Caught in time

Chapter 1

The end is only the beginning

"What's wrong, what's wrong now? So many So many problems…" She held the mike in her shaky hands and tried to finish the lyrics as elegantly as possible. Her final words of the song echoed as the spot light dimmed down. The normal soft light were back as she looked up at the crowd as they all clapped and cheered for her and her friends on stage. The soft lights reflected on them and then upon the host, which came from the side of the stage.

"Okay ladies and gentleman; let's give another round of applause for Southern Avenue" The man with a short pony tail and a dark blue suit has concluded for them. There was a short pause as he glanced back up after putting the mike back. He moved towards the mike on the stand and said "And now for the final act of the night, let me introduce you to "Dragon's blade". He spoke the last words and disappeared behind the curtains with a smirk spread across his face. He was now in baggy jeans and a black shirt with a bit of blue print on the front. The lead singer wore black and red whilst the drummer of the group wore black with a hint of green. Their song began by Miroku playing the guitar and starting of the song then Kouga followed by playing the drums. The intensity of their song grew and then it slowed down to the actual words. His voice was angelic and the main focus of the room. Inuyasha glanced down away from the light. The guitarist then took it away and the sound echoed through the speakers. Everyone was in a world of their own completely mesmerised.

"Where's Miliana?"

"I don't know. I can't see her anywhere."

The two girls stumbled across, trying to get pass the crowd while calling out for their friend. Jackie, the girl in yellow, tugs on her friends' jersey motioning her towards the 3rd exit. The two friends finally reach a bit of space and cool air. The music of the band echoes in the background.

"I think I saw her. She was walking with a very tall guy, one who we never saw before".

"That's not unusual. She is always with guys. Cut her some slack."

"I got a bad feeling about this" Jackie looks towards the side of the building where her friend went in uncertainty.

"OK…enough with the face. Let's go check".

The ally way not so far from the building glowed with purple light. He held her by her hair exposing the cuts upon her neck…obviously new ones. Above him was a creature…one that they never saw before. They both watched their friend in pain and agony. The negative energy was so heavy it almost felt draining. They needed help. They took a few steps back into the building to call the police, hoping that in that time they were gone that their friend would be okay. They got an immediate response and went to wait where it was safe. By the timing the police came her body was left on the ground with scars behind her neck and bruises on her leg. More help was requested. As they were about to be questioned Kim was caught by her friend. She was given medical attention as well. The police requested the entire area to be investigated and blocked off until further notice. Jackie accompanied them and provided the necessary details.

"Let's give a round of applause for Dragon's Blade"

"So that concludes our benefit concert, I would like to thank you all for attending …and have a good night"

The cloud claps as another background song plays.

"I guess it's time to go. You can always see him tomorrow" Sango nudged her friend as they both walked out of there. The air grew colder as they made their way to the car.

The two girls went silent as they saw a person in a cloak come from behind a dumpster and disappear into thin air. Kagome and Sango could not help but think this person's aura and energy felt awfully familiar.

In the hospital Miliana and Kim regained consciousness, however, Jackie walked in to find Miliana praying. She also said: "It was like an abyss, I think I imagined everything."

Jackie: "Well, you need your story when the police come"

Miliana: "Why did you call the police?"

Jackie: "Why should I have not…you looked like you were in danger and that man- what was that thing…also Kim blacked out" Her sentence was stammered.

Miliana: "Is she okay?"

Jackie: "She woke up now. I should probably go check on her"

[Exits room]

Miliana rubs her arm and finds marks on her wrist as if she had bracelets on too long. Her palms become cold as she stares at the blanket. Everything around her goes black and then she sees a staircase with a detailed railing. The man held his hand out. She had an urge to go to him but her subconscious state was broken when her parents touched her. 'How would she explain this to them' she thought. She dug deep down and explained to her parents and the police ever so calmly; after all acting was her best ability. She told them it was a guy she met and he ran off after she hit him for trying to abuse her. She looked down sorrowful. Her parents however, were blinded by what their only child had to say. They asked the police officer to leave as she is in too much shock to answer anything. She denied any questions asked and told her that they did not see anything.

The following night Miliana climbed into bed, trying to push away the events of the day. She laid her head down and covered her head with the blanket. She then heard a voice whispering "I still want your powers" She said "For the last time I don't know what you are talking about". The voice came closer and said "but we need you alive…hmm". He caught her wrist and then disappeared through the open window. Miliana opened her eyes to see everything still locked and no sign of anyone except for a mark left on her wrist.

"I need help"

She jumps out of bed and get ready to go school.

Her parents tell her that everything that happened will stay on a low profile for her own good. Their precious daughter to other people but once everyone turns back the emptiness fills the atmosphere.

She grabbed her bag and put her shoes on and took a walk to school. Apparently there was an accident on the way. The man facing the camera looked startled and was shaking from head to toe. He talked about a shadow and a creature floating next to him.

Miliana brushed this aside and continued walking until she heard the elderly man say "He seeks vengeance and power, and will stop at nothing. He wants-". "Okay and that is as much as we can say for now. Stay safe out there".

Miliana hid her face and went at a faster pace towards the school. She felt uneasy…too uneasy. A last minute trip perhaps to the temple would do some good. She walked to the shrine and on the way saw a girl run out. ' She was probably late' Miliana thought to herself.

She stops halfway. The air is growing heavier once again and her body feels weighed down. The eerie voice felt closer than before and her surroundings turned to black.

Authors note: Hope ya enjoyed this. It was a lot thrown into one chapter, I know. Feedback would really be helpful. I plan on making this very different from other ones I may write. I'm writing fan fiction after a really long time and it's good to be back, I guess; also sorry for not adding the main characters straight away. I also maybe write myself in at some point.
