They had won.
It had been nearly six months since Salem had been bested. They don't know who had put her down. They had gotten so good with working together it was like they were one person. Jaune was always there to shield Ruby, and her there to follow up with her bastard of a scythe. They worked so well that Salem could barely land a hit while they laid blow after well practiced blow.
But none of that mattered now. It had been five years since they became best friends; It had been three since they became lovers. Their relationship had some ups and downs. Like the time he was kidnapped by Tyrian on their anniversary or when Yang drunkenly accused Jaune of cheating on Ruby with Scarlet. Yang still gets embarrassed when she is in the same room as the "Butt Pirate" as she called him.
They had gone through all of it with a smile. It was their love that kept them going when all seemed hopeless,It was their love that kept their teams from falling apart when they lost Ren and nearly Yang and Weiss. It was their love that got Emerald and Mercury to join forces with them,and Hazel to turn himself in.
Today was the day where their love would become eternal. Everything was perfect. The weather was impeccable with the help of Penny's powers. They had found a spot in Patch near Summer's grave so the soul of Ruby's mom can witness her daughter's happiest day. They had convinced Flint and the three remaining members of team SSSN to perform for them. With the help of Wiess they had tables full of Cookies and dinosaur shaped nuggets made by world class chefs,and a beautiful chocolate cake with them together and decaying Grimm made of frosting.
They looked like angels. Coco had spent almost two months working on their outfits and makeup. She had even forwent sleep for days until her team and now housemates told her to take a nap. Coco said she owed them because Jaune took a strike from an elder Deathstalker that would have killed her instantly. She owed him her life and she would repay it by making them look better than most gods.
Jaune had a stark white suit and black undershirt. His tie went perfectly with his suit and contrasted his shirt like a piece of art. His hair was so well done that you would never recognize him if you saw his usual mop. In his pocket he had a gorgeous flower of his now wife's former namesake.
If Jaune looked good then Ruby looked like beauty incarnate. She had a ruby see through dress covering a stark white dress with intricate flower designs near her ankles and shoulders. Neither dress went above her shoulders that showed her now perfect skin. Coco forced them to use a certain brand of high quality moisturiser for months to have skin as clear as the sky on a sunny day.
Everyone they knew had made it. From the whole Arc clan to Marrow and Harriet from Atlas. The whole wedding was safe because most of the people were former huntsmen and huntresses on top of the protection from the army by General Schnee. On one side of the aisle was Jaune's family and Nora. A now six year old Adrian was sitting next to his Aunt Nora. Nora had looked the same except for her blue being replaced by Ren's green and her leg was now green made of the same stuff as Yang's arm.
On the other side was Ruby's family,both by blood and bond. Tai and Qrow were there and Summer was only a half a mile away with a bird sitting on her grave watching from afar. Next to the two members of team STRQ was Tai's daughter and her fiance. Both had major changes to their appearances. Yang's hair was now not the long beast it once was. It was now in a cut that Emerald said was stolen from her. Her jacket and shirt became much more conserivative and covered much more skin than her outfit from school day's past. Blake had the same haircut she had in Atlas because Yang said it fit her. Her outfit also remained largely the same but with her new Whitefang's insignia on the back of her coat.
At the altar was the couple of the hour. Jaune and Ruby were standing there ready to say their vows and make their love eternal. Behind them were Weiss and Sun as Bridesmaid and Best man respectively. In front of them was their former professor Peter Port ready to make it all official.
They promised each other to never take them for granted and to be there in sickness and in health. They did this all with those eager smiles they always had when they were near each other. When Port said those magic words Ruby used her semblance to tackle the newly married Arc and start kissing him like there was no tomorrow witch Jaune returned in full force.
When Ruby tossed her bouquet and everyone scrambled to lay claim to it,It smacked a trampled Butt Pirate in the face with his best friend right next to him. As soon as the bundle of red and golden roses were out of her hands she returned to making out with the man that made her life perfect.
Today was the day they would remember and look back on even in the after life. Today was the day that their love became eternal. It brought two best nerdy friends together in perfect harmony. It proved that Love did conquer all.
