All her life, Claire has only wanted one thing; a family to call her own. Ever since she was ten and her family was killed in a car accident, she has lived with survivors' guilt. She was the lone survivor of the three-car collision that killed her family. Since then, she's been bounced around from home to home until she was eighteen and aged out. Now, she's moving to Forks, Washington for the sole reason that her finger picked it when she closed her eyes and pointed to a spot on the map. She drove her small car that she was able to buy with the small amount of money she saved up. She was rounding a corner when she suddenly slammed on the breaks seeing a large wolf in the middle of the road. It looked injured and was just laying there. She breathed heavily and took in a big gulp of air before slowly getting out of her car. She approached the creature with her hands up trying to show it that she meant no harm. She made her way to the wolf and carefully bent down. This wolf looked a lot bigger than a normal wolf but Claire decided that wasn't the most important thing at the moment. The wolf just laid there and didn't even growl or try to squirm away from her.
"What's going on buddy? Are you hurt?" She reached a hand out of gently ran it over the wolf's head. The wolf's eyes closed and it moved closer towards Claire's hand. Claire gently pet the wolf. "Let me just move my car to the side of the road. I'll be right back." Claire ran back to her car and moved it over before returning to the wolf. She looked it over and noticed that one of the hind legs was bent at an unnatural angle. She grimaced seeing this. Having some medical experience, she knew she could reset the bones but it would hurt a lot. She crawled over to the wolf's head and started to pet it again. "Your leg is broken. I can set the bones but it's going to hurt, a lot." The wolf nudged Claire gently back towards his leg. "Okay." She grabbed the leg and looked at the wolf was watching her and Claire could see in the eyes, it was preparing itself for the pain. "On three, one, two, three." Claire quickly snapped the bones back in place. The wolf let out a loud and long yelp of pain. Suddenly, the wolf was gone and a man was laying there, naked. Claire jumped up and took several steps back. Her brain kicked in and she shimmied out of her jacket and awkwardly laid it over the man's lower half. The man grunted and held his leg with his eyes squeezed in pain. Claire had this chance to look over the man. He seemed to be in good shape, had tanned skin, and short, cropped black hair. His teeth were unnaturally white from what she could see since they were clamped together in the pain, she caused him. Finally, the man seemed to have pushed the pain and started to breathe normally again. Brown eyes opened to meet Claire's unique purple ones. The man seemed to study her for a long moment before held out a hand for Claire to help him up. "I just reset the bones in your leg and you want to stand?" Immediately, Claire realized those were the first words spoke to the man as a man. The man let out of chuckle and picked himself up. Claire looked with wide eyes as the man stood up and acted as if everything was fine and his leg looked like a normal leg, not one that was broken less than five minutes ago. She took another step back. "What are you?"
"Not a what, a who and my name is Jacob Black."
