Chapter 1

Cody was riding slow headed back to Sweetwater crossing the Nebraska state line. He had enjoyed his time alone but anxiously waited for the company of his family and friends. He sat back in his saddle daydreaming about being a wild man which he was far from. And ladies. Mostly ladies. He still had a three day ride to get home so he let his imagination carry him away for most of the day. He leisurely rode thinking to himself while watching the clouds roll across the big sky country. He sat up fast taking notice of a dust trail off in the far distance.

His curiosity got the best of him so he turned his horse in the direction of the dust. He got closer to see two wagons. Not seeing anyone on horseback, he figured it was a single family looking to start a new beginning out west. Intrigued at this point, he rode on over to introduce himself. The wagons were covered. He could not tell what was inside but that did not concern him anyway. He made his way to the lead wagon and was pleasantly surprised to find not one, but two, dark haired women sitting on top of the buckboard.

He presented them with a dazzling smile and a grand introduction.

"Good day! I'm William F Cody at your service." He says with a whopping smile on his face. The women looked at each other. They smiledand waved.

"What's y'all names?

"My name is Jasmine and this is my sister Desiree."

"That'sthe most beautiful names that my ears haveever heard." Cody says making the girls smile.

"Wherey'all headed to?" Cody says looking back to see an old man and woman sitting in the second wagon.

"We're going to Sweetwater." Desiree informs him with her thick foreign accent.

Cody's mouth fell open. His mind explodes, sending fireworks off in his head. His heart is beating so fast that his eyes blare open.

Oh my Lord. This my luck day, he thinks. He snaps out of his daze.

"You don't say." He says trying to play it cool while trying to hide his excitement.

"It just so happens that I, myself, reside in Sweetwater." He says so proudly like it's a great place to be.

"That is amazing." Jasmine says looking into Cody's naive blue eyes."Would it be too much trouble for you to escort us the rest of the way." She asked.

"Whyno ma'am, not at all it. It would be my pleasure to protect you fromthe perils and dangers of the wild west."

Both girls smile as Cody takes his hat off and runs his hand through his hair. Cody thinks to himself that he has this in the bag. Just wait until the boys see him ride into the station yard with these two gorgeous creatures by his side. He can't help but smile as he thinks about it.

"Where are y'all from Miss Desiree?"

"Wehave traveled here from the Middle East, Mr. Cody." She says as Cody almost falls out of the saddle

"How far is that from here?" He asked.

"It's been an eight month journey to get here." Jasmine informs him. Cody looks back at the older couple.

"That's our father and mother. We have heard many stories about the cowboys and the wild west in our home land."

"Wellthere are few great cowboys like myself." He says.

Cody spends the next three daysfilling their heads with tales of gun fights andwild outlaws.
