Beautifully Gone
Please note, this is a tenth walker story, and I guess a little bit of a Mary Sue as well, not entirely however. There will be many triggering topics including eating disorders, depression, self harm, and suicide. If ANY of these may trigger or effect you in any way, please refrain from reading! You can message me anytime if you want, I don't mind. Now on to the story! I wrote this because I wanted to see what it would be like for a person like me to find themselves in Middle Earth. The story follows one Elizabeth Ann Stone, who has been stuck at home like most people due to the pandemic, only, there's a twist; she finds herself in Middle Earth just before the quest to destroy the ring takes place! Now obviously my character Elizabeth will try her hardest to give up her terrible coping mechanisms while in her favorite epic story, but sometimes it's harder than it seems. And what she tries so hard to keep hidden, will eventually come into light. With a huge heart, Elizabeth's endeavor to do good and overcome the evil forces of Sauron will collide with her internal battle. Will she be able to give her all to aid the fellowship in the events to come or will she fall? And will she be deemed "sane" enough to retain her freedom?
This may also be a possible romance story, because why not?
Disclaimer: this story is for fun and everything Lord of the Rings doesn't belong to me, only Elizabeth
Elizabeth Ann Stone was currently stuck at home, confined behind her bedroom door, willingly of course. Fourteen days it's been, she noticed, that she and her fellow classmates have been out of school due to the pandemic. How boring! Though Elizabeth knew in her heart that she really didn't want to return. She was a senior in high school at the ripe age of seventeen with no bloody license. She was a coward and she knew it. Apart form two other people, which happened to be her unfortunate "friends", everyone else had their license. She was a damn fool, and an ugly one at that, so she figured.
At 190lbs or 86kg if you will, she was obese, and she knew it too. Her binge eating got way out of hand, especially when she tried to recover from her previous addiction, self harm. Now self harm is a bitch and no matter how hard Elizabeth pushed back, she would often fail and relapse. In a vain struggle to finally become clean once and for all, she ended up bringing out more of the BED in her. All of this in turn drastically reduced her motivation, brought her from overweight to obese, and drove her into ED forums seeking lethal advice to lose weight.
Elizabeth, without a single doubt, hated everything about her body, except for her eyes. Her eyes were hazel, and she found them very beautiful. Often when she'd look in the mirror, Elizabeth would only look at her eyes, because she couldn't bear to look at anything else lest she cry. Her hair fell just to her shoulders, in a mix of dyed auburn and bleached highlights. She hated it, and preferred her long lost natural dark hair. She was forced however, to dye it permanently because over the summer it was temporarily dyed scarlet but her school wouldn't allow it. So over the scarlet they dyed it brown, and by now it morphed into a shade of red, and blonde highlights were added. Her thighs were littered with hundreds of scars, along with her less noticeable ones on her ankles, legs, stomach, chest, shoulder, and wrists. Right now however, her wrist was still healing, and that made her sad.
Above the scars on her left wrist was a newly acquired injury. Last night... Elizabeth giggled lightly when she recalled it though she sounded a bit deranged. Around 8pm she decided out of boredom to rewatch The Return of the King, Extended Edition, downstairs in her brother's room. At the same time however, out of loneliness and desperation, Elizabeth opened the first beer can. Each can was approximately a pint, and she had four. To be rather blunt she would have had more, except her brother only had four cans. She didn't feel drunk, and she always thought she could in fact feel more drunk if she only had more. Four pints though, was her record.
That night she lost herself in a binge episode, going up and down stairs to get more food and eat it, all in an endless cycle. The first food she brought down was a microwaved hot pocket, and while she reached to place it in the microwave, she extended her left arm directly on top of the steam of a kettle. It certainly took Elizabeth awhile to register the pain, but she pulled her arm away swiftly when she did.
After the movie finished and she was unbearably bloated from excess gluttony, she unsteadily made her way to her bed. Eventually after tossing and turning, and feeling the oncoming headache, she fell asleep. Three hours later she woke up to a mild headache, dry lips, and a stomach ache. After tip toeing to get more water and a cold rag, she found herself unable to sleep. With no desire to toss and turn, she turned on her phone and began reading tenth walker stories. She loved these stories, and found herself buzzing with excitement whenever she pictured herself walking with the fellowship through the woods, with light rain and a chilling mist.
Before the epidemic became a pandemic, she pushed herself to walk to school everyday. This way no one would see her without her license, it also enabled her to get some exercise, which is when she started to restrict her calorie intake. And, in the back of her messed up mind, it also increased her chances of death. Hey, sometimes a car doesn't see you. The walk was mainly uphill and took twenty to thirty minutes, depending on her speed, to reach her despised destination.
Right now she lay idle on top of her grey blankets, at 3:37 in the afternoon. Very passive suicide thoughts ran through her head, and she heavily emphasized the word "passive." She turned slightly to glance outside the wide window next to her and sighed. It was still raining, heck it's been raining all day! Secretly though, Elizabeth loved the rain, especially when it wasn't during any warm season or winter. The rain gave a certain feel to the air, a certain calmness that embraces you. Plus it also gave her Aragorn vibes, and she really wanted a forest in the back of her yard.
After laying in her bed, and reading for over six hours, she finally decided to stand and stretch. Elizabeth wore grey sweatpants and a baby blue tank top. She honestly didn't like revealing so much of her skin, especially when she still had the burn and previous relapse written on her arm, but she figured she was safe hidden in her room. After stretching she took two steps over to her white bookcase and reached behind it to open the window a bit. Elizabeth bent down to peer out of the screen, only to be rewarded with the dewy sent of rain.
She inhaled lightly and a smile pressed at her lips. Now that the rain had come to a light, but endless sprinkle, she was certain that she would go for a walk. Giddy with excitement, because honestly what else is a teen to do with no friends during a pandemic, she slid the window shut. Elizabeth pulled the long curtains together and shuffled to her closet, careful to avoid the three hundred piece puzzle she left scattered on the ground. Earlier on she thought it to be a great idea, a puzzle, but she quickly lost interest in it and found herself too lazy to clean it up.
The oak closet door flew open as Elizabeth quickly pulled out a pair of her largest jeans, as she learned with weight gain, comes the loss of previous worn jeans. The teen applied her eco-friendly charcoal deodorant, oh how she loved it, and pulled a long turquoise shirt over her head. Closing the wooden closet door she snatched her absolute favorite faded, bleached stained, and ripped green hoodie. It sounds bad to the ears yes, but in Elizabeth's eyes, it was beautiful, reminding her of well worn ranger's garments.
With her dark blue jeans, turquoise shirt, and green jacket, Elizabeth shuffled to slip her sneakers on. She adjusted her glasses anime style, and announced to her dad that she was going for a walk. Carefully before she opened the door, she peered back to where she left her cell phone lay on the table and shrugged, it was always such an annoying weight to carry, but it was also a precaution, her brain nagged. Hesitating, she decided to leave it on the table, and stepped outdoors.
So ends chapter 1
