Hiya, guys! Just thought I'd drop this little (Well, I intend for it to be a multi-chapter epic story later) piece on you. Enjoy and feel free to place a comment if you want to! Anyway, on with the story!
RRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG!
"Yes!" Hiccup thought. "End of school!"
Harold 'Hiccup' Haddock the lll was a junior at Berk Highschool and a primary bully target for his two brain-celled cousin, Scott 'Snotlout' Jorgenson. At Berk High, it was customary for everyone to get a nickname, except for Harold's crush, Astrid Hofferson, who, on the first day of freshman had picked up Scott and slammed him into the lockers after he said "and what's your nickname, Astrid?"
She growled in his face "I don't have a nickname, and I intend to keep it that way, alright Snotface? Do you understand?"
Scott then proceeded to respond in the stupidest way possible, with a "Sure you do, Babe! What is… Arrgh!" He didn't get to finish his sentence because Astrid had deposited him into a nearby trash can.
Scott had gained his nickname 'Snotlout' due to an unfortunate incident involving Scott stuffing his bogeys up the nose of an unsuspecting student back in middle school. Harold got his because he had the hiccups for three days straight. His best friend Patrick 'Fishlegs' Ingerman had a research assignment back in elementary school on the life of a fish, but got sidetracked so much on the fact that fish DIDN'T have legs, on the contrary to what he had previously thought, that he ended up changing his assignment to report on why the government are mean, how they don't give fish legs, and how he wanted everyone to sign a petition to give fish the ability to walk.
As Harold bolted out the door of Science Lab 12, he thought back on what he had learned today. Absolutely nothing. Why? Because Harold was a nerd. He always had his nose buried in some form of math or science textbook, or reciting the periodic table, much to the annoyance of everyone around him (He was alone most of the time, anyway.) The combination of being alone and the crushing sense of disappointment from his father, Sir Stoic Haddock, the mayor of Berk had led him to resort to studying profusely, therefore he already knew what the class was learning. Another thought popped into his head: How much he missed the old days. Back in elementary, everyone knew each other, and they were all friends. Heck, you could even say that Astrid and Harold were best friends. They would always hang out with each other and go the park and the ice-cream van and the movies… Until IT happened. The day that changed everything. The day Harold became so, so alone in this cold, harsh, world. He was probably six or seven at the time, it was just another ordinary day. He had just been to the movies with his mother, Valka. After all, it was Mother's Day and Harold wanted to treat his mom. He had saved all his allowance and wanted to treat her to a movie. They drove to the movies, saw their film, and were heading back. Then, as they were pulling out on the highway, a heavy fuel tanker's tire popped and was screaming straight at the car. All Harold could remember was hearing a truck horn and seeing two bright headlights, then nothing. He was told when he woke up later in the hospital that his mother had died in a huge explosion. After he was released, he noticed a change in both his father and his friends…
Haha! Sorry for the cliffhanger, will post again during the week. Bye.
