Prologue (A Dimmesdale Mystery)

"Alright class, which one of you solved the problem on the board!" Mr Crocker was furious that his math problem had been solved. "I was going to make you brats attempt to solve this ridiculous problem, so I didn't have to teach you. So how did it?" The man was fuming, as he looked across the room, it was a selection problem, and everyone in the class was deadly silent. "Fine then if you fess up to solving this problem I'll give you an A!" Sweat was forming down the kids, but it wasn't as many suspects as he had. Timmy Turner, and some of his friends weren't smart enough to solve the problem. And Trixie Tang just sat silently watching the entire catastrophe take place.

"Wait a minute." Aj said, and Crocker turned his head, "I've been trying to solve this problem for weeks now. And the solution is right. Why did you give the class the Dimmesdale Tricksdale?" Aj asked and Crocker could only sigh, of course the classroom's prodigy was the one who figured what he was trying to do. Give the class an unsolvable math problem, and watch as they failed miserably to solve it.

"Wait." Crocker walked over to his desk, and pulled out a piece of paper, and went over the math problem. Everyone in the class was looking at the board, and Crocker and Aj who were going nuts. "How?" He looked around, so that kicked out Aj from solving the problem, then who was it. And then a dubious thought emerged on his face, and he wrote the problem all over again, and shut his desk. The entire class had broken down into chatter, Timmy Turner was muttering his inanimate objects.

"Alright class!" And everyone went silent, and Trixie could only roll her eyes and turned back towards him. It was well known the popular kids didn't like him, "I have a proposition for you. If anyone would fess up or someone reports the individual you get an A. And they get an F! So go around and find this individual who solved this math problem."

Trixie spoke out loud, "So you want us to find a person who solved a really easy math problem? So you can give them an F, for solving it? What a waste of time." And the entire classroom turned towards the girl who could only shrug her shoulders.

"Oh Ms Tang, and were you the one who solved this problem?"

"Yes I totally solved that really easy problem," Trixie said with sarcasm in her voice, "When it uses really basic equations you taught us last year! Cause I totally spend my time doing mathematics." Trixie sighed, "No I didn't solve this stupid problem, I was hanging out with my friends." Crocker looked at her suspiciously, but didn't say anything and walked away from her, and thought for a moment. "If you really want to find the kid who solved it, just put a bunch of theses dumb equations around school And catch them in the act."

"What a brilliant idea Ms. Tang."
