Franklin opened his car and slowly, with as much caution that is physically possible, half-rolled out of the front seat of Michael's Tailgater. He shakily got on his feet and limped to the front door, and wasted no time sitting down on the front steps to alleviate the pain he was feeling in his back.

This didn't go unnoticed by Michael or Trevor.

After a heist that didn't quite go as the gang planned, it wasn't a surprise someone was injured. They had attempted to hit a pawn shop and the escape went awry, with a good fraction of the entire LSPD on them. Franklin had been riding a motorcycle alongside Karim and Packie and one of the police cars hit him hard, knocking him off his bike into the air and onto his back on hard cement. They managed to get away and none of their take was lost, but that wasn't what Franklin was focused on right now

"You alright, kid?" Franklin looked up to discover Trevor and Michael were now standing over him. He hadn't even notice they walked over. "Yeah homie, I'm fine. Just give me a sec" He tried, but he knew he wasn't fooling either of them. His speech was choppy and obviously pained, and his breathing was laboured. Michael placed his hand on Franklin's back, frowning when Franklin flinched. He lifted the boy's shirt, and much to his dismay, discover a large swollen bruise running across Franklin's lower back.

"Wanna try again?" Michael asked gruffly. Franklin finally turned to look his surrogate father in the eyes, before closing his own eyes and turning his head toward the ground and letting out a big sigh. Michael exchanged a look with Trevor before grabbing Franklin by the arm and pulling him to his feet, and dragging him into the house. He led Franklin to his bedroom with Trevor following closely. Franklin groaned with each step up the stairs and grunted as Michael pushed him face-first onto his bed. "Keep him there. I'll be right back" Michael told Trevor before leaving the room.

Franklin felt Trevor's gaze on him. But something was different about it this time. There was no anger. No judgement. No malice. Only…..genuine concern. It took all of about 2 minutes before Michael returned. He threw something down on the bed, and Franklin turned his head to see a first aid kit. He grunted as Trevor held his arms together with one hand, and pushed on his upper back with the other. He felt his shirt being raised and a cold hand touching his lower back. "Don't move, kid" He heard Michael tell him, before feeling the hem of his pants being grabbed and tugged down. Not all the way, just low enough to reveal the extent of his injuries.

Trevor felt Franklin begin to fight against his grasp. "Shit man, y'all don't need to be this fucking dramatic. I'm fine" He bit out. Michael shook his head. "I wish you could see these bruises kid. You don't look fine at all. And stop trying to fight Trevor, you know you won't win." He scolded, as he took out a container of witch hazel and started applying it to Franklin's back. Franklin gave up and sighed, relaxing on the bed. He wished he could just have a beer, and forget any of this night ever happened.

"And don't think I'm letting you go back to your house by yourself with this. You're staying here tonight" Michael said. It wasn't a request. Franklin could tell, but that didn't stop him from arguing. "No offense dog but, your couch ain't exactly an appealing spot to sleep. And I gotta feed chop or he's gonna get testy." They were valid arguments. But Franklin was like a son to Michael and he was gonna make sure Franklin was 100%, whatever it takes. "Amanda and the kids are on a trip right now. You can have Tracey's bed. And your buddy, what's his name? He can take care of your dog."

Franklin chuckled. "Lamar? I don't trust his ass farther than I can throw it man." Michael sighed "I'm sure he can handle a task as simple as putting food in your dog's bowl. You're staying here. End of discussion." Franklin felt his arms being released and his shirt being pushed back down. Michael rolled him over onto his back and looked down at the kid.

Trevor starting making his way to the door. He bid his friends farewell and left for Vanilla Unicorn, leaving Michael and Franklin the only ones in the big Rockford Hills mansion. Michael turned his attention back to Franklin, helped him up, and walked him to Tracey's room. After getting Franklin settled into the bed and making sure he was comfortable, he gently closed the door to Tracey's room and left for his own.

He would always love that kid

Ok so I recently got into GTA V and I LOVE the relationship between Franklin and Michael. I couldn't resist writing a oneshot about it. I'm also thinking about writing an AU where Brad is still alive. Let me know what you guys think!
