Chapter 1 (of goldfish and tweens)

Hola! This story is in Azlyn's Point of view throughout the whole entire story. Warning: I originally wrote this story in multiple notebooks and the chapters vary in size,

I only own my characters. Anything from the world of Rick Riordan, or the Greeks is not owned by me. I do however own a lot of the main characters and the plot.

It was the end of may,and I was at the outdoor swimming pool. I lived in Manhattan, New York so the pool was a rather large size.

Not that I was swimming in it.

"This place is so cool," I whispered to my friend Dan. He nodded. The place was awesome, It had two diving boards, a lazy river, and water slides. You may be thinking "You idiot why are you not swimming in it then?"

Well,I have two reasons. 1) I couldn't afford only let us in the doors because we were still in our clothes so they knew we wouldn't jump in the pool. Anyways, there were lifeguards . 2) Dan, he couldn't swim. He had some type of bone weakening thing so his legs were too weak to move. He was put in a wheelchair at a young age. Dan, he was my only friend really so even if we could afford it I wouldn't go because I don't want to do it by myself. I am not very liked by my peers. What with my ADHD, dyslexia, and a terrible temper who would?

Anyways here's a description of Dan: He is African/American, Black hair that was shaved closely to his scalp, and pale blue eyes. He always wears this really cool crocheted blanket over his legs that he says was made in honor of his passed grandfather. It had all kinds of forestry brown and greens.

A few hours later, the sun seemed to have checked out and I figured we needed to head home. Dan said he lived a couple blocks from my house (he never let me come over for some reason) so we always walked home together.

"I think it's about time we headed home," I said. Dan obliged, and we left the swimming pool.

We only had to walk(and wheel) a little while before we were at our little shortcut. It was an alleyway that led straight to my neighborhood. Whenever we went to the swimming pool we always took this shortcut.

Little did we know… this time would be a little more interesting.

We entered the alleyway and started walking. Yes, two tweens walking through an alleyway alone,at night is obviously not the smartest idea. You see that was the issue. I'm not smart.

Dan started to look tired from wheeling his wheelchair through the gravel.

"Want me to push you?" He thanked me and we continued down the dark alleyway.

"So are you excited for summer"? Dan asked me.

"Yeah! Are you doing anything exciting? I still haven't seen your place yet."

Dan bleated nervously. One of the many odd things that he does.

"It's not that fancy. Just a normal house..." he trailed off. Looking into the darkness, like he saw something.

"Holy Hephaestus," he muttered. Who the heck is Hepa-Hepastacks?

"What?" I asked, confused. He pointed to something, with a shaky hand. I followed where it was pointing to with my eyes and was amazed by what I saw.

There, in the middle of a Manhattan Alleyway, was a goldfish in a little glass bowl. On Top of an old nightstand.

Now, there were many things wrong with this situation. First of all, why is there a goldfish there to begin with? And second, why did Dan look about ready to pee his pants because of this goldfish? What was it gonna do, turn us into salmon?

I know Dan suffers from Anxiety so he might have his reasons, but a goldfish?

Meanwhile Dan was muttering things like "Camp," "Poseidon," and "Cans,".

'Okay, this is too much for me,' I thought. Dan was sitting there, chewing on the arms of his chair because a strange goldfish is in the Alleyway. It was all too confusing, (it doesn't take much to confuse me) so I did what I always do when I am confused (and slightly frightened). Run.

How was it? Sorry if I offended anyone somehow with the "Anxiety" part. I myself have social Anxiety and a few characters will have different types of it too (only two so far including Dan). I changed it A LOT from what I had originally, it was terrible.

Well, that's a rap on the first chapter of Azlyn Jones: Lost In The Woods. I hope I did a decent job,

Thank you XD
