Disclaimer: I do not own or claim to own the Percy Jackson Series or anything related to that. The one and only thing I own in this story is the plot.
Author's Note: Hello everyone! As you know, this story is a rewrite of a former story of mine called "The Spirit of Haze". It will be deleted after Chapter 1 is up, due to it being unbalanced as HELL and making no god damn sense in the first chapter. The main point of this is that I know FOR A FACT I can write a better storyline than whatever shit that was back then.. The next chapter will most likely be out tomorrow, and then regular updates every week.
This is just a Prologue to Heaven's Haze so don't expect too much in this chapter. This is my...technically my first fanfic due to me rebooting it, so please review and tell me if it's good or terrible! Please voice your opinions in the reviews and thank you in advance for reviewing if you do.

First things first, I'm making this fanfic due to me reading PJ Books since I was a kid and wrote stuff like this down on paper. I love the concept of having demigods blessed by other primordials, being High Priests/Champions to gods and gaining abilities, multiple pantheons, and how a Demigod can become just as strong as a god through training and blessings. This story is my original work, and it will stay that way for the rest of the story. This story is rated M due to gore, adult themes, and possibly lemons. I'd also like to note that this is an Alternate Universe in so many different ways that it would take an hour to list all the new things in this Universe.

Third Person POV / Everywhen / Everywhere
In the beginning, there was a woman who laid in the darkness of space, gazing throughout it and not understanding what this place was. And from this woman, everything was made. Fashioning a morphing outfit that was whatever the person expected to see from the Universe, she had, by accident, caused the Big Bang. And this woman was Chaos (And fuck off to all who say Chaos isn't a woman. This is my story and 2020). The dress she had fashioned had the stars that would come into being engraved into it, making the dress seem as if it reflected the state of the Universe.
Traversing through the abyss of emptiness that was the Current Universe, she looked for a sign of someone like her, not realizing that she had caused the massive explosion of energy and matter. After 200 million years, she had gotten tired of traveling across a wasteland, so she tapped into the River of Creation, becoming the Protogenoi of Creation (includes Matter, Energy, and Creation). Creating 13 individuals who she thought was needed from the Creation River, she formed the Primordials.
Gaea, Primordial of Earth and Terrain.
Eros, Primordial of Emotion.
Hydros, Primordial of Liquids.
Tartarus, Primordial of Monsters and Abyss.
Aether and Hemera, Primordials of Light, Air, and Day.
Erebus and Nyx, Primordials of Darkness, Mist, and Night.
Chronos, Primordial of Time.
Ananke, Primordial of Destiny and Fate.
Aion, Primordial of Space and Eternity.
Ouranos, Primordial of the Sky and Stars.
These primordials, and herself, would rule the Universe together from the first planet of life, Ophion. Over millions of years, the primordials ventured to Earth, and planted a seed of life there. Gaea herself birthed Titans, Giants, Monsters, and Animals alike, as the Earth became a symbol for life. And I'm sure you know the rest of the story.
Titans had taken over the Earth in the Golden Age, Gods replaced them, and it stayed that way for the next 60 Million Years. But the most disturbing thing Kronos had created during his rule was an artificial life-form with the purpose of killing the gods. Made out of primordial weapons melted down and formed into a conglomeration, the being gained consciousness through a dimension called the Haze. And its name was Aestrael, the 'Primordial' of Void. Although he wasn't a real being at all, but a mistake of two dimensions blending together, he went undetected for millennia, building up forces of monsters who followed the fake being wherever he went.
What is the Haze you ask me? The Haze is a dimension in between the forces of Mist, created by an unknown creator. But it doesn't matter. The Haze was the cause of multiple pantheons such as Christianity, Buddhism, Greek, Japanese, and Roman gods. Chaos and the primordials got a whim of this new concept, and created barriers in between pantheon gods. Chaos's solution was that each pantheon would have a different type of anatomy, having different forms and powers, along with being on different levels of the Mist. Each pantheon having a different type of magic that would be deadly to any other pantheon, causing the limits of how far a Religion's Territory could go.
The Haze could also cause a numerous amount of things, including powers and abilities that were on par with Gods, but could only be gained by mortals. And the Haze would not be discovered by any being until the early 2000's. Working in mysterious ways, the Haze is an enigma even to the person who dedicated his life to studying it. The most straightforward is in the "Aureus Manipulation". With each prophecy in Greek Myths, with each Sibylline Books of Rome, and with each message from God in Christianity, the Haze would have the chance to spread into reality in the form of a demigod. There are, of course, other ways of manipulating the Haze, but they are paradoxes that are as confusing as the Labyrinth. (A/N: The Haze will be explained more in other chapters)
Zeus POV / 1990 C.E. / Olympus
Sitting on my throne, I sat wondering what and how we would deal with the Rise of Kronos. Hades had told me that Tartarus is slowly gaining a more ominous power that was suspiciously like our Father's aura. But I had more pressing matters.
After observing the final prophecy the old oracle received back in the 1940's, I tried to remember the lines.
Flashback
As the Oracle walked into the Olympian Throne Room for the Winter Solstice, Apollo suddenly fell off of his throne with a gasp.
The Oracle, as terrifyingly creepy as possible, glowed green with mistiform snakes orbiting around her.
"The Age of Gods will reach their demise
As the Dreamer's world creates the rise
Of the virtuous champions undefeated
Betrayed by the one least conceited
Two lovers shall take the fight
Leaving behind the Era of Peace and Light
Will you still love them?
He asks knowing it has to be him
Flashback End
I slam my fists down onto the arms of my throne. Over the Manhattan skyline, a storm was forming. I had to figure out a solution to this prophecy and prevent it somehow. Continuously running events through my head to attempt and figure out this prophecy, I nearly went insane until I saw someone from my vantage point of the skies.
Beryl Grace.
Debating with myself and the oath I made, I wondered if I should go seduce her or not. After all, it had been 45 years since my last 'hookup' as they call it now. After all, I was the King of Gods and they would never know. Grinning, I stood up from my throne and morphed to my regular human form, before flashing out.
Third Person POV / November 1992 / Manhattan
Sitting outside a medical clinic in Manhattan, there was a couple.. Sally Jackson, a Christian Nephilim, and Poseidon, the Greek god of Seas and Earthquakes. And they had just received news that would change the fate of the world. Sally was pregnant with Poseidon's child.
Sally Jackson, being a Christian Nephilim, could interact with other pantheons, but she was unaware of her heritage. Drawn to the sea from her birth, she drew the attention of Poseidon when visiting Montauk for her first time. Being clear-sighted, she understood a lot of things mortals wouldn't understand and dedicated her life to sea exploration.
Poseidon however, instead of being excited and stunned in happiness, was fearful of what could happen next. After all, living for thousands of years teaches you not to think in the present, but the future.
"... What will we name him, Sally?" Poseidon asked, breaking the silence. Inside him, he felt butterflies of nervousness in his stomach, realizing how much sadness would come to them if Zeus would find out.
"Perseus," she said instantly, with no hesitation, "After all, his myth was one in thousands that ended in happiness." She was crying out of joy, as after years of seeing Poseidon at the sea and at Montauk she had wanted this to happen.
"I love that name." he said. After all, back in their Golden Age, his sons and daughters barely ever had happy endings. "And I love you, Sally Jackson." He could handle any punishment Zeus gave him as long as it didn't kill Sally.
"Sally... I won't always be able to be there for you. You know that, right?" Poseidon asked. He didn't care about the Oath of the Big Three, Sally was the kindest woman in the world, deserving of a man just as perfect. And with his flaws, Poseidon knew he wasn't that man.
"Poseidon... Percy is a blessing, not a curse. I knew you wouldn't be able to stay the second I met you 3 years ago," she stated, "Are you inferring that I'm a weak woman?"
"No, no!" he said. After all, she was the most determined, perceptive, emphatic person he ever knew. No god could compare to her, as she had traits no god would have: gratefulness. "I'm just afraid what will happen to you if Zeus finds out."
"Poseidon, I'm no simple mortal. And I know what I'm talking about when I say curse," she told him, "and besides! I can handle myself. That's one reason you fell in love with me, isn't it?"
"Of course," he stated, "I love you for everything you are." He knew Sally was clear-sighted, and that was a curse in itself.
"And if something does happen to me, just know that you can't gain something from misery," she told him. "Take it from someone who's gone through a lot of tragedy. If Zeus strikes me down, know that I'll see you again one day."
Thunder struck, and Poseidon knew it was time to go, before another 'thunder tantrum' started again. "Goodbye, my love," Poseidon said as he kissed her on the lips before flashing away.
Third Person POV / October 18, 1993 / Outside Hospital
Getting released, Sally Jackson was finally outside the reach of the god forsaken doctors. Whatever Percy was, he messed with the medical technology, so they kept asking her insane questions.
Walking into her apartment floor, she saw a piece of paper on her dining room. Reading it, she started crying. Following the instructions on the letter, she walked into her guest room, and saw that it had gotten a makeover into Percy's bedroom. Everything was provided for her, with diapers and toys any child would want.
Placing Percy in his crib so he could sleep, she walked out of the room to have her dinner.
Sitting down at the table, she put a bit of the meal on a separate plate and went to floor level to sacrifice it. Burning the food in a hearth, she prayed:
'To Poseidon, my true love. I know we will meet each other again one day, and I will never tell Percy about his fate to attempt to prevent him from the cruel reality out there.'
And with that, she went back to her room to continue her dinner.
Poseidon's POV / Two Hours Before Sally's Release / Olympus
"As you know, I have called this emergency meeting suddenly and unexpectedly. And that is because we have to speak on a subject that has eluded the meeting room for many years." Zeus started.
Toning out the sound of my annoying brother's voice, I thought about how Sally would be left alone one day. Dreadful thoughts as they were, I knew they would happen one day. I'll leave Anaklusmos with Sally so she could give it to him one day.
"SO POSEIDON! What do you recommend we do about the prophesied Fall of Olympus? And what do you suspect the Dreamer's world is?" Zeus asked me with his usual grandiose tone of voice.
"Brother, we knew this would happen one day. Kronos thought he would rule forever, and tried to avoid the prophecy. Look where that got him! We're only causing ourselves more pain if we resist," I spoke.
"That doesn't mean we're accepting our fate with open hands though. If you look at the past happenings, our children will most likely take over our stead. So we should prepare them instead of fighting our fate."
After this paragraph of speaking, many of the Olympians clapped or nodded, even Athena, who nearly never agreed with me.
Zeus however...
"HOW DARE YOU BE A PUSSY AND TRY TO CHICKEN OUT OF RESISTING THIS PROPHECY!" Zeus yelled. Standing up, lightning bolts started to glow on his skin and his eyes were storming with anger. "Of course you decided to accept your fate! After all, you know nothing about fighting back!"
"Father! What he says makes the most logical sense at this moment in time. If the Titans couldn't fight against fate, why should we risk ourselves right now?" Athena told him. Everyone nodded at this, as they had seen first hand how prophecies turned out if you resist them.
Zeus calmed down and started again.. It didn't matter to him. He was as power hungry as all of the world's dictators; past, present, and future.
And then he started rolling out jobs to prevent the Rise of the Titans..
One Hour Later
I was seething with frustration after Zeus told me to search ALL the world's oceans and depths 2 times. That would take nearly 4 years for me to do, and he told Athena to give me more work when I finished. But the work didn't matter to me.
Sally did.
4 years without any support by me would be nearly impossible with a child of the Big Three. Realizing what I must do, I flashed out of Olympus and into Sally's apartment room.
Walking into the former guest room, I set up a perfect room for a baby, with any toys they could want and a near infinite supply of diapers in the drawers I created. And with that, I had one last thing to do.
"Dear Sally,
I know it's a lot sooner than I thought. But Zeus has gotten angry at me for something so stupid, even Athena wouldn't be able to figure out the rationale.
I won't be able to see you for a long time.
Zeus has sent me on a mission that will take forever to accomplish, it won't matter how quickly I get it done with the other things he has prepared for me. And so I have one last request: Don't tell Percy about his heritage.
I know how you are one of the most virtuous woman on this Earth, on par with Hestia, and you couldn't bear to tell a lie for 12 years. Just tell him a half-truth. His father was lost at sea.
Goodbye Sally. I love you, and I will always love you. And I'm sure we will see each other again one day.
Sincerely, Poseidon"
Finishing my letter, I left it on the table and flashed back to my palace on the ocean.
Present Time, After Sally's Sacrifice
I felt some power return to me as I was swimming throughout the New York rivers. A prayer from Sally..? Thinking of a way I could send her a signal that I heard her, I decided to make the sea look as beautiful as the day we met.
Sally POV / Apartment
Looking out I on the bay, I saw it was the same color as the day me and Poseidon met. And this would mark the first year Sally would go without Poseidon. Staring out the window, I felt tears slowly trickle down my face. And I knew exactly what Poseidon would say.
'Smile darling. A perfect woman like you shouldn't be crying.'
Eyeing a ballpoint pen on the table, I reached for it. Uncapping it, it grew to a 3 foot long Greek sword, inscribed with "Anaklusmos", or Riptide. I realized this was for Percy when he got older, if the need ever arose.
And suddenly, I felt a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time. A countdown within my heart. Thinking about how much time I had left before Percy grew to be a full-fledged demigod was a horrible thought.
"I swear on the River Styx that I will never forget my time with Percy and Poseidon." I swore brashly. And I knew, in my heart, I would keep this oath till the end of my life.
End of Prologue
So! That was a good prologue in my opinion, and hopefully it set the stage for what would be happening next in the story. Please review on how you like or hate this story, and how I can improve my writing skills! I'd love to hear it. Furthermore, PM me any ideas you would like to see in this story.
As you can tell, this story mainly follows the path of Greek Mythology, but there will be Christianity aspects in the story, such as angels and demons coming up! Chapter One is coming this week too! After that, it'll most likely be a 1 Week Update Schedule, unless a major holiday comes up. That's all for now, peace out!
