Deathrooper- part 1

53 after the battle of Yavin

Coruscant- New Republic Center.

Just outside the imperial city in one of the smaller spaceports a battered YT-2400 freighter- 'the pride of tipoca'- began its final descent approach. According to the ship's ID 'the pride of tipoca' was a freighter from the Corellia system bringing in fuel cells for sale. Around 10 metres above the ground, booster rockets under the freighter and dropped the spacecraft onto the landing pad with a hiss. Inside, however, there was not a cargo of fuel cells but a complement of elite troopers. Outside, as the landing ramp began to lower, spaceport staff along with a group of alliance soldiers gathered outside to inspect the craft. The ramp hit the landing pad with a dull thump and five black-clad troopers ran out firing on the spaceport crew, soldiers and civilians alike.

Deathtrooper ISB-8965, also known as Executor within his squadron. Charged down the landing ramp with a Blastech D-98 in each hand he killed an alliance soldier with a shot to the head, shifting his aim to a soldier hiding behind a cargo crate he unleashed a hail of blaster bolts at the crouching soldier. The trooper crumpled as blaster bolts crowded into his head. The alliance troops caught unawares were cut down where they stood or as they tried in vain to stop the Deathtroopers advance, Civilians and ground crew scattered as blaster bolts flew through the air. More troops within the spaceport itself rushed out firing upon the group of the black troopers. However, it was to no avail- years of experience, better equipment and the element of surprise where on the Imperials side. The majority of the enemy troops outside of the spaceport were killed within five minutes after the arrival of the pride of tipoca.

After mowing down the closest alliance soldiers, the Deathtroopers fanned out picking off civilians, groundcrew and the few soldiers outside that fired upon them. Crouching behind a shipping container, as blaster bolts streaked overhead, Deathrooper ISB-9065- also known as Sovereign, twisted a thermal detonator. The Deathtrooper then rushed out of cover and threw the thermal detonator at an E-web repeating blaster manned by two alliance soldiers. There was a flash of light and the E-web blew up. All that remained was a blackened pile of plastic and metal. Across the spaceport, the Deathtroopers crushed resistance with ease. The guards, who were poorly trained and equipped conscripts were slaughtered by elite Deathtroopers with years of combat training and experience in the field.

In a corridor just outside the command centre, a group of particularly enthusiastic soldiers, with an energy shield had pinned down one of the five Deathtroopers with heavy blaster fire. Turning the corner ISB-8765, also known as Assertor charged down the corridor spraying the space ahead with blaster bolts. These were all fired from a nasty looking multi-barreled blaster. The shield flared as blaster bolt hit it and then disappeared completely. As the onslaught of blaster bolts overloaded the alliance troopers behind the shield crumpled, dead. The two Deathtroopers than kicked down the door of the command centre and entered.

Within they found the commander of the spaceport and numerous aides scrambling around trying to call for reinforcements and help. When the commander saw the pair of Deathtroopers standing in the doorway, he pulled a pistol out of a holster with shaky hands and fired one shot at the Deathtroopers. The bullet hit the shoulder of one of them sending ISB-8865 Eclipse and sent her sprawling on the floor from the force of the impact; however, her armour had stopped the round from going through into bone so she had escaped permanent damage. Standing up again she shot the commander in the head. Even before his body had hit the ground she had shot the rest of the occupants of the room. She then left the room closely followed by Assertor.

The five Deathtroopers met up on the other side of the complex and boarded an airspeeder. The airspeeder rose repulsors whining and joined the endless streams of traffic above. Below as the airspeeder gained height thermal detonators spread around the complex started their arming sequences and exploded. The remaining military personnel and anybody left in the spaceport was instantly killed by the shockwave. The now rapidly expanding cloud of superheated gas and rubble created an expanding wall of death. Coruscant emergency services predicted over 7,500 dead and possibly 50,000 injured.

In the airspeeder, Eclipse smiled as she took off her helmet, as commander of the 65th Deathtrooper squadron she discussed the next move against the galactic alliance. The rest of her squad: Assertor(ISB-8765), Executor(ISB-8965), Sovereign(ISB-9065) and Praetor(ISB-9165) all listened and then prepared themselves for the next part of the mission. The beginning of the end of the Galactic alliance.
