AN: Welcome to what I hope will be the first chapter of my new story Kamen Rider Chronicle: Chronicles of a Hero, this story will be an AU beginning during the events of Episode 26 and Episode 27 of Kamen Rider Ex-aid. Breaking away from the norm our main character will not be one of the main riders but will instead be one of the many people who purchased Kamen Rider Chronicle when it hit the shelf's. Now then let's begin with these fitting words shall we…GAME START!
Chapter One: Player Selection
In the year 2011, a new disease called the Bugster Virus had unknowingly infected humanity and turned its victims into monsters known as Bugster's, creatures that resemble video game characters from the games released by the Genm Corporation, the disease was a computer virus that evolved to effect humans. To combat this new threat, the Ministry of Heath worked with the gaming company Genm Corp and its CEO Kuroto Dan to find the Cyber Rescue, a team of young doctors with the ability to transform into Kamen Riders that can effectively eliminate Bugster's.
After many struggles and strife, the Riders finally uncovered the truth behind the event known as "Zero Day" and the true mastermind behind the tragic event unknown to them that the true battle was just beginning.

In the shopping district of the city of Seto in Aichi Prefecture, of Japan. Many shoppers were watching an advertisement playing on the surrounding screens.
"It's a new age of gaming!" a pink haired woman called out on the screen, "Where the real world and the Virtual world collide to create the ultimate multiplayer game, and its name is Kamen Rider Chronicle!"
Those familiar with the Genm gaming company would recognize her as Poppy Pipopapo a character from the game DoReMiFa Beat.
"Is now Available in stores near you!" Poppy cried out with a happy simile as she pointed out to her audience "You are the Hero of your own story!"
In the surrounding spectators one young man's eyes light up at those words as he begins paying more attention to the virtual idol.
"So, don't wait start your Epic adventure today! Lets Game!" Poppy yelled as she twirled around as the Genm logo appeared on the screen.
The various shoppers started dispersing talking about the new game they had just heard announced as one young man remained staring at the screen in thought.
"I…can be a Hero?"

~One Week Later~
At a nearby amusement park the Bugster Revol and his solders were fighting against a lone Ride-Player, easy to say the fight was going poorly for her, as she was being overwhelmed and being tossed around like a rag doll.
"Lock on target." Revol declared as he fired the canon on his back at the helpless women.
The Ride-Player was thrown back hitting a pillar. She grunted as she quickly cancelled her transformation not wanting to risk the chance of a "Game Over".
"Commence final assault!" Revol ordered his troops to finish the women off, but as they started to move towards her, they were interrupted.
Two young men quickly entered the scene running up to check on the fallen women, these were two doctors/Kamen Riders of the CR Emu Hojo and Hiiro Kagami.
"Are you alright ma'am?" Emu asked the women with concern as he helped her sit up.
Hiiro quickly took his stethoscope and checked the women over.
"Revol's disease." He stated towards Emu.
Emu nodded as he moved the Ride-Player to safety. "Don't worry, we'll cure you soon, please hang in there." He told the women.
"Thank you…" the Ride-Player replied relief in her eyes.
As the two doctors then turned to face the Bugster they pulled out their Gamer Drivers and Gashat. With a press of the button they transformed.
"Proceeding to Level Two." Hiiro announced.
"Transformation Plus!" Emu cried out.
With a flash the two doctors transformed into Kamen Rider Brave and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid! As they prepared to charge the Bugster's they were halted by a voice calling out.
"Stop Right there!"
The two Riders turned to where the voice came from and saw a young girl, they were familiar with. Nico Saiba also known as Genius Gamer N walked towards the battle with a confident smirk on her face.
"I'll be the one to beat Revol." Nico declared to the two Riders, "Huh?" the Riders respond confused as even Revol was not sure were this was going. Nico took her had out of her red jacket and reveling a Kamen Rider Chronicle Gashat. Pressing the button, the Gashat activated.
KAMEN RIDER CHRONICLE..
"Game Start." Nico then danced as she pressed the button again with a smile.
ENTER THE GAME! RIDING THE END!
Nico's body was covered with pixels as she was then covered with the same armor as the women had worn earlier though Nico quickly started to add some of her own personal touch to her appearance. She placed a sticker with her name on it on her chest plate and put her armbands on her arms, she then placed her backpack on her back, as a finishing touch she placed her famous hat on her helmet.
"The Ultimate! Strongest! Genius! Ride-Player…Nico has arrived!" Nico posed showing of her new look.
"What are you doing?!" Hiiro called out to her in shocked concern that she would use the Gashat even knowing just what would happen to her since she was more in the know with her working with another Doctor Rider.
"You Rare characters can just stand back and watch." Nico declared not sounding the least bit worried as she ran towards Revol and his forces jumping over the two Riders head's, she landed right in the middle of Revol's firing squad.
What followed next was a comical battle has Nico used not only the Bugster's against each other she also used the animal rides to knock them out of the game.
Revol looked on as his men were taking out so easily, "Hoh...not bad girl!" he declared as he charged at her. "In that case." Revol leaned forward to aim his Canon at Nico.
Nico seeing the attack coming jumped up and grabbed a power up item floating above her head.
Reflect!
Nico's arm's glowed as she held them out before her and as Revol's shots came at her they were sent right back at Revol sending him to the ground with a thud.
Seeing her chance Nico moved over to a balloon cart grabbing a handful she came sailing through the air at Revol with a flying kick.
"Attack from the air?!" Revol cried starting to panic at the flying player.
Jumping high up in the air Nico declared her final attack.
"Finishing Move, Nico Critical Kick!" she declared performing a flying kick down at Revol. Revol slammed back into the ground and exploded with a blast. As the smoke cleared announcement appeared were Revol had stood.
GAME CLEAR!
Nico turned to face the two Riders as she exclaimed "Alright, I did it!"
"Unreal." Emu not believing Nico had took down a Bugster as a Ride-Player, as the stats of the Ride-Player were below that of the stats of the Rider's themselves.
The two Riders cancelled their transformation, but before they could approach Nico a ball of light appeared over Nico's hand, the light quickly took a familiar shape to the three, it was the Bang Bang Shooting Gashat of their fellow Rider Snipe, only that the top part that would contain the game was a stub.
Nico looked at the Gashat with confusion "What's this?"
As if waiting for that question in a flash of blue light Poppy Pipopapo appeared "Hi did you call? Have no fear Poppy Pipopapo will guide you though the game!" she declared stringing different poses as she talked.
"With every Bugster you defeat you will receive one of those Gashat trophies as proof." Poppy reveled with a smile of congratulations to Nico.
Nico was about to cheer at her accomplishment but the next news she would hear would leave not only her, but the two Doctor Riders shocked to her core.
"You are officially the second Ride Player in the country to defeat a Bugster, congrats!" Poppy revealed taking out a large Confetti Party Popper.
"Sec-second?!" the two Doctors exclaimed in surprise that someone had already taken down one of the Bugster, Nico just stood still as she processed that someone had beaten her to the punch.
But the three of them had the same questions on their mind.
Who was the first Ride Player to beat a Bugster?
Where was he now?
And finally, whose side would he be on?

Two days ago
"Im-Impossible my legendary magic wasn't enough?!" a white hooded monster the members of CR would easily identify as the Bugster known as Aranbura from the game used by Hiiro Kagami Taddle Quest cried out as he was slashed across the chest with a Ride-Weapon that was provided to the Ride Player's.
Standing across from Aranbura was a Ride Player but just like Nico would do, the Ride Player fighting Aranbura had customized his look to stand out from the other Players.
The Player had added a short-sleeved long black haori over his armor, it was closed with a thin red string and written on the back was the kanji for hero (杰) on the back written in gold.
The Ride Player walked to were Aranbura had landed grabbing an energy item as he passed by.
MUSCULAR
The Ride Player's body buffed up like a body builder before returning to normal.
"Now then taste my finishing move!" the Ride Player announced to the Bugster.
He quickly leaped up and swing his sword down as he declared his final attack.
"Eiyuu… Critical Slash!" the Ride Player cried out as he brought his sword down on the helpless Bugster.
Aranbura could do nothing as the powered-up attack of the human came down on him before he could bring up a proper defense, as the attack connected the Bugster exploded in a blast of flames.
GAME CLEAR
As the Ride Player looked at where the red magician had been, he couldn't help but cry out in pure joy "I-I did it…I won!"
As he jumped up in the air in joy, he noticed a ball of light had formed by him raising his hand the light took shop to reveal a blue Gashat with Taddle Quest writing on the side.
As he looked over his prize in confusion a flash beside him took shape to show the from of Poppy the guide of Kamen Rider Chronicle.
"Congratulations!" Poppy cried out to the lone Ride Player, "You are officially the first Player to defeat a Bugster in the country! Well done!"
The Ride Player almost took a step back at the sudden appearance of the pink haired gaming idol but quickly caught himself.
As the gaming idol explained about the Gashat he had won the Ride Player couldn't stop smiling behind his mask.
"I can do it! I can be a Hero!" the Ride Player thought to himself in happiness.
After Poppy was done, she asked the Ride Player what he wanted to be known as to the other Players, to this there was not a moment of hesitation before he gave his answer.
"I am Rider Player Eiyuu and this is just the start of my EPIC!"
