I'm really sorry Rebound is taking so long. I'll get it figured out ASAP.

In the meantime, enjoy.

I don't own anything.

...

The whole debacle had begun with a silly argument that turned very heated. Of course, since it was those two, it didn't surprise anyone.

Unfortunately, the feud never got resolved.

It was now a few days before Christmas, and Fanny and Patton still hadn't talked things out.

A meeting was held at the TND secret base among their friends to try to figure out what to do.

"This has got to stop!" Nigel exclaimed, "They've been at it for two months over some petty squabble that nobody even remembers anymore!"

Kuki pouted, "Yeah, it's almost Christmas! They're really souring the holiday joy! Why can't they just kiss and make up already?"

"'Kiss and make up'?" Wally repeated, "Hey, Kooks! You might just be onto something!"

"What's that?"

"What if we tricked then into kissing under the mistletoe? We've all seen how their feuds normally end, with them being all sorry and bashful and then getting all steamed up if you know what I mean. What do you guys think?"

Rachel thought for a moment, "You might have a point there."

"Now hold on." Abby chimed in, "Wouldn't it be easier if we convinced them to talk things out and resolve this thing by communicating?"

Everyone looked at her as if that were the stupidest thing they'd ever heard.

"Abs," responded Hoagie, "I don't know if you've noticed, but we've been trying that for two months straight and they still won't budge. All in favor of trying it again?"

Nothing.

"All in favor of Wally's idea?"

Everyone raised their hands.

Abby rolled her eyes and raised her hand too.

...

That night, they started decorating for the TND's upcoming Christmas party.

A small branch of mistletoe was hung above the doorway to the kitchen, which was where the whole scene would take place.

The refreshment table was nearby, covered by a tablecloth.

Underneath the table, the six teenage spies lay in wait.

Wally had his phone out to record the whole thing. Well, the audio at least.

Fanny had been in the kitchen, and Patton had just arrived.

Nigel had texted him to meet him in the kitchen when he arrived.

Kuki had texted Fanny to come out of the kitchen.

The collision was predicted to happen in three...

Two...

One.

SMACK!

"WATCH WHERE YOUR GOIN' YOU STUPID BOY!"

"SHUT UP! YOU'RE THE ONE THAT BUMPED INTO ME!"

"OH THAT'S RIGHT! BLAME IT ALL ON ME, BECAUSE THAT'S ALL YOU EVER DO AND KNOW HOW TO DO RIGHT!"

"OH YEAH!? AND WHAT DO YOU EVER DO, HUH?! YOU'RE ALWAYS SCREAMING AT ME IN THAT SCREECHY SHRILL SHRIEK OF YOURS!"

"WELL YOU ALWAYS SHOUT IN THAT BIG BOOMING VOICE! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW ANNOYING IT IS!?"

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH I WANNA CUT MY EARS OFF EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU RAISE YOUR VOICE?!"

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW RUDE YOU ARE?!"

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW UNGRATEFUL YOU ARE?!"

"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW YOU MAKE ME FEEL?!"

"NO I DON'T! BECAUSE YOU NEVER TELL ME! YOU PREFER TO INSULT ME AND YELL AT ME AND ALL SORTS OF CRUD! DO YOU THINK IT'S EASY LIVING LIKE THAT?!"

"WELL YOU NEVER OPEN UP TO ME! AND DON'T GIVE ME THAT STUPID 'IT'S A GUY THING' EXCUSE! YOU KNOW BETTER THAN THAT, PATTON! YOU'RE NOT LIKE EVERY OTHER GUY ON EARTH AND YOU KNOW IT!"

"YEAH?! WELL YOU NEED TO STOP USING BEING A GIRL AS AN EXCUSE FOR EVERYTHING BECAUSE YOU AREN'T LIKE EVERY OTHER GIRL! SO WHY DON'T YOU JUST TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL RIGHT NOW AND I'LL TELL YOU HOW I FEEL!? DEAL?!"

"DEAL!"

They both quieted and Fanny took a deep breath.

"I feel..." she began, trying to find the right words, "I feel... bad. I feel bad about... going this long without talking to you except to say something nasty. The only reason I didn't stop was... because of me stupid pride. I thought that I wanted to win the fight... but that isn't true. I just want it to end. I did feel angry with you when I thought you weren't listening to me. It was because I felt hurt. But now, I only feel angry at meself for letting it get in the way of how I feel about you. How I always feel about you. What I'm trying to say is... I love you, Patton... and I'm very sorry for hurting you."

Patton sighed and gave her a small smile, "I'm sorry too, Fanny. I should've been more considerate of your feelings. It was wrong of me to choose trying to be right over trying to make things right. If I had swallowed my pride and apologized a lot sooner, we wouldn't have gone so long being mean to each other. I've been feeling pretty nasty about it lately myself. I felt guilty because a part of me knew that I was being insensitive and it hurt you, and I'm sorry I hurt you. I love you, and I don't want to hurt you again."

Fanny's eyes filled up with tears and she threw herself forward, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend.

She beamed as he returned the hug.

"Let's never let a silly little fight get in the way of our relationship again..." Patton smirked, "Fannypants."

"Really?" Fanny deadpanned.

"You know you love me."

She rolled her eyes and then paused when she got a glimpse of the aphrodisiac plant above them.

That was when it clicked.

"Oh no," she grumbled, "they didn't. They seriously didn't."

Patton pulled away, confused, and followed her gaze.

"Oh," he responded, "I see. I'd say that's not cool, but I'm actually glad they tricked us like that."

Fanny looked at him, confused.

"Well," he explained, "if they hadn't, we wouldn't have been able to talk things out and make up."

She nodded, "Yeah. But you know, the phrase isn't 'talk and make up'..."

"...It's 'kiss and make up'."

"Well, what are we waiting for?"

Without another word, the couple locked lips, relaxing into each other's touch and letting the anger, hurt, pride and guilt melt away.

And give way to love.

...

...

"Guess we were both right, Abby." Wally said, "They talked things out, then kissed and made up."

"Yeah," Abby replied, "Abby's sure glad that whole thing is solved. Maybe now we can have some peace-"

"TOOTS?!"

Everyone jumped when they heard Fanny's shrill voice, followed by a series of rapid footsteps, indicating that the redhead was now chasing her boyfriend around the room.

Not that he seemed to mind, because they could also hear him laughing as he ran from her.

Nigel sighed, "Well, at least they're getting a good chunk of energy out. Let's just hope they calm down and make peace for real. Otherwise, something tells me that it's going to be a long Christmas, and not a very merry one."

...

You just had to make her mad again. Didn't you, Patton?

Don't flame.

The main reason this was set around Christmastime was because I wanted to write a mistletoe gag. I might actually do that again during the holiday season.
