The shattered moon's light gently illuminated Linda's room as she layed in her bed. She faces the window while thinking about nothing.
"ah..." A yawn escapes from her lips. She closes her eyes, ready to enjoy a goodnight's rest but suddenly her door creeks open.
"Lin." A familiar voice calls out into the dim room.
"What is it Lavender?" Linda doesn't rise from her spot, she's too comfortable.
Though Linda's face doesnt falter, internally she's surprised to see her eldest sister. It had been about five months since Lavender came to visit. Obviously she looked the same; tall and even taller with those knee high boots, slim body, small chest, long baby blue hair, side swept bangs, porcelain skin, brown almost black piercing eyes. Lavender was the spitting image of Erika Moonbeam, their mother.
"Do you have a death wish?" Lavender inquires with a sharp edge to her voice.
"Close the door." Linda orders as she sits up, Lavender complies and flicks the light switch. The room glistens with a yellow ting neither of them care for.
"Now. I'll ask again, do you have a death wish Linda?" Lavender repeats as she sits at the desk not too far from Linda's bed.
"No." Linda shakes her head. Lavender in turn frowns at her.
"I want more to my life." Linda confesses, as her eyes wander away from her sister's cold gaze.
"You're the heir to the company! What else could you possibly want!?" Lavender says with a raised voice. The sudden shift in her tone makes Linda wince. She digs a hand into the sheets trying to keep herself together.
"I want to save people." Linda starts. "I can't help people if I choose to sit behind a desk all day filing paper work."
Lavender sighs. "I chose the quiet married life, Lana chose to be a huntress, Markus became mother's right hand, Lilia is a teacher, Raina is making her way up the company. At the end of the line is YOU, little Linda, the heiress to the family company. You know what's set in stone for you, don't fight it."
"I will fight." Linda's eyebrows furrow. This feeling of anger
washes over her like a heavy tide as she finally meets her sister's intense stare.
"Lana is probably dead in some abandoned city. Linda listen-"
"She's not dead! Stop saying that!" Linda interrupts.
"LISTEN." Lavender says with a yell. Linda hushes and can't help but obey. Her semblance was quite the tool.
"Lin, I don't want to lose you. I know since you were able to talk you've wanted to be a huntress but that's not the role for you. Yes you're set to go to Egret Academy in a week but mother and father will only allow this charade for so long. Then you'll be brought back home and sent to business school." Lavender was speaking with her usual calm and collected voice now.
"I...I know but I'll-"
"When the time comes don't fight them on it. Please, for me at least Lin." Lavender pleaded. Linda muttered a quick okay before gesturing to the door.
"I'll leave you be for now..." Lavender made her way to the door with a soft huff. "Remember, I'm always here for you Linda."
"I know..."
