. And you are getting really close to my level. At this rate you'll get higher than me in a matter of days. Then you'll be stronger than Bardock, Raditz, Vegeta and I," Rozumari said, flying next to Goku. She looked down at the landscape below. Goku felt strangely comforted by it. It felt like home. "This remind you of Earth?"

Goku nodded and continued flying. That was when he noticed a village. He flicked his tail in a silent signal that he had found a village. Rozumari smiled and flew down to a ridge. Many people with green skin and pointy ears walked below them. They were so innocent, that was when Goku noticed a familiar orange ball. His eyes stretched wide. No way that was a Dragon Ball! But it was, no matter how many times Goku rubbed his eyes he still saw the Dragon Ball.

"Hey, Rozumari," Goku whispered. Rozumari looked at him, waiting for what he had to say. "I think there's a Dragon Ball down there."

"What's a Dragon Ball?" Rozumari asked, a confused look in her eyes.

"There are seven balls in total. Once you collect all of them, a dragon appears that will grant you any wish you want. Like immortality, going to different planets and much more! So if we maybe wanted to bring them to Frieza?" Goku explained, nervously.

"Oh, Kakarot, you're a genius! I'll contact Vegeta right away! You can contact Bardock," Rozumari said. Before Goku could ask how, Rozumari threw him one of the strange devices they had. "Put it on your face and press the green button. There, you should be in contact with Bardock now."

"Kakarot? What is it?" Bardock asked.

"Did you by any chance find an orange ball with stars on it?" Goku asked.

"Yes, Raditz is trying to break it right now. Why?" Bardock replied.

"Tell him not to, Frieza might be interested in what they have to offer," Goku said. Bardock let out an interested noise. Goku fought back an amused laugh. "Those balls are known as the Dragon Balls, they grant you any wish you want, including immortality."

"Incredible! Lord Frieza will be most pleased with this news. Contact him with the yellow button on the side of your scouter. RADITZ, STOP TRYING TO BREAK THAT BALL!" Bardock said, then the line went dead.

Goku pressed the yellow button and that familiar smooth voice responded, "What is it, monkey?"

"I found something that I think you would be interested in,' Goku replied.

"Oh! What is it, Kakarot?" Frieza asked, clearly now interested in what Goku had to say.

"There are seven orange balls with stars on them. When they are all gathered together, they can grant you any wish, including immortality, they're known as the Dragon Balls. I know because there's a set of them on Earth," Goku replied.

"What an incredible find! Nice job, Kakarot, you may have just proved yourself useful. Is there anything else you would like to say?" Frieza said, laughing.

"If these ones don't work, we could always find the ones on Earth. That is if we have to speak the native language on this planet. We can easily speak the language on Earth and summon the dragon," Goku said. He fought back a gulp as he added, "No matter what the intentions are of the person."

"This is wonderful news! Zarbon, Dodoria, take me to Planet Namek now! I want to see these Dragon Balls myself. Nice job, Kakarot, you and your friends can take it easy and wait for Dodoria, Zarbon and I," Frieza said happily.

The line then went dead. Goku let out the gulp he had been holding in. Rozumari looked up at the noise and tilted her head in a confused fasion. "What is it, Kakarot?" Rozumari asked.

"Frieza plans to come to this planet himself to see the Dragon Balls. He told us that we can take it easy, that he, Dodoria and Zarbon would take care of it," Goku said nervously.

"WHAT?! Does he think we're that incompetent?! Ugh! I'll tell Vegeta, Bardock and Raditz," Rozumari said, her tail bristling and her eyes blazing. Goku fell silent as she delivered the news to Vegeta. An angry shout was heard. "I know right?! Seriously, we can take them ourselves! I mean seriously!"

Goku sat on a rock, popping his knuckles. As fascinating as the mission was, Goku really hadn't wanted to kill anybody. Why did they seem angry about not being able to do it? Goku didn't see the point in risking the question. Vegeta was not as strong as him, but they were pretty close in strength. After what felt like hours, the other Saiyans arrived at the area where the two Saiyans were waiting.

Goku stood and greeted Raditz with as friendly fist bump, as they had bonded on the trip to the planet Frieza had greeted them on. Bardock smiled at the friendly interaction and whispered something in Vegeta's ear. The prince looked outraged at whatever Goku's father had said. Raditz looked to Goku and they shrugged. That was when they heard footsteps coming towards them.

The six Saiyans turned around and saw Zarbon, Dodoria and a couple of Frieza force members. Goku had an uneasy feeling at the amount of soldiers that had been brought to the planet. Surely, Frieza did not need that many men to attack this planet. But they weren't looking at the village with the deadly glint in their eyes. It was the Saiyans. The others seemed to notice it and their eyes widened with shock and anger.

"Dodoria, Zarbon, shouldn't you be looking at the village like that. Not us?" Vegeta asked, taking a worried step backwards. The other Saiyans nodded in agreement to what the Saiyan prince had to say. A wide smirk grew on Dodoria's face and he walked towards them. "W - What are you doing?!"

"You Saiyans aren't needed anymore. Frieza told us to dispose of you," Dodoria said. The Saiyans glared at him and got into their fighting stances. They all looked to each other, worried looks on their faces. This was not good. "Goodbye, monkeys!"

Without warning, Raditz cried out in pain. The remaining Saiyans turned to their friend. Raditz's eyes were wide and glazed with pain. Goku cried out as he saw a massive hole opening up in his brother's chest. Tears streamed down his face and he ran forward. Goku knew that his brother was dying, but he didn't want to lose him, not like this. He took out a Sensu Bean, his hands were shaking as his body shook with the tears.

"H - Here, Raditz, take the bean. It - It'll heal y - you. Please don't go," Goku said, putting the bean in Raditz's hand. Raditz took it and tried to put it in his mouth, but his eyes glazed over and one final breath escaped. "Raditz? Raditz!"

Goku felt extreme power growing into his muscles and felt the anger burning in his skin. He felt grief from long ago, his grandfather's death, to having to leave his friends behind, to the present. A golden, glowing aura went all around him, drowning out the sounds of his tears. The immense power was almost too much for him to control. The other Saiyans were watching him in horror. Goku's hair turned golden and his eyes turned to a turqoise like color.

"No way! There's no way that he's the legendary Super Saiyan," Vegeta gasped, taking a step backwards. The other Saiyans were equally surprised. Goku glared at Dodoria, his eyes narrowed and his stance stiff and well composed. "He did it. He's the legendary Super Saiyan!"

"Dodoria! Zarbon! You're all going down. You're all going down to my hands! You all are going to die!" Goku shouted, feeling the power pulsing through his muscles. He felt more tears but he shook them away. "DIE! KA - ME - HA - ME - HA!"

Dodoria screamed in pain and was quickly disintegrated by the power of the blast. Goku turned to Zarbon who was taking a step back. He flicked his hand and the Frieza Force members flew forward at full power. Goku screamed in rage and the soldiers were blown to pieces. Goku panted, trying to control his power. The other Saiyans had already fled to a safer place. He then turned to Zarbon who was already in a panic.

"How could this much power come from just a measly child?! How could it be a Saiyan?! What is he?!" Zarbon gasped.

"I am the lightbulb in the darkness! I am the savior of all the races that cry out in terror! I am Son Goku! And I am a Super -" Goku began. A powerful energy blast hit him in the jaw, seemingly cutting him off. "Saiyan."

Shock filled Zarbon's face. He flew away in terror, his eyes wide. Goku watched him go and sighed, feeling the energy disipate. He fell silent and walked over to Raditz. There was blood all over him and tears had spread to the corner of his dead brother's eyes. Goku gently cradled his brother in his arms and cried into his chest. The other Saiyans only stared at him in shock and horror. Goku noticed that Raditz's eyes were still open and he gently closed his eyelids.

He felt sadness going all around him, swallowing him like a food. His anger had exploded into a power that he had never known he had. Goku felt people crowding around and looked up. Shock was visible in Vegeta, Nappa, Rozumari and Bardock's eyes. Goku didn't care, he just wanted his brother back. Suddenly, his scouter went off, signalling that someone was calling. He didn't want to answer, but he did anyway.

"Hello, Kakarot. You really impressed me, you got me to call the Ginyu Force. Don't ask questions, just wait. You will face your demise soon. Zarbon has been eliminated so that the Ginyu Force can work in peace. Bye!" Frieza said in that familiar smooth voice, before Goku could say anything, the line went dead.

"Uh, guys, what's the Ginyu Force?" Goku asked, confused.

"SHIT!" Vegeta shouted. "The Ginyu Force is Frieza's ultimate, elite force. Wait, if he called the Ginyu Force, that means we need to train, now! There's no time to waste, who knows where. Those guys are!"

"Okay. I'm sure I can take them, but I'm sure you're right. But here's a question, what are we going to do about Frieza?' Goku asked. The other Saiyans fell silent at the question. "What? Frieza can't be that strong if he keeps on sending his forces to do all of his dirty work! I don't see the point in waiting."

"Kakarot, Frieza is the strongest being in the universe! He'll squash you like a bug if you get anywhere near him. We need to train and you need to work on controlling that Super Saiyan form, it could come in handy," Bardock replied. Goku fell silent, agreeing with his father. "But the question is how? There's no way just sparring will get us anywhere."

"It'll have to do. I have a friend named Bulma who's a genius, but she's all the way on Earth. And who knows how long it'll take to get to Earth. And how long to we have until the Ginyu Force arrives on Earth?" Goku said, fighting back anger, if only Bulma were there.

"It would take too long to get to Earth. The Ginyu Force arrives in five days. And how would Bulma help us?" Rozumari asked.

"She could build us a gravity room or something," Goku replied. Interest grew in Vegeta's face as soon as he said those words. "She's also been my friend since I was eleven, so I know her pretty well. She's not a Saiyan, but she is helpful in stuff like this."

"I've always been interested in women like her," Vegeta said, blushing.

"Someone's in love with an earthling!" Rozumari taunted, her eyes wide with excitement. Vegeta slapped her, his eyes blazing, but still blushing like crazy. "What? You can't hide it, it's way too obvious, dear brother."

"Shut up!" Vegeta snapped, his eyes blazing and narrowed to tiny slits. Goku found himself quietly laughing to himself. "What are you laughing at, Kakarot?!"

"Nothing," Goku replied, still laughing. Then he remembered Raditz and fell silent. "How could he?! How could Zarbon kill Raditz?! He was just a young adult doing the right thing! Wait, how could I say that, I hate killing! Why is my life so messed up right now?!"

"Kakarot, listen to me. Do you think Raditz would want you to cry? No! So why are you crying! Wipe your tears, and fight for him. Smile for him," Rozumari said harshly, though there was sympathy in her gaze.

"Do you know what it's like to lose someone close to you?! Do you?!" Goku snapped. Silence fell around the clearing. Rozumari looked down at the ground. "Just as I thought! You don't, I've felt that pain twice now! Once with my father figure, Gohan and now with Raditz! You don't know the pain of loss the way I do!"

"Kakarot's right. We need to give him time. He's not like us, he doesn't like to kill. Just listen to what he said. He's different than us and look where that's got him. He's the first one of all of us to go Super Saiyan and he has friends who love and support him. What do we have? A track record of being Frieza's lapdogs. So what are we going to do? Are we going to continue with our ways? Or are we going to change them for the better?" Bardock said, his eyes narrowed.

Goku looked down at Raditz's body, which had since gone cold. "I'm going to clean Raditz up. It's a form of respect," Goku muttered, gently grabbing Raditz. "You guys can continue to talk."

"Okay, be safe Kakarot," Rozumari said.

Goku nodded and flew off. He sighed with relief at the thought of being away from the other Saiyans. Goku looked down at his dead brother and smiled weakly. Raditz had been a good man and had only wanted what was best for Goku. He had even agreed not to kill any Namekians when they arrived at Namek. Goku found a stream and gently laid Raditz down in it. He tore a piece of cloth off of Raditz's pant leg and soaked it in water.

"What are you doing? What happened to that person?" a voice asked, startling Goku. He turned around and saw a Namekian looking at him in confusion. Then he noticed Goku's tail. Terror showed in the Namekian's eyes and he got into a lopsided fighting stance. Goku didn't reply to what the Namekian was doing. "Are you one of the invaders of my planet?"

"Yes, but I'm not like the others," Goku replied, not looking up from his task. He grabbed the drenched cloth and gently wiped off the blood from his brother's chest. He fought back tears as he worked. "I came here to get away from my friends for a while."

"What happened to your comrade?" the Namekian asked.

"He was killed okay?! He was killed by my 'boss's' right hand man! And this isn't just a comrade, he's my brother!" Goku replied. Then something occurred to him. It had been three years since he had left his home planet of Earth. If he returned, would his friends recognize him? "How come it's not dark?"

"You see, our planet has three sun's, so we rarely ever see the night," the Namekian said. Goku was interested. This planet was strange alright. But it was also comforting. Suddenly, he felt a gaze on his back. Tail bristling, he pushed the little Namekian child behind him. "What's going on?"

"Hush! Someone's watching us!" Goku replied, putting his pointer finger on his lips. The child gasped and protected Raditz's body from whatever was out there. "Thanks buddy. That's really nice of you!"

"No problem, it's a form of respect," the little Namekian replied.

"You're a kind little guy! What's your name?" Goku asked, smiling down at him, while still scanning the bushes.

"I'm Dende," the kid replied. He tilted his head in curiosity. "What's your name?"

"I'm Goku. Some call me Kakarot, but I tend to go by Goku," he replied.

"It's nice to meet you, Goku!" Dende said, smiling. Goku nodded in agreement, smiling. These people were so innocent. The thought of harming them was cruel and just plain evil. They did not deserve to die. "Someone's coming out of the bushes!"

Goku got into a fighting stance, his eyes narrowed. He wrapped his tail around Dende, made sure he was secure, and dropped him gently into the nearest bush, one that wasn't rustling. He then did the same to Raditz. He then wrapped his tail around his waste and prepared for a full on battle with whoever was coming. Then, a familiar bald figure stepped into the clearing. It was none other than Krillin!

Goku fought back tears as he came face to face with his old friend. "Goku, is that you?" Krillin asked, cautiously.

"Yes, it's me. Why so wary?" Goku asked, smiling warmly. "Dende, you can come out, it's just one of my old friends. For who a second I thought was a member of the Frieza Force." Dende walked out of the bush, carefully carrying Raditz. Goku smiled at the act of kindness. "Thank you for bringing Raditz, Dende!"

"As I said, it's an act of kindness. As you said, you're not like to other invaders," Dende said, causing Goku's eyes to widen. He signaled to Dende not to say that in front of his best friend. But, Krillin had already heard what Dende had said. "Is it something I said?"

"Unfortunately, yes, Dende. I know you didn't mean to hurt me with those words, but I think I may have just lost a friend from that," Goku said, sweat dripping down his face.

Krillin looked absolutely livid. "You've been gone for three years conquering planets in the middle of the nowhere in space?! You think I'm okay with that?!" Krillin snapped, anger in his eyes, his skin was pale and his head seemed to be glowing in the sun. "Do you think I would still want to be your friend after hearing that?!"

"Krillin, I've already lost someone close to me today, and I do not want to lose another," Goku said desperately. Krillin looked confused about Goku's words. He then looked behind him and saw Raditz, a disgusted look overcame his face. "I am exhausted, sad and angry. I just found out that I can do something that I need to be able to tap into in five, no, four days. Do you know how hard that is?"

Silence overcame Krillin, angering Good further. He knew that Krillin didn't want to hurt him, but the thought of being rejected by his closest friend hurt Goku deep down. He shook his head to keep his emotions from spilling out. He sighed sadly, he had already lost enough today, and he did not need to lose more. But, Goku knew that anything could cause his emotions to slip. He felt tears beginning to trickle down his cheeks and tried to clear his head of any happy memories. That only made it worse.

"G - Goku!" Krillin gasped, clearly trying to find the right words to say. Goku shook his head, getting rid of the tears. The look on Krillin's face screamed apology. He hadn't noticed how fragile Goku's emotions were. "I - I'm so sorry, Goku."

"No, Krillin, I'm sorry. I left you for three years with complete strangers and didn't even say goodbye. I then started going off killing innocent people. Wait, this is the first planet I have been told to conquer. I haven't killed anybody. But I still do apologise for all the pain I have caused," Goku said sincerely. "I'm not like the other Saiyans, but it is in my blood to kill. I've already killed somebody today, but I feel no shame."

"Who was it?" Krillin asked curiously.

"You've heard of Frieza right?" Goku asked. Krillin shook his head while Dende just shivered at the sound of his name. "My race was enslaved to do his bidding. There were six Saiyans that had survived when I was recruited to join them. Prince Vegeta, Nappa, Rozumari, Father, Raditz and I. The rest of the Saiyans had been killed when the planet I was born on blew up. As the only survivors of the Saiyan race, Nappa, Vegeta, Rozumari, Raditz and Father all were force to do what Frieza wanted them to do.

Today, however, that ended. It all ended when Frieza ordered the others and myself to be executed. Before we could even attack back, Dodoria, one of Frieza's right hand men killed Raditz. I was flown into a rage. I couldn't control myself, I felt this enormous power growing inside of me. Now I have to learn to control it. But, I don't know how." Krillin was speechless. Goku laughed and sighed. He then turned Super Saiyan, his eyes narrowed. "I just need to learn how to fully control it. Who knows how long that could take?"

"Bulma's here with me, she could think of something!" Krillin said. Goku smiled and laughed. "You go to her, I'll clean Raditz." Goku stiffened at the thought of someone else cleaning his brother. "Don't worry, I'll be gentle."

Goku laughed and nodded. He flew off, still in his Super Saiyan form. Goku followed Bulma's power level. Finally, he found her. She was in a cave. Most likely a hiding place from the Saiyans, maybe even worse, him. Goku frowned and landed beside to entrance. Bulma didn't seem to notice him. Goku smiled, he had missed seeing that face. But right now wasn't the time to think of the past. He still didn't feel right being near her.

"Hey Bulma, long time no see," Goku said.

"G - Goku?! Is that you?!" Bulma gasped. Goku nodded, smiling warmly. "Your hair. What happened to it?"

"Oh, I honestly don't know how the hair color changes. Maybe it's the huge power increase," Goku said.

"Er...Goku, what exactly is that transformation called?" Bulma asked, looked him over.

"Super Saiyan. It's really useful against people who decide to kill your brother," Goku said, powering up and gritting his teeth. Bulma looked shocked and slowly took a step back. Goku noticed her fear and sighed. The power went down to normal. Bulma gently touched Goku's cheek. Goku flinched but didn't lash out. "I'm sorry about that outburst, Bulma. I've just had a mix of emotions recently."

"You've matured," Bulma said. Goku nodded. A sudden crash got Goku's attention. Cursing under his breath, Goku flew to look to the sky. Five ships had landed on the planet. Nappa flew up to Goku, panic in his normally calm eyes. Goku's heart lurched and he nodded. Nappa flew off. Goku landed beside Bulma and paced. "What's wrong?"

"Bulma, get somewhere safe! I'll get Krillin. Just find somewhere, we'll find you again soon, don't worry!" Goku said, he then powered to full power. Bulma stood there, looking at Goku in shock. "GO! I CAN HANDLE THIS!"

Bulma flinched and ran into a system of caves. Goku nodded and looked to the direction that Nappa had flown off to. He then flew off to where Krillin was. He followed his best friend's power level and found him looking up from cleaning Raditz in shock and confusion. Goku looked at how clean his brother was. He only had a tiny speck of blood where he had bled internally. Goku wiped it off Raditz's face and put him in Dende's arms.

"You can fly right?" Goku asked urgently. Dende nodded. "You see that system of caves over there? Take Raditz and stay there. Krillin, follow me."

Goku's friends nodded and did what Goku told them to do. Krillin and Goku flew in silence. Finally, Krillin spoke up. "So how have these years been treating you?"

"It's been boring, Krillin. I mean, no training, I was stuck in a pod for a month while getting here! I tell you, not worth it," Goku said. "How has the Earth been in my absence?"

"We were attacked by a villain. It took us a while, but we managed to defeat him. His name was King Piccolo. I met the guardian of the Earth, Kami. Let's see, what else? I trained with him. A lot of stuff happened. Chi Chi misses you," Krillin said.

"Oh, tell her when you get back to Earth not to worry. That I'm doing this to keep her safe and that I think about her always," Goku said.

"What do you mean? Goku, why can't you say that yourself?" Krillin asked, worry in his eyes. Goku sighed sadly and placed a hand on Krillin's shoulder. Tears glistened in his raven black eyes. "Goku, what do you mean? What do you plan to do?"

"I - I'm going to stay with the Saiyans. Let's be real, the Red Ribbon Army is probably going to go after me from what I did to their forces. I don't want you to get in the way. If you need me, I'll get Bulma to make something for you to call me," Goku said. "But I have to make this decision for the better of you and the planet. Please forgive me."

"B - But Goku, you're my friend. Please, come with me!" Krillin said, tears glistening in his eyes. Goku shook his head and looked down. "It's not the same without you. It's hard to go on without you. I mean, it was harder to beat King Piccolo without you. Before he died, he made sure to have some sort of child. He said that he would get you some day. That he would find you and kill you."

"What?! How did he know about me?!" Goku asked, his eyes wide.

Krillin looked down guiltily. "I told him that there was someone way stronger than me out in space. So he wanted to meet you and... dispose of you," he said.

"What?! Why would you do that?!" Goku gasped. He wasn't angry more shocked. He hadn't expected Krillin to reveal that he was out there somewhere. He had enough to deal with as it was, with Frieza after him and his friends and all. It was kind of confusing to him though as he had been with the Saiyans for three years and he still hadn't learned what the Ginyu Force was. When they arrived, Vegeta was cursing under his breath and pacing. "Is everybody okay? I brought someone from Earth to help us."

"Kakarot, why would you bring an earthling with you?" Vegeta asked, still pacing.

Krillin looked confused as Vegeta called Goku by his Saiyan name. "Trust me, Krillin and I trained for years together, he's strong. You've got to trust me on this."

"Okay, whatever you say, Kakarot, I really don't care," Vegeta said. Rozumari frowned and began a swift pace on their perch. Nappa was sparring with Bardock. Krillin clearly didn't know who these people were. Goku smiled as he watched his friends. He only wished Raditz could have joined them in the fight. "Okay, if Frieza makes a move on any of you, flee immediately. Rozumari and I agreed on that. Kakarot is the only one who can as he is a Super Saiyan. Any objections?" Only silence was heard. "Good, now prepare for the Ginyu Force. I'll talk to Kakarot, Rozumari and the earthling."

The other Saiyans nodded and got back to what they were doing. Vegeta signaled for Goku, Krillin and Rozumari to join him. Krillin looked super confused as he was faced with the three Saiyans. Goku made sure to stay beside his friend. Vegeta looked at Goku, his face saying enough that he didn't think Krillin should be there. Goku looked to Rozumari and she shrugged. Everyone seemed to be having a hard time finding words.

"So...first of all, who is the Ginyu Force?!" Krillin asked, frustration on his face.

"The Ginyu Force is Frieza's elite force. Kakarot, did you tell this moron who Frieza is?" Vegeta asked. Goku nodded. "Good. That's less explaining for me. Kakarot, you will need to listen up as well. This is a serious matter."

"Hey Vegeta," a voice said.

"Hey Ginyu," Vegeta replied, he then turned around in horror. Five men stood in front of them. A purple man with horns led the pack. "No...not them! The Ginyu Force!"

Goku walked up to them and sensed their power levels. They were nothing to laugh about, but if Goku and Vegeta teamed up, they probably would be able to take them all on in a five on two battle. Goku was more concerned about the leader. The other ones would probably be able to defeat wirh one punch. Especially the green one. Vegeta looked amused as soon as he saw the green one.

"Guldo?! What is he doing here?!" Vegeta asked, laughing his head off.

"You'd better watch yourself, Saiyan, I'm a member of the Ginyu Force now!" Guldo replied, visibly shaking. Goku found himself fighting back a laugh. This guy was weak. "Who's the new guy?"

"This is Kakarot and he is a Super Saiyan!" Vegeta replied, smirking. Laughter only broke out between the Ginyu Force. Guldo, once cowering was now laughing as well. Goku felt himself blushing with embarrassment. Krillin looked angry that people would be laughing at his best friend. "Kakarot, go Super Saiyan, show them your progression."

Goku smirked and turned Super Saiyan with ease. The Ginyu Force looked surprised but also delighted. They talked amongst each other about something. The red one laughed and flew off, followed by the leader. Goku turned to face the Ginyu Force and saw that there was Guldo, a man with orange hair, and a blue bug man. Goku glared at them and got into a fighting stance, followed by Krillin, Vegeta and Rozumari.

"Could you all tell me your names? It would be nice to have something to call you," Goku said with a smirk.

"I'm Recoome!" the orange haired one said, striking a pose.

"Burter!" the blue bug man said, also striking a pose.

"Guldo!" Guldo said, also striking a pose.

"TOGETHER WE ARE, THE GINYU FORCE!" the all said at the same time.

"Now who gets to fight the Super Saiyan?" Guldo asked.

"We'll save him for the captain," Burter replied. He then smirked, showing sharp pointed teeth. "I'll take on Vegeta."

"I'll take the girl," Guldo said, Goku swung around to face him. He could tell from his face that Guldo was assuming that Rozumari would not be a challenge because of her gender. Vegeta also seemed to notice that and was clearly fighting back an annoyed snap. Guldo looked around, a confused look on his face as to why everyone was glaring at him. "What?"

"Well, when I'm not in my Super Saiyan form, Rozumari could beat me with her hands tied behind her back," Goku replied. Krillin looked surprised himself at hearing these words. Goku nodded to Krillin in confirmation to what he had just said. "If anything, I could see her going Super Saiyan next. Then followed by Vegeta most likely. And to top it all off, she is Vegeta's sister."

"What does that have to do with anything?" Recoome asked. "If anything, she is probably weaker than Vegeta by a lot."

"FOR YOUR INFORMATION, SHE IS WAY STRONGER ME!" Vegeta shouted, startling everybody. The other Saiyans rushed forward to see what the ruckus was all about. Vegeta turned to their friends and sighed. "Guys, I told you to stay behind."

"Vegeta, Frieza is here! We were just trying to warn you," Nappa said, his eyes narrowed.

"What?! Shit! Get everybody away from him!" Vegeta ordered briskly. Goku nodded and then nodded to Nappa. "And Kakarot!" Goku looked down at the sound of his Saiyan name. "Try not to get yourself killed."

"I won't!" Goku laughed, a friendly expression on his face. Vegeta sighed and Goku flew off, his eyes narrowed with concentration. "Nappa, if Frieza decides to attack you, run. I'll hold him off as long as possible."

"Got it, don't get yourself killed," Nappa said, a serious look in his eyes.

"I'll try not to. I'll do anything to make sure my friends are safe. If I found out you had died when I was facing Frieza. I would never forgive myself. So please, Nappa, run if Frieza attacks us. I don't want to lose another friend today," Goku said, he shook his head, this was no time to think of such things. Nappa seemed to understand and he nodded in agreement with Goku's plan. "But please, Nappa, get me some backup!"

Nappa laughed and nodded. Goku smiled and they flew in silence. They went around the cave system that Bulma and Dende were hiding in. Goku turned back to his base form so he didn't attract anyone. Nappa smiled at him and flew into the cave system. Goku's heart lurched. How had Frieza found them so soon? Goku quickly followed Nappa, getting more desperate by the minute. He heard the soothing noises and rushed into a cranny.

Bulma was in there with Dende. They both screamed as soon as he entered. Goku stepped into the light and they let out short sighs of relief. Goku signaled to them to follow him. They looked a little nervous as soon as they saw Nappa. The other Saiyan didn't say anything, he just watched them in silence as they walked out of their shelter into the light. Nappa and Goku nodded to each other and quietly led them away.

A sudden crackle of rocks made them all jump. Goku looked around the corner and saw Frieza patrolling the area. He signaled for Nappa to go in the other direction. His best friend nodded and walked in the other direction with Bulma and Dende. A sudden energy blast made them all jump. Frieza was probably getting irritated with them sneaking around. Goku and the others held their breath.

"Found you!" a voice said from above. Goku and the others looked up in horror. Goku glared at Frieza and got into his fighting stance. He was worried though that he wouldn't be enough. Nappa looked angry but equally horrified. Goku turned Super Saiyan and turned to Nappa. "Oh, don't think about fleeing, I just got you all together again. It would be terrible for you to depart with each other now."

Before anyone could say anything, Frieza shot Nappa through the chest with a tiny blast of red energy. "Nappa!" Goku gasped, getting out of his Super Saiyan form. He did not want to lose another friend, not today. Nappa was gasping for breath, his eyes glazing quickly. Pain was visible and blood trickled from his chest. Goku turned on Frieza, his eyes narrowed with anger. Bulma looked shocked to see him like this. "You monster! He didn't have any time to defend himself. I told him I would protect him, I told him."

Frieza laughed gleefully at the sight of Goku's dismay. "K - Kakarot," a weak voice said. Goku looked down at and saw Nappa. A weak cough escaped his lips and blood trickled from his lips. Goku fought back horror as he saw the pain his best friend was in. "Don't hold back. De - Destroy him. Don't let your anger blind you. Just...kill him. For me...for Raditz."

Then a tiny sigh escaped Nappa's lips and he fell still. Dende looked terrified. Goku was twitching with anger and hatred. He turned Super Saiyan and jumped at Frieza. Shock showed on Frieza's face but it went away, and he easily slapped Goku down. The young Saiyan gasped in pain and fell to the ground with a mighty thud. Frieza flew over him and first multiple energy blasts down at him. Goku cried out in pain and desperation.

He felt warm wet blood all around him. Goku glared up at Frieza and tried to get up. Panic filled Goku's friend's faces as they saw the amount of wounds he had received. His Saiyan armor was ruined, full of energy blast holes. Goku struggled for breath and shakily stood. Frieza laughed and fired another energy blast. This one hit Goku's lung. His eyes widened with pain and horror as he felt it pop.

He then turned to his friends and said, "Go...get help!"

They nodded and Dende flew off quickly, holding Bulma. Goku watched as they exited his line of vision. Goku felt blood bubbling at his lips. He coughed and gasped at the pain. Frieza landed beside Goku and stomped on the wound where his lung had popped. Goku screamed in agony and struggled to breathe even more. Just when he thought it was over, Frieza was blown off him. Goku blearily looked up and saw Vegeta.

Goku smiled weakly at him. Dende walked up to Goku and gently touched the air over his battered chest. Goku felt the pressure of trying to breathe go away. He gasped and touched his body. There were no more wounds to speak of. Goku tried to think of words to thank Dende, but the young Namekian shook his head and gently touched Goku's shoulder. Goku nodded and stood up, he flew up to Vegeta and they stood back to back.

"Welcome back, champ," Vegeta said, a teasing note in his voice. Goku laughed and playfully nudged Vegeta. "I also brought someone else."

"NO ONE MESSES WITH MY FRIENDS AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!" a familiar voice shouted, an energy blast was fired, sending Frieza flying. Goku laughed and gently nudged Goku. "That was for Goku."

Goku smiled and nodded. The group nodded and they fled quickly. Goku had never been so panicked in all of his life. They were fighting against time. They would need to hurry if they were to make it off the planet without Frieza following them. Finally, they made it to their friends. The remaining Saiyans didn't waste any time. Goku looked around once he got on the ship and saw the bodies of the members of the Ginyu Force.

Goku turned around and nearly bumped into Rozumari. She blushed and gently hissed him. Goku's eyes stretched wide, but he felt oddly comforted. He felt the love behind it and smiled. The two separated and broke apart, laughing.

(Bulma POV)

Bulma watched Goku and the female Saiyan. What would Chi Chi think when she heard about this. Goku looked so happy with her that it didn't seem right to try to stop them. In fact, she was happy to see them like that. Krillin walked up to Bulma and sighed. She looked down at her best friend in confusion.

"What is it, Krillin?" Bulma asked, concerned.

"Goku said that he would be staying with the Saiyans. He seemed pretty serious about it," Krillin replied.

"What?! Why?" Bulma gasped, tears in her eyes. It didn't feel the same without their carefree friend around.

"He wanted a way for us to stay in contact with him. If you're okay with making it that is," Krillin said.

"Of course, I'll start on it right away. But what should the design be?' Bulma replied.
