Disclaimer: I don't own MHA

This is another idea I had in a dream. Hope you like it!

Lightening

The subway screeched to a halt in front of them. Midoriya was deep in thought and Iida grabbed his arm, dragging him along. Kaminari, Hagakure, and Uraraka followed along, chuckling. Everyone grabbed a hand hold as the subway zipped along its track.

The sudden movement startled the green haired young man out of his stupor, and Iida found the chance to ask, "Midoriya, what's on your mind?" Iida knew, but he wanted to get the boy talking, lest he fall into his own deep thoughts again.

"I'm just..." Deku ran a gloved hand through his hair, shaking his head. "I'm just so confused about this disease. There's so many things we don't know about it. Like how it spreads for one."

"I wouldn't worry too much," Uraraka said. She tilted her head to the side, smiling hopefully. "The pros are on it. We were only there to assess the damage."

Kaminari adjusted his headphone. "Yeah, it was good luck that the pros let us go at all."

"It was training," Iida spoke. "I hope you all learned something. Deku, Uraraka's right. The pro hero's have this in hand. And you can be sure that every scientist is working on this. After all, a disease that can disrupt someone's quirk is highly dangerous."

"Especially if all that damage we saw means anything," Hagakure voiced. Her gloved hand flew through the air. "Not cool."

Midoriya nodded. A whole building had been taken down by someone's powerful quirk gone haywire. It was the third time this week that someone had lost control of their quirk, but this was clearly the most dangerous. Several people were hurt. And it wouldn't be long before someone with a really dangerous quirk caught the bug.

Like him.

Oh no, he'd been to ground zero. Sure, it was a part of his hero training, and he'd known there was a potential for infection, but what if he did catch it? He could barely control One For All now. If he caught this bug, at one hundred percent, he could do severe damage. He could accidently hurt so many...

"Ugh, hey, guys?"

Kaminari's hesitant voice cut through Deku's inner tirade, and he looked over. Uraraka gasped. In the young man's hand, sparks were flying. His fingers twitched and his other hand grasped his upper arm until his fingers were white. Sparks were beginning to climb up his arm, his shoulder, now they were cutting through his golden hair.

He's infected.

"Everyone get back," Iida commanded. It was only then that the civilians on the subway car actually noticed their predicament. That's when the screaming started. All at once, the civilians clambered to their feet, running to the other side of the car and gathering in a huddle.

The heroes in training kept their distance, but provided a barrier between their friend and the frightened civilians. Deku wracked his brain for some kind of solution.

Kaminari's voice was pained. His teeth were clenched. "Guys... I can't... I can't stop it."

Deku stared at his friend, completely helpless. The young man looked like he was in such pain, and his quirk was growing increasingly powerful. With a suddenly large arc of lightening, the subway's overhead lights cracked and exploded. Everything went dark.
