The mountainous, cold region of Sinnoh felt isolated and in many ways trapped in the past. Veilstone had the only large store in the Sinnoh region until Sam Walton decided to open the only Wal-Mart in Sinnoh in Jubilife, a large, modern city conveniently located near Lake Verity, Twin Leaf, Sandgem, Canalave, Oreburgh, and Floaroma. Low level Bidoof could often be found in the grass of many of these areas surrounding the city.
In the depths of Winter, Sinnoh is a very cold region. Despite this, Sam Walton travels
to check in on his new store in February of 1974. In the store, he hears the sliding automatic doors open with a mechanical sound, but he doesn't notice the figure of a human. Looking down, Sam notices a small Bidoof approaching him. The Bidoof charges at him. "GET THIS RODENT OUT OF MY STORE!" Sam yells at the workers in the store in panic. They just watch as the Bidoof nuzzles gently against him. Sam had misunderstood. This Bidoof isn't hostile, in fact it's quite friendly.
Later that day, the Bidoof follows Sam to his hotel he's staying at in Sinnoh. Sam asks the Bidoof, "What do you want, some food? Should've stayed at Wal-Mart."
Bidoof simply responds with a declining "Bidoof doof doof Bidoof."
Sam then asks, "So you followed me because you like me and want to become friends?"
Bidoof approves with a "Bidoof!"
"More than friends?"
Bidoof again approves with a "Bidoof!"
Bidoof and Sam play cards throughout the night. When Sam returns to Bentonville, Arkansas, he brings his loving Bidoof along. They begin to grow old together. Bidoof even manages its own Wal-Mart. Sam's wife leaves him, but he can't care less, he's with Bidoof now to the end.
