A/N: Another AU just because. Semi inspired by 4.16, 5.02, 6.16, 7.25, 8.20; Calleigh sad makes me sad because she's literally so joyful. :( Had to include Ryan (supposedly making this another CaRWash fic) because, you know, quote "you'd do the same for me if I were having a bad day" which makes my heart explode. The potential that they could've had literally KILLS me.

Peep the song lyrics at the end. :0

Kissing him didn't feel the same. It never did, since he switched to undercover. She barely saw him and his cover required him to do whatever it took to get the information that PD needed. Even if it meant doing some very.. questionable things under the radar. Calleigh would smell the perfume of another woman on his clothes. See lipgloss transfer that wasn't hers on his lips. And then a picture of him with another woman shows up. As if it wasn't already obvious enough that he was unfaithful to her and that he didn't respect her as his girlfriend. She'd had enough of it. Calleigh couldn't deal with it any longer. She couldn't keep allowing herself to turn a blind eye to every red flag in their relationship.. if she could even call it that. He treated it like it was just a thing that happened everytime he came out of cover. The blonde wasn't sure how long she could live like that.

Knowing he's been with another woman. Maybe even more times than she would ever know. His unfaithfulness was the reason that they broke it off last time as well, only this time, she wasn't going to give him another chance. He'd had his fair set of chances to make things right and the only thing he did was give her even more reason to believe that what they had was barely something to even consider much of a relationship. She was the one making an effort.

He was possessive too. Made Eric jealous. Caused a lot of tension within the crime lab and PD already as it was. Became one of the most infamous semi-rogue cops in the department. The guy caused a lot of havoc in every advance. Everytime he had information, it came with another street gang or dangerous criminal putting a price on his head which would potentially blow everything MDPD had been trying to do with these undercover operations. He tore her up every single time. And Calleigh was sick of it.

Since then, she had a few flings up to now; hadn't always go the way she had hoped. There was the guy at the gun range, then the guy at the horse riding academy, and then there was the ex-boyfriend, who apparently, was now in a relationship with Erica Sykes, one of Ryan's old flings and the reporter who would do anything to get a good story.

But over the passed time, she realised that it now didn't matter at that point. She had already began to realize that she'd developed a small crush on a friend. The friend she called at 3am once, tipsy and upset, who came and picked her up. Someone who would let her ramble on for hours and not miss a word. He was like a personal therapist. Gave her the advice she needed to hear, instead of what she wanted him to say.. because he was brave enough to not let her suffer so blindly. That was the thing she had been missing in all her past relationships. A sense of closeness where you don't even have to force anything out of the person, you just.. know. The person to cheer her up on days she wasn't in the best of moods. He was just there. Even the first day they met, she was a little shaken by his appearance.

Calleigh knew it would be a big step, giving it a chance with Ryan, but she knew that you only ever truly about someone like this once. And there were a lot of things they had that she had never really felt before. This madness was one of the reasons. He was dorky (maybe a little shy at times) and definitely wasn't perfect.. however, that was what made him the person she could.. maybe see herself with someday.

"Calleigh, I got you IM. What's up?" He said, walking over to her as she waited for him by the fountain.

It was one of those warmer days in Miami, the first day of August, with the heat being the reason for the lack of people wearing many layers. Calleigh had decided that she wanted to meet him and this exact place would be the perfect location just because it brought back good memories. It had to be even the slightest bit special, even if it was the moment of truth as to what happened to their relationship.

Calleigh swivelled around and smiled to see him. She was honestly happy just to see him. "This is the fountain I dove into to find your ring." He grimaced, staring at it regretfully. The blonde shook her head and walked over to him, embracing him in a hug. "It was. And you actually found it too." She reminded him. He hugged her back, holding her in his strong arms. "All for you, Cal." He said jokingly as they pulled away from the hug.

"Anyways.. back to the importance of asking you to meet me here." Ryan nodded, gazing into her eyes with such intent and curiosity. It made her feel butterflies in the pit of her stomach. The things he made her feel were unbelievable. Even gazing into his eyes right there and then, she knew exactly what she wanted to say to him. "I'm listening.." He said quietly. Calleigh licked her lips and sighed.

"I.. really like you, Ryan. And I know that you might not feel the same about me but I.. I can't help it. You have made me fall in love with you, from your handsome face to your loyalty and commitment. I wouldn't want anyone else-"

Ryan listened to her carefully and his expression had never changed so swiftly. She was in love with him. And he knew she was running out of ways to explain it, being all cute babbling on to him. Ryan really had the urge to just grab and kiss her.

Before she could finish her sentence as she had begun a bit of nervous rambling, he had finally worked up the confidence as he leaned in and kissed her. Calleigh subconsciously kissed back, practically stunned by the feeling of his lips on hers. He'd still taken the initiative despite it being her who had confessed to him. Her hands were around the back of his neck, pulling him down a little closer as his hands rested on her hips. The kiss was passionately driven as the chemistry the two had was unlike anything either of them had experienced. A soft moan fell from Calleigh's lips as the stimulating desire she felt had her on the edge.

Ryan and Calleigh slowly pulled away with both out of breath as they did. "I love you, Calleigh." He said in a semi-breathy tone, using his hand to brush the hair out of her face. Calleigh emotionally beamed at him, basically at a loss for words. Not only had they just had their first kiss right there and then, they'd also admitted that they felt strongly about the other. Her heart was racing and she could feel the goosebumps along her arms as they silently looked at one another. Calleigh could feel his heart beating at the same increased rate hers was. "I love you, too." She replied.

The older woman gently brushed her thumb over his cheek and smiled, "You're crazy." she whispered with a giggle. He remembered that she called him crazy that very first day after the thing in the tunnel. "I guess I am."

She hadn't had it easy - that was easy to see. But he wasn't the type to let anyone see past this exterior he had. Two broken people finding their way to one another, through anguish, comfort and time. Calleigh saw it as a relationship she could finally invest in and have somebody finally reciprocate the feelings she felt, never taking a single moment they had together for granted as she knew how ease it was to lose and how hard it was to gain.

The blonde had found the person she wanted to be with in him, and she would stick with him until it was virtually impossible. Because she was sure that what they had was from a good place. Love was the strongest feeling after all.
