Chapter 1, a not so lonely road

A boy was walking down a road having lost his way, he did not know where he was, so he did the logical thing and walked down the path that he had been following for the past couple of hours. He was tired of walking and hadn't seen a single person since he'd left Hateno village, the place where he lived. It was strange, really strange since there were always at least one or two travelers on the road.
He was so deep in thought that he didn't even hear when someone asked: "excuse me but we were just wondering if you had any food."
"Huh?" he said looking up surprised to see a girl who was about seventeen with a long purple ponytail looking at him with four others and a blue cat trailing behind.
"I said, we were wondering if you had any food," she repeated looking a little annoyed.
"Don't bother him Em!" said another girl maybe a little older with really pretty scarlet hair. "Sorry to bother you"
"It's alright, it's nice to see people for a change." the boy responded
Another girl with shoulder-length hair looked at him weirdly. "There was a whole town full of people a couple of miles back."
This made the boy extremely confused, since (again) he hadn't seen anyone for hours.
A boy walked over and extended his hand, "hi the name's Natsu. The weird girl with the purple hair is Em short for Ember, the scary one with the scarlet hair' name is Erza, the blonde is Lucy, the cat's name is Happy, and finally, the pervy looking one is Grey."
"I'm not pervy looking!" Grey exclaimed
"So, what's your name?" Natsu said ignoring him
"My name is Link," the boy said.
"Well, Link ya have any food?" Em asked for the third time.
"Oh my gosh, could you just stop with the food already!" Erza said.
"Wait, Link you have food," Natsu said.
"Not you too Natsu!" Lucy said.
"Um, if you guys want I do have food," Link said.
Em and Natsu gasped. "Don't encourage them." Erza said, "they'll probably eat everything you have and still be hungry."
Link shrugged, and to their shock, he pulled two plates with a piece of steak on each of them from a small bag attached to his belt. "Here, I hope this will do."
"Oh my freaking gosh Link, I love you!" Em said excitedly
"How did you do that?" Grey asked.
Link just shrugged again, "it's nothing special"
"NOTHING SPECIAL!" Lucy yelled, "you just pulled food out of thin air!"
"Actually," Happy said speaking up for the first time, "he pulled it out of his pocket."
"Same difference," she replied angrily
"Well, we should probably get going if we're going to make it back before dark," Erza said.
"Uh, if you wouldn't mind me asking," link said, "but do you know if Hyrule castle is anywhere near here."
"What castle?" Em asked.
"You know, Hyrule castle. The big castle in the middle of Hyrule."
"No I don't know what a Hyrule is and I don't know where the castle is either," Em said
Link frowned, "there must be some mistake, Hyrule is the place where all the Hylian are from, and you certainly look Hylian, well except for one thing."
"What's that one thing, Link?"
Link frowned as if just noticing something, "well… you guys don't have pointed ears."
