Hello Sweeties and welcome to a different story from me! Normally I post chapter of my FNAFtion. However that is currently on hold due to misplacing chapter 22. Which really sucks since I'm really happy with how that story has been developing. Anyways! I am here with an Undertale story, obviously, that I hope you will enjoy. I will let you get reading now. Enjoy!

She walked along the path that made its way through a snowy forest. It was serene and picturesque with the snow covering the ground like a glittering white blanket and dusting the trees. Someone would most likely call it beautiful, but she would not. She couldn't even feel the biting cold that hung in the air and would seep into the bones if one didn't catch it. She was beyond the icy touch of the temperature. Beyond the sensations associated with this weather and climate. But then she was beyond the touch of most things.

She wandered along out of boredom. Stuck in a waiting pattern that was all too familiar to her. The child had ignored her this time around. Well not fully. Only enough attention was given to convey that they didn't want to go her route this time. Such a pity. It wasn't the first time honestly, and she doubted it would end up being the last either. But it sucked for her, as it left her to this existence. If one could really call it that, this state she was in. She couldn't eat, drink or interact with anyone. That only came when the child accepted her. But not this go around.

She had no idea how long it would last. Sometimes the child went a few weeks before something would happen to result in them calling her name. Or the child would end up succumbing to the wanderlust that keeps them moving forward. Both scenarios ended up with the same final result. Returning to the very beginning of this place, and with the slate wiped clean no less. Then she would have to deal with it all over again. How tedious.

She had a feeling, based on the words the child had briefly spoken, that this time it was going to be an extended round. The child was planning on spending longer in the ruins than they normally did. She, once again, hadn't wanted to stick around for that mind numbing experience. She would rather gag on dust than have to watch that particular insanity. It had eaten enough of my brain cells the first few times. Each and every single time had made her wish she could have dipped her brain in acid to purge those oh so lovely things out of it. But alas, she could not. It meant she was stuck with the revolting memories.

That was why she had decided to move on ahead of the child. Even though she knew it meant that no one would be able to see or hear her. It was exceedingly better than what lay behind her. Hence her currently walking along a path that was so well ingrained in her memory that she most likely didn't need to see to navigate. She had walked it enough on her own and with the child to know every bend and rock nestled in the soil. Just as she knew what eventually lay beyond the forest and at a point down the pathway.

The path she tread on lead to a town that broke up the seemingly endless trees. Beyond the town it twisted off to lead into what one could describe as a different biome. There are several in this place and each are unique to their location, no two the same. To someone who was new to the place it would give them a lot of interesting things to behold and explore. Unfortunately for her, she had taken in the sights so many times, that they had long ago lost any kind of wonder. Holding no spark of interest to her, just another set of places she could go in her aimless wanderings.

Though there was something between the town and herself that on occasion proved to be entertaining. Technically speaking it wasn't the small structure meant for one person to look out from. Rather it was the being that could sometimes be found inside it. The being seemed to always captivate the child, for some reason that she just could not fathom. Sometimes it was downright sickening to see the child fawn over him. It always succeeded in causing her to bring them both as much misery as she could. That was always satisfactory.

She would never admit it, even to herself, but she was tired. Weary and worn down really. It had become extremely repetitive and overall boring. Sure there was usually a few minuscule alterations to what the child did. However, it was never major enough to warrant being remembered. Especially when they didn't affect the grand scheme of things. She even hadn't had a unique and creative idea to cause stimulation in a long while. Heck even the darker rounds had lost it's luster. Don't get her wrong, she still loves every single moment of those times.

She figured it was because this particular child was different. Special. She had encountered other children in the past. None of them were like this specific one. Mind you each one had their own unique attributes and quirks. This one though, was beyond that level. She kind of missed encountering different children. The first time with each had been an exciting moment. She never knew what was going to happen or how they would end up reacting to her. That delight had sadly disappeared, she hoped only for now. Part of her feared this was how it would be.

She could remember the darkness. Absolute and seemingly endless. No sense of where she was or even any sense of time flowing. The first time she had 'woken up' there it had been disorienting. Yet it had also felt comforting to her, so she didn't fight against it. It had actually been far more disconcerting to her when she had suddenly found herself in the ruins the first time after. In what would have been one heartbeat she had been in her darkness, and in the next she wasn't. She could never figure out the how or why of it. She merely got used to suddenly popping in and out.

She missed it. Her darkness. It feels like an eternity since she had been back there. As difficult as it is to know the passage of time there, the child's one ability renders keeping track a moot point. That was increasingly frustrating., not being able to keep track of time. It could have potentially alleviated some of her boredom. Or at the very least give her something else to focus on instead of the aimlessness of it all. The bleakness of her solo existence in this never changing world. It might have also helped if someone other than the child could see her. Then she might actually get a decent conversation for once.

That was something else that bothered her about this particular child. It was practically a mute. Sure it occasionally spoke, but that was far and long between. Not to mention that when it did speak, it was really only a handful of words. All of the previous children were more talkative than this one. A couple of them were even very chatty. She hated to confess it, but she actually missed the times where she wanted to find a mute button. They at least tried to converse with her when no-one was around. At the time she hadn't wanted them to talk to her, or try to get to know her. How strange a thing for her to desire it now, when she had no hope of such a thing happening. This child did not care about Her, only her power at times. It often enough left her feeling used.

She stops walking as she gets this sudden feeling of something being wrong. She looks around herself at the forest, but doesn't see anything out of place. The trees were as they always appeared, and the snow was undisturbed for as far as the eye could see. Yet the feeling of something being off persisted. She remains unmoving for several long moments, studying her surroundings for any sign she could pinpoint. She could not figure out what was causing the sensation, so she gave up and carried on down the path.

She realized, at some point down the pathway, the sensation of something being wrong increased. A knot of worry forming as it did so. She didn't like unexpected things cropping up. Yet at the same time as the knot of worry came about, a sliver of anticipation also grew. As she continued onward she remained vigilant, keeping an eye out for any sign or thing out of place. As much of a worry and concern it was, it was also a mystery. She didn't understand why it would not abate when clearly everything remained looking exactly as it always had.

Eventually her steps slowed back to a leisurely pace. Finally able to ignore the sensation and put it out of her mind. Going back to thinking about the desolate emptiness of her existence that she had been reduced to. Her steps slow further as she suddenly realizes that she had been walking a lot longer than was normal. She should have reached the guard stand by now.

She finally had to admit that something indeed was not right. So she proceeds with caution, more alert now. A moment later coming upon a sight utterly new to her. It was a fork in the road, technically a Y really. Two paths pointing in two completely different directions, with curves disappearing into the woods. Just when she thought there was nothing else new to witness in this forest, she was ecstatic.

She stops walking just before the path splits, looking between the two. She had no idea where either one led. She suspected that one of them still led off to the guard stand. Which one it was though and what the other would take her to was a mystery. It was positively thrilling.

There you have it! The end of my prologue for this story. It was pretty much experimental. So please let me know what you think about it! Until next time, Stay Safe!
