"Why do you want to go home?"

The voice was so condescending and so cruel. Amity did not want to respond to such vindictiveness. So she stayed silent.

"Come on. You can tell me. What's calling for you on that barren planet?"

Again, Amity bit her tongue. She was sick of the questioning and manipulation.

"You know he's not waiting for you, right?"

Amity's eyes shot forward to now make eye contact with the person throwing such inaccurate assumptions.

He's not waiting? Was he trying to say that Poe was not waiting for her? That was by far his worst attempt at getting under her skin. She knew Poe wouldn't even get a moment of rest until he found her.

"You really think he's up worrying himself sick over you?"

Amity cursed herself for thinking about it. She had to stop giving this man more ammunition to use against her.

"He's not worried. He's relieved. In fact...he's already moved on-"

"You're wrong!" Amity couldn't stop herself from yelling out.

The man stopped, and gave her a small smile.

"You don't sound too sure..."

Amity bit her tongue.

"I went into his mind too, you know? I dug into every thought he ever had. And I saw you. I met you. I knew you through his mind. And I knew what he thought of you. Do you want to know what he thinks of you? Do you want to know what emotion pops up when given your name?"

Amity took a deep breath. She did want to know. But she wasn't willing to ask.

"You don't need to ask. I can just tell you."

She waited, no longer able to think of anything else.

"Convenience."

Silence.

"Your convenient to him. That's all. There was no love, not even overwhelming fondness. You are just very convenient to him. And that's why he stills wants you."

Amity didn't say a word. Not because she didn't want to. But because she couldn't. She didn't dare to speak.

The thoughts in her head couldn't even bare to form sentences.

The man came closer to her. Now standing directly in front of her. He had to crouch down to meet her eyes, for his tall stature had almost 10 inches on her.

"You want to go home so bad..but they don't want you there. They just see you as another fighter to thrown into combat. You're no one there. You'll never be anybody they want or respect. For the rest of your life you will be someone that's expendable."

"But not here. Not to me."
