A little late but this is my April Fools Day Trolls One-shot fanfic. This story introduces a special character of mine. She's both like and not like everyone in a way. What makes her special she loves to use to cause some harmless mischief. And Prank Day is the perfect day to bring some confusion and humorous chaos to Troll Village.

An OC of mine is in this named Storm. If you'd like to see what she looks like. Go to Deviant Art and search 'Storm the Pop Tragon'.

Enjoy!

"Happy Prank Day!" Poppy cheered. Having woken up and started their and finished their traditional Prank Day opening song. This time finishing she wasn't met with a can of frosting being dropped on her head. "Huh?" Poppy heard something snap below her. "WOAH!" Instead she fell into a pit of frosting.

Branch, the Snack Pack and their tragon friend Storm gathered around the pit to laugh and appreciate the prank.

"How was that Poppy?" Branch snickered, while Storm helped Poppy out of the frosting pit.

"Could've changed it up a bit more Branch." Poppy wiped the frosting off her dress.

"We did. It was a pit, not a bucket this time." Storm took a dab of frosting from the pit to eat.

"You helped?" Smidge asked the tragon.

"I have a condition for Prank Day. I help others come up with pranks and in return I don't get pranked."

"Sounds fair!" Cooper commented.

"Let's just promise this time Branch that this time we don't get too pranky at each other." Poppy said.

"Pranky isn't even a word. But I hear what you're saying." Branch reached his hand out to shake. "Truce?"

"Totally, truce!" Poppy shook his hand.

"Not that I don't have confidence in your guys' little truce." Storm placed a claw on their shoulders. "I suggest there be more to this then you guys are going with."

"Okay, you have anything in mind Storm?" Poppy asked.

"I say among all of us, we each only get one prank on each other. Branch you just pranked Poppy so that's all you're getting out of her."

"Fine." Branch grumbled.

The rest of the Snack Pack agreed to Storm idea. Undenounced to them someone hiding nearby was watching them. "Well none of them won't technically be braking this truce." They snickered and looked at Branch. "I think I'll start with Mr. Stickler."

Fear Bunker.

Branch at this moment was bringing fresh rations into his bunker. Three jars of supplies were sitting on the surface next to the elevator, he was bringing them in one at a time. He brought one of them in and stocked it leaving the last two up there. But when he came back up to get them, there were still three.

"Huh?" Branch confused, looked around suspiciously. He figured it was probably one of the others pranking him. He decided to humor which ever one it was and brought in the next jar. Then when he came up to get the next one. "What in the?!" Branch was met with an army of ration jars sitting outside. While surprised, he had to admit this prank was admirable. Branch heard a giggle nearby. "Alright, you got me!" Branch called out. "Very funny! Which one of you guys did this?" He didn't hear any sort of response. "Guys? Poppy? Guy? Cooper?" He tried guessing who it might have been, but no one answered. "Anybody …Cloud Guy?" Not even he came out.

This got Branch thinking on two things. Who was it who pranked him and what he's going to do with this stockpile of rations. To be honest, the voice of that laugh didn't sound familiar. Just then he could've sworn he saw a flash of pink sneak away. "Poppy?" He went to see if he could follow.

Biggie's Pod.

"You ready to go Mr. Dinkles?" Biggie picked up the glow worm, who which 'mew/meep' in response. The two decided to go to the beach and swim in the lagoon. Having gotten into his swim trunks, as the two of them exited his pod. The two of them were suddenly met with a giant cloud of flour. "Achoo!" Biggie now covered in flour sneezed. Getting over the surprise of the prank, Biggie blew the flour off Dinkles and started laughing. "Wasn't expecting that huh Mr. Dinkles? Branch was that you?" He looked around, no one came out. "Hello?" When Biggie asked that, He heard the same muffled laughter Branch heard. But he didn't see anyone there. "Well that's… strange." Biggie noticed a clump of what looks like Cooper's fur. "Hmm."

Satin and Chenille's Pod.

Like usual the twins were designing and sewing new clothes. This time around they actually seemed to be on the same page with this next line of outfits. While Chenille was drawing this next pattern, Satin went to sit down and use her side of their dual sewing machine to make the next dress. But the moment she sat down in her chair, she spooked by the sound of an air horn. Making her jump out of her seat. Chenille started laughing at the prank pulled on her sister.

"Very funny Chenille." Satin got over the shock and took the horn off her chair.

"It wasn't me Satin, but it sure was funny." Chenille sighed wiping a tear from her eye. "Besides, air horns aren't really our style." Chenille went and sat in her own chair, only to jump from the same prank air horn chair set up for her. This time Satin was the one to laugh at her. Chenille took the air horn off her chair. "I'm willing to bet this was Poppy." Just then they heard a laugh outside, no one was there when they looked. Until Satin believed she might've seen Branch walk away.

"I'll take that bet." Satin commented.

With Cooper.

Cooper was just whistling to himself enjoying a walk through the village. Then he noticed a little glowing red dot on the ground. "Ooh pretty." Cooper's simple mind was completely mesmerized by the dot. When he approached it, it zipped away. "Hey come back!" He started chasing it as it went all over the place. "I'm gonna catch you!" Cooper bumped and crashed into a few things as he gave chase to the dot. When he chased it around a corner it disappeared. "Aw where'd you go?" Looking around for the dot, he found a lone cupcake on a mushroom instead. "A cupcake sitting where that little dot just happened to guide me… Sweet!" Cooper came over to the cupcake and gobbled it right up without hesitation.

As Cooper ate the cupcake, he heard someone laugh close by. "Someone there?" He asked as he chewed. He noticed a trail of silver glitter. "Guy, is that you? Was that your cupcake?" He continued to ask figuring Guy was there. "I'm sorry if I ate it. If it makes it any better it was…" All of a sudden Cooper's mouth was overwhelmed with a burning spicy sensation. "WAHHH!" Cooper started screaming and running. The spice made him breath fire as he ran. When Cooper ran away towards the Village. The figure who was hiding came out to laugh at their work.

"That was too easy! I gotta see where this goes." They started covertly following Cooper.

Troll Village.

"HOT, HOT, HOT!" Cooper ran blindly through the village breathing from the spicy cupcake, accidently catching a few things on fire.

Storm was having a frozen treat from the ice cream bug when she noticed him blaze by. "Cooper, what are you? Woah!" She dodged the fire in time. Unfortunately it melted her ice cream. "Aww man. Hey fire breathe is my thing!" Storm went after him, but became preoccupied putting out fires along the way.

Poppy in her Pod had just gotten pranked herself. While she was absent from her Pod someone came in and covered all her furniture and stuff in gift wrap. "Huh, not bad." Poppy commented the prank. Just then she heard Cooper cries. "Cooper?" She poked her head out to see him running around. Branch and Storm were too busy putting his fires out to stop him. "Cooper!" Poppy jumped down from her Pod, she had to think fast to try and help him. She spotted a pond nearby. "Hey Cooper over here!" She point the water out to him.

Luckily he heard her and ran straight for it, dunking his head in the water. The pond bubbled from his fiery mouth. Branch and Storm finished putting out the fires he caused. They, Poppy and the rest of the Snack Pack came in concern for Cooper.

Smidge approached Cooper first. "What's wrong Cooper, can't handle the heat?" She yanked his head out of the pond.

"I can't feel my mouth." Cooper's mouth sizzled with steam coming out of his mouth.

"You okay Cooper?" Poppy asked him.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Cooper answered with his tongue hanging out still a little spicy. He looked at Guy Diamond. "You sure got me good with that prank Guy."

"What are you talking about?"

"You made Cooper a troll flamethrower?" Branch asked the glitter troll.

"That wasn't me!" Guy waved his hands defensively.

"But I saw a trail of silver glitter that lead to the spicy cupcake." Cooper pointed out.

"Since when do I do pranks that don't involve glitter?"

"He's got a point there." Branch agreed with Guy's logic.

"Then who did it?" Poppy asked everyone. They all shrugged and denied having done it.

"Well whoever did it." Biggie started. "At least the prank you pulled on me wasn't as bad Cooper."

"Yeah, you got me." Cooper laughed. "That chocolate chip cookie I gave you was actually a raisin cookie."

"What, no. I'm talking about the flour. You pranked me twice?"

"Doesn't that go against our Prank Day agreement?" Storm asked.

"I didn't do anything with a flower." Cooper protested.

"I think he meant flour used for baking." Poppy explained.

This growing confusion got Branch thinking. "Hey Poppy. Did you prank me earlier?"

"No, I was going to save you for last." She answered.

"That doesn't make any sense." Branch muffled. "I could've sworn I saw you outside my Bunker."

"Did you set up our sewing chairs with air horns, Branch?" Satin asked him.

"No, I didn't" Branch answered. "Was anyone else pranked under mysterious circumstances?" He asked the Snack Pack.

"Yeah!" Smidge answered. "Almost every doorway I've walked through has had different setups of plastic wrap!"

"I was doused earlier with a bucket of ice water." Guy Diamond added. "Although the cold water did wonders for my complexion."

"I can't think of anytime I was mysteriously pranked." DJ Suki answered with a yawn. "I took a nap earlier but nothing before or after that really." Everyone just stared at her. She had marker written all over her face.

"Should we tell her?" Storm asked.

"I wouldn't." Branch answered.

"Tell me what?" Suki asked.

"You've got a little something on your face." Cooper answered for her. She went over to the pond surprised to see she was indeed pranked. DJ took the water and started washing it off her face.

"Did anyone here do that?" Poppy asked. Everyone denied doing it.

"Maybe someone else in the village pranked you guys?" Storm guessed.

"That can't be. I told everyone I wanted to keep the pranks between us." Poppy explained, the pranks were supposed to be among the Snack Pack.

"I think we might have another imposter among us." Branch theorized.

"What?!" The Snack Pack shouted together.

"Are you sure Branch?" Poppy asked concern.

"We each thought we saw each other right after a prank. But none of us seems to have actually done them. I'm certain of it."

Poppy shook off her concern. "Well this time we know how to approach this. Let's get to the village center."

Time skip.

Poppy had called everyone in troll village to come to the village center. "Trolls, some pranks have been happening under mysterious means." Poppy explained. "We believe another imposter is hiding amongst us." That started getting everyone to stir with worry. "Please no one freak out! We've been through this before. Turn to the troll next to you and pull each other's hair." She ordered. The trolls did as she said and while it hurt to do so, none of them so far seemed to be faking it.

Guy Diamond had no one to test with. That is until he noticed a girl troll standing by herself. She looked a lot like Poppy actually. Expect her skin was more of a purplish pink, her hair and nose were orange, her dress had a diamond pattern to it, instead of a ponytail holder, her she had a ponytail tied with a pink hair bow and more strangely she had a pink diamond mark on her forehead, same pink has her eyes. Guy walked over for them to test each other's hair. "May I miss…?" He asked, getting her attention hoping for her name.

"Vesper. My name is Vesper." She answered. "And you're Guy Diamond right?"

"So my reputation has exceeded me?" Guy said dramatically. Vesper just looked at him confused. "Anyway shall we?" Vesper leaned her hair over for him to pull and she pulled his. Neither of them seemed to be wearing wigs. "Thank you for your time and cooperation."

"No problem." Vesper said. Once Guy was gone, Vesper looked around and sneaked off.

"No one seems to be wearing wigs Branch." Poppy shrugged.

"That can't be right." Branch thought for a moment. "The imposter must actually be a troll. But how can we know who did it then?"

"How about this?" Storm walked up and then look at the crowd. "Everyone of test each other stand in groups!" The trolls all did as Storm asked, standing in pairs. She flew over to each of them and gave each group a sniff. Storm more or less knew the scents of the trolls, if there was anyone out of the ordinary she should be able to sense it. While Storm was looking, Poppy saw Guy looking around confused.

"Guy Diamond what's wrong?" She walked over to him.

"The troll who I tested our hair with me seems to have wandered off and I don't know where she went."

"What's her name? Maybe I've seen her around."

"Her name is Vesper."

"What? I know everyone who lives in Troll Village and I've never heard of her before."

"Really?"

"I believe we have our imposter." Branch walked up having heard the conversation. "Storm! Everyone!" Branch got her and the crowd's attention. "Guy can you tell us what they looked like?"

"Yeah, Vesper actually looked a lot like you Poppy. Only her hair was orange, her skin was more purple, she had a hair bow tied ponytail and she had some pink diamond mark on her forehead." Guy described.

"Everyone keep an eye out for her okay." Branch told everyone. All the trolls agreed.

"Branch if this Vesper disguises herself, she's a troll and we can't pull for a wig. How are we supposed to know if we've found her?" Poppy asked him.

"Storm is how." Branch answered pointing at their tragon friend. "Guy let Storm sniff your hair, maybe she can track her sent from there."

"Uh okay." Guy said.

Storm was comfortable with the idea but if it's to help her friends. "Don't take this the wrong way okay." She started sniffing Guy Diamond's hair. She did notice a scent that wasn't his. "I'm getting something…" Storm crawled on the ground find the trail. "This way!" She ran in that direction.

"Storm wait up!" Branch called out, him, Poppy and the Snack Pack going after her.

After a while of running Storm stopped allowing the others to catch up.

"That's weird." Storm sniffed.

"What's wrong? Did you lose the trail?" Poppy asked.

"Kind of. Her scent was here, but now I'm smelling something different."

"Different how?" Branch asked, keeping his eyes out for this troll.

"Guys look, somethings there!" Smidge pointed out a rustle in the brush.

"Identify yourself!" Branch shouted at who was there.

"Are you Vesper?" Poppy asked over his shout. What came out took them by surprise. It was Poppy!?

"No, my name is Queen Poppy." This other Poppy answered. Everyone was at a total loss for words.

"Am I the only one seeing double?" Storm asked everyone else.

"Oh it's not just me.?" Cooper sighed. "I thought I was hallucinating from that spicy cupcake or something."

"So you guys found the imposter!" The other Poppy said pointing at Poppy.

"What? No! She's the imposter, not me!" Poppy protested to her friends.

"Uh any ideas?" Smidge asked. "Cause this is really confusing me."

"Um Storm, try testing their hair." Branch suggested.

"I thought we agreed that wouldn't work?" She asked having the two Poppies stand next to each other.

"Got any better ideas?" Branch asked the tragon.

"As a matter of fact, yes." Storm sniffed both Poppy to see if either smelt different. Unfortunately, they smelled exactly the same somehow too. "Hmm." Storm was stumped.

"Hmm? What do you mean 'hmm'?" DJ asked.

"Somehow whichever one is the fake is able to smell like Poppy too." Storm explained. "Even I can't tell them apart.

"So then how are we supposed to tell who the real Poppy is?" Biggie started to panic.

"Come on guys, it's me!" One of the Poppies started.

"No it's me!" The other one protested. "How could you mistake this face?"

"Branch, you of all trolls should know I'm me." Poppy pleaded to him.

"Exactly what I was going to say copycat." The other argued.

"You're the copycat!" Poppy yelled at the other and turned back to Branch. "Branch!"

"I-I umm." Branch stuttered, looking between the two. They looked exactly alike. But maybe they don't think alike. "Okay how about I asked you guys questions only the real Poppy would know?" Both Poppies seemed to actually be okay with his proposal. "What's the name of my remote control?"

"Gary!" They both answered.

"Correct." Branch thought for another question. "What party was it that Chef attacked Troll Village at?"

"The Village's 20th Anniversary!" They both answered again.

"Correct again." Branch thought harder. When he thought about it, those questions are things most trolls would know. He had to think of something she wouldn't just know, but also cherish. That gave him an idea. "Alright then. When we were captured by the bergans and everyone lost their colors, what song was it that you and I sang together to lift everyone's spirits?" Sure everyone in the village was present for that and knew the answer. But it was especially a fond memory to Poppy and Branch would be able to see it.

"True Colors." They both answered. But only one of them had a look of nostalgia.

Branch walked up to that Poppy. "That's it, you're Poppy." Happy he could recognize her, she gave him a hug. Which he returned. After a bit, Branch broke off from their hug narrowing his eyes at the other Poppy. "Alright, who are you really?" He marched up to her. She didn't seem fazed by him at all though. She smiled and lifted up her hairband to show she had that same pink diamond mark on her forehead Guy saw on that other troll.

"She has the same mark as that girl, Vesper!" Guy pointed out.

"Is that who you are?" Branch was face to face with her. All of a sudden the other Poppy's body was engulfed in a pink aura, her shape shifted and next thing Branch knew. He was face to face with himself! "AH!" Branch backed away surprised. The other him snickered at his reaction, their only difference was the double still had the pink diamond on their forehead. "What are you?"

"Right now I'm a troll like you." The other Branch answered. Again a pink aura engulfed the copy, their glowing silhouette change and seemed to be forming a tragon. When the aura faded. A female tragon like Storm stood in front of them. She had blue fur, purple horns, ear, claws and spikes, orange hair, belly scales and glittery wings, her hair was tied in a pink hair bow, pink eyes and the pink mark still on her forehead. "And now I'm a tragon like Storm here." She pointed at the other tragon.

"Okay then who and what are you really?" Storm asked.

This time instead of a pink aura, her form glowed red shifting to a form about the size of a troll. The red glow faded to show a creature with white skin, a long tail, hands and feet with only three grey colored fingers and toes, with red spines, horns, plates on its belly, shoulder spikes, the diamond mark was still on its forehead only now it was red and when it opened it's eyes they were red now as well. "Guy already told you didn't he? My name is Vesper. As for what I am, I'm a shapeshifter." Vesper officially introduced herself. Cooper got nervous at that last reveal. "And no, I'm not here to take your souls." She reassured him. Allowing him to sigh with relief.

"Wait you're an actual shapeshifter?" Poppy was amazed by the reveal, taking a close look at her.

"Yep!" Vesper answered with glee.

"So you are the one causing trouble in our home?" Branch accused Vesper.

"To you guys, yes. Those anonymous pranks were all me. I took the forms of each of you when I set them up in case you saw me."

"Why would you make us think we did that to each other? Smidge asked her.

"I wasn't trying to be mean or anything." Vesper clarified. "I'm a trickster, I like causing harmless chaos and confusion. I've actually visited a lot of times doing minor pranks like silly string in someone's cupboard or switching salt with someone's sugar. Something that would get a head scratch but no one would look into. When I heard it was Prank Day, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to try out my best prank ideas on you guys."

"There are plenty of trolls in the village you could've done those on ya know." Branch crossed his arms.

"Yeah, but you guys are my favorites." Vesper explained. Poppy and the Snack Pack were actually touched by that comment. "The looks on your guys' faces were the best!" She laughed, remembering their reactions to her pranks.

"I'm still confused." DJ Suki chimed. "You can shape-what know?"

"Shapeshift." Vesper answered. "It's what I do when change my form to look however I want. To become anything or anyone I want." That gave her an idea. She decided to explain it to them through song. "Here, let me show you!"

Bold for action.

Vesper climbed up a tree, an orange aura turned her into a bird with an orange diamond mark on the forehead. She flew around the Snack Pack to show off her new form.

Shapeshifting is what I call my neat ability
Changing form is what I do
Just look close
'Cause you won't see

She kept on changing forms to various critters and objects. Each time she change her aura and mark were a different color. From orange to yellow, then green, light blue, blue, purple, pink, red and back over again.

Am I here? Or am I here?
I change shapes and disappear
Take a look
Hide and seek
Yes, my skill is so unique
Well I could stay one form
But I won't
So now you see me
Now you don't

Vesper came up to Branch turning into him again, spooking him again hiding behind Storm. This time it discouraged Vesper.

Copies that I make
Might scare an unsuspecting friend
But scaring trolls and critters
Is not what I intend

She change to various form to show more of her skill again. When she turned into objects, her mark wasn't there allowing her to completely blend.

Am I here? Or am I there?
Could it be that I'm nowhere?
Take a look
Hide and seek
Yes, my skill is so unique

Vesper motioned Cooper to try and catch her from behind a rock.

Well you can try to catch me
But you won't

He chased her around the rock but after a second round, Cooper didn't noticed she turned into a leaf that blew away from out of his detection. For Cooper it seemed like she disappeared.

So now you see me
Now you don't

Vesper started taking the forms of each member of the Snack Pack. Although no matter how many times she changed into them. Her mark was always pink for some reason.

My form can change to help me hide
Wherever I might run
But sometimes I just change

She climbed onto the rock in her own form, her features colored red.

So I can have some fun

Vesper zipped around the Snack Pack shifting. From a bird

Oh! Am I here?

To a mushroom.

Or am I here?
I change shapes and disappear

To a small spider.

Take a look

To a rock.

Hide and seek

Then into a firefly and flew around a bit more.

Yes, my skill is so unique
Well I could stay one form
But I won't

She change back to her form in front of them.

So now you see me
Now you don't

As a last show of her skill she changed into her troll form when she met Guy, her tragon form earlier and back to her true form with her features red once again.

The Snack Pack except Branch, all applauded to her shapeshifting showcase.

"That was amazing!" Poppy cheered.

"So you can really change into anything?" Cooper asked.

"Well to an extent." Vesper answered. "There are limits to my shapeshifting. I can't be as big as a Bergen or a tree. That would take a lot of time and practice. I can however alter my true form." Her aura glowed orange, but the only shift in her form was she made her tail twice as long. She then shifted back to normal, her features now yellow.

"I have one more question Vesper." Poppy walked up to her with a bit of a disappointed look. "If you've visited so many times, why didn't you tell us you were there sooner?" Poppy's question seemed to sadden Vesper.

"Well…I" Vesper struggled to find her words. "I don't have any family." That reveal made even Branch feel bad for her. "I'm literally the only shapeshifter I've ever known. When I come to Troll Village, I turn into a troll to fit in with you guys. Now I know you guys would say I shouldn't try to be something I'm not." She paused and looked at her hands. "But when you're the only known one of your kind, it'd be nice to know there's someone out there who's like you." Vesper closed her eyes and slummed down discouraged. Poppy came over and sat next to her hoping to help her feel better. "That's why I only visit." Vesper looked up at Poppy. "When I'm not here hanging with you guys. I'm out looking for other shapeshifters. I'm sure you guys can gather that's not easy."

"Well someone brought you into this world right?" Poppy tried to encourage her. "I'm sure there are others."

"You really think so?" Vesper smiled.

"I know so!" Poppy hugged her.

"Yeah, you just have to keep looking." Smidge and the rest of the Snack Pack came and joined in the hug. Storm also was part of the hug and she pulled Branch in to be part of it.

Branch sighed. "And even if you don't you've got friends here."

"Thanks guys!" Vesper savored the hug from the trolls and tragon. "You know what? I'll get back to searching now." The Snack Pack released her from the hug.

"Already?" Biggie asked, seriously bummed. "But you just revealed to us the real you to get to know."

"Yeah don't you want the village to officially meet you?" Satin asked.

"Naw, just tell them the pink marked troll who looked a lot like Poppy was actually a shapeshifter. Besides I'll be back soon. I've come back from my search multiple times. You guys just give me the drive to start looking again." Vesper stated, turning into her tragon form.

"You want us to help you look?" Storm asked. Her question worried Branch.

"No thanks." But Vesper answered gave him a sigh of relief. "This is my mission. But if you guys ever get around, let me know if you see anyone with a mark on their forehead like this." Vesper pointed at the diamond on her. "I just know other shapeshifters have it."

"Okay we will!" Poppy promised her.

"Alright bye guys." Vesper spread her glittery tragon wings and took flight. "And Happy Prank Day!" She gave them a wink flying out of sight.

"Well hopefully things will be a lot less confusing around here now that we know about her." Branch hoped, making his way back to the village. The others started following him.

"You got to admit Branch." Poppy caught up with him. "Her pranks were pretty funny." Suddenly Poppy and Branch welt what seemed like a trip wire. The Snack Pack all looked up and were doused with a giant glitter bomb. Then a little calling card floated down landing on Poppy. It had Vesper diamond mark on it and her initial, signifying that was her doing.

"Yeah hilarious." Branch said sarcastically, trying to rub the glitter off him.

"I guess she needed a parting prank." Poppy and the others not including Branch all laughed at themselves covered in glitter.

Vesper having not fully left, hid and watched the prank unfold. She muffled her laughter watching the glitter get dumped on them and was actually kind of grateful she could be herself around them. Vesper then took off to resume her search for other shapeshifters.

The End.

Hope you guys liked this One-Shot. Vesper is one of the very few OC's of mine who isn't a tragon. I was very pleased with how she turned out too. If you guys want to more clearly see what Vesper, her troll form and tragon form look like. Go to Deviant Art and search 'Vesper the Shapeshifter'.
