It has never occurred to Uzumaki Naruto why everyone seems to stay away from him. A sigh escaped from his mouth while he brushed across the whisker markings on his face. Tsunade-bachan has made him patrol around the village as a D-rank mission. "Naruto! What do you think you're doing here!" an angry voice made the genin jump up in surprise. He looked up to find his pink-haired team-mate glaring at him angrily. "Hey… Hey Sakurachan, I was just taking a walk around to see-" "Just go away…" The agitated girl growled, "I don't want to see your face, can't believe they paired us together in a team!"
Naruto looked a bit sad, but not discourage. "Do you want to go to ichira-" "Go away!"
As Naruto strolled through the crowded streets, he couldn't help notice the people looking at him strangely. That has really been the case for the past decade or so, no one seemed to accept him, even his teachers. He didn't really mind; the smell of ramen was good enough to compensate for the loneliness that ached throughout him. "I would like Miso Chashu please!" The boy eagerly ordered. "Itadakimas!"
Belly full, feeling exhausted, Naruto drifted to sleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. A sound of explosion, woke him up abruptly. "What the…" Naruto grumbled, slightly frustrated from being woken up. 'Must be my stupid neighbors again…" He thought to himself as he got up and dressed quickly. As he headed outside, he realized that something was wrong. The smell of gunpowder and burnt wood attacked his nostrils. The living room, as small as it was, had blown up, and from the looks of things, was completely intentional. Naruto's eyes watered as he scanned around the room. The house was all he had left of his parents, whoever they were. All his slightly decent memories, his Ichiraku special edition cup ramen, was blown up to smithereens. "It's not like I could do anything about it" Naruto sighed to himself. He peered outside the half of the room that has crumbled, and silently sobbed to himself. His gaze unconsciously fell to the floor where he noticed something very interesting. A piece of burnt cloth and hair. All though mostly charred and black, the genin noticed it's blonde, just like his. 'Eh, probably just my hair…' He told himself. What he didn't notice was the length of the long hair, and the pattern on the piece of cloth that looked suspiciously like a red cloud.
The Hokage was at work early today, she really has a lot of work to catch up on. "Shizune, I need someone to go on this S-ranked mission. Anyone with spare time?" "It seems like every single jonin, apart from Kakashi are occupied Tsunade-sama," The old lady scowled "Anbu?" "Most of them are on missions, the remaining ones are currently… Investigating something…" The Hokage's head perked up in interest, "What would that be?" "Well, Tsunade-sama you see, Uzumaki Naruto's house was blown up yesterday," the hokage's assistant slightly scowled at the boy's name, "We have to run the usual procedures, or it would seem like we are treating people, unfairly…" Tsunade rolled her eyes, "never mind about that brat, it was probably a harmless prank from the villagers anyways. On the other hand, I need those ANBU on the mission right now, tell them to meet me here in 5 minutes" Shizune flashed out of the room.
"Kakashi Sensei!" the silver-haired ninja turned around to see his student Haruno Sakura beaming at him. "Yo, Sakura, how are you?" his voice completely lacking any emotion. He didn't really like his Sakura, in fact, he doesn't really like any of the genins apart from the prodigy Uchiha Sasuke, but a teacher's got to do what a teacher's got to do. "Kakashi Sensei, Tsunade sama was looking for you…" Kakashi cried a bit on the inside as he unnoticeably glanced at his book, then at Sakura before letting out a miserable breath. 'I guess Icha Icha Paradise has got to wait…'
The Renegade couldn't stop grinning to himself, he earned a hard, metallic glare from the shinobi next to him. "Our mission is to observe the kid, not kill him, or anyone else. Too far, Deidara..." the man practically his the last words. "Relax, Sasori. Let me show them some of my art."
