Frostmarris: here is where it happeend, the unthinkable. Oskan Witchfather and Thirrin Lindelshield and their daughters and sons readied the defenses against the newest invasion from the Polypontian Empire.

Many years have passed since that last fateful incursion from the believed badass Scipio Bellorum and his armies. Bellorum's own sons Octravius and Sulla have accompanied him this time, respected commanders themselves.

Dcharlemagne was beseeching aid in the far south, Cedric and Eadran assembled elite companies of housecarls, Medea woke from untold reahes of sorcery, and Cressida lay tightly tied up and gagged in her bed, wriggling slightly against her ropes and trying to peel the moist gag away with her tongue. In truth Alric Kent, a captain of thegns, had trussed and silenced the princess, this done at their desire.

Elswhere, the Vampire King and Queen succumbed to a coup; the culprits displayed the severed ammonia heads near the banners above their fortress.

DSulla Bellorum met with the Snow Leopards today, surreptiigotuly, udner a flag of truce.

'You are the Scipio cub. We took your father's measure years ago, and we stood in awe. Tell us: are you a refledtion of your father?' said the Snow Leopards of duplicity and leukemia. Sulla nodded, and Tharaman-Thar's eviscerated carcass hung mute some distance away, a monument to the betrayal. Sulla's grandfather Cronus watched from his perch on the horizon, and he noticed all was going according to his millennia-old plots.

Let's take a look at Oskan, his fuliginous hair sodden with sweat from his liaison with Thirrin. He descended the stairs to Medea's chamber. As for Medea herself, she prepared herself for the coming struggle. Oskan came into the room as a tempest, and the pretentious girl cackled and crooked a finger at the man.

'Well, well, Daddy Dear! I'm in league with Grandfather Cronus, have been for awhile, and without further ado you die.' She spit a spell and sprang upon the man, who hoisted her into the air and snapped her neck. Then her spirit rose and made to menace Osksn, but the fellow swept it away. Even with Medea neutralized as a threat, the Bellorums werre very near, Frostmarris was gripped by panic, the Snow Leopards and Undead were in league with the Polypontians, and Cedric died containing a barn fire in the city.

The histories remembered Alric Kent as a credible sentinel and future King of Icemark. He wedded Cressida, although the young woman was tightly bound and gagged during the proceedings, and after the celebration, he buried Cedric's remains with his own hands, fought Cronus to a standstill on the mountains, sbudued the Snow Leopards with a small foray of forty men, slew the leaders of the Undead Conspiracy in an espionage mission, and avenged his friend Tharaman-Thar.

'Trust Captain Kent,' said Thirrin and Oskan, and all at once a hush fell over everyone, and such was their reverence that they cupped their hands before them high into the air and and looked off into the cloudless sky with bulging eyes and mouths drooped open.

But Cronus returned in fire and wrath, and he slew many, then fell upon Thirrin and knocked her to the ground, wounding her. Oskan cried out and rushed to attend to Lindendhsield. Kent duelled Cronus for a time, and when it seemed the latter was beginnning to gain the upper hand, Eadran camer in behind and stabbed Cronus in the back with a boot knife. Cronus bellowed and smote the prince with the last of his strenght, half-tearing the fellow's head off his shoulders as they both died.

The shockwaves from Cronus' death struck the host of Polypontium within secons, decimated them utterly and ripped Scipio and Octavius Bellorum in half. As far away as Charlemagne, people felt the reverberations. They guessed at what happened.

Oskan contained the blast locally as best he could, but dozens were slain in Frostmarris. There were many matters to attend to in the following weeks: Oskan and Thirrin recuperated in the palace, Eadran and the deceased were buried, the city's damage was repaired, Sulla Beollorum rallied the remnants of his host and marched on Frostmarris, but the Snow Leopards came upon them unawares and slaughtered them. Sulla himself was trampled by his fleeing comrades and slain and the molecules disappeared from his body at the instant of his demise.

'This is a great victory,' said Charlemagne. Cressida was heard to agree.

Thirrin and Oskan healed in time and called for a festival to celebrate the second victory over the Polypontian Empire. Alric Kent danced with his wife Cressida, Thirrin and Oskan retured, and everyone hollered.

The end.
