Hey lol. I am back another rewrite of this story and Im happy with the way this started. My world building is something I have to work on and this rewrite was a bit of my own stab at it. I have how I want to start it and a decent direction I want to go with it. With this quarantine going on I have all the time to think and write. Be safe, stay clean, stay home and read some fanfiction.
The Uzumaki. An ancient order of soldiers that exist on an isolated island off the coast of Japan in covert peace away from the modern world. For centuries, the Uzumaki were a bridge and barrier between the natural and the supernatural. But grave times were ahead, and that bridge was about to shatter.
The afternoon sun was shining an orange glow on the horizon and the calm breeze of spring was present. The leaves in the trees were ruffling and the village was bustling and heading towards the nighttime preparations. Children were still running about and playing their favorite games of tag or ninja hearing the occasional shout from an adult in the village. "Sorry guys, I gotta get home. I'll see you guys at the academy tomorrow." Spoke a young child as he was waving bye to some of his friends. The child was around the age of seven wearing an orange hoodie and black shorts with low sneakers on his feet. The boy was blonde in hair and tanned in skin color with deep indigo eyes with a bright smile on his face as he saw his home.
The house was an average sized home with two stories on the house, colored a calm beige with a brown colored roof. Walking to the front door he could smell dinner being prepared and even hear his mother's soft humming. He could hear the vegetables she was chopping and smell the meat cooking that was being cooked at the moment. He opened the front door, "OKAA! I'm home! Where are you!" shouted an adorable voice filled with joy and happiness. He ran in the home and the subtle sound of pitter patter of socks traveled throughout the home running to wear he knows her to be. "I'm in the kitchen honey!" spoke the voice that the boy desired to hear.
Entering the kitchen and looking up the boy was greeted to the sound of beautiful humming he looked at her long wavy vermillion colored hair that reached to her thighs. She wore a black turtleneck that looked to be made of breathable material, a grey knee length skirt and a pair of comfy fuzzy slippers were wrapped around her manicured feet. Turning around the woman graced her beloved with a radiant smile that covered the boy in motherly love. Her heart shaped face was fair skinned, unblemished and her beautiful and enchanting Azure eyes always shined brilliantly when she looked at him. This was the beautiful Kanna Uzumaki.
"Hello baby, how are you doing?" Questioned the matriarch as she made her way to her Babyboy and scooping him in a simple hug and kiss on the cheek eliciting a giggle. "I'm good Kaa-san just hungry." The boy said with a smile as he laid on her shoulder and smelled her perfume. This scent mixed with her natural warmth always made him feel safe and easily put him to sleep without even trying. "I'm making dinner soon, so you'll have to be patient Babyboy." Spoke Kanna.
"Can I have a snack or something Kaa-san?" Asked the boy as he nuzzled into her neck and hugged onto her. "No Naruto, dinner will be ready soon. Now tell me about your day at the academy." Patiently Kanna waited she knew what was too come and surely the ball of energy perked up and gave a mega-wat smile allowing her to look at the boy's features.
She stared into those big beautiful indigo colored eyes that radiated nothing but purity and innocence that only made her want to hug and squeeze the child. The boy had tanned skin and a round face with full cheeks that made him look akin to an adorable chipmunk. She ran her manicured fingers through the smooth hair of the child eliciting a feeling of bliss between the two. The hair was colored pure whiten-gold, similar to the boy's father much to her consternation she always wanted her child to inherit her own luscious red locks. 'You are the perfect combination of us. You have your father's eyes, skin and hair but you have my face and smile you are perfect my beautiful boy Uzumaki Naruto.' Thought, Kanna.
"Are you listening Kaa-chan?"
Startled by the question, Kanna looked into Naruto's eyes and saw annoyance on the boy's face, "Jeez Kaa-chan you ask about my day and don't even listen to me when I tell you. So rude." The boy finished with a huff of annoyance that didn't change when he heard the laughter that followed behind his display. "Kaa-chan's sorry she was just admiring her beautiful baby boy. Can you forgive me?" She asked as she hugged her baby tighter.
"I'll consider it if you give me a snack to eat." The boy spoke with a sly smile on his face. "Not in your dreams mister." Spoke Kanna in a pseudo serious tone in response to her son's attempted manipulations. Causing the boy to turn towards her with a look of abject betrayal at the words that come from his beloved mother's mouth. "Then you will never be forgiven by Uzumaki Naruto!" Kanna laughed at the boy's response.
Standing up and placing the boy on the wooden chair in and pushed him towards the dining room table. With a practiced ease Kanna set a bowl and fork in front of Naruto to set him up for dinner that was soon to be finished. "Your father will be home soon baby, and you can tell us both about your day while we eat dinner." The boy smiled after hearing that his dad was finally coming back, "Really?! He's coming back today?"
"He is, so now you have to have an amazing story to tell him when he comes home!" Spoke the beautiful Uzumaki with happiness as she began stirring the pot to keep the noodles from sticking.
A long and mentally tiring mission and an even longer boat ride had finally come to an end and now he was on his way to his beloved son and wife. The mission was simple in nature offer militarized training to some of the bodyguards and soldiers of the Kyoto military force. But he underestimated the amount of work those soldiers needed; no unity, camaraderie, ingenuity or variety in their technique. Even fresh students in the military could defeat some of the more seasoned members of Yasaka's forces when he first got their last September. The one saving grace of those soldiers was that they were pupils that were willing to learn and didn't complain about learning.
Regardless the mission was over, and it was May now, and he loved this time of year the trees and flowers were blooming the smell of plant life and nature was deeply placed in the air. He could feel the calm and beautiful energy surrounding the island and everyone on the island. The Uzumaki clan were a blessed clan, gifted with the ability to channel and manipulate one's own energy for understanding and combat purposes. The energy was known as chakra and the ancient arts and techniques developed in the past were still being passed down to members of the clan to this day. Today very few in the world knew the true strength of chakra and the many capabilities that the power had. When one mastered their own energies, they become able to perform many magnificent feats that humanity would call the work of gods and.
Walking calmly with purpose and precision down a dirt path was a pair of black knee-high boots that didn't make a single sound with each step. The man wore black hakama pants with two brown belts crossing over each other that were holding his pants up on his body. On the left side of the man was a moderately curved katana the hilt and sheathe were both lacquered solid black with both ends of the hilt and sheathe being colored gold. The sheathe of the sword had three green cords wrapped tightly with a golden trefoil patterned tsuba. On the sheathe and hilt were crimson Higanbana flowers in their full bloom. The top was a black Gakuren shirt with a pure white haori draped over his shoulders with red threads lining the wrists of the haori.
The man's face was strong and masculine with a trimmed moustache and goatee growing giving him a more angular face. His skin was tanned with long wavy hair colored in whiten-gold with blazing vermillion tipped ends. The hair was pulled back into a high ponytail with collarbone length bangs allowing his sharp indigo eyes and hanafuda earrings to be on full display. This was the legendary Yoriichi Uzumaki returning to Uzushio after being away for so many months.
Absentmindedly he stretched his senses out looking for his two-favorite people in the world. He felt the energy signatures of the various deer, foxes, bears, fish, squirrels, boars and the various members of the village. He was about 250 meters from the village and could feel everyone in the village and felt the normal cheer and happiness that the clansmen held. Then he felt that bright energy signature, heavenly and radiant. As a moth to a flame Yoriichi was always drawn to that intoxicating aura that Kanna naturally exuded. Throughout the village Kanna's signature was the brightest to him, it never failed every time he returned from a mission, he would sense the village and she always stuck out to him. Even when they were in the academy together, she was the one person that always stuck out to him which made him want to get to know her.
He couldn't wait to see her again and a casual stroll was impeding upon this soon needed reunion, preparing to jump towards his home and into the arms of his beloved wife. Ducking swiftly and spinning in his crouch, Yoriichi delivered a kick to the attacker's midsection and releasing a small burst of chakra sending them flying away. In one's place five more appeared and he got a good look at all of his supposed attackers. They were uniformed in black Buddhist monk robes that covered all the way down to their feet, white pants were seen under the slits in their robes and the pants were bandaged and tucked into tabi boots. They were all males based upon their body size and wore amigasas on their heads to cover their faces and all carries ringed shakujos in their right hands.
He hadn't seen assassins with such uniforms before, "Who are you and why are you attacking me?" Yoriichi commanded with a glare presented to all five assassins.
Silence was his answer as the five charged in all weaving in different patterns in an attempt to confuse the legendary Uzumaki warrior. Yoriichi sped towards the five and immediately disrupted their formation with a shockwave from a pulse of chakra. Grabbing the ankle of one of the men The Uzumaki spun with great spin and slammed him into the ground creating a small crater out of the man's body. Two shakujos were swung towards his head and rib causing the blonde to jump back quickly to gain some space. Yoriichi's senses tracked two of his assailants behind him with blades poised to stab him in the back, planting his feet into the ground and moving quickly Yoriichi went into a handstand kicking both assassins in their hands knocking the blades out of their hand. Righting himself once again the Uzumaki spun and delivered a roundhouse kick eliminating the two into the trees.
The final two ran towards the Uzumaki and began a rabid assault with their shakujos with the ease of a dancer he danced away from each strike effortlessly. It was as if the man was water and moving throughout each strike without impediment. Taking a strong step Yoriichi moved into the range of one of the shakujos and broke it with a well-timed palm strike. Following the palm strike Yoriichi struck the assassin in the jaw with a fist that sent the man speeding away into a tree snapping it in half. Turning to the final assailant both men stared at each other and Yoriichi noticed on the pearls of the man was a golden emblem of a three-legged crow surrounded by a circle. "I will ask you once again, who are you and why are you here?"
Just as expected the man ran towards Yoriichi without a word and with a glare the Uzumaki charged headfirst into his opponent. Three strikes; one to the rib, one to the chest and chakra powered chop to the Adam's apple and it ended. The assassin dropped like a sack of potatoes with blood slowly flowing from the man's mouth. Ripping the emblem from the man's neck Yoriichi walked over to a semi-conscious man and grabbed him by the throat and leaped off to report this to his leader.
There were many things one learns about themselves when they become a leader. Adversity builds a man and shows him exactly who he is; is he a strategist, is he a tyrant, was he a visionary or was he a stop gap? Every day the faith of the people was placed into the hands of their leader and it was up to him to ensure the peace be kept for his people. Two keys to a great leader are understanding who he is and understanding the next leader that will come after him. A leader was rarely ever afforded peace without any distractions. This was the Godaime Uzukage Surya Uzumaki and he was enjoying a rare peaceful moment in his office and allowing his thoughts to just pass by through his mind.
Surya was a rather muscular man that looked to be in his late 30s with short cut dark red hair combed back with a couple strands that fell over his face. The man was tanned with an angular masculine face, his golden orange slit eyes stared out upon his village from his office windows. The man was garbed in a black skin-tight shirt that was covered by a pure white haori. The inside of the haori was a dark blue coloring with a design to a great roaring dragon that was depicted to be rising from a swirling tide and howling to the moon.
The lower half of the man was black pants with brown belts crossing over and holding up his pants and wearing a pair of steel toed black boots. The evening sun was shining, and Surya could see the sun shining off the ocean and reflect the soft glaze of the sun on the horizon. Sweeping his gaze across the field from right to left he could see village academy and from there the village shopping center was visible and bustling with life even when the day was coming to an end. Many of the village homes were lighting up signaling him to the understanding that many families were beginning to sit down with each other for dinner.
Surya was deciding on what exactly he wanted to eat for dinner tonight when he locked onto an incoming figure that was speeding towards his office. The energy signature was quite familiar to the man and brought a smile to his face, walking to the window and opening it and waited patiently. A rush of wind surged through the window rustling his haori and causing a mess of his office scattering documents, utensils, pictures and rustling the entire building. Golden orange eyes stared into sharp indigo eyes creating a bit of a tense environment in the office between the two men. "I've returned from the mission Surya-sama" spoke Yoriichi as he dropped to one knee with his head bowed showing fealty to one of the few men the legendary fighter truly respected.
"Welcome back Yoriichi, I would ask how your mission was but I see that there are some more pressing matters." Spoke Surya with a keen look to the barely breathing man on the floor. Rising to his feet once again Yoriichi's cold eyes turned to the assailant and looked back to his leader spoke. "I was returning from my mission on my way to report in and I was met with six assailants wearing these uniforms and they all wore this amulet around their necks." Presenting the 3-legged crow emblem to his leader, Surya's eyes widened slightly upon seeing the emblem presented into his awaiting hand. "I dispatched the six and took the only one that was alive so we can interrogate him to figure out who they were and who they worked for." Finished Yoriichi.
Surya said nothing but continued to stare at the emblem and gained a very serious expression in his eyes. Suddenly he snapped his fingers and two men stepped out of the shadows, both men were wearing skintight black body suits with no part of their human bodies being exposed to the world. A skull mask that only covered down to the upper lip with glowing blue eyes that looked to be raging infernos. Both men dropped to their knees and spoke in unison, "Uzukage-sama. Yoriichi-taishō (General Yoriichi)." Spoke the ghosts with their heads bowed. "There was an assassination attempt of my Hand's life, one of the assailants have been brought in for interrogation. Take this emblem with you and when he wakes up gather all the information about that emblem that you can. Dismissed!" Commanded Surya turning away from his shadows knowing that his command would be followed with no hesitation or thought. They were his blades, he trained each of them specifically for that purpose. "Sir!" Signaled the two men as they grabbed the man and emblem and disappearing back into the shadows as if they weren't even there.
Surya shook his head in frustration and aggressively combed his hand through his hair and began running through books within his drawers in a frantic pace. Yoriichi looked at the man in confusion the man was just composed a second ago, now he was acting as if he just received a terrible omen. Finally, the Uzukage pulled out two books and flipped through the pages until he found exactly what he was looking for. "Yoriichi have you ever heard of an assassination organization known as the Tenshouin Naraku?" Shaking his head negatively Surya nodded and gestured to Yoriichi to sit while pouring up two glasses of Sake. Both men drank the alcoholic drink one was trying to calm his nerves while the other just wanted to go home and drink.
"My grandfather Michikatsu Uzumaki told me the story of the Tenshouin Naraku when I was a young child. During the days of the Shodaime Uzukage my great-grandfather Benimaru Uzumaki the nation of Uzu was in a constant flux of war. Uzu was a young nation and Benimaru was a warrior ruler, he wasn't a diplomat or a strategist. Benimaru was outsourcing the might of Uzu and creating the largest mercenary and assassination unit the world knew. But during this time Japan was amassing more militarized power to combat the Western world and to battle against the supernatural world. Japan contracted many of Uzu's warriors too battle against many of the natural and supernatural battles. Humanity was beginning to accept and come to understanding that there were supernatural threats in the world and not just figments of human art." Surya grabbed on the books and showed Yoriichi the text and pictured that was drawn in the book. "Does that picture look familiar to you?" Asked Surya.
With a few moments Yoriichi looked, "That's the same emblem my assassins were wearing around their necks." Nodding Surya continued in his serious tone "My great grandfather was a man that was vicious in battle, but he was very indecisive when it came to acts of leadership. He could destroy a fleet of warriors but adapting to the many changes in militarized combat wasn't his strong point. In the war that was raging between Uzu and Japan, we were making much ground and the Japanese were in a full out retreat with Benimaru even leading the charge on the front lines." Yoriichi looked at his leader, "I'm familiar with the story of Asakusa but I never understood nor was it explained why Shodai-sama's advisors would have allowed that? How did the people respond to that? Who were handling the Shodai's responsibilities while he was at war?" Fired on Yoriichi bringing a smile to Surya as he heard the questions. The Godaime poured more sake for himself and his friend.
"I asked the same questions to my grandfather and he explained to me that Oji-san was a charismatic warrior. The history of Uzu was a history of tribal islanders who harnessed their own internal energy that came together under the banner of Uzumaki. We accept only the strongest to fight and wear our flag this was the creed that Benimaru established the Uzumaki under. Oji-san was the leader who inspired people to fight and to achieve greater heights that every Uzukage after him still dreams to achieve.
He was a warrior and soldier, the greatest of Uzumaki warriors that every man, woman and child that joins our military aspires to emulate. But it was Benimaru's advisors that established the rules and legislations of the village to effectively create a system that our people can survive off of. Instituting a curriculum for academy students, health care system, establishing diplomatic relationships with other countries and supernatural kingdoms. Shikaku Uzumaki who was his chief strategist, Nagato Uzumaki, Genma Uzumaki, Byakuya Uzumaki who was the Hand of the Kage always standing beside him in any battle Oji-san took place in and Ruka Uzumaki who was both his wife and greatest advisor." Paused Surya to catch his breath.
"With the exception of Byakuya and Shikaku; Nagato, Genma and Ruka handled domestic affairs, those three were the most capable and reliable of leaders to guide the fledgling nation of Uzu and Benimaru knew this. My grandfather passed these words onto my father and my father to me. "A warrior king can never live in an era of peace his home is the battlefield. Benimaru-jichan was a warrior king, for him the battlefield was his greatest kingdom."
Yoriichi took a sip of his sake and stared into the alcohol seeing his reflection and thought of the words. "When I was a boy, I idolized Benimaru Uzumaki, he was a god to me The Battle of Asakusa was a story that I read over and over again. "The God of warriors walked with the key to Hell on his hip and opened the gates of Pandemonium on the mainland." Yoriichi touched the blade on his hip with a smile as he quoted that infamous line from the Epic of Benimaru. To wield the blade of Benimaru, Enma, was the most esteemed honor that an Uzumaki soldier could be gifted. It was a weapon gifted to the strongest warrior and honored with the title Hand of the Kage. Enma is the honorary blade of the clan that was appointed only to the greatest Uzumaki warrior to stand beside the Uzukage in the same way Benimaru and Byakuya stood beside each other in battle.
Surya smiled at his Hand as he saw the admiration in the man's eyes, "An Uzukage's reign is considered incomplete by some if he can not appoint someone worthy of wielding the blade of Enma. Michikatsu and my father both were able to find such soldiers only during the later years of their lives. Yondaime-sama met his end too soon for him to select one. I was luckier in that regard I guess." Mused the golden eyed man.
"But I digress, as I was saying the Japanese were in full retreat even trying to requisition help from Yasaka-dono and Nurarihyon-sama to help defend against our shinobi. The Japanese believed that the mystical arts of youkai would be powerful enough in potency and variability to deal with the abilities of shinobi Yasaka-dono denied sending aid to the Japanese under the pretense to remain neutral in the conflict. During those days Nagato and Ruka-obachan reached out to both youkai factions and expressed desire to establish an agreement of trade and militarized assistance that we still uphold with both to this day with Yasaka."
Surya flipped a page in the journal displaying an image that Yoriichi knew instantly. The picture depicted the sky filled with youkai and Japanese fighter planes hovering above and a ground unit consisting of 8,000 Japanese elite soldiers and youkai alike. The Japanese soldiers were wearing dark blue military tunics lead by general Yamamoto Munashi who was outfitted in a double-breasted version of the tunic with medals denoting him as general and Field Marshal to lead into battle. Standing amongst the soldiers were a massive inkling of yokai that looked ready to let loose on the shinobi world. The most notable item on each yokai was a black jacket with the character of "fear" emblazed proudly. The man standing at the helm of the army alongside Yamamoto was a tall man with a blade at his side wearing a black and green striped kimono with black amber colored eyes that seemed to shine even in the picture.
Standing across from them was the Shodaime Benimaru Uzumaki was a man of black hair and intense red eyes with a muscular build he was outfitted in an elder style uniform similar to the one Yoriichi was wearing. The gakuran shirt was still black as was the hakama pants tucked into military grade boots the man wore a flowing white robe with red horizontal lines on the wrists and coattails and was fastened loosely by a tasseled belt. On the left hip was the infamous Enma. On the right of Benimaru was the Hand of the Kage Byakuya Uzumaki. Another man of black hair with grey colored eyes wearing a similar uniform to Benimaru on differentiated by the sleeveless pure white haori and military beret the man wore. On the man's left hip was a katana with a lavender cloth wrapped hilt with an open window frame cross guard in a white sheath. With a force of 7,000 strong Uzumaki soldiers all wearing the famed crimson spiral emblem of the clan.
"The Battle of Asakusa, the final battle for Uzumaki freedom or Japanese imperialism would reign in Uzu. Both sides were evenly matched in terms of combat strategies even with the extra 1,000 soldiers. Byakuya-sama and Oji-san were worth 1,000 soldiers in their own right as the battle raged both sides experienced man casualties, but it was the joint alliance that was experiencing the most trouble. With the tactical strategy of Shikaku, the vast sealing techniques and jutsu known to the Uzumaki and the x factors of Benimaru and Byakuya the Uzumaki were primed to win this battle." Surya flipped the page and Yoriichi witnessed the image of a group of soldiers falling from the sky, these soldiers were wearing the same uniforms of the assassins he disposed of earlier but behind them was a man whose presence even in the picture screamed of a figure larger than life.
The man was tall carrying the same hat and shakujo of the assassins, but on his face was a tengu mask that only covered the bottom part of the man's face. His glowing red eyes popped out of the image and seemed to stare into Yoriichi's own eyes, the man wore grey pants tucked into black tabi socks and waraji sandals. On top the man wore a black shirt covered by a haramaki chest plate with a dark green feathered cloak over top the man's shoulders. On the newcomer's hip was a long katana with a swastika handguard with a grey cloth wrapped handle.
"The Tenshouin Naraku, are an ancient assassination unit no one knows exactly where it is that they came from or how it is they original formed. But they are known as 'The Messengers of Heaven.' They are nation killers known for destroying countless rebellions and usurpers at the behest of the highest bidder. The man with the tengu mask on is known as the legendary 'Yatagarasu' Benimaru-jisan wrote about him in his journal. He didn't know if he was an ancient Daiyoukai or a human but what he knew was that he was the greatest warrior he ever faced on the battlefield. The man was as if a ghost was on the battlefield, in one blink you saw him and the next you saw nothing." Yoriichi looked to his Kage with a look of apprehension, "An immortal human? I've heard of humans living longer by giving up their humanity or swearing their essence to another being. But for a human to achieve immortality?" Surya nodded his head in agreement with his Hand.
"I believed the same thing when my grandfather told me of that man. In the Shodai's journals it was told that both Benimaru and Byakuya battled against this man and they both unleashed their full arsenal against him. Many of the blows were strikes that even wiped out many of opposing forces but the Tengu would never stop attacking. For every killing blow Benimaru or Byakuya struck on the beast he would stand and kill another 20 Uzumaki soldiers. The beast was a true nation killer if the words of the Shodaime are to be taken as truth in this."
Surya paused and looked out the window noticing that the full moon was up illuminating the village under its soft glow, "When my father was still alive, he explained to me that there are beings in this world that can obliterate an entire nation on a whim, some that can eradicate the world. We shinobi are humans that possess magnificent powers but compared to the monsters that exist in this world we are nothing more than rain falling into the ocean." Surya remembered a quote he read when doing research on the Yatagarasu when he was in his youth.
"It is said when the 'Yatagarasu' descends from heaven to the surface that nations will burn, and history will fall to slumber to forget the tragic madness that is to follow."
Yoriichi stood beside his leader and stared upon the village with him and kept a calm façade much as his leader was doing. Both men were staring at their pride and the reason that they fight, the reason they wake up in the morning leaders and warriors both of them. "We can't overreact to this development Surya; these messengers of heaven were defeated by the Uzumaki once before. If they do wish to return from their graves, then we will pay them the same defeat our ancestors paid them." Finished the Hand with a voice of supreme calm and assuredness in the skills of his leader and soldiers.
"'Win?' The history books that we right and the journal of Benimaru Uzumaki tell two different stories my Lord Hand. But enough for tonight, leave go to your wife and son it's been a long time since they saw you and I shouldn't have taken so much of your time from them. When I have more information on the matter, I will call for you and fill you in on the details." Yoriichi turned from his leader, "Surya rest your mind. It's rare for a leader to sleep well during his reign." With his piece spoken the shadows swallowed the man and took him away from his leader leaving the golden eyed man to stare at the moon. "Benimaru Oji-san your predictions may have been correct, and the heavens may be returning to for vengeance."
From the shadows Yoriichi appeared in front of his home and stared at the home for a moment going over the information that Surya explained to him. 'An immortal assassin? No, he couldn't believe it the existence of such a man was beyond the grasp of human reality. Shinobi and some humans of this world were blessed with such immense abilities and gifts but for a human man to stand the will of time and to achieve immortality it was inconceivable. But if such a man and organization existed then why would they strike at Uzu? What could possibly be gained now?'
As Yoriichi walked through the home and removed his boots he let his hair down and shook his hair to relieve himself from the stress of the day. With every step the adrenaline, stress and history lesson he received weighed him down and made him want to just lay in his bed and sleep. Slowly Yoriichi climbed the stairs of his home usually he would ascend the wooden steps in silence but with his exhaustion the wooden steps creaked under the full weight of the man. Arriving upstairs Yoriichi looked to his right and opened the door and stared at the occupant inside.
A smile crossed the man's face as he witnessed the peaceful resting face of his son. It's been six months since he last saw him, and it was a moment he dreamt of every single day. The boy was a true carbon copy of his old man and it brought a tender smile to Yoriichi's face every day of his mission. "He was upset that you didn't come home in time for dinner, you know. He was waiting anxiously for you to walk through that door and hug you."
"I know that he was, trust me when I say that not getting to taste your cooking was something that made me livid." Yoriichi turned to his left and looked into those beautiful blue eyes that radiated with grace and elegance such a gaze that captured him all those years ago. She glided towards him and leaned into his one-armed embrace resting her head on his chest and contently stared upon their child.
"What kept you so long honey?"
"I was attacked by 6 assassins on my way home. I captured one and report the incident to Surya-sama and that lead to a history lesson that I was not expecting." Kanna raised her head to look into the taller man's eyes with curiosity on what happened. She wasn't concerned of the assassination attempt in the least it would take much more than six foot soldiers to dispatch her husband. He was the strongest fighter in the Uzu military rivaling that of the Uzu-kage she did not question his might in the slightest.
"What do you mean by lesson?" Yoriichi shook his head and softly closed his son's bedroom door. "It was a lesson on the Battle of Asakusa and what exactly transpired that day from the journal of the Shodai himself. That battle didn't go the way that the history books lead us all to believe apparently the Japanese of that battle gained allies in the Eastern youkai faction of Japan and even hired a mercenary assassination unit by the name of the Tenshouin Naraku."
"Enough of all this military and conspiracy talk you just came home and you are already working again. You haven't even given your wife a kiss and welcomed yourself back home. Honestly, such a rude husband I have." Spoke the woman as she pouted and poked her husband in his side. The words brought a thankful smile on the man's face as he realized that the conversation with Surya was him just working again. He was finally home and he would be a fool not to enjoy it.
"I'm home Kanna."
"Welcome home honey.
Review it, speak about, tell your friends about it. Just don't go outside and touch anybody. Goodnight everyone and thank you for reading.
