Three years passed.

Three years since the vault on Elpis was opened. Since we were betrayed.

You wouldn't think a lot could change in that amount of time. But with everything that happened, it all changed at the snap of my fingers. Nisha and Jack had become a thing, and I honestly don't know how to feel about it. I mean I'm glad they have each other, but I just think they aren't healthy for one another.

Jack had killed Claptrap and his entire product line after he was able to get ahold of his precious H-Source. Of course I tried to stop him, but in that moment I was lucky he hadn't turned the gun on myself. Athena had left after that whole mess and I haven't seen or heard from her since.

Aurelia had left and went back to her estate on one of the Eden's, with barely so much as a goodbye. I mean she was probably only in it for the money, but I at least thought she cared. Wilhelm poor guy his disease got worse, and so did his addiction to his robotic upgrades. He was basically more machine than man now at this point.

And lastly poor Timothy I felt got the worst of it. I wasn't there when it happened but I honestly don't know if I would have been able to stomach it if I was. After the Vault incident Jack felt that the body doubles had to match him "perfectly". So one day he had Tim drag to his office and held down while he... Put a vault symbol brand on his face. I actually thought Jack had killed him, but thankfully he pulled through and was quickly shipped off to god knows where.

Finally that leaves me. I bet you're wondering if I had something horrific happen to me huh? Well nothing really changed for me after what happened on ELpis. It was basically the same job that I had before. Just watching Jack's ass and making sure no one tries to kill him again. So you can imagine my surprise when I get a message on my Echo from Jack himself telling me to get to his office as quick as my dwarf legs could carry me.

His words not mine.

So here I found myself standing in front the massive doors leading to Jack's office. With a sigh I placed my hand on the scanner and waited. After a few seconds in silence I hear the scanner ping and light up green.

"Access granted." The Hyperion automated voice sounds and with it the office doors slide open. Steeling myself I pass the threshold and enter the room. Climbing the stairs I try to ignore the giant statues of himself that Jack had in his office. At the top of the stairs sat his desk and the man himself.

When he saw me, he visably brightened up and bolted out of his chair. "Ash! There you are kiddo!" Jack crowed as he came over and gave me a bone crushing hug, while ruffling my hair. Huffing I reach up to push him off and he just laughs at my actions. But he lets me go and returns to his desk with a ever present grin on his face.

"You needed me?" I quickly get to the point. And Jack raises an eyebrow at my bluntness. "Oh ho! Look at little miss business over here. What are you too good to hang out with your old pal Jack now?" He asks me with a fake pout, and just cross my arms over my chest. "Jack come on. I'm tired, I've been overseeing the security team all day. Not to mention I had to deal with Nakayama every five minutes." At that part Jack actually grimaced in sympathy. "Yeah that does sound like a shit day."

"But, hey I got something to cheer you up!" He says excitedly and its my turn to quirk an eyebrow at him. "So you are probably waiting to hear why I called you up here-" "With baited breath." I interupt with a smirk, and he grumbles at me but continues.

"Anyways before I was so rudely interupted, I was gonna tell you that I have a real important mission for you." He pauses and waits for my reaction, but all I do is stare back at him. Waiting for him to elaborate. Dissatisfied with my reaction he huffs and continues. "God you're no fun anymore. Well here it is, I need to know what the hell those bandits are planning."

Knowing already who he is talking about I nod for him to continue. "But everytime I try to send in a agent they get discovered within two seconds, fuckin idiots." He grumbles and I chuckle at him. "Well no wonder, no one that works for Hyperion is very inconspicuos." I tell him with a shake of my head, but it worries me when a grin spreads across his face.

"Ah, but that my little buddy is where you come in." My smile immediatly drops. "I need you to go in there and tell me what it is that they are planning. I can't have them sneaking up on me before we're ready to wake the warrior." He tells me and I gape at him. I want to ask him so many questions, but before I can Jack speaks up again. "I would give you more to go on kiddo, but the less you know the better. Especially around those damn vault hunters." I sigh and just nod in understanding.

Looking back up at him I open my mouth. "Okay. So, when do I start?" I question quietly and Jack hesitates for a moment. Looking over my shoulder he speaks up finally. "Right now actually."

Before I can react a train stopping force rams into my side and slings me into the wall. Gasping I try to breath through the pain, but all I can manage is a few short pants. My vision starts to bleed out as I see a pair of tennis shoes walk over and kneel in front of me.

"For what its worth I'm sorry kiddo."
