This will be my entry for the Castle Ficathon 2020 starting today. Updating will be the same as in every Sunday but with the COVID-19 pandemic happening all over the country my time could be limited. This story is also based on a movie from the '80s and I will leave it up to you the reader to figure out which one it is. While it follows some of the initial movie plot there will be a twist midway through the story. I hope that you enjoy this and it passes some of the time in your day.

November 20th, 2014,
He had always supported the men and women who defended our country. Be it a fundraiser or a simple reading with a select few people who donated a boatload of cash to his cause. He would never stop honoring the men and women of the armed forces. He always wanted to serve but by the time he had his first bestseller under his belt, he became a little too old to give his country the time to serve. This is one situation he regrets wholeheartedly.
He sits at his desk in his high back chair and reads the brochure he received in the mail from The Department of Defense. He has been a staunch supporter of the United States Navy for as long as he can remember and when he did donate his funds, he donated them to a specific cause. The USS Nimitz (CVN-68) has been in service for the last forty-seven years and the DOD was thinking about retiring the supercarrier for a more up to date carrier. The USS John F. Kennedy (CVN-79) is that ship. It's faster, more weaponized, and can support crew of 4,660 men and women and can house more than eighty aircraft in its air wing. But he likes the fact he grew up with the Nimitz. Its keel was laid a year after he was born. And by the time it was launched two years later he had mastered the art of walking, talking, and almost had a full mouth of teeth.
He puts the letter back down on his desk and opens up his calendar on his laptop. He knows that he has some meetings and other obligations to tend to, so he doesn't know if he'll get the time, but he needs to go to Pearl Harbor. The invitation is open for the week of December fifth through the thirteenth. He leans back in his chair and thinks about what to do. At this point, he is wanting to go because the money that is donated to the Nimitz preservation fund equals close to ten million dollars. He was approached by the committee to keep the Nimitz at Pearl and he would do anything to make that dream come true. If he has his way the USS Nimitz will be permanently docked at Pearl. From there it will be likely turned into a museum which is what he's hoping for. What the Department of Defense wants to do is dismantle it for scrap. That will never do. The Nimitz was the first of its kind and he wants to make sure it stays an icon in Naval history.
Kate stares at her phone and reads the text she received from Castle for the third time. She was in the shower when the first message came through and after a long hard day and she doesn't want to deal with Castle right now. All she wants to do is sit in her comfy chair with a nice glass of merlot and just vegetate. But of course, he could not stop texting her and she, of course, had to read what he sent. She decides that more wine will be needed to figure out what in God's name he wants now.
He thought of her first. By the time he had texted her, he thought he might be intruding but they were sharing things now, things that went beyond being partners at the twelfth. He just needed her to answer him.
The fifth alert pings on her phone telling her that Castle has left yet another message. She walks back to her comfy chair and settles in with her phone and a much needed second glass of wine. The first message she reads proves to her that he is still the nine-year-old on a sugar rush.
"I know something you don't!"
Kate just skipped that message for the next one.
"Can little Katie come out and play?"
He is trying to get a rise out of her. He knows she hates it when anyone other than her father uses her childhood name, so she skips that one too.
"Beckett, I'm sorry for calling you, Katie. But I need you to answer my texts."
Good. At least he knows that he is in the doghouse… a little.
"Kate? Are you okay?"
Now he's worried about her. If she doesn't answer he'll call her next. No sooner had she finished that thought her phone vibrated in her hand. His smiling face came up on the screen. God, she'll never get over those blue eyes of his.
"Beckett." She said as she answered the call.
"Kate?"
"Rick?"
"Still mad at the Katie crack?"
"I'm over it, but a word to the wise… never use it again…. Or else."
"I won't I promise."
"So what is so important that it could not wait until tomorrow when we see each other at the precinct?"
"It could have waited but I needed to tell you now. How would you like to get away for a week of fun in the sun?"
"Ahh, I'm not sure. What did you have in mind, the Hamptons?"
"No something more tropical."
"How tropical?" She remembers the last time he wanted to take her somewhere tropical early on in their relationship. When they arrived at their getaway, all they saw was the inside of their suite and the resort's restaurant. It rained the entire time they were there.
"Kate, I promise it won't be like the last time," Rick assures.
"Alright if you promise. I could use some time away. What did you have in mind?"
"As you know I am one of the committee members who are trying to save the USS Nimitz from being dismantled. What we want to do is turn into a floating museum a lot like the USS Intrepid is at pier 86. The committee has asked me and my family, namely you and Alexis to attend a fundraiser to do just that."
"Okay, where?"
"We'll be staying at the Hilton Grand Islander on Oahu. It's not far from Ford Island and Hickam field."
"Rick that's great. But how long will we need to spend with this committee of yours? I mean we are going to be able to go to the beach and sightseeing, right?"
"I don't have the itinerary just yet. The most we will spend is at least a day taking care of the committee's needs. C'mon Kate it'll be fun!"
She was reluctant to agree but a week in Hawaii sounded like heaven. Now all she had to do was call Lanie to see if she could arrange a shopping trip so she could get a new bikini or two.
The second Rick had shown interest in going to Hawaii the Nimitz committee sends him a brief schedule so he could alter just where and what he wanted to see while he was there. They never thought they would get a man of his fame and caliber for their fundraiser and on top of that, they were getting the inspiration for Nikki Heat as well. Rick's looked over the itinerary found out that they were going to take a very short cruise on the Nimitz one last time before it was docked at Pearl again for good. He would love this! Being out on one of his favorite war machines, there was nothing better.
Kate had cleared her work schedule so she could go to Hawaii. At first Captain Montogromery wondered if something was going on between the two them and she told him that it was a trip just between friends. Later she and Lanie had gone to different stores and finally found a store that had exactly what she wanted. It was more of a thong than it was a bikini, but she loved it. It had leather strips that held a tiny piece of fabric to cover her private parts, but it showed off most of her ass. When Castle sees her wearing this, he will have a heart attack. They had just enough time to grab a bite to eat before they parted ways.
