Chapter 01

Welcome Home Fields

Rosewood, Pennsylvania. A small town where everyone knew everyone and news spread like wildfire.

The Fields had just moved back to town and everyone knew about their arrival, the information got around so quickly that their neighbors had been bearing gifts ever since their truck pulled into the driveway.

"Basket #5!" Wayne Fields calls out before dropping the basket down by the other 4 welcoming gifts they received in the last hour.

Pam Fields chuckled and Emily Fields shook her head and smiled as she cut open a moving box labeled 'TUPPERWARE'.

"The neighbors are so generous, see this is why I love it here." Pam said as she bent over to help Emily unload the boxes.

Emily's mom, Pam was the reason why they moved back to Rosewood. Emily's dad, Wayne is in the army so that means they move from place to place to be able to keep up with his job. So when he got the call from work that he would have to move again after only being in Texas for one year was a disappointment to everyone.

Pam had just made some friends who were also military wives, like she was, that she could bond and connect with. While, Emily had just got settled into her new school, it wasn't ideal and she only had a couple of friends down in Texas but she wasn't complaining at all.

However, the news of moving wasn't so bad when Wayne also informed them that they had options, which quickly sparked Emily and Pam's attention. They never got to choose where they wanted to move it was always told to them.

"Columbus, Ohio, St. Louis, Missouri, Tulsa, Oklahoma or Rosewood, Pennsylvania" Wayne read the list of options off to his wife and daughter.

Emily didn't mind where they went as long as their family was together but Pam was high up in the sky when she blurted out her request which Wayne wasn't surprised about at all, and neither was the young Fields girl.

Rosewood, Pennsylvania was where Emily was born and grew up for a bit as a child. Emily knew about her childhood. She knew, but she couldn't really remember anything about her time there. Her memories of the small town came from the million stories and scrapbooks her parents fed her.

Her mothers freshly polished fingernails grazed across a picture in the heavy notebook filled with pictures of herself as a little girl.

Emily followed her mothers finger until it came to a stop, hovering over a girl with a low side ponytail that looked exactly like her but smaller.

"This is you." Pam said smiling down at the picture. "You used to beg me to put your hair in a ponytail to the side because that's how one of your barbie dolls came, you adored the hairstyle."

As Pam reminisced and went on Emily scanned the rest of the page for other pictures of herself. At the bottom of the page one picture caught her eye. It was her again with the same hairstyle but she wasn't alone, she was surrounded by 5 other girls. They all looked so happy as they sat around a crappy lemonade stand with a sign that said 'lemunaid 4 sail' . Emily silently laughed to herself about the spelling and directed her mother to the picture hoping to get more information on who the other girls in the picture were.

Unfortunately, she didn't get much luck. As soon as she pointed the picture out to her mom the sweet smile on her mothers face decayed turning into a disgusted frown and her lively face turned pale, her stare was blank. She didn't even answer her curious 12 year old daughter's question, she just closed the book and told Emily it was time for bed.

Emily had been so confused that night that she couldn't even sleep. All she could think about was the picture and those 5 other girls.

Why wouldn't my mom tell me about those girls in the picture? Why couldn't I remember them? Who were they?

It wasn't long until all the boxes were unpacked and they received a few more welcoming gifts from the 'generous' neighbors.

Emily had been currently in her room trying to figuring out how she wanted to decorate it. She was distracted when her phone rang saying that one of her bestfriends from Texas, Evan, wanted to facetime.

"How are y'all liking it over in the east?" The boys voice filled the room as he spoke.

"It's okay, kind of quiet. What about you and Destiny, how are you guys holding up without me?" Emily playfully asked.

A girl with fire red hair and piercing green eyes popped into the camera, with a huge smile on her face at the sound of her name. "We miss you, Emmy." Her bottom lip poked out as she made whining baby noises which immediately caused Emily to chuckle and the curly head boy to roll his eyes.

Destiny and Evan were the first friends Emily made in Texas. They met during swim tryouts. Destiny had realized Emily was new and dragged Evan along so she could say hi to the tall brunette. Ever since that day the three of them had been inseparable.

She talked for hours with her friends until she started to yawn.

"Someone is sleepy." Destiny smirked and Evan smiled.

"We will let you get some rest." Evan said but was quickly interrupted with a scoff from the fiesty redhead.

"I wasn't done talking to her." Destiny stated. Destiny was always the clingy one out of her two friends but she didn't mind, she actually really liked the attention.

The two argued for a bit more before finally deciding that they would give Emily some rest and call her tomorrow, which Emily also agreed to.

After saying their 'goodbyes' Emily had realized the sun went down and that she had school early in the morning. So she got comfortable in her freshly made bed deciding to call it a night and drift off into a deep peaceful sleep. Not realizing that secrets, lies and forgotten memories were waiting for her right outside of her house.
