What… defines happiness? Is it having everything I could ever want? Or is it family that means happiness? I thought material items would bring me that joy I had before things changed, which it did in the beginning, but I began to feel… unhappy. I started to crave something, but what was that something?
For the longest time, I wasn't sure. I had pretty much anything and everything I could ever want, with more than I knew what to do with. People came and went, mostly because of the money, which I thought was just because that was how life was. It was honestly to be expected. I won a lot of money and people thought I would happily give them some when they showed back up out of nowhere. And that was the case in the beginning!
God, I was so happy to have a huge circle of friends. It was like I had things to do everyday. It was so fun. But after a while, I began to realize why they showed back up. It was just so they could mooch off me for money. I should have seen it coming but when you're alone as often as I am, you just don't think like that. When I finally figured out they were that way, you best believe that I cut ties. I was not going to be used for my money… The only way that would happen is if it was on my terms. You want easy money? Fine, but you better offer something in return.
When I kicked those people out, I began to realize just how lonely I really was. That loneliness made me realize that I was also unhappy. I was not going to stay that way. I don't like being unhappy, so today is the day that changes!
I'm lonely… There's no denying that. No more. Today, I will do whatever it takes to find the perfect one. I had considered just finding a random girl and paying her to be around but… I realized that's not for me. No, I want a pokémon. A lot of them. They're so beautiful, majestic, elegant… God, I want one so bad. Today, that becomes a thing. I will not come home until I have a pokémon of my own! I swear she will be the perfect one for me. She will see the life I can offer her.
All she has to do is say yes.
With a deep sigh, the notebook was closed. It was a standard black spiral notebook with a name and description on one line: Kyle's Personal Thoughts. Below that was another line giving his address that also said a hefty reward would be given if it was ever found, should he lose it for some reason. Kyle didn't think he would ever lose it, but it would have been better to be safe than sorry.
Growing up, Kyle never really had much. He was grateful for the things he did have, but he never thought about a journal. It had crossed his mind when he was younger so he had somewhere personal to vent where nobody would know but he just never got to it. The more he grew up, the more he wanted to get one. Eventually he did and it was, by far, one of the best ideas ever. For around two months, Kyle had been leaving journals every couple days, venting about anything while also bragging about the good. It was a great way to get emotions out.
After writing how lonely he was so many times, Kyle decided it was time to change that. Kyle had a bit of a habit of reading older journal entries to see how he had been progressing in life. When he started to figure out he was doing the opposite, writing more negative than positive, he knew he was doing something wrong. Kyle never settled for that, especially when he had the tools to change. Now, it was time.
Loneliness was one of his problems. Money does things to people. After winning the top prize at the Lilycove Department Store, Kyle was virtually set for life. Every month, a contest was held where people could purchase a ticket and enter a contest for an ungodly sum of money. It wasn't as much as the Hoenn lottery but it was pretty close. When he won, people flooded to him. He loved being popular at first, but then he learned why he was suddenly noticed. Kyle didn't want friends for that reason so he got rid of them and kept the real friends who didn't change when he got his payout. He went from hundreds of friends to enough to count on two hands. He had no pokémon or anything, so he was alone.
Many times Kyle had considered a pokémon but he wasn't sure how he would do owning one. He knew he really wanted to but… Kyle always decided not to. It wasn't because he couldn't take care of one, in fact the exact opposite. He knew he would absolutely baby and pamper one, especially now that he had money to do so. He had another… problem that worried him.
Kyle was… very into pokémon. He did not hide his attraction to them. Pokephilia was not as taboo as it once was. When one person comes out as someone into that, another grows confident enough to as well. Then another, and another, and another. It becomes a huge cycle of coming out. Now it was very common for people who owned pokémon to at least accept those into pokémon. Marriage wasn't a thing yet but it wasn't illegal by any means to date or have sex with a pokémon. Marriage was something that would eventually happen.
Being into pokémon wasn't his problem. You'd be more surprised to find a pokémon who didn't want to do that kind of thing with a human. What was the problem was that he was borderline obsessed with them. He loved pokémon beyond words. He never entirely understood why he was but he just knew he was. It worried him he would come off way too strong and scare the pokémon he liked, which then could mean he would lose a potential friend. That was not something he wanted, so he just never adopted one just to avoid that possibility.
Until today. Hopefully.
Every couple weeks, there was a rather large pokémon adopt-a-thon held in his town. He didn't know exactly how big it was but he knew there would be a few pokémon there looking for homes. Lilycove was a large town so he was worried a bit about there not being enough pokémon to go around. If that was the case though, he would just wait until the next one. If anything, he would at least have got to encounter one or two and been happy.
With the idea set in stone about him going, Kyle was presented with a new problem: what Pokémon would be the right one for him? Ever since he first considered adoption, Kyle began to think about things he liked. He wasn't super set on looks but he did have a lot of… "traits" he wanted. When he began going over those traits, he realized something about them. He was looking for a friend, most definitely, but he was also wanting more. That more is what he was worried would keep him from adopting. However, if they would at least give him a chance, he would definitely make it worth their while. He knew that for certain.
In the end, Kyle had his mind set. Today was the day it would all change. He was going to take the first step in changing his life, once again. His first change came with the money. The next step was finding out where this thing was being held. He was at his computer, looking up everything regarding it. It didn't take him any time at all to find what he was looking for.
Apparently the event had already started that morning. He wanted to be one of the first there to have better odds at a pokémon but had unfortunately slept in because of him tidying up his massive house for the pokémon he'd hopefully be bringing into his life. Exhaustion took him over and made him miss his alarm. He was going to get up early to do the last minute research but that didn't go as planned… at all.
Nothing ever did.
Since he more than likely missed the best pokémon, Kyle decided there was no massive rush to get there. The website said that it lasted the rest of the weekend so that gave him plenty of time. Adoptions were from seven in the morning until six at night. Sometimes people were allowed to stay longer but that was only if they had special access. How they got that, he wasn't entirely sure. It wasn't explicitly stated what one had to do to get that access but he didn't really care. He was just going for one pokémon, maybe two and that was it.
Kyle read on and knew exactly where it was going to be held. A large convention building had been built some years ago. It was down the street from where the major Comicon was hosted for Hoenn. Since Lilycove was the biggest city in Hoenn, it only made sense for it to be held in a place like that. Obviously other conventions were held there but Kyle never went to them. None interested him, not like this. Thankfully, it wasn't too far of a walk for him.
"Or maybe I should call a driver… I don't really want to smell all sweaty when I get there…" Kyle thought out loud. First impressions were a big thing, especially for a pokémon. If he somehow found the perfect pokémon for him and she turned him down because he smelled nasty from all the sweat, he didn't know what he'd do. He worried she'd make the assumption his living environment was nasty and unclean and he didn't want that. So with that in mind, it was decided pretty easily that he'd call and have someone drive him there. Then, if she would want, they could walk home or he'd call another driver if she didn't want to walk. Whatever she'd want. He didn't care.
With directions and everything else good to go, all that was left to do was get ready. He called ahead and set up a driver. They told him the general things like when to expect his driver to be there and the type of car they drove. After that was set up, he got up from his chair and walked into his closet. It was a massive walk-in closet that was more empty than anything. All around him was space for clothes to be hung but less than a quarter of one side had shirts hanging. Everything else was entirely empty, save for the hangers he bought to make it look somewhat filled. "God I need to do some clothes shopping…"
Kyle wasn't sure how he was supposed to dress for this occasion. He liked dressing casually instead of fancy, not like all these other rich people. "Guess I shouldn't really put a fake look on…" he continued mumbling. After grabbing a plain-colored shirt, he took his previous one off then put that new one on. He did the same with a pair of pants then exited the closet.
Walking across his massive bedroom, Kyle entered his bathroom. It had both a shower and one of those bathtubs that had the jets in it - the ones that are supposed to help with relaxing or whatever. He'd never used them as he preferred showers but it was definitely nice to have. Across from the two was the counter. A huge mirror overlooked the marble countertop. Stepping towards the counter and mirror, Kyle took a good look at himself.
Kyle had long, shaggy, blond hair that came down to his shoulders. He used to keep it short but decided to do something new and he quite liked this look on him. However, he quickly learned of a new love: hats. After one time wearing a hat, Kyle knew it was his thing. He wore one just because he didn't feel like showering and doing his hair so he wrote a hat instead. Since then, he'd always worn one. The one he called his and felt incomplete without was a plain black one that had his favorite bands name on it.
Kyle quickly brushed his teeth then splashed his face with water. He was feeling kind of nervous but knew that was just because of the change his life was about to experience. The cool feeling of the water calmed him almost immediately. He took a deep breath and took one last look in the mirror. Looking himself in his bright, blue eyes, Kyle felt a wave of confidence. He had this.
A buzz came from his pocket. Pulling out his cell phone, Kyle saw a message saying his driver would be there in less than two minutes. He pocketed his phone once more and left the bathroom after shutting the light off. Leaving his bedroom, Kyle walked down the hall and past a bunch of doors that led to other bedrooms then came to a staircase. He quickly ran down them and headed forward. He eventually came to his kitchen.
It was a really big kitchen that had anything and everything one would need. Cabinets, more than he would ever use on his own, lined the top of the walls just above his counter. A couple feet from the counter was another island counter. A sink sat inside, giving the other larger one a lot of workspace, should someone ever decide to cook a large meal. Kyle never did just because he was the only one here, but if he ever needed to, that space was there and ready.
Walking through the kitchen, Kyle was now in his living room. For the most part, it was pretty empty. A rug sat in the middle of the room with a large, glass coffee table sitting right on top. A few couches surrounded the table. Coasters lined the table, should anyone ever set drinks on it. Kyle hated seeing rings of water on his table so when he had friends who constantly hung out at his house, he bought them. Now… they were more for decoration than anything. However, should all that change, he was definitely ready.
Kyle sat on one of the couches and pulled his shoes out from beneath the table. He honestly never really cared about putting his shoes up anywhere in particular. If he lost them, he'd just spend extra time looking for them. It was the price of being lazy, but that was just how he was. Just after getting his shoes on, he stood up and walked to the front door a few steps away. He grabbed the house keys from the key rack and stepped outside. After arming the security system and turning around, Kyle saw a vehicle matching the given description pull into his driveway.
Wasting no time, Kyle walked to the car and got into the back. The driver was a guy who looked to be in his thirties or forties. "Hey bud, where to?" he asked in a deep voice as he turned around and gave a smile.
"You know that pokémon thing going on today?" Kyle asked.
"I know exactly where ya are talking about. Good to go?"
"Yep," Kyle answered.
The guy nodded to him and turned back around. Moments later, they were off. "If there's anything ya wanna listen to, go right ahead and let me know. I don't mind at all!"
"Thanks, I'm good," Kyle told him. Again he nodded. "I just want to let you know I'm not entirely certain about needing a ride back or not. I might not, depending on how this all goes. Could I make you an offer?"
"What's up, bud?" he asked curiously. "What kind of offer?"
"I plan on being there for a few hours. If I come out with a pokémon, I'd like to let them decide if we walk home or not. If they don't want to, obviously I'll need a ride home," Kyle began explaining to the guy. Even though he was focused on the road, Kyle did see him peek back through his rearview mirror occasionally to show he was listening. "I'd like to have you as my driver for those couple hours. I will gladly pay in advance for whatever you would have made, and throw in a tip as well. All I'd need from you is to be ready if I do need a ride back."
"So… ya want me to just sit around and wait? And you may or may not need me at the end of it?" he asked. Kyle nodded.
"Yep. As said, I'll pay however much in advance for those few hours you would have been driving," he answered him. The guy stayed quiet for a few minutes, making Kyle think he didn't want to. Eventually he spoke up.
"Are you sure you want to do that? I don't really want ya out of money if ya don't end up needing me," he told Kyle. Kyle smiled and chuckled.
"I'm completely sure. Could be an easy day for you. Consider it my treat."
"Well… I mean, if you're sure. We can talk about a payment later on, bud. When we get there. Sound good?" the guy asked.
"Sounds good to me," Kyle smiled again. Kyle barely saw a smile through the mirror. The rest of the ride there was relatively quiet. The two had made small talk but nothing of importance. The guy apparently had a kid and this was just a side thing to make some extra money for her. Kyle initially felt he was trying to be extra nice for a tip but, the longer the conversations went on, the more he started to think not. He was just a genuinely nice person. Kyle, being the person he was, wanted to show his appreciation for the guy taking his offer. How and when, he had no idea. Some day, though.
"Name is Mac, bud," he told Kyle.
"Kyle," he said back.
"Well it's nice to meet ya. We should be there soon. If ya need anything, let me know, bud," Mac told him. Kyle nodded and looked out the window. Coming slowly into view was their destination. The closer they got, the more Kyle realized how huge the place was. From the outside, you would have expected it to be a hotel. It had to have been dozens of stories high. The front entrance had several sets of sliding doors as people and pokémon all came and went. "Mind if I drop ya off out front? This traffic is gonna be horrid."
"Not at all. Mind if we talk about payment?" Mac nodded to Kyle. The two talked for a few minutes as they waited in line to get there. The event must have been bigger than expected because there were several times where they sat still and waited. Eventually they got to where Kyle could be let out. "...And that's an average in that amount of time?"
"Around, yes. Sometimes more, sometimes less."
"I'll pay double that. How's that?" Kyle offered. Mac was majorly taken aback by that.
"What? Bud, I don't know if I could do that. That's an awful lot for something you may not even need!" he explained to Kyle. Kyle laughed at him as he pulled out his wallet then handed his card to him.
"It's nothing. I'm in a very hopeful mood right now and it's exciting me. I would love to spread that joy to someone else! And you're here so…" Kyle spoke with the brightest smile. Seeing people like Mac so shocked like he was made Kyle's day. People never knew how to react.
"Bud… Mind if I hug you? That really makes me happy," Mac said with his own smile. Kyle laughed and the two got out. Only now did Kyle realize how big this guy was. He towered over Kyle and had muscles in his arms bigger than his head. Tattoos of flames covered both his arms and slightly poked through the top of his polo shirt. Truthfully, he almost frightened him. However, Kyle very quickly realized Mac was nothing but a giant teddy bear. He gently wrapped his arms around Kyle as he tried to do the same back.
"I super appreciate this. It's all going towards my little girl," Mac told Kyle as he let him go. It was amazing to watch him fit in this tiny car.
"Birthday coming up?"
"Nah. She wants a pokémon too but I don't have the money for one. I've been saving and working hard to get her one some day. This helps a lot," Mac explained. Hearing that made Kyle want to go in there and adopt one for him but he had his own to look for. Hopefully Mac would have his goal soon because that was a super sweet thing to do.
"Well that is super nice of you. Hopefully it works out and you get her one she loves!" Kyle said. Mac turned and handed Kyle his card back where he put it back in his wallet. He then put his wallet in his back pocket.
"Mind if I give you my number so you can contact me directly when this is done?" Mac asked. Kyle nodded, having no problem with it. "Aight. Good luck finding your pokémon, bud. Just holler whenever!"
"Will do!" With that, Kyle and Mac went their separate ways. He watched Mac follow the tail of cars out before driving off. Kyle went in the opposite direction, heading directly into the building before him. Everything he had read and expected was way off. He expected to see maybe a hundred pokémon, max. He was very wrong.
Upon first entering, he was greeted with a large desk. There were several lines to the front, all of which had employees. Some were pokémon, some human. Off to both sides of the desk was a second set of tall, glass doors. After finding his way into one of the lines, Kyle peeked through the doors. He couldn't count how many people and pokémon there were. Towards the back he saw a set of stairs. Kyle had no idea what they led to.
It took several minutes for Kyle to finally get to the front. The one helping him was a lucario. "Hi! Here to adopt?"
"Hoping so," Kyle said. He was still in shock with how many pokémon there were. "Uhh… Sorry, I need to ask. How many pokémon are here?"
"As of this morning, we had around… Half a thousand?" the pokémon answered. You don't see them all there. Some are upstairs in their rooms. However, all pokémon are looking for all types of homes! So, could I get your name?"
"Oh. Kyle. Do you need my last name?"
"Nope, not until you actually adopt," she answered. She had a marker in her paw and was scribbling on something until she passed it over to him. "Here you go! It's your name tag. Just put it wherever it can be read." Kyle nodded and put the sticker on his shirt. "Before you head in, would you be interested in donating?"
"Donating? To what?" Kyle asked. If there was ever a thing Kyle would donate to, it would be something pokémon related.
"So Helping Hand Adoption is entirely donation ran. Every donation goes towards keeping this building up and running as well as getting pokémon off the streets and into a safe environment," the lucario explained to him. "The Pokémon League here in Hoenn supported us for the first year, and we have been running off the support of everyone here since then. Of course those who do support get extra benefits that non-supporters get."
"Really? Like what?" Kyle asked curiously. The pokémon saw he was curious and that made it happy.
"They're allowed to stay longer past normal hours. Depending on how much you support, you're even allowed to stay the night here with us. Your name is also added to the wall inside that lists everyone who has supported us every month, along with how much," the pokémon told him. "You get added to a list of people who can request notification if a certain pokémon is up for adoption that you want."
"So like if I wanted something like an eevee and one came in, I'd be notified about it?" Kyle asked for clarification. The lucario nodded quickly.
"Yep! You can be as specific as you want. Gender, age, even if you just want to take care of a sick pokémon. We will find you the perfect pokémon," it told him. To Kyle, that sounded absolutely perfect. "If you aren't entirely sure today, you can always donate to us online where everything is automatically done. All benefits are universal so you would get the same stuff if you went to a future location. That also goes for any future locations we open once we have the funds!"
"I'll have to definitely check out everything online if that is okay," Kyle told the pokémon. "I really like pokémon and love to help so you'll probably see a bit of me. How often are these held?"
"Every other week! Gives the pokémon a little time to cool off while we help new ones."
"And they last a week?" Again the lucario nodded. "Awesome. Too bad I caught this on the last two days. Oh well…"
"We're always open for supporters, by the way! So on our off week, you're more than welcome to come and hang out. You just can't adopt. I knew I forgot something…" the pokémon grumbled. After a huff, that cheery smile returned. "The pokémon always love the attention. Anyways, that's about it. Just head on through those doors over there. Have fun and good luck!"
"Thanks! I definitely will!" Kyle said as he waved off the lucario who went to helping the next person. Walking towards the doors, Kyle took a deep breath. He heard the faint sound of music coming through. It was very overpowered by the muffled laughs and conversations happening. Pushing through, he realized just how loud it was.
At first, it was almost overpowering how loud it was. Kyle knew it would just take some time to get used to. He'd never been to anything like this before so he assumed this was probably a normal thing. Scattered all throughout the large room were couches, chairs, and everything in between. Hallways led deeper in the building, but they were all blocked off by bigger, stronger looking pokémon. Each of the pokémon blocking the halls had name tags hanging around their necks, but they were all too far away to read. "Probably VIP or donors only or something…" he mumbled to himself.
Kyle had absolutely no idea where to go or where to start looking. Kyle was a tiny bit on the shy side so he couldn't really go and just approach a pokémon he liked… but what did he like? He wasn't entirely sure. "Guess I could sit and just look around…"
Deciding that was his best course of action, Kyle pushed his way through the crowd of people and pokémon until he got to a relatively empty set of couches. A couple people seemed to have the same idea as they all sat quietly, eyeing the place like he wanted. Not wanting to bug them, he sat on an empty one, away from the people. Then he began his search.
The first thing Kyle noticed was that almost none of the pokémon had name tags like him or the pokémon watching the hallways. Those without them must be the ones up for adoption. If that was the case then he definitely had his work cut out for him. The second thing he noticed is that there were all evolutions of pokémon - not just their first. Luxray, charmeleon, wigglytuff, pichu… This place really did let any pokémon in that did need a home.
So, what kind of pokémon should he look for? He knew for certain he wanted a female pokémon. That was the first thing he figured out. Though that raised a problem. He had absolutely no way of telling genders. He couldn't just look between their legs or anything. That would be both awkward and rude. Kyle didn't want to upset a pokémon by turning it down for being the wrong gender but… maybe that wasn't an uncommon thing. Pokémon had trainer preferences as well, right?
"Excuse me," a voice called out as Kyle felt something sharp tapping his shoulder from behind. Turning around, he saw a charmeleon with a bag on its back. Like the hallway pokémon, this one had a name tag. "Might I interest you in a drink? Water? Soda?"
"Oh. Uh… Sure, I guess. Water is fine." The pokémon nodded and took its bag off then sat it on the couch. It opened it up and pulled a bottle of water out then passed it to him. "Here you go…" the pokémon paused and squinted at his name. "Kyle! My name is Amber. I haven't seen you here before. New? First time?"
Kyle graciously accepted the water from her then nodded. "Yeah… Not entirely sure what to look for, either."
"Maybe I could help you? I know a lot of pokémon here so I could definitely find you the perfect pokémon!" Amber offered him. That was very nice of her and would make it a lot easier for him.
"I would like that," Kyle told her. She smiled, slung the bag back over her shoulders, then motioned to follow her. Wasting no time, Kyle did just that.
"So," she began as they started walking around in no particular direction, "let me explain something to you. Did you see that hallway by the front that had those pokémon in front of it?"
"Yeah. Figured they were restricted for donors or something."
"Yep! Sometimes people want more private time with a potential pokémon. That's where that leads. Bedrooms and private places to share a meal are down that way," she explained to him. "We treat our donors like royalty. The more donated, the more you get."
"Wait, what do you mean by private time and bedrooms? Are you meaning…" he trailed off. Amber looked at him and giggled.
"You didn't know?"
"Know what?" he asked confusedly.
"Happy Hands Adoption is pokephilia friendly," she told him bluntly. "A lot of us are completely fine with it and encourage it. What better way to find a forever home than the perfect romantic, or sexual if that's all you want, partner?"
"W-wait. Hold on. Are you serious? You're telling me if me or someone else asked you right now for sex, you'd be down?" Kyle asked her skeptically. She laughed at him and playfully pushed his shoulder.
"No. I'm working. Off the clock though, you might get a different answer," she winked at him. Kyle couldn't help but chuckle. The last thing he expected was to find this place encouraged pokephilia. "Now, just because we want it to happen, doesn't mean it will. Not all pokémon want just that. A lot of pokémon do want trainers who want to battle and go on journeys with and not just a sex-filled life. You know?"
"Sure. That definitely makes sense," he nodded.
"So, since you're new here and obviously didn't know what we encourage, I guess it's safe to assume you didn't come looking for that?" Amber asked him. Kyle stayed quiet and couldn't help but blush. She knew that silence meant something. Kyle flinched when she grabbed his hand. "Come with me. We are gonna have a fun talk."
"Oh no…" he mumbled. Kyle knew he was in for it now. Amber led him back to the couch she found him at and pushed him to sit down.
"You wait here. I'll be right back." Before he could respond, she dashed off into the crowd. Just like that, Kyle was alone. Thankfully, it wasn't too long until she got back. The only thing different was she no longer had that backpack on. "Sorry. Had to have someone take over so I can help you."
"Oh you don't need to! If you're working-."
"I'm not passing this up," Amber interrupted with a huge grin on her face. She stepped closer and he expected her to sit next to him. However she did not do that. Instead she climbed into his lap and sat on her knees, effectively straddling him. He was completely caught off by her doing that.
"W-what are you doing?" he asked her.
"So. You came here for a sexual partner, huh?" Amber asked. She gave a knowing smile that only grew when he stayed quiet. "What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?"
"Why does it matter if I did or not?" he asked her seriously. "Are you wanting me to adopt you or something if I am?"
"That's a possibility. I want to know so I know who to hook you up with… I mean who to introduce you to!" Amber giggled loudly. Kyle figured more and more that sex happened than he really knew.
"It wasn't the main thing. Just…"
"A majority?" Kyle nodded to her.
"Well, now I know you want us. Was that question about sex you saying you wanted to?" Amber asked in a gentle voice. She brought her paws to his chest and gently ran them all over. Kyle had absolutely no idea what was going on or how to answer. "Do you want to fuck? Maybe we could work out a deal…"
"W-what?" Kyle spoke. He was barely able to get anything out as she leaned in closer. There was no way she should be doing what she was out in the open.
"Since you're new and are here to find someone for sex, I can let you in on something," she told him quietly. He felt her hot breath in his neck, shivers being sent down his spine with each breath. "Our donors get some… special rewards. I'll happily take you back to my room for a very quick glimpse at what you would get if you tell me you'll donate right now. Doesn't need to be much…"
"W-wait. Hold on… please…" he said in an almost begging tone. Pulling herself away, Amber looked Kyle in the eyes. "You're saying if I give you money, you'll have sex with me? Right now?"
"Not sex but… I'll give you something," she answered. He was about to ask what until she grabbed his hands with her paws then subtly winked. He knew then and there what it was.
"I uh… Well… This is… a little awkward…" he mumbled. Amber let go of his hands and tilted her head curiously.
"What?"
"I was… um… looking for a pokémon to offer that to… sort of…" Kyle told her. She was taken aback by that and didn't expect such a thing from him.
"Now this I need to hear. Tell me exactly what you're wanting. I have to know!" Amber pretty much demanded. Kyle took a deep breath while nodding slowly.
"I'm looking for someone who… is willing to sleep with me. Anytime, anywhere. I live alone so you can assume how lonely that is," Kyle began explaining. Amber listened intently as he kept going. "To spare details, I'll return the favor by offering a place to live. I can pamper this pokémon beyond their wildest dreams, to say the least. Even though I do want sex, I also really want companionship. Does that make sense?"
"Okay, I've got the perfect pokémon in mind. What are you wanting though for looks? Obviously you've got to have something in mind. You want one or multiple pokémon?" Amber asked quickly, hardly giving him time to answer.
"I don't know what I want. I just know I really like pokémon. All of them," he answered her seriously. "For now, just one, maybe two. If all goes well, I'll gladly be back to adopt more."
"I've got the perfect girl for you, oh my God!" she exclaimed excitedly. Amber had the biggest smile on her face he'd ever seen. She jumped from his lap. "Do you mind if I go find her? I'll be shocked if you don't like her."
"Uhh… Sure?" Kyle nodded.
"Okay! I'll be back with her as soon as I can! Feel free to interact or… whatever!" Amber said as she ran off into the crowd once again. The second he was alone, Kyle couldn't help but wonder who this pokémon was. Was she bipedal or quadruped? Was she scaled or furred? Why she didn't just tell him so he knew what to expect baffled him. It didn't bug him but he didn't want to see the pokémon and turn it down based on looks. If he was going to have a sexual partner, he wanted one who he found attractive. Hopefully whoever she was bringing back was one he would find attractive.
Kyle waited for several minutes. Amber passed by multiple times, telling him she couldn't find her. He tried to ask who the pokémon was but she ignored him each time. Giving up, Kyle just waited quietly and looked at the pokémon as they went by. He tried to figure out just what kind of pokémon he found most attractive but… he found them all to be. Picking the perfect one was going to be difficult. At least that's what he kept thinking.
Amber stopped coming by. He figured it was because she was looking through the bedrooms to see if she went and hooked up with someone. If this place was as active as Amber made it out to be, it would have definitely made sense for that to be the reason she couldn't find this pokémon. However, Amber finding this pokémon vanished from Kyle's thoughts. Instead, new ones came when he saw a pokémon about to pass by. He immediately found this pokémon to be attractive, very much so. In fact, much more than many of the others.
The pokémon was on four legs. It was orange and had a large mane of fur on its head and around its neck. Everyone this pokémon walked by tried to start a conversation with it but it didn't seem too interested. It made sense. Flareon was a very sought out pokémon just because it was an evolution of eevee. Even though it didn't seem very interested in talking to the other people, Kyle wasn't going to miss the chance at meeting this beautiful pokémon.
For a split second, it looked over in his direction. When it did, Kyle motioned for it to come over. It stopped walking and looked around, trying to figure out if he meant it. Nodding to the flareon, it looked around to be sure he really meant it. Kyle nodded more to the flareon. After being sure he was trying to get its attention, it pretty much bounced over to him, much to his enjoyment. "Hey! What's up?" it asked with a huge smile on its face. Judging from its voice, Kyle was able to figure out this flareon was a female, which was perfect for him.
"I just wanted to say something," he told her. She cocked her head sideways and eyed him curiously.
"Yeah? What's up?" she asked curiously. Kyle stayed quiet for a moment, his nervousness taking over. He opened his mouth to tell her but nothing came up. "...Kyle?" she said after reading his name.
"S-sorry. Never mind. You'd probably think I was weird if I started a conversation like that…" he chuckled nervously. He was shocked to feel such a way about a pokémon. He felt confident about calling her over, yet had none when it came to complimenting.
"I've been dealing with weird people hitting on me all day. So I've heard it all. You don't need to be afraid!" she told him with that smoke coming back. "Here, maybe this will help. My name is Hope! Now you know my name! Will you tell me now?" Blitz asked hopefully. She stepped closer to him until she was right in front of him. "Oh! You could pet my head if you wanted? That usually helps humans not feel nervous!"
"I-I can? Really?" he asked her. She nodded frantically, almost as if she wanted him to. Kyle reached towards her then stopped. Blitz picked up immediately on him being nervous so she met him the rest of the way and pushed her head into his hand, now demanding it from him. He was met with the softest, warmest feeling ever as he fur on her head ran through his fingers.
"See! It's fine!" Blitz exclaimed happily. She looked up at him, still leaning into his hand. "Please tell me what you were going to say?" she asked. Kyle took a deep breath. Like she said, being able to pet her did help quite a bit.
"I uh… I just wanted to say that I think… you are… uh… really pretty…" Kyle told her, growing quieter with each word. She pulled away and Kyle quickly began to think he upset her. Instead she giggled at him.
"That's what's got you flustered?!" Blitz said, her giggling turning into laughter. As she laughed, she pushed herself into his lap where she began to muzzle into him appreciatively. "Thank you for the genuine, non-perverted compliment. So many guys have been saying a lot of different things, so you saying that makes you better than them instantly."
"You're welcome…" Kyle said quietly. It took all of his willpower to not wrap his arms around her and not let go. She was so warm and soft as she nuzzled into his chin and neck. He slowly brought his hands up and continued petting her, to which she didn't stop him.
"I assume you're here to adopt? Find any pokémon you wanted?" Blitz asked after another minute of affection. She slowly climbed from his lap and sat in front of him and between his legs. She eyed him curiously soon after.
"Uhh… Not really. Well… Sort of…" he told her.
"Oh really? Nice! What Pokémon?" Was Kyle supposed to be blunt and say he wanted to adopt her? He wasn't sure because she mentioned other guys saying things about her that were implied to be sexual. She seemed to not like that. Then again, she should know that he was interested in her. Even if she wasn't, then maybe she knew another flareon who might have been. Deciding that honesty and being upfront was better, Kyle came out with it.
"Look I don't want to beat around the bush. I'd really, really like to adopt you," Kyle said. She stayed still, not budging an inch. She stayed quiet for what felt like an eternity then finally said something.
"You hardly know me. Why would you want to?"
"Do you want me to be blunt?"
"Yes! I want to know exactly why. Is it because you want to have sex with me?" Blitz asked. Kyle slowly nodded and took a deep breath.
"When I called you over, yes, that was the initial reason. But when you let me pet you, that was just a different reason. I want to adopt you because I am seeking out a very specific pokémon. You're the only one who has filled out that role I want," Kyle explained. Once more she cocked her head sideways.
"So… you don't want to anymore?"
"Oh no, I do. I really do if you want to be blunt. But I want something else. I know you're probably wanting to walk away because I said I want sex but can you give me a chance to explain? Please?" Kyle asked her. Blitz looked the tiniest bit disappointed she was called over for that reason but she really appreciated him being upfront and honest. Plus he complimented her and seemed to really mean it. That alone meant a lot.
"Yeah, sure. Please go ahead! I'm all ears!" Blitz told him with that smoke coming back. He sighed with relief then gave an appreciative smile back.
"Thank you Hope. It means a lot you'll hear me out." Blitz nodded quickly, Kyle beginning his explanation right after. "Let me start from the beginning. My name is Kyle. I live alone and am looking for a very specific bunch of pokémon. I do not have any right now so I figured I'd start slow and adopt one. I was tired of having nobody to be with so I thought a pokémon would be a perfect fit, which is why I'm here.
"The reason I chose to adopt instead of look for human friends is because I really, really, really like pokémon," he told her. "I mean I'm almost obsessed. I've always wanted a pokémon but never put the effort into getting one so I'm here now."
"Obsession turned into a big attraction, didn't it? You want someone who could be a sex buddy?" she asked him.
"Yes and no. See, I might be alone but that is by choice. I have… well, a lot of money. Way more than I know what to do with," he continued on. "I figured I could help change a pokemon's life. I'm here to offer… a trade of sorts."
"How much money? You don't need to answer but I'm genuinely curious!" she told him. Kyle figured that question would have come up but he saw genuine curiosity. She didn't present herself as someone who only would care about the money.
"Let's say that it is in the eight digit area. So… a lot," he answered.
"Wow… Okay! That's a lot! Please do continue!"
"Yeah… It is… I'm alone because the people I had in my life used me for my money. It bugged me because I only got fake friendships in return. Well if I'm going to get used for my money, I'm going to at least make sure I'm getting something that I want in return," he told the flareon. She nodded slowly and continued listening. "So the trade. I want a pokémon who would let me pamper her. By that I mean spoil rotten. Whatever she wants, with reason, I would provide it for her. Anything and everything this pokémon would want, she would have. She would have a life of luxury. She would be my princess."
"And in return, you want sex? Right?"
"I do," he nodded, "but I also want something else. I'm sure sex is great and all but I really want a friend. I want someone to sleep with, talk to, cuddle, everything like that. It could be considered like I'm buying a friend, sure, but I'm at least getting something I want with my money."
"Wait, have you ever had sex?" Blitz asked curiously. Kyle couldn't stop himself from looking away shyly. She had her answer from that. "You're a virgin and want to lose it that way? Really? I mean it's your life but… And no offense by that of course!"
"I don't think you understand how much I love pokémon. It's a dream to be that close to one," Kyle explained to her. She stepped even closer and put her paws on his legs, putting her at eye level with him. "I'm just… Yeah, you get it."
"Fair enough. If you really want, I could definitely have you set up with someone to be your first," Blitz offered him seriously. Kyle smiled widely but shook his head.
"It's fine. I truthfully wouldn't even know who I would want. If someone is going to be my first, I would like it to be someone I can definitely say I'm attracted to."
"So, me?" she asked curiously.
"...Does it bug you that I would definitely want that?" Kyle asked worriedly. She let another giggle slip out as she shook her head side to side. "Good because I'd want that."
"Then I assume you want me to go home with you for the sex and money trade?"
"Honestly…" Kyle mumbled then thought for a moment. "It sounded better in my head but you're a really nice pokémon. If you come home with me, let me do the other stuff like spoil you, and if the sex ever happened, perfect. If not, oh well. I really, really want a friend and something tells me you would fit it perfectly."
"Hmmm…" Blitz hummed. "I think what you're offering is genuinely a fair trade… Wait!" she suddenly exclaimed. Kyle jumped from how loud she yelled. Seconds later, a smile creeped up on her face which worried him. "You want to be a sugar daddy, don't you?" Kyle almost burst out laughing when she said that.
"I guess in the long run, it would look that way, huh?"
"It does! Sex and you buy the girl whatever she wants? That's literally the definition!" Blitz said while laughing. She had the biggest smile, something Kyle really liked to see. "So, are you offering that to me?"
"I am. I do really think you're beautiful. I didn't say that in hopes of swaying you into saying yes, either…" Kyle told her seriously. She smirked at him.
"You didn't say beautiful. You said I'm pretty. Which is it?" she teased playfully.
"Uh…"
"I'm only joking. I'll say this, you genuinely have me interested. I Blitz you're not wanting a virgin, by the way. Because I'm not."
"No that's fine! That's better because I have a lot of… fantasies so maybe a pokémon who had experienced them would be better! You know, more open to them and everything!" Kyle told her. She nodded back. "Here. Let me make you an offer. I do want sex, but let's ignore that. Give me a week to show you the life I can give. One week of pampering as a spoiling. I won't expect sex back at all. I'd ask you to sleep with me and cuddle but that's it. Obviously I won't turn it down if you wanted to do that but… You get it."
"So let me make sure I'm getting this right," she spoke up. Now Kyle listened intently. "You want me to come live with you for a week. For that week, you're going to buy me whatever I want or do whatever I want. In return, you just want me to spend time with you and cuddle? And maybe have sex with you if I feel like it. Am I understanding this right?"
"Yep. That's exactly right!" Kyle said. Blitz thought long and hard. An offer like that was definitely unexpected. "If you decide that life isn't for you, I will bring you back. No hard feelings or anything. I came here knowing that it may take a while to find one who does want that life so I won't hold grudges if you end up not liking it for whatever reason. And whatever I've got you, you can keep. My treat," he said with a smile. "All I would ask is you help me find a new partner."
"Hmm…" Kyle could tell she was thinking long and hard about the idea. Did she want to find a trainer who she battle with for the rest of her life or did what this human offer sound better? Kyle definitely looked and acted like a nice human, she knew that for certain. But did he really have the money he said he did? If she went home today, she was going to find out just by the house he lived in. "Okay…" Blitz finally spoke up."Okay! I'll take you up on the offer."
Kyle almost jumped for hot he was so excited she said yes. He didn't expect to find a pokémon this quickly. "You will?! Really?!"
"Yep!" she said with a bright smile. "Even though I do, I would like to make something clear to you now."
"Yes, sure. Whatever it is!"
"I will be testing you. You're a nice human but I want to really see if you mean what you've told me. You know, find out if you were exaggerating about the money and whatever. I honestly don't care too much about that," she explained to him, "but I do care about your honesty. So for one week, I'm going to test and learn about you. See the boundaries. Sound okay?"
"You're still going to do what I asked, right? Not the sex but other things… I mean the sex too if you wanted but…"
"I get what you're saying," Blitz told him with a smile. "Yes, I'll still do that stuff. I don't mind at all. That in mind, I think I'm going to maybe come up with a reward of some kind for whenever you do something good. Or if I don't need to beg or something. Like how I had to beg you to tell me what you wanted earlier!"
"Oh? Like what? You've got me curious now," Kyle told her. She smiled at him innocently.
"How about this? Let's finish here and get some food and talk about everything. I've got a lot of questions I need answered. If you agree, I'll give you your first reward. From there you can determine how much of a good boy you want to be around me," she said with a playful smirk. Kyle already knew this flareon was perfect for him.
"Sounds like something else is gonna happen if I disobey you…" he said in a joking tone. She giggled in response. "Sure. I wouldn't mind some food. You'll just have to tell me where and how to finish up here."
"Not a problem! Come on, I'll show you," Blitz said as she stood up. She turned around and was about to walk off until Kyle spoke up.
"Hold on. You said if I agreed to food, I'd get a reward? Well, what is it?"
"So you are paying attention. That's good!" Blitz told him as she turned back around to face him. She had a happy and appreciative smile because he actually did listen. "Well, what would you want as a special reward? You pick. Make it something that you think you'll get often during the week."
Kyle knew exactly what he wanted but would it have been weird to ask? He expected a lot of hugs and physical contact but… this one might have been pushing it. She wanted to wait the week before anything sexual but… was what he wanted really even sexual? Maybe to some… He wasn't sure if he should tell her until he remembered the one thing she wanted: honesty. "Would… you maybe… I don't know… maybe be okay with, like, maybe…"
"Just spit it out. I already know what you want. You won't get it until you tell me," she said with a big, playful smirk. Kyle hated how he was so nervous about this. He had all the confidence on the way here, now this.
"Fuck. Kiss, please?"
"See, that wasn't so bad, was it?" Blitz asked him gently. He blushed at the fact he actually asked her that. "Yes, I will gladly do that. Do you want that to be your special reward?" Kyle stayed quiet out if embarrassment but nodded slightly.
"You know, I'm gonna have to help you get over that nervousness. If you want to be a sugar daddy, you'll need to be forward and direct. You are going to be getting sex, so…" Blitz told him as she climbed into his lap. He looked her in the eyes as she out her paws on his shoulders. Without wasting any time, she leaned in and put her lips to his gently.
Kyle's heart fluttered when he realized she was actually kissing him. Her lips were so warm and so soft. The way she held him in place and gave him what he really wanted, and needed, put him in a state of euphoria. He brought his hands up and gently put them on her hips where she then pulled away from the kiss. "Is that what you wanted?" she asked as she rested her head on his.
"It is…" he told her with a smile. Kyle couldn't describe how he felt, other than happy.
"I'm glad. You can earn those a lot of different ways but I'm not gonna tell you how," she grinned.
"Hey Kyle! I seriously have no idea…" a familiar voice called out to him. He and Blitz both turned to the voice and saw Amber running towards them. "Oh… I'm sorry, was I interrupting?"
"Hi Amber!" Blitz exclaimed.
"Wait, Hope? I've been looking for you! I was going to introduce you to Kyle! No way!" she exclaimed back. Amber couldn't help but laugh at the fact the two just happened to meet randomly.
"Oh you were? Well then! I guess you'll be the first to know then," Blitz told her. Amber gave her a confused gaze for just a second then realized what she was going to say.
"Wait, you don't mean…"
"Yep!"
"That's so great!" Amber yelled excitedly. She then turned to Kyle where he saw how overwhelmed with joy she was. "Believe me or not, Blitz was who I was looking for. I knew she would be perfect! And from what I saw just a second ago, I think I was right…" she said with a knowing grin.
"Eat me. I'm going with him for a week to see how it all goes," Blitz told her friend. Kyle stayed quiet, letting the two talk. "If it goes as good as I think it will, I'll be staying with him permanently!"
"That's great news! I'm so glad you both found each other. I know for a fact you two are perfect together," Amber smiled. "Promise me you'll come back and tell me in person?" Amber asked Kyle. He nodded to her.
"Of course. I'd definitely like to thank the pokémon who was going to recommend me to her," he said with a chuckle. Amber nodded back quickly.
"So I assume you need help with the adoption process then?" Amber asked the two, to which they both nodded. "I got it! Come on, let's get you two cuties out of here."
"Cuties?" Kyle asked with a grin. Blitz giggled.
"That's her way of saying she wants in your pants."
