"I can't believe iron man died! I mean, iron man!"

"Black widow too. And Captain America is like ninety, so he's basically gone."

We were almost yelling as we wandered out of the movie, but not without good reason. Almost every character was dead!

Ellie continued to talk angrily about how everyone was dead, finishing with, "And I still can't believe Loki died in infinity war. He was my favourite character!"

I laughed.

"I think you're in love with him."

"Liv! I am not!" She replied, "I just think he is a very interesting character, and he's…"

I normally ignore her rants about whatever she's obsessed with at the moment, and chose to do so this time as well.

"I'm going to the bathroom," I told her as I walked away.

There was a very strange looking person standing there. She, or he, (I couldn't tell which) was wearing an oversized hoodie which covered their face, and was hunched over. I didn't think much of it, thought. You get all sorts of weirdos in places like this.

I jumped when the figure silently beckoned me over. I could tell it was a woman, when she said,

"Miss… Jones? Olivia?"

Okay…

I thought she was very strange, but I went over to her anyway. I didn't notice that there was suddenly almost nobody around, I was too confused to notice anything.

Is she some kind of crazy person?

"Miss Jones, what if I told you everything that happened those 'movies' you like was real? Everything in the marvel universe?" She asked me.

Definitely a crazy person.

"Uh…" I didn't know what to say.

"We would need someone to go and stop all those people from disappearing for five whole years, wouldn't we?" She said it as though it wasn't really a question.

I decided I needed to get out of there. Things were getting too weird.

"Uh, sure! I'm just gonna go now, so…" I started, and then began to walk swiftly away from the crazy lady.

Before I was out of her sight, she called something to me.

"And, Olivia? This is not a dream."

And everything went black.

The first thing I noticed was the mud colored, rocky ground I was standing on. It wasn't like anywhere I had been before, and it didn't even look like anywhere on Earth. Not far away, there was a large purple creature, who looked suspiciously like... Thanos?

I am definitely dreaming.

And then Thanos spoke in a low, rumbling voice.

"One to go."

He then fell back into a sort of cloud, and was gone.

I started to wonder if the woman wasn't really that crazy. After all, I was looking at half guardians of the galaxy, iron man, Spiderman, and Doctor Strange. They hadn't seen me yet, they all looked to shocked to be able to notice anything. There were a few moments of silence, then,

"Who the hell is the kid, Stark?"

Oh no. Star lord? What...

Tony Stark looked confused for a moment, and then he noticed me.

"Who the heck are you? How did you get here?" He started to walk towards me, but then the man who I assumed to be Doctor Strange interrupted.

"That's impossible."

He was staring at me like I was a ghost. He knew where I was from, and couldn't believe it. What should I say? Oh, me? Well, I'm just from another universe where you're all fictional characters in movies.

Tony sighed. "Who is the kid, Strange?"

He finally spoke, saying,

"I don't know who she is, exactly, but she's from... another universe." He said slowly.

"You're from another universe? Cool!" It was easy to tell that this was Peter Parker, and I would have laughed if we were in a different situation.

But before anyone else could say anything, there came a shout from Mantis, as she slowly turned to dust.
