This is a short story I came up with randomly. It first started with a what-if and ended with a full-blown out story. The chapters will be fairly short, which may hopefully help me post for it more often. Anyway, I am very excited to share this story I came up with and I hope guys all like it! -Sahlo Folina
PS- for all your information, to make this story work, I've taken it into my own artistic liberty to place this rendition of the episode Gorizila in a different time than what is shown in the actual series. What I mean is, for example, Adrien already knows Kagami and already has a season 3 type relationship, and Marinette is already the guardian (but she is not with Luka). There might be a couple of other things that the characters might not necessarily have experienced technically yet in the episode, but just bear with me and enjoy the story!
"Jump, Adrien! Quick!"
Adrien was sitting in the hand of his akumatized bodyguard. He had tried to sneak out of his sorry excuse for a house earlier that day to try and see a movie his mother had stared in so long ago. This was the only time the theatre was playing it, and he highly doubted his father would let him watch it if he asked, although he did try. Sneaking out, however, came with its own set of problems, including being chased by crazed fans and hunted by his loyal bodyguard. His miracle of the day had been his raven-haired friend Marinette, who helped him hide from both his fans and bodyguard and helped him sneak into the theatre. She was amazing! He desperately hoped she was ok, he hadn't seen her since the appearance of the Akuma.
Anyway, his bodyguard, in the shape of a giant blue gorilla, had apparently found him within the theatre, grabbed him, and had not let him go since. Because of this, Cat Noir had not been able to make an appearance, even though he desperately needed to help his beloved Ladybug.
He was now on the palm of one of the Akuma's giant hand, while the gorilla's thumb was being pried from the tight grasp (with his lady's yo-yo) that he once had on Adrien. Ladybug told him to jump, but they were on a high building, very high off the ground, and the large hand was hanging over the ledge. Adrien hesitated as he looked down into the abyss below, thinking about every bad situation that could happen if he did fall that far down. Now, he wouldn't call himself afraid of heights, but jumping off this building could definitely cause some issues. Especially without his super suit! He gulped the saliva in the back of his throat.
"You have to trust me!" Ladybug's statement seemed to snap him back to reality. Of course he trusted her! He trusted her since day one!
"Alway!" Adrien responded with a Cat Noir smirk plastered on his face. He jumped to what normal people would call certain death, but instead of facing it with fear, he faced it while giving a joyous cry! "Yeah-ha!"
Ladybug went after the boy of her dreams but was immediately halted in her efforts. She looked down and realized the same large hand that once gripped the blond-haired model, had his firm grip around her. In a panicked gasp, Ladybug yelled a "No!"
Wind whipped through Adrien's blond locks as he tumbled to the ground. His smile was still on his face, he didn't want to admit that the bit of wait Ladybug was causing him was making him a bit nervous. Plagg didn't mind admitting his thoughts though.
"If you don't transform soon, you might wind up like a gooey pile of Camembert!" Plagg commented.
"I can't, Plagg! Not in the open like this!" Adrien pointed out. Even though he constantly daydreamed of his Lady knowing who he was behind the mask, he was not ready to let everyone else know yet. He couldn't even imagine how his already overprotective father would act if he found out he was sneaking constantly to battle supervillains. Little did this innocent ray of sunshine know that if his father did know, he would do a lot more than be worried for him. Then Adrien added "I'm sure Ladybug has a plan. I trust her!"
Plagg looked up at the spotted hero clutched in the Akuma's hand above them, and the crazy fan bellow running around in circles shouting "Don't be scared, Adrien! I'm gonna catch you!". He then gave Adrien a look that screamed Gee, kid, I really hope you're right.
A couple more moments passed and Ladybug was still clutched in Gorzilla's hands, Adrien was still falling, and the fans were getting more and more anxious. At this point, Adrien's smile was completely dissolved in his fear of death or giving away his identity, and Ladybug was near tears as she cried pleadingly for Cat Noir to come and save Adrien before he hit the ground. Gorizilla, who was Adrien's bodyguard, akumatized or not, made a worried grunt as he leaned over to try to save the boy for himself, but a cold command cut him off.
"No, Gorizilla! Do not make any attempt to save him!" Hawkmoth told him. "He's Cat Noir! I know he is! Let him prove it to the world!" He then laughed an evil cackle that no father should ever make as their son is falling to their death.
Now Ladybug is really in tears. She cried for the boy who she asked to trust her, and it only lead to his death. The perfect boy. The boy who never deserved any less than the best, and she killed him! She hated herself for it as she choked on her own salty tears.
Adrien watched the ground inch closer and closer with fear written all over his face. It was now or never. He opened his mouth, ready to gag out his transformation phrase. This was it. This was the last day of his freedom. He would never be able to anything without permission again. Either his dad would ground him for eternity, or Ladybug would take his miraculous away. Whatever came first, it would happen. He braced himself for his fan's reactions below, but before he could say anything, he was shoved into the building by a surprisingly strong force and broke through the window and crashing inside the tall piece of architecture.
"No!" cried Hawkmoth in defeat. "He was so close!"
"Wow!" one of Adrien's devoted fans cried. "What was that?"
"I have no idea!" cried another.
"Hey! I caught it on video!" said still another.
All the fans then crowded around that one fan to look at the footage on his phone, but as they studied the incident over and over, they couldn't see a thing. It was like an invisible ghost suddenly shoved him into the glass to save him from his death, there was no other explanation! Or was there...
Plagg.
Scratched and bruised from the impact of crashing through a window, Adrien lay on an abandoned floor of the building he was falling off of just seconds ago. Yes, he was more hurt than he could be, but his identity and life were saved! That made the pain worth it. He looked over one of his shoulders to find Plagg lying on the floor looking at the ceiling in a daze.
"Thanks, Plagg." Adrien breathed, relieved.
"No problem, kid. I know how much Cat Noir means to you."
"Well," Adrien started. He tried standing up and he found he had a bit of a limp in one of his legs. "I guess, we should transform to help Ladybug now. Huh."
"Yeah." agreed Plagg. Still partly in a daze. "I guess we should."
Ladybug was released from Gorizilla's hand after Adrien crashed through the building. She was grateful to all the stars in the universe that he wasn't dead. However, he also hit the window pretty hard and she was worried he still ended up hurt. She flung herself over the building and used her yo-yo to get into the gaping hole.
On arriving, she was welcomed to a flash of bright green light. It went as soon as it came, and her eyes met her cat-like partner's where the emerald green of Adrien's should be. Both their eyes grew very wide. Cat Noir just realized he was caught transforming and was mentally punishing himself for being so careless. And Ladybug, well, she just realized that Cat Noir, well... was um...
"Adrien?"
